I went into Cora&Co, hoping for a soft natural balayage and walked out with my head entirely bleached. My hair is permanently ruined and yellow. I asked for them to fix it, and there was no compromise. I am now having to spend $350 on color recover. I do not recommend.

As an ex employee of Colorific, I am beyond excited for the new ownership. Amanda and Denise have both worked there for years, knowing the ins and outs of the company. They knew the things that were not working and I truly believe they have already made great changes. They offer in house continuing education for all of their stylists to stay on top of industry trends and sanitation guidelines. I give them major props for taking on this giant venture- especially during a global pandemic! They take everyones health and safety very seriously and are taking all precautions to continue serving their clients. I have since moved to California, but come home every few months and Cora & Co. Salon is the only place I get my hair done! Amanda knocks it out of the park every time! I cant wait to watch this salon grow and succeed! See you again in a few months!

This salon is the bees knees! The stylists are very skilled and definitely know what theyre doing. One gal there has cut my hair perfectly for years now, and I refuse to even think about going elsewhere. The salon has always been clean and very welcoming. The stylists have always been very professional and go the extra mile to really wow their clients. I have seen some super awesome styles and colors done while getting my own hair cut. Cora & Co staff is amazing! They’re super friendly, polite, and very encouraging with whatever style they’re given. All you have to do is talk to them! They genuinely care about their clients, and explain the ins/outs and dos/don’ts of hair care and style. Like don’t jack up your hair with a box dye and expect a miracle fix in one visit, great hair may take a few tries. The staff also help create an inviting and trendy atmosphere. No poor lighting here, just smiling faces and inspiration to venture into the everyday looking awesome! Plus, everything is super clean and well organized.Most importantly, I am super particular about my hair. I take time to decide whatever I want to try with it, short/long, dark/light, special treatments and recently venturing into pink. And I trust my stylist, one of the co-owners, with it all! I constantly get compliments, and it’s all thanks to her! It looks awesome!! I know each time I will end up with the best possible outcome no matter what mess I may walk in with, like when I had to cut a chunk of hair from the back because a comb got stuck thanks to a child. Amanda does the best work! She has been cutting and coloring my hair for the last 5 years. She did it once and I never let anybody else touch it again. The highlights are always clean and consistent. The tone is always perfect and my hair is always healthy and never left fried! The rest of the staff is super friendly and welcoming!

Denise has cut my hair for years. She has a great shop and she does an awesome job! She always asks what I’d like and she is always up on the latest trends. I just tell her to do whatever she thinks would be good and I’ve never left with a bad hair cut. I would recommend her and her salon to anyone.

The co-owner has been doing my hair for years now & I am very selective on who I let touch my hair & eyebrows. She always does an amazing job, ensures that I’m happy with the results & makes it easy to communicate with about appointments. Im actually pretty particular who touches my hair. Ive never had anyone do me wrong here and I always leave satisfied. If theres ever been any issue, they were always happy to adjust when necessary. Definitely recommend.

Formerly Colorific, 2 of the hairdressers purchased the salon. One of the owners was there, viewed the picture of my request, but still let me pay $252.00 and leave looking crazy WITHOUT her saying a word. Rather than the deer in headlights approach, you might want to stop people from leaving with crazy hair.The vibe is super unwelcoming, stiff, unfriendly, and judgmental. I was there for over 4 hours with a mask on, hot and thirsty, no water was offered AND I was not allowed to go outside to get my own,.. I asked after hour 3, lol.If they would have said ANYTHING about it not turning out like my request, or letting them fix it, I would not be writing this. EVERYONE says I should have said something but it’s not my job to set their business standards,.. now we know.

Same day appointment. Affordable. Very clean. Trey is the best!!! He was great at styling and cutting hair (and I have difficult, multiracial hair), very knowledgeable about hair and great conversationalist. He definitely loves what he does.

It is always great getting your hair done at Colorific, everyone is very nice and accommodating. Ive been with Tracy for many years, she is not only my hairdresser I also consider her a friend. I feel they keep up on the latest styles and techniques and the variety of haircare products availabe can meet any of the needs you might have to keep your hair looking fantastic.

Went here for years and had fine service. Lots of staff turnover so difficult to have the same stylist for a long time. Finally decided to stop going once they were rude to me over the phone while scheduling and scheduled me with the wrong stylist. Then they claimed that I should have confirmed more over the phone (which I did and they still messed up the appointment) and did not seem bothered by their mistake. There are better salons in Bloomington/Normal that won’t waste your time.

Cora & Co Salon is absolutely lovely. Nothing but friendly smiles as soon as I walked in. I really appreciate the fact that they take everyones temperature as soon as they walk in due to covid-19(not to mention they cleaned the thermometer before and after every use) that really shows how much they care not only for their customers but for their staff as well.I showed my stylist a few pictures of pink hair and I tell you what, it turned out far better than the pictures(which are probably photoshopped anyway lol) After she was done styling I thought ya know, I should have gone a tad shorter so I let her know and she trimmed it shorter without hesitation. Love the vibes as you walk in, the staff is great, the music is the best haha :)

I have been resisting the urge to post about this place. And this is the first time I rate a place but I think I need to warn others about how horrible the experience is. The staff is nice but they definitely do not know what they are doing. The entire time I felt like the girl was guessing about my hair color and towards the end she let someone else blow dry my hair and didn’t even look at the final result (which was a disaster). Finally, I had to go somewhere else and fix it. I’ve never felt my hair as damaged as it felt after she colored and cut it.I really hope you take responsibility for your work and at least try to create a positive brand with your clients. Please re-evaluate the type of people that are hired. clients do not pay 100+ dollars for subpar service.

