When they keep your appointment, theyre fine. But theyve canceled on me at the last minute twice in a row. Im going to go elsewhere since this Brookline Center has grown inconsistent (at least in my experience).

I have been going to European Wax Center for years and never had an issue with being burnt. I was such a loyal customer and always thought European Wax Center was the place to go. The lady ( I will not name names) doing my eyebrows burned me and instead of taking accountability and apologizing she insisted it was my skin that was too sensitive. No, that is absurd. She applied the HOT wax to my skin without checking to see if it was cool enough to apply. Which BURNT my skin. I asked the front desk for ice but they dont have ice. Which I thought was weird because I mean accidents do happen and I am sure this happens more often than just me. I had to run down to the wine store a few blocks down to get some ice for my eye. TO digress- No idea how she got my eye. I really wish they handled it better as a company. I am scared of getting a wax now because clearly they are not trained properly (someone who has been there for years)and there no precautions in place in case something like this happens.

I have been going to this location for a very long time now but today I received the worst service yet! It’s almost like the more you go somewhere they feel as though they have locked you in and then they can treat you however! Well I will not be returning to that location and keep in mind they have a very high turnover rate and wax specialist call out often. Also you can’t just go with any specialist you may leave unsatisfied. It’s just so disheartening ☹️

I had to give this professional a shout out because the quality of work was excellent! Amber from European Wax Center in Coolidge Corner did a fantastic job on my very thick, slightly off in shape and overgrown eyebrows. She takes her time! She puts in the extra effort to make sure your eyebrows are symmetrical before slapping the wax on. This was so appreciated coming from a girl who was on the edge of switching over to a new waxing location for correction of eyebrow shape! A big thank you to you and if you are in need of eyebrow services pick AMBER!

I booked an appointment with Sela after seeing some good reviews on here and she was amazing! So nice and friendly, and the wax was one of the best I’ve ever gotten at any EWC center. She was very thorough and encouraged me to check if there were any spots that I wanted her to clean up more, which I really appreciated. Will definitely be coming back

I write this review with the hopes that other users see this and seriously re-consider their decision to book with this location. I’ve been visited other locations of EWC several times and have never had a negative experience until this one. First, the waxer who was assigned to me didn’t bother introducing herself to me, which is highly unusual based on my experience at other locations (I’m sure other regulars understand this). Second, the waxer completely skipped the part of trimming my hair before waxing, which again is highly unusual. She then proceeded to rush through the entire procedure, aggressively throwing the used wax sticks into the trash bins while I held back my pain. Even after I asked her to slow down twice, she ignored my request and aggressively continued the procedure, leaving me with a strong burning sensation and pain that I’ve never felt anywhere else. The entire procedure was so rushed that it ended in 4 minutes (when the allocated normal time is 15 minutes). Once the job was done, she loudly pushed the bed against the wall and squished my shoes against the corner of the room. I had to crawl to pick up my shoes and not ONCE did she apologize. Lastly, I told the receptionist that I did not want this particular waxer to work with me ever again but she didn’t even bother to ask why.Overall, VERY poor, rushed and rude service that left a really bad impression

I have been coming to this location for a couple of sessions and both times I saw Sela. She is amazing!! She made me feel very comfortable during my Brazilian, wax was great temperature and I did not experience the bumps after.I also got my eyebrows done! And she did such a wonderful job; the redness was minimal and she listened to what I wanted. She did not thin them out and somehow managed to give them a wonderful shape.Ask for Sela if you ever come to this location! She is the absolute best!!

Sela was amazing! Ive been wandering around to different locations trying to find a good waxer and I finally found her. She made my waxing experience painless and as smooth as possible. Very friendly and outgoing! Will be my new person moving forward.

Just finished my second Brazilian with Sela. She made it as pain-free as possible. She does a great job of making you feel at ease. She does a thorough job and makes sure all the hair is removed efficiently. I will be coming back in 6 weeks to see her again! :)

I saw Gina today for a full leg wax and eye brows. I have never been waxed before. She made me feel so comfortable .. and did such a good job. she paid attention and got every single hair and didn’t finish until the job was done. Quick, painless, efficient. A lot of money for nothing. First time there and didnt even get a hello coming in the door. The greeting was do you have an appointment? I personally find that rude. How about a hello first and lets go from there. The next thing said to me after I gave my name, was if I was going to be late I needed to call them. I was 10 minutes early but the way it was said to me made me question my appointment time. It was just strange.Then, the waxing (lower leg, not a big deal)...the technician talked so much I wasnt sure if she thought she needed to calm me down or just looked to talk a lot. Either way, it was too much. Not to mention at the end the product upsells (that according to them, I JUST HAD TO HAVE!)After all that, my legs werent even smooth. Like I said in the beginning...a lot of money for nothing. Stay at home and shave your own legs!

Recently I decided to go to this location because its closer to my school and I was anxious to meet another girl and wondered if the service was going to be different. I was so so so pleasantly surprised! I was waxed by a girl named Sela who was so so nice and welcoming. She make the experience so calm and comfortable for me. front desk staff was very frendly . I will definitely be back to this location.

Ive never paid so much for a wax, and quality was really bad. They use a really thick layer of wax, let it dry completely and then remove it slowly. Then they add more wax. Ive never been to a place that requires a double wax in the same spots. Probably because this technique is bad- you are not supposed to let wax dry before removing and you are not supposed to slowly peel off. It pulls on the skin more and makes you more irritated. After wax, they insist that you buy a pass or schedule next apt. No thanks. Update: my skin is extremely irritated and peeling off. In 15 years of getting waxed, this has never happened to me!

