My dog seemed to have a great time at doggy day care. He was happy and tired when I picked him up. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The facility appears clean.

I LOVE Just Happy Hounds. First, the facilty is spotless. And their stellar staff truly love these animals. Its genuine.I do quite a bit a rescue, and sweet Sarah Mills, Katelyn and the rest of this amazing staff have boarded several rescues. Teaching these dogs basic manners training and socialization. This work helps ensure they will have a successful adoption later!Just Happy Hounds not only provides excellent care for your personal dog, they do extensive community outreach, and have saved countless dogs. I cant say enough good about them!!!

We take our dog rascal here for grooming and daycare regularly. He’s always so happy and excited to go, and comes home tired out at the end of the day, which is quite a feat for a jack russell. The groomer always does a great job with him, and he looks (and more importantly smells) like a million bucks after. I’ve recommended JHH to all of my friends.

My dog began daycare at JHH at approximately 6 months old and attended at least 2-3 times per week. I always thought she enjoyed it as she seemed excited to pull up and be dropped off. At around a year old, I started noticing a lot of staff turnover at the facility. Although I should have taken heed, I did not and my dog continued to attend day care regularly. I began noticing that my dog was very timid of the staff. In particular, she was called by one of the managers/trainers and immediately backed up, tail between her legs, and laid down in a submissive position behind me. This time I took note and my dog never returned to the facility. I still have pre-paid day care days that will go unused. When I inquired about my dog’s reaction, it was explained to me by staff that my dog was regularly kept separate in a kennel in the back during the day. AND, that her “training” involved being taken into the yard, on a leash, while other dogs were allowed to approach her and she was given commands to obey. THIS RUINED MY DOG. She has dog aggression issues to this day, largely due to her extreme anxiety which I believe was engrained into her at a developmental stage while at JHH. Please do not take your dog to this facility for daycare.Also, please note that most of the favorable reviews were posted at least a year ago. While the more recent reviews question the dogs well-being at the facility.

Terrible! I paid $74 per night for my 2 senior-age shelties to be boarded in the “Beach House” suite while I was out of town. When they were picked up they were soaking wet and filthy, as if they had been left outside in the rain. They were also hungry, and an excess of their food was left that should not have been if instructions were followed. Definitely would not recommend if you are looking for your pets to be well taken care of!

Just Happy Hounds needs to be your first and last look at daycare for your best friend. I moved to Birmingham a few months ago and did not know a soul. I came for graduate school with my best friend (Oliver) and the center of my world. I shopped around for daycares like my peers do for their human children. I chose Just Happy Hounds because the staff was friendly and I loved how my dog was always playing. He does not spend hours alone in a kennel like he would at home. They have far exceeded my expectation for customer service and outright exceptional care for my puppy. Oliver had a scratched cornea from playing a little hard and required surgery. I was stressed about what to do. I thought I could not take him to daycare while he recovered for surgery. He required extensive medications and needed to watched more closely in the cone of shame. The JHH team took care of Oliver post-op just as well as I would have at home. I never have to worry about my best friend while I am at work/class all day. I know he is being loved and played with as he is at home. I could not be more thankful for such incredible care of Oliver during his time of extra need. As a nurse, I am always caring for everyone else. I have been incredibly thankful to have someone help me out and give me peace of mind. Never bring your baby somewhere else! Sarah and her team are incredible. JHH is the best home away from home you can bring you furry friend to.

I have been trying to contact them for the last ten days after my dog was groomed here. I have called and emailed to no avail and have heard nothing back. I have many concerns with how well he was supervised the hours he spent here.

I have been to many different grooming places in Birmingham, but none compare to Just Happy Hounds!! My goldendoodle, Bentley, is always so happy when I pick him up & looks SO CUTE!! They actually listen to how you want your dog groomed! We love it here!! Thank you for always having a friendly staff and taking care of our babies!

My dog is always excited to go to daycare and always exhausted when I pick her up:) Everyone knows her by name and sometimes they even video her doing funny things to show me at the end of the day! Occasionally she gets little cuts on her but shes a dog and loves to wrestle and I dont blame anyone for the scratches she gets. I love the staff!

I took Buddy for grooming Savannah the groomer did a excellent job in grooming Buddy. Buddy smells wonderful. He was full of matts when I dropped him off and know he is not. Savannah has done the best job of any grooming place I have ever talking buddy to

I take my dog here once a week, and he loves it. He hasnt always gotten along with other dogs, but he is so much more sociable now after a few months of weekly daycare. The staff at JHH is so nice and helpful, and I trust their judgment. Their services are also really affordable. I cant recommend them highly enough.

