“We Talk Dog” is the kind of pet-family-friendly places you would want to take your fur baby too. They have taken care of our five year old German Shepherd, Bruce Lee Kellum for his whole life. Bruce Lee is a family member that sleeps in our bed every night and rides in our car just about everywhere we go except on long vacations. His well done and reasonable priced grooming and cleanness is essential to my health since I have acute asthma and a lung disease called sarcoidosis. All we have to say is “ We Talk Dog” and Bruce Lee gets so happy and excited like a child does when they are ready to go to Grandma’s house. We love Bruce Lee. My husband died unexpectedly and suddenly on New Year Eve 2019 and when I called, We Talked Dog they were so comforting to me and Bruce Lee we we came in. They gave us both a big hug and offered to help us through it. I highly recommend them. ♥️

We Talk Dog is the best of the best! My dog seriously starts doing backflips of excitement as soon as I tell her we’re headed to WTD for daycare to “play with her friends!” The staff is so friendly and wonderful, and I am so thankful for their consistent kindness and care. They make it so easy to leave my dog for a few hours, and it’s such a weight off my mind, knowing that my dog is in the very best care. The facility is large, clean, and has so many fun things for the dogs to do! My dog gets so many compliments on how social she is, and I ALWAYS tell them—it’s 100% because of everything she’s learned at We Talk Dog! I cannot recommend this amazing doggy daycare enough. A perfect place!

The staff is always nice and accommodating. They do a wonderful job grooming my clients dogs and allow the dogs to play in daycare since they stay most of the day.

It’s fine. But it’s a dog daycare in Irondale trying to pretend it’s in Beverly Hills. I’ve taken my dogs here a few times, and they enjoyed themselves, but the hurdles to get in are insane and not worth it. I’ve never been able to count on this place as a reliable spot to drop my dogs off for the day as there’s always some new bar/barrier I have to clear. If you’re a working professional that needs a reliable place for your pet during the day I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Grooming here is excellent and affordable. Love how they cut my standard poodle 🐩 with precision and style. Grooming is clean cut and daycare is well managed. Cute to see the dogs peep through the doggy eye holes . Would recommend for dog owners!

If you have a special needs dog, save yourself some time and dont bother.

The absolute best place in Birmingham to board, groom, daycare, and get your dog trained. With very knowledgeable staff who absolutely LOVE dogs! Your dog will spend the majority of their time out of kennels in play groups. So when they get home they are relaxed and tired. I always know my Cora is well taken care of here.

Honestly if I could give them 10 stars I would! This is easily one of the best run businesses I have worked with in Birmingham! We take our three dachshunds there 2-3 times per week and have done the board and train for two of our dogs. They know each of our dogs by name and treat them like their own! The handlers even help me get the little ones in the car at the end of the day because they can be a handful. Our trainer Ellen is amazing! All of our dogs LOVE her and she has come to our house to help with training after the board and train (our oldest is a handful). She listens to my concerns and helps me work through figuring out how to get my littles dudes to be better behaved. She even brings treats and tools to help in their at home training (because dog training is life long) We haven’t boarded the boys yet but we can’t imagine that being anything but excellent as well and when the time comes we wouldn’t take them anywhere else! The groomer has trimmed their nails and is super invested in them being comfortable with the process and is always there to tell me how they did when I pick them up at the end of the day.Every aspect of this business seems to be amazing and their employees really seem to love their jobs and the dogs! Seriously if you are looking for any type of dog training, daycare, boarding, grooming, ANYTHING (they even have a little shop with awesome tools, treats and dog related things) look no further because it can’t possible get better than We Talk Dog!

I took my puppy here today attempting to get her boarded for the weekend. I was told she would have a 60 min assessment to insure she was not aggressive. I called 90 min later after not hearing from them to be told I would get a call within an hour. Almost 3 hours later I got a call saying they could not accept her because of her anxiety and shyness and they only partially did the assessment. They requested I socialize her more so she loses her fear of people. She has been around about 100 people in a week… this was a complete waste of my day. I luckily have found another boarder with short notice.

We Talk Dog has been a lifesaver. Couldnt have survived my Blue Tick/Lab/Boxer mix without them. And both of my senior dogs still have great teeth thanks to the good job the groomer does on teeth brushing.