I been going to this place for more than 6 months. The girls at the front desk are always nice. My waxer is just beyond perfect. Every time I go I leave happy. She is always professional and does an awesome job! I totally recommend to have any type of wax with Ana the Brazilian girl she is the best😊.

First time doing a Brazilian Wax. I was very scared, nervous, anxious... Gina was my waxer and she made me feel VERY COMFORTABLE. she was very gentle and funny. I recommend everyone to do it with her.

Aly is hands down the nicest waxer there. She makes you feel like you still have some dignity and totally understands when you unexpectedly flinch. Shes quick and tries to get your through it as painlessly as possible. My go-to gal!

I’ve had my brows by 3 different staff members and have only found 1 that actually listens and ASKS BEFORE applying wax what I want to do. Too bad she doesn’t work there anymore and I’m too hesitant to trust another one. Ugh going to need to look for another location to finish my wax pass.

Due to so many changes in my schedule.I was finally able to return, and lucked out on meeting an Ari.Shes absolutely fantastic.She made my Brazilian as painless as possible, and her laid back demeanor put me at ease.Thanks a bunch!

So...where do I start? Have been doing wax for 10 years. I booked brazilian, full leg and underarm- they use hard wax and its not good for all areas and better works on small thin spots. Hair were removed in different directions what potentially cause an ingrown hair and skin irritation. Wax were applied in thick layers multiple times in the same area- resulted in a bad skin reaction. About 20% of hair were still there on waxed areas and I sadly realized I would have to go rewax in few days anyway so I stopped the waxer half way.Manager was not there (as I was told) and I had to pay for 50% service- I was also told by the front desk that if i dont pay- I would be chased by police (how nice is that...)- I was informed that manager would call me in two days- hopefully she will. I paid $100- completely wasted money, I have a bad reaction so I cant even rewax sooner than 3-4 days, I was insulted by the front desk and manager will (hopefully) call me only in 2 days. I honestly have seen much better customer care in the village in Cambodia. Needless to say- I will never be back, I will never recommend anyone going there, I will do my best to spread the word about my experience.Its a shame...I dont think businesses like European Wax in Brookline deserve to exist.Update: It has been 5 days and I havent heard from the manager yet.

They offered me a “deal” which is a scam as a first time costumer. Charging my card every month more than a hundred dollars. I only got one service from them and they charged me $132 when I called to cancel the next months payment they did not refund me or at least charge me only the full price of my only service but they also charged me a cancellation fee of $25 for one service. The staff at the front desk is rude and not professional at all raising their voice on the phone. Recently their website was hacked and a lot of costumer information was compromised and they where taking down peoples credit card info at the front desk for future “reference”.

The technician waxed over the same spot twice and lifted my skin. It was so painful, and paying $22 to get your skin ruined is just the definition of a “great service”. I emailed them and they never even bother replying.

The best high end wax in town for the price

Ruined my eyebrows completely. I told the waxer I was trying to grow my brows and she left me with skinny eyebrow and not even shaped nicely or evenly. Awful. Don’t go! Just adding: they wont return my money. I have to either get awful waxed brows or give it to someone else... who do I hate that much that I can give this money to?

My daughter was late eight minutes for her appointment, to her surprise they told her to reschedule. shes new in town and not familiar with the area. NEVER AGAIN.

It was my first time here. I was very satisfied with their service. I went for full face wax. It was easy and painfree. They even do free touchup if you come back in less than 5 days.

They were able to fit me in last min, which was great and i never knew about their first time customer discount. Although the customer service was great the brazilian was not the best. Before starting we clarified we would remove EVERYTHING (the typical brazilian). I went home to find quite a lot of hair. I should have indeptly checked with a mirror before leaving. Im am not sure if this is just how they do them here or its maybe because of the discount but i could not see myself paying 60-70 for such a sub-par waxing service. I will not be cheating on my regular wax company again!

I went to the Coolidge Corner location last Saturday morning for my first Brazilian wax. I read online what to do to prepare and did such. When I went in the front desk staff were very friendly and the waiting room looked clean. I was called back a few minutes later by the waxer (I forget her name). Once we went into the room I got undressed and she started wiping. I thought she was going to go through the process with me as I told her this was my first wax. She abruptly stopped, explained to me she had other clients booked after me and then said rudely what are your questions. After asking she did the first strip of wax which hurt more than anything in life I have experienced! I said can you give me a minute before the next one? She stated again that she did not have time to give me a break because she had other clients. After the second strip I screamed and said I did not want to continue this it was far too painful. She said I’ve been doing this for over 10years, my response was I’m sure you have but this is not for me. She told me I could get dressed and as I pointed out the wax that was still left on my vagina and my skin was BLEEDING! She gave me a tissue and walked out of the room. I got dressed after placing tissue on my areas of skin that were still bleeding and left. Waxing is not for me I found it to be way too painful however this waxer was extremely unprofessional. She was blonde. She looked like she had been on an all night prior party bender with her makeup from the previous night still on. She had on scrubs that were completely wrinkled. Inside the exam room the floor was filthy, I know it is winter but clients are getting undressed the floor should be clean. Again had the experience been nice I could still say this wasn’t for me but I’d refer a friend here, hell no. It was dirty, the waxer was dirty looking and her attitude was stank! Also there was NO one in the waiting room as I left!
