If I could rate -⭐️ it would be more accurate. A poor uncaring moral of the staff trickles down from the “lie to ur face”management. Medications are given incorrectly and sometimes not given at all. So many errors were made that we had to request a daily print out of his administered medications to make sure our loved one was getting his prescribed medications. IF someone responds to your call button it takes a minimum of 20 minutes but more times than not 45 minutes. The facility does appear clean and there were a few caring and competent people but they were few and far between. I was seriously afraid to leave my loved one alone in this place.

Wonderful facility!!!! I had my grandfather there in long term care and he enjoyed all of the wonderful activities especially euchre club. The nursing staff was very accommodating even towards the end of life. I would highly recommend this facility for your loved ones as Carmel Health and Living really go the extra mile.

I could watch that place from my old apartment’s back porch for over 10 years. Once upon a time, elders would sit on the back porch and watch cars drive by and just chat with each other and pedestrians. They were a part of the community!No more!!One day a resident named Betty wandered into our complex and I and some of my neighbors defended her. And it was through her that I learned how horrible it was over there. In fact I, and others, managed to initiate state investigations of the place which were justified, at least at the time (I still have copies of the results of at least one of those investigations).I would say that it certainly COULD use good nurses but I would very careful if I were considering employment there.Unless something has changed the facility which house about 250 souls in various states of deterioration (almost all age related) is not particularly clean. And there is a certain amount of paranoia there among the management who themselves must answer to the owners, CarDon and associates of Bloomington Indiana who are the very definition of a capitalistic enterprise, the bad side, profit seeking organization with an emphasis on “for profit” at any cost.They specialize in appearance but the food is S.E. Rykoff and the last time I checked one dietician served them and several other institutions. And they are certainly not transparent. In fact, doors, I have been told, are routinely locked so that patients can never leave on their own. If that’s true, and I do not know this for sure, but if it is - how does the place meet local fire codes!?Anyway - yes they DO need good people there - but there also needs to be “there there” as a famous writer once said about the city of Oakland, California, worth working for.Perhaps things have changed - but PLEASE be careful!

My Auntie LOVES THIS PLACE!!! What a fantastic group of nurses, and the food.......AMAZING!!!! everyone is so helpful and caring!!! I would HIGHLY recommend Carmel Health and Living for rehab and long term care. As a nurse I am thinking of applying there to work as a second job!! What a fantastic place!!!! :-)

I am an employee for Carmel Health and Living and have been for three years. I enjoy working for the company the staff is friendly and most importantly they care. The community has a nice family feel,smiling faces as you walk through the building.

My mother-in-law came to Carmel Health & Living after knee surgery. She had wonderful care. She has many other health issues and they were attentive to everything. Every staff member smiled and said hi in the halls. This is an older building so I was concerned - no need to worry- all of their rehab rooms are private and have been remodeled.

Carmel Health and living is the answer to my prayers and I thank God (yes God) for this facility. Until you have a loved one, friend or someone that you know with Dementia you can not feel the pain that comes with this condition. My sister was in another facility before coming to Carmel Health and living and it was very painful going to visit her because the conditions were not very good there.Before we moved her to Carmel Health and Living (The Memory Section) we were invited to the open house there and it was love at first sight. Ms. Angie Baker oh, Ms. Angie Baker answered every question we asked and was there to supply whatever we needed. I could feel the Love she has for individuals with Dementia and I do mean Love.The staff is GREAT and very respectful to the residences in their care. The facility is very, very clean and each room has its own home like atmosphere. In my opinion Carmel Health and living is the best facility of its kind. May God always bless and prosper this facility and its personal in the precious name of Jesus.

I am a vendor that works with Carmel Health & Living and I always enjoy working with their billing office, Admissions office, social workers and nursing managers. They respond quickly, know their patients and families well, and are knowledgeable in their services. They are undergoing some renovations so I am looking forward to the new upgrades!

I have rehab at serveral communities and Carmel Health and Living is the best one i have rehab at. The staff are great! They are concerned about all my needs. They are all very kind and compassionate. Im excited to move into there independent living!

Im currently an employee of Carmel Health and Living. I do not believe there is a facility quite like this in Hamilton County. They serve a population of people that many communities would not even consider. When you tour, you will see smiling faces from both staff and residents. If you havent seen the community check it our for yourself.

This is the WORST care facility that I have ever encountered. Never leave your loved ones in their care. They do not give medication properly, they do not check the health of their patients regularly, and they will call the elderly crazy or refer to them as losing it when the care takers have done something wrong in order to cover it up. Finally, they released my grandmother on a day in which she could not even walk on her own. They did not check on her that day, they did not give her the proper medicines, and they were more concerned with getting her out of the facility than her actual health. If you care anything about your family you will NOT put them here.

I was there for one TERRIBLE year. The CNAs are more concerned about talking on their cell phones than caring for the residents. The lunch lady in the Terrace picks favorites and tells blatant lies about ones that arent on b her buddy list. Vicki, the lunch person has residents doing a lot of her work. There are several great care centers on US 31. If you loved one is important to you DONT send them to Carmel Health and living! !!

Oswald Ulysse is the best CNA! I love rehab here at Carmel Health and Living.

I have rehab several times at Carmel Health and Living. I had a recent knee replacement at Riverview Hospital and I knew exactly where I wanted to go for rehab. Everyone is so friendly! Bailey is my favorite therapist. The food is really good!! (Im not a picky eater) Im discharging home June 2nd with home healthcare. I would highly recommend this community for rehab and long term care.

This place while appears to be clean and emaculent has some of the worse staff I have dealt with. I am trying to find somewhere else to go

I have met many staff members that are amazing. I also love the medical director, Dr. Aregbe!!

My mother in law recently stayed here after a serious back surgery . Aside from the foul smell and unclean environment the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Throughout the overnight hours she was neglected for hours when she needed assistance to simply go to the restroom. It was so terrible that we had to come at 6:00AM the next morning to get her out of there. Do Not leave a loved one in this facility and expect anyone there to care.

Carmel care is not a good place for anyone to be. The lack of attention and care is extremely frustrating and horrible to have to experience. They sent my loved one home when she couldnt even walk and didnt assist her in any way to the care or anything. The last place you would want to leave a loved one.

My mother was there on hall 800 and she was very well taken care of and kept us informed daily on her health. Thank you Carmel Health and Living.

My God the smell in the hallway is awful. When we visit in the rooms the nurses left trash all over the place (caps, gloves, paperwork, etc). At least theres cable.

Ive been to quite a few facilities and if I need rehab in the future I will be going to Carmel Health and Living

Amazing community with amazing staff!!

Horrible Place!!!!!!!! My mother in law is there now and nobody is taking care of her!!!!! She had to call 911 because nobody is taking care of her. PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!
