My dad’s ophthalmologist recommended he see Dr. Burt in order to check his glasses prescription. He took his time and did a thorough exam. We really liked him! In fact, every worker in the store was very kind and helpful and we didn’t have to wait at all. My only complaint is that it took so many phone calls to get an answer when I was trying to make the appointment.

Phone system has unlimited call waiting, so it is very difficult to get ahold of anyone. I have called 4 times in the last month waiting for my contact lens samples that were never mailed to me. The last time I called, no one answered, after the phone rang for a solid 2 minutes, and then it hung up on me. I’ve waited on hold for more than 15 minutes each time I’ve called, and received the same answer every time time: “they should be coming soon.” No one here takes time to care for you as a customer. I was also charged $20 for a retina scan review that I did not ask for. The doctor reviewed it without my consent, and no one offered my money back when I confronted them. Don’t waste your time or money with this place. Go somewhere else.

Long story short I hate that this place has really went down hill and I wouldn’t recommend it. Unfortunately I will be considering looking for a new place to get my glasses. I am currently walking around with my glasses being held together by tape in order to avoid visiting this awful place again.Long storyI have been trying to adjust to a new work schedule so I called and asked about walk ins which they said was welcome and recommended I come between (open) 9-12 because normally they run out of spots quickly. I spent several weeks calling between 10-11 to check if they had walk ins available before leaving my house and was told they were done for the day. I wasn’t upset because I was told that they run out quickly until I spoke with someone who then told me that I wasn’t going to get an appointment unless I came at open which is 9 am. I was mostly frustrated at this point because I made it clear to the staff members I first spoke with that I wouldn’t going to be able to be there at opening due to work and was hopeful when they said it wasn’t a problem.Finally I stopped in one day that I had off and was recommended to come in for a walk in app rather than claiming an open appointment at 3:00. At 12:00 I was told that I had a 1-2 hour wait time and that I only had four people ahead of me. It was made very clear to me that I was just waiting for those people to see the doctor before I could be seen. Around 2:30 I checked with staff to see if I was still in line and was then informed that every time someone came in for their appointment it pushed my wait time back further. This really confused me because I thought the whole point of cutting off walk ins was so that your staff wasn’t overwhelmed and customers don’t wait over several hours to be seen. At this point I was now looking at anywhere from 2-3 hours MORE wait time. She was very rude and so therefore I told the lady I was not sitting in my car for that long and that I would just make an appointment. of course by then the 3:00 appointment was booked and she made sure to tell me this very rudely at 2:50.I was so furious I told her I would call later and book an appointment if I needed one. I haven’t made my appointment yet and honestly I will walk around with tape on my glasses before I come to get a new pair after that experience. I had my disabled mother in the car in the heat for 3 hours because the staff wasn’t concerned enough to just be honest about the wait time. The staff have had bad attitudes the last couples times I’ve been seen. There always seems to be long wait times even when you have an appointment.

Not always the variety at a low price as it use to be. Selection is minimal when it comes to frames. Insurance only pays for so much! I wear contacts yet theres a separate fee for a fit! Already paying a lot for plastic lenses for glasses let alone frames Im really not wanting to get because Id prefer real glass with at least scratch protection or transition ones or contacts. Cant get both so do to fit charge I had no choice but get glasses! Then on top of it all. No walk ins welcomed. Drove 45 minutes to make an appointment! Also upon arrival for appointment there was a line! It was after my time of appointment before being checked in and was told that they would allow me to be seen this time, really? I was there on time and if there wasnt a line shed seen that. Not sure if Ill be back after it taking 3 hours total. Had to cancel an appointment due to it! This place use to have fast about great service. Looks as if Ill be looking for a new place that takes my insurance, has variety, no fees on fit for contacts, and doesnt take 3 hours to get everything done!

My experience with Visionworks was a good one they was so polite when I walked in they asked me can they help me one lady was cleaning glasses and she apologized she said she didnt see me and I said no need to apologize you was busy then another lady helped me right away so I was very pleased and satisfy I will be back and I pick up my glasses Tuesday thanks you guys. My insurance covered everything. I was excited.

