Dr Burns is fabulous! I went to him with very bad left side nerve root compression from degenerative disc disease. He got me a stat MRI and the following week he did an extensive surgery that will hopefully prevent that debilitating pain. He managed my pain while in the hospital and came in to see me everyday. He is very caring, smart and knows his stuff when it comes to spinal issues. I always received prompt appointments also. His PA, Ben Anderson came to see me also and even went down to the pharmacy to pick up my meds for pain and muscle spasms on the day of my discharge. He is quite the outgoing and sweet personality. I would highly reckoned them!

Review №2

I wish to lodge a formal complaint against the office of Dr. Camden Burns, orthopedic surgery of IU Health Physicians.I do not know exactly whether the negligence is a result of my actual physician Dr. Burns himself, or that of his staff completely ignoring all of the messages I left - but I honestly suspect the latter. That being said, my last actual visit with Dr. Burns was 2/12/21 and the result of that visit and his recommendation to me was a referral to neurology and a referral to pain management. Since that visit I have called the office and left many messages - all unreturned. The only time the office deemed to call me back was when I threatened to talk to admin about my troubles, and even that conversation resulted in yet another unreturned message, and no actual yield of assistance.I called over and over seeking an urgent referral to neurology because I was told by the IU health neurology department that they could not see me until May or June, unless I obtained an urgent referral from Dr. Burns’ office to get seen much sooner. And my situation was most certainly urgent as I stressed in my messages that my condition was quickly worsening and I seemed to be losing my ability to walk. If that is not urgent as a 31 year old woman, I do not know what is.I was also awaiting a referral for pain management, because the original clinic I was referred to offered a more holistic approach and had many terrible reviews about being a fraud and scamming their patients. Never have I heard back from your office on either of these urgent matters, and I eventually took it upon myself to seek a pain management facility without doctor referral - which I should not have needed to do being under your care.My primary reason for this complaint is that of the request for an urgent neurology referral to get in to see neuro more quickly than May or June (a 4 month wait). In my waiting game with your office to return my calls, my condition continued to worsen to the point that I could no longer move my entire left leg. This landed me in the ER on Wednesday 3/10 - after nearly a month of reaching out to your office. In fact 3/10 was the last date that I called IU Health and left my final message, still unreturned to this day.Needless to say, my neuro appointment was most urgently moved up by the ER, and I was immediately evaluated. As it turns out I have a spinal tumor that has been likely growing for several years and is squashing my spinal cord. It was slowly sending me into paralysis, as I described in my messages to your office about losing my ability to walk. It would have resulted in total paralysis if I had not taken it upon myself to go to the ER. And I feel completely neglected, and quite frankly harmed, by whoever thought it was ok to continually ignore my urgent messages for so many weeks. I could have been alleviated of my pain sooner and found this tumor before it began cutting off my ability to use my left leg. I sought IU Health as a second opinion for my spinal issues of the last 3 years, as the first place I sought care at also failed me.I just don’t want someone else to fall through the cracks of this poorly ran office. I do believe in my heart that Dr. Burns is kind, and had good intentions with my course of treatment, and is even a very good doctor. Referring me to neurology was definitely a step in the right direction to a correct diagnosis. But it has proven in my case that ignoring your patients’ urgent and pleading messages for weeks can have literal life-altering effects. I hope you can take your jobs more seriously, and I feel those responsible should be entirely ashamed of their inaction on this matter.