Quality Color and Cutswhen I get my hair serviced I value experience with a contemporary look. Ive been very pleased here. PS I always request an experienced stylist.

Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Ive had amazing experiences and some not so great ones. It really depends on the person that you schedule with. I recommend getting one of the master designers or whatever they are called. There are amazing color options and some super creative stylists with those colors. Its a huge place and not at all private. Sometimes, Id prefer a more relaxing, comfy, secluded environment instead of a wide open, brightly lit room.

Ive gone to more expensive salons and wasnt as happy as I am with Colorific. You just cant go wrong with this place. Ive gotten my hair done for almost $200 at other places and wasnt satisfied. Here I got it done for $40 and was THRILLED. Go to Tyler! Hes the best - knew exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly.

Was a terrible experience for me. Me hair is curly and they don’t use blower, they use only straightener. I had to go to Walmart to buy a straightener to fix my hair at home. If you have a curly hair, there isn’t the best place to go.

I would like to personally commend one of your stylists, Sarah. I called to just get a simple thin and trim, and I needed it quick. I was literally in and out of there and this was with me calling on very short notice. It’s not too often I’m pleased with going to get my haircut, but I was truly pleased with her service and accommodating my needs to be in and out. I am reviewing with 4 stars because I have been here in the past and didn’t leave quite as satisfied with the prices of getting my hair colored. I have very thick and long hair and while I understand I probably require a lot of product, it just seemed a little steep in pricing especially because I left with wet, unstyled hair because I didn’t want to pay more for that service. Nor did I want to stand at the styling station and do it myself. Colorific seems like an okay place to get your hair done..depending on the day.

I am extremely unimpressed... first they scheduled me for just a consultation when I had asked for a cut and color so I only got the cut. The cut left a lot of dead ends and doesn’t appear to be even in places VERY RUSHED. But I did schedule to have my hair dyed the next week the same day at the same time. Went in today for that dye and the person I had the appointment wasn’t even working today nor was there any appointment for me scheduled at all... again extremely frustrated and was only asked if I wanted to schedule a different time Nothing to try and correct the mistake. Again BERY disappointing

NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They may be nice, but they have NO CLUE how to do hair. I have been personally, and was so so disappointed. I paid way too much for the quality of work I received. My friend just went there and they literally ruined her hair. She has red splotches on her scalp from being burned by the bleach. She also has yellow roots, and splotches of color everywhere. They did not even apologize to her and charged her 150$ for ruining her hair. They also will not style your hair unless you pay an extra 10$. I find this totally absurd, how can you tell if you truly like you color/cut when your hair is wet?!!!!! They will also charge you for every little thing separately, so they are not, (as they claim), very affordable. I am super picky personally, and I would never go to this salon again. If you value your money and your hair, go somewhere else!(They do not even deserve 1 star, I had to choose a rating though)

I went for the first, and probably last, time today. I had made an appointment, I was not a walk-in. I had picked a hairstyle out from a hairstyling website specific for thick hair, which mine is. I showed the stylist, and she was ok, sure, I can do that. About 1/2 way thru my cut she was interrupted by the receptionist to tell her she gave her a walk in and told them it would be about 10 min. My thought was great, I dont know how she can finish my cut right in 10 min. Well, she didnt. Not really even close to the picture, and there wasnt any reason why it couldnt be done. I had long one length hair and I was going a lot shorter, with what was supposed to be shoulder length with a ton of layers framed around my face. The length is about the only thing right. Thats when I found out about the extra $10 for them to dry and style, or I could do the styling bar myself. Since she seemed so rushed to get to the walk-in, I just left as is, and pretty much finished the haircut myself when I got home. Very disappointed.

Great people always nice and with a smile

I went in and got my hair bleached, toned, dyed and cut. I had my hair completely botched and paid almost 200 dollars to have my hair worked on. I had my hair cut almost 4 inches shorter than what I wanted, told the stylist many times I wanted shoulder length. My hair was purple in front and neutral blonde in back. It was a disaster. Some stylists there seem trustworthy and others dont. My stylist didnt educate me on the fact that my hair needed to be bleached twice, but went ahead and toned and dyed anyways. Also she didnt tell me that my hair goal was going to be extremely hard to execute, only later did I learn from another stylist that gray is difficult to achieve. I wouldnt have chosen that color if I was educated and actually had good service. I was compensated for my hair cut but was told that I could come back and have my hair “fixed” for free. I declined because my hair already had so much work done on it at the time, that it was going to be extremely damaging to do another color correction. I appreciate the gesture but think that salons should just prevent mishaps before they happen versus me having to waste time and sacrifice health of my hair over color correction, and bleaching many times when it wasnt necessary.

I paid $102 (with 15% off new customer discount) and notice no difference in color at all! There is hair dye all over my face. She told me I was going to be paing $72 *before the discount* and I was expected to know that with the extra treatments she washed through my hair- I would be paying $102 with the discount and not much of a difference with my hair.

Good for Coloring and stuff!

I previously wrote a negative review for colorific due to a bad experience I had with a stylist there. But the manager personally called me and let me explain the situation to see what had happened. Offered me a free haircut with my regular stylist and apologized for my bad experience. I felt like they handled it very professionally that they addressed the problem and sought to rectify it. I definitely recommend them.