Long story short, dont go to Visionworks Doctors of Optometry in Bowling Green, Ky. Highly NOT recommended.Long StoryLast week, I had an appointment at Visionworks. I didnt mind when I was told they couldnt run my insurance because of a computer problem. They said that I could swing by next week and they would re-ring me and return what my insurance covered. They even said they would put a note by the computer with my name on it so that when I came in, no matter who was working, they would know what needed to be done. - I didnt mind when it took more than an hour to be seen by the optician even though I had an appointment. I didnt mind that it took more than 30 minutes to checkout. I didnt even mind that I was there for 2 hours.So, when I came in tonight for my re-ring, I was kinda surprised that they said I would have to wait in line for the re-ring because there were four people in front of me... I didnt mind waiting for a half-hour... but after being there 45 minutes and noticing more than four people had been seen and then watching the person who said they would be the one to check me out leave, I started to get upset. I waited an hour and 10 minutes before getting up and asking an employee when someone could re-ring me. She said kinda hatefully Youre going to have to wait your turn.I told her again that I had been there more than an hour for a re-ring. She said full-on hatefully Youre just going to have to wait your turn.At this point, I lost my cool. My voice broke. In a shaking, high-pitched, and quasi panicked voice I said that I had been there more than an hour for a re-ring and that I was told this could be handled if I could just swing by and that no-one had mentioned that swinging by would include the need to wait in line again as if I was seeing the doctor and that I was going to be late for another appointment because I seriously didnt think I would be there for a re-ring more than an hour.She said in a tone that I can only describe as disdainful that I was just going to have to wait.It took more than an hour and twenty minutes to get checked out.

I give one star since the doctors at this location seem kind and professional. They are unfortunately represented by the MOST unorganized, rude beyond belief office staff. Their incompetence is almost comedic..if they werent a detriment to other peoples health and the doctors they represent. You literally couldnt pay me to return to this facility.

2+ Hours for Eye Exam!!!!My girlfriend had an appointment today (6/29/21) at 1PM. Finally saw a Dr at 2:35!!! Why even bother with an appointment?!They then asked her to wait for a pupil measurement and after watching a male employee walk around and do nothing but talk to girls for another 20 minutes while she waited she left without completing the appointment.Either they have a receptionist or office manager that needs training on scheduling or the big chain glasses company only cares about money and requires they over-book. Either way, avoid this place.

I feel the employees are very nice at Visonworks. Dr. Bert is a great eye doctor and is very caring. He explains the entire process. You can tell Dr. Bert enjoys his profession. Martha did my eye screening. She also enjoys her work and is wonderful. I have gone to Visionworks several years. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Great job.👍

Employees were friendly and helpful the only reason I didnt choose 5 was my appointment took 2 and 1/2 hours but they were so busy. They did work as quick as possible and again was very helpful. I do enjoy going there.

Their website says they take walk-in’s, but they don’t. I tried calling to make an appointment because of insurance for over three weeks multiple times a day and could not get through. Finally got through and got an appointment weeks in advance and stopped in to see if I could get in earlier. Manager said “her doctors” are seeing 8 patients an hour which is against CDC guideline (according to her,) and they cannot accommodate walk-ins. She tried convincing me her doctors are overworked, although at $69/exam they are making $480/hour, $4,800/day, $27,360/week, $118,560/month for consultation service.

I have visited this location every year for the last 30 years. I have seen many Dr come and go. It was a decent affordable place to go. I have seen such major decline in the all around busness . The clients are moved threw like cattle to see the Dr. Then we are rushed by the Tech that looks as if she rolled out of the bar before work to pick out cheap plastic frames that are overpriced. After 30 years its time to move on.

Excellent service. Got a very thorough examination. Dr. Henderson did a wonderful job of explaining each area and condition of my vision. New prescription is very clear and precise. Ive gone to Visionworks for several years and will continue to do so for my vision needs.

I like this business, they took great measures for safety such as taking temps, taking a full history, wiping down pens, all surfaces touched on machines, seats, desks, etc. Where they fail is in trying on glasses frames. I must have tried on a dozen glasses frames which went right back up on the display for someone else to try on. They should have you set them down on the counter surface below after you try them on for an associate to wipe down before returning them to the display before someone else tries them on, if they really want to be safety conscious. Just my two cents worth. They are trying hard, you can tell. Just an oversight that needs corrected.