We Talk Dog is an awesome place! I was a training client about a year and a half ago and now I work here as a handler. Adam is an awesome trainer and seriously made my life and my dogs life so much better! This is truly the best job I have EVER had. I can assure you that no one that comes in to the business is treated like Matthew has stated and I am sure of that. As for the poop in the floor, dogs will be dogs but we are always very prompt in cleaning up their messes and we work very hard to keep our facility clean. A temperament test is required for ALL daycare or boarding clients and that is for the safety of our handlers and our pups! We are very busy and sometimes the next available appointment for a temperament test can be a month out simply because we have a lot of people who want their pup in daycare! We love our clients and especially their pups! In the morning when our daycare/grooming/boarding clients come in we all know their names and are excited to see them! Believe me these dogs get loved on all day! We would certainly NEVER discriminate against a dog for the way it looks. They were great with my nervous-nelly schnauzer. He looked great when I picked him up, and they handled him very well. Prices are reasonable, staff is great.

I am so humbled that I was able to visit We talk dog. I have visited a lot of doggy daycares over the years. This one is by far the best. His employees treat you animals with the top notch care. They also are the best trained handlers in the area. No one else in Alabama is doing what he is doing. I would pay him double to watch after my service dog. Jericho has never been boarded anywhere. He is a dog man and understands k9 100%Not only that but they offer dog training, grooming, and long term boarding. One stop shop for all your dogs needs. I love that my dogs are happy to come by. Its also nice to not be worried about your dogs while on a mini vacation because you know theyre being taken care of and having fun.

I love WTD! Their daycare is the cheapest in town BUT they are also the best quality in town, which is important to me because of my limited budget. My rescue, Lilith, had some behavioral issues which have been completely eliminated since she started daycare once a week. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would recommend them to anyone!

Having a physically challenged best buddy - a small white and apricot spotted, twelve year old, Shi-poo, it has been difficult to find someone who will groom him. He doesnt have full function from mid-spine and back. To my dismay and disappointment, more than one request to have him groomed has been denied by other businesses in the area, so I did what I could with my own custom scissor cut. But, We Talk Dog didnt give a second thought; they took him right away and their groomer did a superb job. He looks great!!! Typically, Ted has some anxiety at being handed to someone for care. Not a whimper! He knew he was in good hands.The staff flocked around him (all of which he soaked up like a furry sponge) - even the owner makes the point of greeting Teddy whenever he goes for grooming. The groomer knows what she is doing, and has worked with dogs who have physical issues, so I have 100% confidence in this group of giving, caring people. Our next step is for Ted to have a play date there. Buckled in his cart (chariot), he can run with the best of them. Thanks, WE TALK DOG!!!!!! Tim - a Huge fan

I have used We Talk Dog for years and have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Adam is amazing and his facility is the best around. I live over 20 miles away from his facility, but any time I need to board my dog, I take her to We Talk Dog. Even though there are five vets that offer boarding within 5 miles of my house, his facility is the only one I trust.The thing I love most about WTD, is the fact that he has someone on site 24/7. Your dog will never be left unattended or just “locked up” in kennel all day. They are always playing and socializing with a great amount of supervision during the day, and at night, they have spacious kennels and someone is always staying with them.As far as training goes, Adam helped us tremendously. We have a German Shepherd that was starting to become fear aggressive until Adam worked with her. He spent hours walking us through the steps to get her back on track and left us with a plan. It was hard work, but we did everything he said. Now, three years later, we have the most amazing dog we could have ever hoped for. Adam is still one of our dogs favorite people in the world, and she gets so excited every time we pull in his parking lot she can barely stand it!Overall, We Talk Dog is an amazing, clean, organized and well looked after facility, and the training is outstanding. I think some people want a trainer to come out and fix their dog for them, but that cant be done. The owner of the dog must be trained how to train the dog, and no one does this better than Adam and his staff.I would recommend We Talk Dogs boarding and training to anyone.

Very impressed! Staff went above and beyond - even sending me directly a picture of my dog playing and telling me he was happy and loved. They regularly posted pictures on social media allowing me to see that G was doing just fine while we we were gone. I highly recommend WTD.

My dog was so excited to go back after her 2 hour assessment. That it made me happy to take her. The staff was professional and nice.

When my Cora was little I thought I had socialized her enough. I was wrong my mixed breed puppy was scared to the point of shaking when she was around more than one dog that was not part of her home pack. She is a timid shy dog but after some hard work and awesome socialization at WTD she began to play and loved We Talk Dog. I eventually started to work there and found that the people there not only care for your dogs but have a true passion in doing so. Though I do not work there now, which a large part of me still wants to be, I have absolutely no hesitation in leaving my dog with the wonderful people here who insure that she is well fed, healthy, and plenty of time to play with her friends. I cannot express how amazing this place is so I just suggest that you go and see for yourself you will not be disappointed!!

The staff at We Talk Dog is fantastic! They go out of their way to make sure that your dog is happy and taken care of. My dog absolutely loves getting to play all day and comes home happy and exhausted every time!

