Not good. They charge $60 for contact lens exam even though I have insurance. Seems like scam and probably I will transfer to new practice. Also, their website is ancient. No online appointments system? Get with the times.

Ive been coming here for >15 years. I trust Dr David Gendelman, Dr Phillip Gendelman and their teams so much that my husband now comes here, too. I dont know why so many people say they have problems in making appointments. I just rebooked 3 appointments with a very helpful person; it was easy, pleasant and fast.

They do not care... Clearly the hippocratic oath does NOT apply to this place. I am patient, it has been a while since I’ve gone because I had some kids. When I tried to make an appointment, it was a flat no. They didn’t offer someplace I could go or any instructions on what to do. I couldn’t believe it, if you are going to be that bad because of “COVID” just close the practice! Don’t waste time our time.

Let me start by saying the doctors here a wonderful. My issue is with their COVID policy. I understand that people need to protect themselves against COVID but their policy is EXCESSIVE and frankly it discriminates against those who have had COVID. The CDC says a person can leave quarantine ten days after testing positive. This office makes you wait at least one full month after your last symptom before they will see you. ONE MONTH! What if you have a headache from COVID that lingers for months? This is a common symptom for people - a lingering headache, but this office wont see you for one month after NO symptoms. How is that fair? Im very angry and disappointed at this policy. The girl that I talked to from the front desk was rude and could care less that I was out of contacts and needed an appointment. They should be ashamed for punishing people who have had COVID.

Decided ill add on to the large library of one star reviews here. Had to call four times to schedule an appointment, only to be called the morning of said appointment and being told it had to be canceled due to being short staffed. Absolutely ridiculous to have to call back four times to schedule and reschedule just to be called back again the morning of my appointment and told that it had to be canceled due to short staff. Ive come here on several occasions and dont know why I keep coming back, they are always rude and there is always some type of difficulty with scheduling in some way. This office is easy and convenient for me solely based on its location, however I will not be returning and will travel to a farther away location instead just so I dont have to deal with the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. I will say that on this most recent occasion the staff was not rude to me, as I have experienced before and have noticed many others have as well. They were very polite while scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, and recanceling my appointment this time. I just cant deal with the scheduling difficulties, I took time off of work to come to an appointment and was called the morning of said appointment to cancel it and offered an appointment the next day for me to take more time off of work and maybe get my appointment if they didnt decide to cancel it again the morning of. Makes me wonder if they truly didnt have the staff to accommodate my appointment, or perhaps rather just didnt want to have to deal with the extra work. Im leaning toward the latter.

I took the chance to go to this place for a routine eye exam after reading all of the negative reviews. a routine eye exam... this should be easy... HA.I set up an appointment and gave my insurance info, things looked go to go. then I got a call that my insurance was coming up as inactive. I gave my insurance a call they told my my insurance was active and I have a $50 co-pay for routine eye exams. Called the Dr office back and they still couldnt figure it out, still said my insurance as inactive. I ended up having my insurance company call the office and hash it out. I called the office after they had spoken with each other and the lady told me i was all set and my insurance was good to go. 15 minutes before my appointment the next day, i get a call from the office saying my insurance was inactive! I told her she had to run it through under the medical plan, not the separate vision plan that I had years ago (my insurance company told me to tell them this the day before). she said she couldnt do that because theyve never had me as a patient before or something... I had to cancel the appointment because it took 3 hours to figure this out the day before, no way it was going to get figured out in the 15 minutes before my appointment.I called Burlington eye care (a different office just down the street) and made an appointment with them. I had them verify my insurance on the spot, they put my insurance info through there system and she told me it came up as inactive but give me 2 minutes so i can try to run it through under medical. she came back after 30 seconds and said my insurance was accepted and it would be a $50 co-pay.... incredible.How was Burlington eye associates not able to figure out my insurance after multiple phone calls as well as speaking directly with my insurance company but Burlington eye care was able to figure it out on there own after 2 minutes? Nobody knows.

Fantastic work, was in and out my first ever visit within 40 minutes (including new patient paperwork). It was easy and my doctor was super nice and understanding with my issues.I wIll definitely be returning when it comes to my next routine eye exam.

Rude and unprofessional! John Re, the optician is the reason I’m writing this. Why he was so argumentative and childish, I still don’t know. The doctors are fine but this guy is simply a pathetic sales rep. with the title of optician. Notice all the “good” reviews don’t have any description. They were probably bought. Everyone gives this place a 1 star. Stay away!If you’re the owner – take notice and fire this guy! He’s hurting your business. You’ll never know how much additional business/money you would have had, if he were replaced years ago.

Impossible to get a hold of them to set an appointment. They Use a different company for an answering machine but they can’t help you in the slightest and can’t even take a message for call back. I’ve tried calling for a week to set an appointment but never got one. This place is a joke And I will never go back

I had a great experience with this office. My glasses got scratched and they replaced my lenses no questions or issues. I have a medical condition that requires some attention to my vision and they sent me to do additional testing for a baseline. I have gone here 3 times and each time was a good experience. I havent had any issues scheduling and my wait time was normal. I normally dont do such a long review but saw the others so just piping in with my feedback.

Called today for emergency appointment. Told my insurance, she said they do not accept mine without asking me further info and hanged up. I called insurance company, and they said Burlington Eye Associates is in network. Helpless. They should hire different receptionists. There are tons of better office in areas. Avoid here.

EXTREMELY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICEOk, so I actually saw a tons of bad reviews about the customer service at Burlington Eye Associates on some reviews websites, but I thought Im just going to see a doctor, this is gonna be fine. But, it turned out that it was TOTALLY NOT FINE!!!I called their Burlington office to make an appointment, the lady who picked up the phone was actually quite nice, and she said someones gonna call me back a couple minutes later. So, a lady in their Wilmington office called me, and SHE WAS THE RUDEST PERSON IVE EVER TALKED TO, SHE DID NOT LISTEN TO WHAT I WAS SAYING, AND EVEN HUNG UP ON ME WHILE I WAS TALKING!!!Im not saying that you have to be extremely humble to talk on the phone or anything like that, but how about just basic respect to each other?!

Customer service is HORRIBLE here. So rude!!! No manners at all. Got to the point I had to make a complaint to the manager. 1st visit was annoying because the Admin lady kept harassing me for my referral. I explained I did what she asked and she kept changing the fax # and where it should go. At the end of the day the referral was there a day before my appt.After an 1 hour wait for my appt I finally saw the doctor and not much relief, just more of a waste of time.Still gave them a 2nd chance and this appt was worse than the 1st. Some man comes up to me and Yells at me to Get off the Phone! I replied you mean Can you get off the phone please. He said Are you on the phone? Again I said you mean Can you get off the phone please.Looking around I see no signs stating I couldnt be on the phone. At this point Im over this office. I was the ONLY Black person in the office both times and the only one treated that way.

The scheduling sucks. Went in for lasik evaluation, was told doctor was not in that day. Why did you schedule me for LASIK evaluation on a day the doctor would have been there then. Will go to larger clinic. Do not recommend.

Worth 0 stars. Gave me an eye infection & abrasion! Gave me bad scripts for contacts & glasses then told me to go with old contact scripts & 10 year old glasses script ... thanks for nothing but aggravation & $$$

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I will not be returning to this place of business ever again. I work for an ophthalmology company and their office manager read me federal laws about contact lens usage, as if I dont already know what the rules and regulations are.