Absolutely horrible. My boyfriend suggested we make our appointments together there since he had been prior and had no issues with them, I agreed. We arrived 10 minutes late due to our hour and thirty minute drive, and since we were noticed 11 minutes after our appointment time, they could not see us since the 10 minute window was up. They apparently filled up two appointments within one minute. We then rescheduled for a different date, a week later, we received the day before reminder call to find out they had not even scheduled two appointments, only one. They then said they could not schedule the second appointment until almost two weeks later. Outrageous. Do not go.

The doctor was great, the techs I spoke with were great, but I was told my glasses would be done the same day and they arent. I was told they would be done at 3:00, then 4:00. I have over an hour drive to get there, so I waited around for a call. I called them at 6:45, was told they would check on it, and then never heard back from them. Its now the next morning and Im still waiting for a call. I dont mind that the glasses werent finished in a day. I do mind wasting a whole day because no one I spoke to seemed to care about a customer that just spent over $400 of his own money, not including insurance. I will NEVER go back.

The staff and Dr. Burt were very friendly and efficient. Dr. Burt explained what was happening with my eyes in a way that was easy to understand. The eye exam was very thorough and there was very little wait before I was called in. They also have an excellent frame selection with affordable prices. Highly recommended.

Im highly disappointed in the experience I had in the store today. I arrived early for my 1PM appointment and the registration line took nearly 30 minutes. After I gave my name they stated that I was booked for Sunday Jan. 3rd. I know this to be incorrect because I was confirmed on Saturday the 2nd and the store is even closed on Sundays. The lady at the registration said that there was nothing she could do and that there was likely a glitch in their online booking system. She got the manager Christina. I spoke with Christina who in short was not able to provide any explanation. I advised that I even called at 9:34AM this morning to confirm my appointment today at 1PM. I was confirmed this morning that everything was good to go. The only thing Christina was good at was providing a big does of attitude. I left with no resolution and fired up to say the least. Its pretty bad when you have someone like Christina as a GM, who is not shy to speak her mind, and to not offer up any type of solution at the store today. Needless to say Im very disappointed in the service that was provided today. Im writing this in hopes of some feedback from corporate. I asked for a contact to write an email and all she provided was a very generic customer service number. I guess if she acted and conducted herself the way she did today she didnt want me to get in contact with anyone above her. Its a shame if someone plans their entire day around being prompt to an appointment only to be let down.(attached image of the phone call if you need timestamp, might be good to ask why appointments are being confirmed. My guess is they didnt even look)Update: 1/6/2021It was nice that Visionworks reached out on my Google post wanting to help.After sending an update to the email listed below there has been no response, action, acknowledgement, etc... it appears that they want to seem like they want to help to the public, but in fact don’t care. 48 hours and still no feedback. Officially lost my families business, they do not value your time.Update 1/7/2021As of now Visionworks has not responded to any email sent. It appears that they simply wanted to respond to the comment on here to make it appear that they were doing the right thing. Highly disappointed with them all around. I have since called another local chain whom I wont name, but will surely leave a nice comment about on their review (if youd like to know). They were AWESOME! I called, they got me an appointment straight away, and it was a superior experience. They were on time with their appointment and as soon as I pulled up they had me seeing an eye doctor. I can remember the last time I went to Visionworks before this past weekend the experience was poor. They are on their time and are never on time.Update 1/9/21Still no call or response back from Visionworks. Email was sent the same day they replied to this. I believe they have been given ample opportunity to reply back.Update 1/12/21Still no call or email after emailing the requested information per Visionworks’ initial reply.My question for Visionworks corporate. Went in for my 2021 exam. Renee provided a quick, efficient pre-test. Dr Henderson did a thorough exam, reviewed my Optos pictures, and even helped explain the difference between a lined bifocal and a progressive lens. GM Christina worked with me as I ordered my new glasses. Very pleased with my visit.

As someone with no Insurance, I’m very hesitant to go to any place for any medical issues including my eyes. What they helped a lot. I brought in glasses that they were able to put lenses in, The doctor was super nice and helpful with the whole process and it didn’t cost as much as we quoted. I would highly suggest them to any of my friends who need glasses, and will be definitely going back to get more. 10/10

If you’re looking to waste your time go ahead but I would not recommend this place at all. Not a good location. I had a set appointment 30 minutes after they opened at 9:30 am. They had overbooked so badly and took so many walk ins, that it took an hour for them to see me. In addition, every time I try to call, no one ever picks up. No voicemail, no waiting service, no nothing. It just rings and rings. Very bad management.

