Very professional. Options for different tests are explained and not pushed. Assistance with choice of glasses and lenses was top-notch with a very knowledgeable professional. The optometrist was thorough and positive with good recommendations about eye care and health. The experience was not a rush job like I find in many other business arenas. Thank you Vision Gallery.

I’ve been seeing Dr Wong for quite a few years now. He explains everything to me regarding my vision and my eyes. I had to see him on an emergency and everything checked out ok. He and the staff treat me and my family very well. I’m also happy with the selection of eye wear I’ve recently chosen and in the past.

The office did a great job with covid precautions. Everyone wearing masks and sanitized things constantly. Since clients are by appt only spacing between people was great. Pre appt was good, she explained each of the exams/procedures and sanitized stuff.The doctor answered all my questions and took his time. He is funny and gave me a talking to for not wearing sunglasses, he even showed me details in my eyes as the reason for wearing them. He used tape to secure my face mask during the exam. He seems to really care.The person that helped me afterwards, she wears cat eye glasses, I cant remember her name and is not listed on their website. She was welcoming and so patient with me wanting to try all glasses on and afterwards put them aside for disinfecting.

Great staff and Dr Wong is wonderful. Highly recommend this office.

I called an eye center in Berkeley and they told me I was going to have to wait a MONTH to get an eye exam and an appointment to get new glasses. Here I called and got an appointment the next day :)).Fantastic COVID precautions, all of the ladies here are super nice and accommodating. Dr. Wong knows his stuff and is very friendly. I will drive the extra distance to come to Castro Valley to get the kind of service they provide here!

This was my first visit. The office staff was very helpful. The assistant explained all the tests. Dr. Wong patiently explained every detail of the procedure and findings. He answered all my questions. It was a good experience so I will be coming back.

Super friendly and professional. I was ready to be seen on time with my appointment. I did not have to wait. Everything was sterilized before I made contact with any machine. They took the time to talk with my about issues related specific to my eye health and provided recommendations and tips.

They were able to see me on short notice. (I did call before to check) The receptionist Star was very welcoming. Dr. Young was thorough with my dad and I and explained to us everything she would be doing and answered all our questions. The staff was efficient and I felt taken care of not only bc of the outstanding optometric care, but also bc the employees kept all areas clean, sanitized, and controlled foot traffic in the office. Thank you specifically to Mariana for helping me choose the best frames for me. All the ladies in this office are kind, welcoming, and helpful. Not your average health visit. Highly recommend

I needed to have one of my lens put back into the frame and had no idea how long it was going to take (because I had never needed to repair glasses), I had previously gone to a different store and was told that I’d have to come back for them once they were done, which to me seemed normal to me at the time. But then I came here and was out in literally five minutes, the staff was efficient and nice!!

Friendly and efficient! Always willing to help me pick out my new frames and are judgement free at the amount of frames I try on.This recent visit was post COVID-19 and they had excellent safety practices but still maintained that friendly atmosphere.

Update to my last review….nothing has changed.Dr. Wong and staff still rock!!We’ve been a Vision Gallery family for almost 20 years and couldnt be more pleased with the friendly staff and superior service we have enjoyed there year after year. From Dr. Nelson to Dr. Wong it’s been a great experience.

Dr Wong is great. . I have a cornea problem which makes getting glasses difficult. He was very patient and attentive. The staff is wonderful too!

I have been going to Vision Gallery for the past two years. Every time I have gone I have had nothing but a positive experience. The staff and Dr. John Wong are always friendly, engaging and caring. The exams are thorough and the opportunity to ask questions or to have them answered is always ample. I would highly recommend making an appointment with Vision Gallery if you are looking for a new place to take care of your eyes.

They charged $50 for a $10 office visit copay, they did some vision test without asking me. I have never had this happen with any provider ever. I called in to question the extra charge and they blamed me for not reading the fine print in the new patient paperwork. I would not recommend this place.
