The care that my mother-in-law, Mary Lou Barnum, received at Pacifica House was wonderful. She was there for about a week. The staff were incredibly caring and conscientious in their care of her. They were supportive of us as family members. Sophia the therapy dog was adorable and such a welcome visitor. Music therapy was incredible as well. They learned her favorite song in no time at all and played it for her! The nursing staff was exemplary. Thank you so much for all you did for my mom in law and for our family!

Everyone at PH was so kind and supportive. My mother was only there for 12 hours before she passed but I believe that is largely because they got her into such a comfortable state (after too many uncomfortable at our home).Due to Covid, many of the buildings features have to be off limits, like the main lobby and visitors kitchen, but even so Moms room was very pleasant. It felt like a cozy guestroom at Grandmas house, there was a smart speaker provided so that we could play Moms favorite music, and comfortable seating for the 2 visitors at a time allowed in the room. My father was even able to stay by Moms side overnight. When Mom passed at 2am, I was able to come see her one last time along with my daughter. We deeply appreciate that PH has taken proper measures to ensure that family can still stay by their loved ones, even during Covid times.Do not hesitate to entrust PH with your loved ones. We are so glad that we did.

The staff at Pacifica House are there to ensure your loved one, along with the entire family, is taken care of. Comfort care is their specialty and they handle everything extremely well. The house itself is calming as soon as you walk through the door and the staff is there to help you along every step of the way. The care provided is amazing and these people (staff and volunteers) are all angels.

My mother was cared for at Pacifica House and passed just about 1 year ago. The staff and facility was amazing for both her and our family. I cant thank them enough for what they did for us. Its hard for me to believe that some of the reviews here are so negative given our experience, but hopefully whatever caused those has been remedied. I highly recommend Pacifica House for hospice care for your loved ones.

This was the best experience we have had during the care of my dear mother in law. The home itself, the doctors, the nurses, caregivers and volunteers all went above and beyond to give her the best care. It was the first time my husband and I were able to sleep because we knew she was in good hands. We were worried and stressed as she was first hospitalized then went to a care facility for a few days then finally to Pacifica house for a week before returning to her home to live her remaining days with hospice care and caregivers. My sweet mother in law asked if she could stay because she appreciated the care she was given so much. However once she was stable it she was able to come home. There is only so much room. However it was a good transition after the trauma of the ER hospital and care facility.

My father-in-law spent his last days before passing in the Pacifica House. The staff was outstanding and made the last days so much easier for him and us. We traveled from the other side of the country and they were more than helpful. The staff genuinely cares about the patients and their families and the home was warm and cheerful which was so refreshing during such a difficult time. We are so grateful for the Pacifica House.

This truly is an amazing home that provided my husband and our family with a caring, loving and supportive atmosphere when we most needed it! Pacifica House and the Scripps Encinitas Palliative Care Unit provided the peaceful, loving care we all hoped for and we remain forever grateful.

It started out so great for my mom who is there, only one person there refused to let me cover my mother with a blanket when she was going to leave to go get help to clean my mother, and was going to leave my mother flat on the bed with only the hospital gound on.My mother had said she was so cold, so I reached for the blanket to cover my mother and this staffperson pushed the blanket back down and said my mother was fine, and she was taking care of my mother, over and over she did this, each time I asked, Didnt you just say you were going to get help, so let me cover her while you go get help? Each time she pushed the blanket back down, saying Mam Im taking care of your mom, shes fine, mam, Im taking cate of your mother shes fine. She refused to answer my question, only to repeat over and over shes fine. Then as to scare me she said with a sinacel look what are you going to help me? I said I helped the nurses in the hospital. She only responded like a robot Mam your mom is fine, So I put my hand up as to say enough, shut up, and said answer my question! She stormed out and said that woman tried to strike me!So my mothers second day of what should have been nice and peaceful, was not at all,And they kept injecting a medication, at 8:02, then 11:28, and 1:23 am, first I was told for nausea, then to dry her out, (resperatory), I looked it up, and in the do not use on patients with kidney problems My mother has kidney failure! My sister was so conserned she couldnt sleep, when I called her to ask if it was in the Drs orders? My nrothet and sister came and asked for their records, which they put every 4 hours!3.5 hours, and 2 hours, apart is not every 4 hours!I was told, You do know why your mom is here dont you? What is that supose to mean! The place is beautiful, the people seem kind but what are they saying, Stay out of it and well do the job!All i can say is my mom was coherent for days before and I know the travel there took alot, she was talking, wanting to eat, they started the injections, then she was out cold for 12 hours and woke up saying her mouth was dry, her mouth was dry, she wanted to drink to clear her throat so she could talk, the medicine they have her did dry her out, when she didnt need it, later their Dr, said its not a medication he recomended. So this was my experience, and it was only 24 hours into preparing for my mothers passing, she was diagnosed only 5 months ago, I lost my father just 1 year 4 months ago, so Im being kind to give them a 3, only because of the effort of the one nurse and charge nurse who helped my mother after the rude and unplesant employee was so unkind, and completely uncaring towards my mothers needs.