I got glasses from here back in January and one of the side pieces fell off within a week of having them. I brought them back instead of trying to fix them myself and they told me theyd call me within a couple weeks with a pair of new frames ready for me. Now it’s April and I still haven’t heard anything back + when I try to contact them I’m immediately put on hold. Why is it so difficult to contact someone at this location?

Dr. Burt was amazing, very friendly and professional in everything he and his staff did for me today. Honestly if it wasnt for him finding the problems in my eyes today. I couldve been in really bad shape with eye / brain pressure problems that could become much worse if he hadnt caught it. Severely disappointing experience. After taking nearly 1.75 hours to even get contacts ordered, I returned to the front area and was placed at a desk to wait to order glasses. After an hour of sitting there and being addressed by no staff members, I was told that my chart had been lost and that I could go and they would call me.**EDIT: An employee did call me back and was very helpful.

No one in office seemed happy to be there. There were a couple of fake happy people working.The doctor was fantastic. Couldnt ask for better from him. Ended up leaving without the 2 pair of glasses i needed because of this. And the covid rules for. that office need to be eased up. Couldnt bring wife in to help pick out/purchase glasses with insurance. But i was allowed to take frames outside show them to her and come back in. Makes no sense.Now I have to make an appt elsewhere, possibly Nashville, will not be back to this location.

Worst place ever and we will never be back. They have messed up my daughters glasses two years in a row with absolutely no remorse. All I received today was a apology and was basically told sorry for your inconvenience .Not let me see if there is something we can do to correct OUR MISTAKE. I even had a conversation with the Supervisor when the order was placed on September 5 explaining to her the issue that we had in 2019 with them mixing up both of my daughters lenses. I pleaded with her and was very nice asking if she could do whatever possible to make sure their glasses were not messed up again.I wish we would have never decided to give them the benefit of the doubt after the last mistake . Because that completely back fired.After I contacted the manager today I was told that even though we had already waited two weeks for them to come in. We now have to wait another two weeks all because THEY sent the wrong prescription to VSP !!Absolutely worst customer service I have ever experienced !!

When I went there last year, the lady at the desk said I needed to know what insurance I have because I had forgotten but its obviously in the system and this morning for my appointment, instead of them telling me when I made my appointment that they no longer do payments over the phone, they decided to tell me when I got there and had to reschedule my appointment. I lost my glasses recently, and Im a constant contact lenses wearer. Well theyre handy when my eyes need to rest. I went to the eye doctor same name different location in Louisville 1.5yrs ago. Wouldnt you know it, they only wrote it for 1 year not 2. With the covid-19 theyre not allowed to take walk-ins are the street appointment only, but Ive got some things coming up in the middle part of July that will require me to need them more. They got me in and took care of me without an appointment. Thats what I call customer service.

Every time I come to this store they have some fake reason as to why I cant get contacts forcing me to spend more money & theyre always losing my prescription. The front desk woman tried to say I never bought contacts there then when I showed her the transaction on my account she was dumbfounded. They dont do their jobs. The front desk woman has a bad attitude. ill never return here. If I could give zero stars I would.

The front desk staff is unorganized, rude and dismissive. We drove more than an hour to get glasses were unable to pull up insurance info even though I could easily pull it up on their website. It took them an hour to call and verify insurance. I could understand if they were busy but they were taking smoke breaks and reorganizing their desk. The only saving grace was the nice associate who finally helped us get glasses. She was quite pleasant.

Excellent care. Great with pediatric patients. Large selection of frames, super affordable. Its easy to get a same day appointment. The staff was wonderful to myself and son who both had to get glasses. The actual appointment took no time at all. Very minimal wait times. Our glasses were available for pick up within an hour of choosing our frames. Other places you have to waiting 1-3 weeks for them to come in. I highly recommend Vision Works to anyone needing an eye exam or just a new pair of glasses that wont break the bank. Their selection of frames in both adult (men/women) and children is unparalleled.

