Dr. Badman is very realistic and straightforward. I had minimal pain just for the first two days. Always on time. His staff and nurse- Heather and Kim are very responsive to patient questions. Also, it is easy to contact the office - youre not on hold forever, as with some offices. Like many surgeons, Dr. Badman is quiet and may not have the best bedside manner. But for myself, I prefer a surgeon who speaks the truth and tells me the situation as it is. So I am grateful.

I had left shoulder replacement surgery last July 2020, some 8-months ago. Dr. Badman & his team performed wonderfully. He approved physical therapy within a few weeks of the operation which immediately improved my outlook & functionality. I am without pain and have good mobility & strength. I highly recommend Dr. Badman & his fine team.Rik

Dr. Badman came highly recommended to me by another orthopedic surgeon. He was right! Dr. Badman is very professional and very good at what he does. He is also personable and I never felt like he talked down to me, or dismissed any of my concerns. My shoulder is better many times over than it has been since the first time I injured it. Recovery was much easier than I anticipated. His office staff is great to talk to also, and always got back to me promptly. I would recommend Dr. Badman and this office to anyone needing shoulder issues looked at.

I was referred to Dr. Badman by a work related friend that had a shoulder replacement. I suffer from osteoarthritis and was in constant pain with a limited movement and could hardly sleep. I went through the protocols for therapy , shots and nothing seemed to work. This is when I contacted Dr. Badman and had my first total shoulder replacement. The experience was awesome, minimal pain never used the prescribed medication only Tylenol. Now my shoulder feels like a new one and have since had my other one replaced. No more pain , getting plenty of sleep and can actually throw a ball to my dog now.

My husband hurt his shoulder 3 months ago. It got to the point where the pain was unbearable. Someone we know used Dr Badman for a recent procedure and gave us his name. My husband went for an ultrasound and appointment December 3. Dr Badman told him he needed surgery to repair it and there would be no point to put a “bandaid” on it by doing therapy and injections and gave him a tentative date of 12/18 right then. The next day Heather from their office called and said Cigna our insurance would require an MRI & it was very difficult to get approval from them. That very day, 12/4 my husband had an MRI. The following Monday, 12/7 Heather called to say the procedure was declined and they wanted him to have 3 months of physical therapy and injections. My husband was confused because Dr Badman specifically said no to that during his appointment. The same day I call Cigna to let them know I was very frustrated because my husband was desperate because he was already in so much pain and Dr Badman specifically advised against therapy and injections. Was on hold and went back and forth because there’s a 3rd party Evacor that she also had to check with. Only to find out Dr Badman NEVER even submitted it. After multiple calls back-and-forth with CIGNA and Heather from Dr. Badmans office pleading with Heather to submit the request to insurance which she does and it’s declined. I called Cigna to see what to do and it was declined because the clinical information provided did not match up with the rotater cuff surgery request they submitted. They said Dr. Badman just needed to do a peer review which would take two minutes and let them know why he felt like the surgery was necessary. My husband called Heather back to let her know. She said it would be a week before she got with Badman and he would not be able to do it. After going back-and-forth with her. Dr. Badman ultimately declined to do the peer review. My husband was sad and frustrated because at this point he’s only sleeping for a few hours at night because of the pain and he still trying to work through the day. I had found another recommendation so I called them right away and was able to get an appointment in another town the next day. We went and we took the disk for the MRI the new doctor reviewed everything with us and set a surgery date and assured us that he would do a peer review. We ultimately found out, Dr Badman was submitting it as a rotator cuff surgery when actually it’s a labrum tear, inflammation and a cyst. My husband is currently in surgery, 12/29 and we are praying for relief for his pain and thankful for a second opinion and a helpful doctor at a smaller hospital. IU is a big hospital, we trusted the name. We trusted Dr Badman as he was recommended and Board Certified. We looked at countless reviews. Bottom line, Dr Badmans office lied. Don’t be afraid to get a second opinion.

What an exceptional doctor! My husband was having some shoulder pain at the beginning of winter, when he finally went to have the issue addressed the result was, you have a torn rotocuff, but we want you to do PT. We endured this painful process for 3 months with no relief and honestly much more pain. Finally did our own research and found Dr. Badman. Did the homework, research and decided to go see him. BEST MOVE EVER!!! He was so professional, so kind and upfront and honest on what he could do and wanted to do. Following my husbands treatment plan with Dr. Badman he was able to gain some mobility in his shoulder and arm. I highly recommend Dr. Badman for his knowledge in this field.

I had shoulder surgery from another Dr and after 4-5 months it was useless and extremely painful and all the other Dr. wanted me to do was more PT. Did some research and went to see Dr. Badman. On my first visit he gave me a cornerstone shot, after begging my other Dr. for one, and all be darn my shoulder started to work. Dr. Badman is very nice but gets to the point and works on making you better not draining your bank account. I just wish I saw him first!!!

Dr. Badman did reconstructive surgery which included weaving in a cadaver ligament and repositioning four muscle groups. After 6 months I am at 100% mobility and now working on strengthening . surgery paid off. I have recommended Dr. Badman to everyone I know regarding shoulder surgery.

Dr Badman replaced my right shoulder 2 years ago. Dr Badman took on a challenge that 2 other surgeons refused because of the severity of my joint degradation. I am ultimately thankful that the other surgeons were honest enough to refuse my case because the results that Dr Badman provided were nothing short of miraculous. I am currently sitting in the waiting room preparing to schedule the replacement of my left shoulder. I would never consider seeing anyone else for the repair of my severely degenerated shoulder and neither should anyone reading this review. The support staff is fantastic and compliments the fantastic skills and compassion that Dr Badman provides. You have found the BEST there is no point in considering any other physician for your care.UPDATE 01/2018Now with the Left Shoulder Replaced.Dr Badman selected IU West for my surgery and I found it an even better choice than Hendricks Regional Hospital. After my surgery in 10/2018 which included a bone graft to correct the geometry of my shoulder, recovery has been a bit slower. I was released to accelerate my physical training on 12/28 and the progress has been miraculous. Another amazing success story thanks to Dr Badman! If you need an Ortho DR .... Never Fear if Dr Badman is Near!Kinda Corny but its a FACT! My results bear this out. I now have ZERO Pain in my shoulders and approaching rapidly .... Exceptional Range of Motion. Talk about a MAJOR life improvement! Thank You to ALL the Staff and especially Dr. Badman!!!!
