Dr. Kim was highly recommended to me by multiple people for excellent patient care and strong knowledge in her specialty. Unfortunately, I was never able to meet her. My primary doctor referred me to her office, sent my labs and scans via fax as instructed for new patient acceptance. From there I was contacted by Tammy, the new patient scheduler, for an appointment booked out three weeks which I was still very grateful. My concerns for my health seemed to be coming to an end being that I was now in good hands of a specialist. The day of my appointment, 20 minutes before precisely, I received a call from Tammy stating that doctor reviewed my scans and was unable to treat me. My appointment was cancelled. The reason, Tammy said, was that I needed to see a completely different specialist to treat my issues and had no idea why my primary sent me to AZDHC. I asked why this was not addressed three weeks prior or before scheduling my appointment as the doctor must review the scans in order to be accepted. She had no answer other than she was sorry. She then referred me to the specialist that I needed who does not take my insurance. My condition has hospitalized me to the point of being septic and life threatening so my concerns for treatment are at its peak. Though Im sure Dr. Kim is a fantastic doctor, I would highly recommend you confirm your appointment and the specifics with her staff weeks before you appointment day.