They are wonderful with my dog. I have needed to leave before on fairly short notice and they have always been accommodating. My dog comes back happy. I will always feel comfortable leaving my dog there.

I have a giant breed dog ( Cane Corse @ 160 lbs. ) Sarah and her crew have been great with him. He loves going there to play and hang out. No other place want to work with him because of his size. Wish I lived closer to them we moved and he isnt able to go now but I will have vacation soon. And he will be there for 12 days.

My dogs HATE getting groomed, but JHH was incredible! I could tell they genuinely cared for my boys and went the extra mile to make them feel comfortable. My dogs were in a much better mood when I picked them up compared to other places.

Pasta and ambiance are both good. Great lunch place

Mrs ColeSorry you feel like this about JHH, but I can’t imagine Sarah ever yelling at anyone her companion for what she does is above all.The dedication she puts into running to JHH is fabulous I wouldn’t put my baby anywhere else.

Gracie loves her day care days. I love the staff. They treat her so wonderfully. Cannot recommend them enough.

It was okay I had to keep calling for the groomer, after she was reached I took my puppy in for a bath in a couple of days he was oily

We have been taking our dog here for over a year now. She absolutely loves it. She gets excited whenever we ask her if she is ready to go to daycare. They love taking care of our pup and do a great job. definitely recommend, especially those working close by at UAB and Childrens

Attended the Birmingham Bowl on the way home to Texas on a road trip. I needed a place to keep our dog during the football game. The folks at Just Happy Hounds were great. My dog was actually sad to leave her newly acquainted canine friends. I would highly recommend Just Happy Hounds!

I have found out that Sarah is no longer at JHH. I will not be returning my dogs to JHH. I always knew my dogs were in the best care when Sarah was there and no longer trust that my dogs will be in good care without Sarah being there

Great service my dog loved the people. Kept my Lumpy for a day in a pinch, and didnt even charge us for the first visit.

The dog returned happy but lost weight. From being active all day or under fed??. She was returned with multiple bumps... insect bites... Flea?.. Gave her bravecto. The people are very very nice and obvious dog lovers...

I took my dog here for a year and a half and still they did not know her name, and called her a boy almost every time. The staff has very high turnover, and there seems to be a big internal communication issue.

Friendly staff. 1st class care for your furbaby. Easy to find. Groomer does a great job. Its easy to get an appointment and prices are comparable to other less fancy places. Theres a great vibe at Just Happy Hounds and I will continue to take my little beloved furbaby there! She got a groom that was precious but not as short as I needed for her comfort due to hotspots and they didnt hesitate to fix it for free. Great place!

Great way to get the extra energy out of our puppy plus learn socialization skills. Great place for boarding as well.

Very friendly staff however the groom on my Pomeranian wasnt quite up to snuff. I took him in at the end of March 2017 for an all over trim down to 1/2 (tail included), specific attention to his ears, and a sanitary cut.The overall cut was uneven around his face, legs, and tail - it looked chunky, spots were missed and others cut too short. The sanitary cut was what I asked for but I noticed a razor burn/cut on the inside of his leg after we got home. They did a great job on his ears which is usually a tough spot so it seems odd that the other stuff was so spotty.This groomer just doesnt seem to have the skill for my dogs coat or their prices. We wont be going back.

My dog received an injury, it was hard to contact anyone who knew about the situation and management did not cooperate or empathize. My dog suffered a large bruise and blood spot on her back left leg. I had to call several times and finally got ahold of management. They did not find out how the injury happened and I finally had to take my dog to the vet. Also, I requested nail trimming while my dog boarded and they forgot to do so. I scheduled a drop off for my dog for boarding and no one was in the office to receive her though I let them know ahead of time. I definitely do not reccommend this place.

The dog groomer did a fabulous job on Trouble, our 11 year old rescue dog and we definitely recommend Just Happy Hounds Midtown in Birmingham for anyone needing dog grooming, boarding, dog daycare or training. I would like to say I’ve been to several doggie daycares and Just Happy Hounds by far is the BEST!!!!You can really tell they care about your baby! I have to tell you about my experience with them today. I dropped my baby off for the first time today for her boarding Iwas greeted by Sarah and Josh with warm welcomes. The others staff wanted to know exactly want Annabella need during her stay food, bath how much when. I have to say JHH has it together and I can tell Sarah is there because she loves the babies. Now I can go on my trip with no worries! Thank you JHH staff for all you do.

My pup pepper is beyond hyper!!! We do everything to wear her out! Every time she visits happy hounds she comes home tuckered out and happy!!! Forever a fan!!!!