UPDATE! 12/20/19 on 12/6/19 my wife went to Visionworks to be interrogated. They found out that they need to be remade. Well guess what happened to her old glasses while she was there... The eye care technician scratched her old glasses. It is hard to see but when the light reflects a certain way you see vertical streaks from the top to the bottom. I sent two emails because I forgot to include my info on the first one. The second one was never replied to. So today, 12/20/19, I call Visionworks and I am literally asked my wifes name four times in a 20 MINUTE LONG CALL. To be told oh yeah we have them. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever had.BEWARE! This place WAS excellent. I went in to get a new pair of eye glasses. A month later and four calls I finally received my glasses. The two biggest issues I have were the two separate times whomever answered the phone promised they would call me back when they arrive. The second the left eye isnt my prescription and I cant use them. Then I had to wait for an hour to have someone help me about them.

I seen Dr Burt. Really like him. He listens when I tell him what I see. (I have been seeing double.) The other doctors there have dismissed it. Im glad he is back! The selection of frames are not as great as they use to be. There are times when the girls are just standing around talking when they could be assisting someone. I looked at frames for a good 10 minutes and no one ever ask if I needed help.

Great experience...Had a. Appointment so I didnt wait long. The Dr was very nice .Found a problem with my vision and referd me to a specialist. It’s really hit or miss when you visit this place. Somedays you’ll wait 45 minutes to be seen and the staff are rude, wont say anything to you during the eye exams. But then some days you’ll be seen right away and have super nice staff that walk you through all the tests. For the most part the actually doctor is usually pretty nice though. One of the only reasons I keep going back though is because they have always run specials and they are reasonable priced.

My experience started off really bad… Receptionist was beyond rude rolling her eyes seem like she wasn’t wanting to be there… So I contacted customer service got right back to me… Then it went to go get the little air popped in my eyes and that lady was Very kind… The eye doctor also very kind… The manager that talk to me about the incident with the receptionist I want to say her name is Christina she was awesome and very kind… I do want to say the kindest person in there that goes above and beyond for customers and makes them feel extremely welcome is Devan. She is a pleasure to be around… 🥰🥰🥰

Vision Works in Bowling Green is honestly one of the best costumer services I have ever had. Today I realized my contact was feeling strange and saw that there was a tear in my contact. When I got to Visions Works the lady at the front desk helped me right away. I walked out with a trail pair of contacts until my order box of contacts came in. 10/10 costumer services here.

Terrible terrible terrible service. I went on a Friday- had an appointment for 5:45pm after I got through with my classes for the day. Stayed well past closing time (~7:30pm) waiting for everything to be processed. Initially I was told my insurance has a $170 dollar budget for glasses which I know to be true, but only after picking out a pair of glasses and waiting for them to be processed was I told there would be an additional fee for anything over $150. It was very clear these people are inexperienced and don’t know what they are doing but i just complied and picked out another pair. Not to mention I had to sit and wait for the employees to do their job and listen to them complain that they couldn’t leave because I was there. I wish I were exaggerating. I was told my glasses would be in on Monday. I went on Monday and was told it was a mistake and I would receive a call when they came in. I have waited 2 weeks with no contact - finally called to see if they came in or not. Apparently they came in but they lost my glasses- they say the computer system shows they have them but they can’t physically find them and they have been “clocked out” whatever that means. I have been on hold for well over 30 minutes waiting to hear if they have them or not. They are blaming the insurance company but today was supposed the be the latest day they would come in, and I’m leaving town- so who knows if I will ever get my glasses. I was supposed to leave town around 12:30pm, but they say they will let me know before 7pm. I have been very patient with them but this is just unbelievable and incredibly annoying.

I had a great experience. Knowledgeable staff, great fitting, and huge selection. I can SEE! Highly recommended. My glasses were ready same day even though store was crowded. The rep that worked with me reworked the different deals and promos several times until he got me a great deal.