Our dog loved it there and was always well cared for by the staff. We recently switched daycare facilities due to the over-crowding and frequent inability to register our pup to attend daycare on certain days. Very frustrating to have to reserve a simple doggie daycare drop off days in advance to get a spot. Especially when the purpose of doggie daycare is to meet the needs of a busy family. Luckily WTD refunded our package.

These people are wonderful. They always take great care of my doggie and they are extremely responsive and informative. They treat their clients like family.

My pup LOVES WE TALK DOG and so do I!! They are a very clean and doggie loving facility!! The playground is awesome!! The pups have fans, shaded area, and pools on the playground!! The indoors is very well laid out and always very clean! The staff and the owner is AWESOME!! They also offer grooming which is also GREAT!! I have done I guess everything they have to offer with my pup!! I do doggie daycare, boarding, grooming and training!!! Its great to see the doggies dragging their owners into the daycare wagging their tails cause they are so excited to be there!! Its is all EXCEPTIONALLY OUT OF THIS WORLD at WE TALK DOG!!! If you are looking for the perfect place for your pup look no further than WE TALK DOG!!

Ive been using WTD several years now for the purposes of day care and boarding of 3 dogs. I use the day care irregularly sometimes with weeks passing before I need to have my dogs attend for a day or two. Regardless of how much time has passed, the staff always recognizes me and my dogs every time - greeting us all by name upon arrival. Its like having my dogs watched by a trusted family member. My little boxer dog, Tilley, was initially timid about going and was appropriately placed with the small dog pack group even though her sister, Gunner, was in the big dog group. Knowing TIlley wanted to be with Gunner, WTD carefully observed Tilley and transitioned her gradually to play with the big dogs. And on those days when the big dogs seemed really big, WTD would place TIlley back with the little dogs. My third dog, Roman, is an 80 pound VOCAL red bone coon hound. His happy howling bay can get annoying, but all staff at WTD take delight when Roman vocalizes his joy. I like the ease of online access to schedule boarding or day care and buying multi day packages so check out is a breeze. No fumbling with wallet or payment.

GROOMING REVIEW: As of today, this was our goldendoodles 5th groom with We Talk Dog. We have never had any problems up to this point and all groomings have been on point. I knew when we walked in and saw that our normal groomer, Jonathan, was not in that it might be a tad different groom but I did not expect what we got. We asked for our doodle to be cut to about 1/2 inch without sacrificing his curls. Everytime Johnathon would cut him he would always take time to walk him back gently and today our doodle was roughly pulled to the back, and when we picked him up he was shaved down with no curls in sight. I called to express my frustration and try to process a remedy to the problem and the receptionist was extremely defensive, condenscing, and rude. As if we were the problem. Just FYI, Johnathon has moved to start his own pet salon in ATL so they will not be providing the same services if you have been a previous customer. We will no longer be back.

I would not take my dogs there. Unkempt, Elitist, poor business practices. We called about enrolling our rescue dog in daycare and getting some training to help integrate her into the world. Our message was taken and they never called back. so I figured I would just take her down there and have a talk with these folks. I grabbed her vet papers. I had the day off so I threw on my t-shirt and flip flops since it was a hot summer day and upon arrival we were greeted by poo on the floor of the foyer and were looked up and down by the woman standing there who promptly frowned. She talked with the peson in front of me for a bit longer while studying us with that same frown on her face and after they finished their conversation asked May I help you?. So a little back story on this dog. She is a boston terrier who we are fostering for a local rescue. She came from a puppy mill situation and she has a scar on one eye and at the point of writing this is still pretty malnourished. She is not the prettiest dog in the world but she is sweet and everyone who knows her loves her, Except this person apparently. SO, I told her what we were interested in and the best she would offer up was a piece of paper to sign up that she never actually gave me. She then launched into the fact that we would have to schedule a temperament assessment and that the next available appointment was several weeks out. I told her we had called several weeks ago and no-one called us back. She said that she had seen my message and that their trainers were Very busy and that they simply could not afford the time to contact me. I explained to her the situation with this dog being a rescue and that being a foster home we were not likely to have her too very long to which she simply stuff the paper back in the manilla envelope from which it came and gave me that tilted head, high pitched, insincere, Sorry. So we left. Precious, our rescue dog, seemed to be a little down about it so I went by our local bagel shop who makes dog treats and picked us both up a little something for the rejection. All in all though, after thinking about it, I would not take any of my dogs to this place. Between the poo on the floor, the bad attitude, and the inability to return a phone call I dont know that I would trust these folks with my family. We had hoped to get this poor little dog some extra socialization and training to help her get along with her permanent home. I guess the search continues. I may send my spouse by in work garb with one of our fluffier dogs to see how she is treated just as an experiment.
