I made an appointment over a month out with Selena and waited patiently rather then seeing someone else, as she assured me we would be a good fit and she could accommodate me.The day before my appointment I get an email saying my appointment is cancelled and she can’t make time for me. I found this very unprofessional. Wouldn’t you know that before you booked me? She even checked in a week prior with me saying we are still on and bring my paperwork. I would think by a week out you would know you were over booked. I work out of town and changed my whole week around to go to this appointment I had been waiting a month for. This is very discouraging and unprofessional especially with the nature of your career. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I have seen several therapists in my past and was very reluctant to go to more therapy or see another therapist. I started seeing Joni with my ex girlfriend through couples counseling. I’m a pretty open person but like any relationship it took time to build rapport and trust. I decided to see her individually outside of the couples sessions. It went incredibly well and exceeded my expectations. I never once felt judged and felt like she helped me work on tools that I could use to manage my mental health on my own.I have also brought my son to see her and he really enjoys going as well. I don’t know if there is ever a time when you go from needing therapy to not needing it however I now feel like it is more of a luxury as opposed to a lifeline or “need.” I feel like I’ve been empowered with the ability to self sooth and pull myself out of hard situations and am incredibly grateful to have her be a part of it.If you’re reading this and wondering whether you should see a therapist, my immediate answer is yes. If you don’t click with your therapist than shop around. You should feel 100% comfortable with them and don’t give up on looking. You also have to be realistic and understand that it’ll take a little bit of time to break the ice and you will have to be open and receptive to wanting change in your life. I hope this helps you making a decision.

Joni is a breath of fresh air. She has been the key to transforming my life to whole hearted living and so much more. Her guidance always comes at the right time and she gives you the tools to navigate life’s obstacles, helps you to continue to grow, and is always an ear to hear what’s happening with you. She is an amazing counselor because she lives her life everyday growing, understanding, and teaching exactly what she named the company, Breathe, Mind, and Body and helps a person embrace each aspect to have profound growth. Even when I feel like I am doing great I always still find golden nuggets of new information with each visit which just help me to grow. I went to her originally based on her knowledge of Brené Brown’s work but this is just one dynamic she pulls from and she has vast knowledge of many psychological teachings to apply what is right for you at the right time. If you are ready change your life, or just continue to grow make an appointment today and changing your life forever.

I participated in the Daring Way Workshop co-facilitated by Joni Evans and immediately received value from this great work based on the research of Brené Brown. I recommend this work to anyone looking to grow and lean into life. Joni knows and lives this work and effectively guides groups to work with and explore this material.

I highly recommend the Daring Way workshop with Joni! It has been a valuable part of my self-work. The workshop digs deep into the content from Brene Browns books Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly in a fun and powerful way and the group setting really enhances the journey. Joni is well versed in Brenes, and a lot of other relevant work, she leads with integrity, and fosters a really beautiful and safe space to dig deep, grow, and flex that vulnerability! Go for it!