Had an appointment on a Saturday at 1:00 and 1:15. We got to the office at 12:25 to fill out paper work and possibly get in earlier. We’ve had our exam which took 5min for both kids. 2 hours later we are still waiting for the dr. Seems that it doesn’t make a difference if you make an appointment or not. Walk-ins have all been seen first.😡 just went up and asked when we should expect to be seen and after she got up to go check she told me we are actually next and that they’ve been super busy today🤔 🤔🤔🤔

I requested my glasses to not have any coating on them since these coatings scratches so easy. That where coated anyways. They told me that if they ever scratch to bring them in for a free polishing. The coating was so soft the hair on my head has destroyed the inside of my lenses it to the point I cant use my glasses. So I go it for my free polishing to be told they never have offered anyone a polishing and they dont do it.Dont support business like this guys!

The staff was very kind. It’s just a confusing layout honestly. For someone going there the first time it’s definitely hard to tell which desk to go to to sign in and which one to go to pay out. There’s like 7 desks in the place and they act like you’re dumb for not knowing which one to go to.

Was way 2 busy and crowded no one on one time. Was not very polite was just in a rush to get 2 next person and still had 2 wait 4 ever to get done with my appointment because they were constantly switching back n forth with different patience. I will not be returning for another visit.

Went to get an eye exam and new glasses filled out paperwork and waited 45 min just to do an eye test and the lady doing said test had the personality of a wet mop when that was done i waited another 45 min to see the doctor. He was a outstanding dr. Very patient and polite and answered any questions i had. Two days later called to see my glasses were ready tSo i could pick them up the lady over the phone said they were ready and i could pick them up drove an hour to the place and find out they are not ready yet it would be another 2 hours. I didnt even get an apology or explanation just a come back in a couple hours so i sit here and wait i guess. Overall great dr. But a bunch of incompetent gossip queens in the front of the store.

Vision works is the best great doctors they took very well to my daughters at there appointment an treated them great my 4 year old loved picking out what glasses she wanted an my 2 year old did an amazing job with the doctor amazing staff they will always have my businessBut sad they didn’t have lens for my daughters glasses but they are amazing so glad my daughter first eye exam was with an amazing teamThank you so much vision works

I scheduled two back to back appointments. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled appointment. We ended up waiting for 45 mins. We decided to go outside for a drink. Come back in and they were calling my husbands name. Told him as he rushed back in they skipped over him saying they called him 3 times and would rotate him back in. The lady was rude, we even told the front desk. So we waited another 30 mins. Need I remind you these were back to back appointments, so technically I would have been the next patient but not true. We get the exams done and he opted for contacts, I opted for glasses. Even with insurance his contacts were almost 200$. With insurance covering the cost of my frames and lenses, I was charged 100$. We couldn’t pay together because it was different patients although the insurance were the same. When I asked why so much and asked to break down the receipt, they told me the numbers were for full price and the total amount billed to the insurance was at the bottom. Three weeks later my glasses are still not here. Would not recommend them, although the doctors were super nice the experience was horrible.

First time patient for me. Absolutely loved it. Dr. Buckner took great time and effort and all the support staff was helpful and courteous. It was busy, so bring some time, but I never felt that they did not so their absolute best to see me in a timely manner.

Lady that called me back called me Tyler. When doing the picture test she did not tell me what she was doing. When doing the air puff test, she did not saying anything about what she was doing or if there was going to be a puff of air. Very rude. Doctor was super nice though

One pair of glasses ready, never called or contacted me to pick up. My other pair, lenses ordered from distribution center, may not be ready as promised. Also wasnt informed we could get insurance on our glasses.Very unorganized and under trained employee putting in our eyeglasses order. Overall in there for almost 3 hours. Also not given my sons RX or paperwork for school. I dont see us going back here.

It took almost an hour and a half before I was seen by the optometrist for 5 minutes.Then another half an hour to order contacts/glasses. The contacts lady began working with me, then stopped to work on something else while I was waiting.My 11:30am appt turned into me not leaving until 2PM due to ungodly wait times.This was the most unpleasant experience I’ve had just to get an eye exam.Please work on more efficient scheduling and try not to waste 2 hours of your patients’ day in the waiting room.

Most unprofessional vision clinic in Bowling Green.Appointment is a waste of time. Still sitting here wating on doctor two hours after my appointment time.Cant get a complete eye exam on insurance because the equipment they use is not covered by insurance. Only place I have ever been prescribed glasses without the doctor even know what there actually dealing with.If you complain about the two hour past appointment time the get ruee and throw you attitude.
