I cannot even provide one star. Lisa Silverman is a quack. Avoid her at all costs. She takes bribes. NEVER complete a parenting time assessment with her unless YOU pay her. Dr. Silverman, and I use the term Dr. lightly, is being reported to the AMA and APA. You destroy families.

I’ve been going for close to a year. He’s by far the best therapist I’ve ever seen. It is a relief to see someone who will not hold back. He does not tell me what I want to hear, which is great, as the point of therapy is personal growth. He genuinely cares about his patients and uses a very calm method in relaying best practices. He Also has pretty good taste in movies.

I have been a patient of Dr. Silverman for over two years and have been consistently impressed with his dedication to helping me improve my mental health. Dr. S. is NOT the type of doctor who writes a prescription and has you leave within 5 minutes. He patiently listens to what I have to say and offers astute feedback and perspective on whatever predicament I am encountering at the time- from work, family, relationship issues etc... He views treatment in a holistic manner and incorporates a variety of techniques to assist me in understanding and overcoming my issues. I am thankful to have found a doctor who doesnt emphasize just wanting to see as many people as possible in order to get the most money he can in a day. Also, the front desk nurse and receptionist is always very patient and understanding of bill payment issues/rescheduling etc. It is quite cumbersome to deal with insurance and payments etc and Angie takes it upon herself to figure out and work with the payment company- thank you Angie and Dr. S. for all that you do!

Dr. Mark Silverman is far and away the best mental health practitioner weve found in Oakland or Wayne County. Having experienced other mental health doctors in the area weve found Dr. Silverman to be a breath of fresh air.HE LISTENS! He doesnt make assumptions, and makes one feel at home and relaxed.He has our strongest recommendation.

Dr. Silverman is the reason I am still here today. He has helped me in so many ways. I cant thank him enough. He doesnt just dole out medication in a 15 minute quick session like all the other psychologists I have seen. He is more of a therapist. He is wonderful.

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. He wanted to charge $325 for cancelling a new patient appointment. There was a terrible snow and ice storm. And he did take into consideration how far away we lived and we couldnt control this act of God. His office staff was very kind and even agreed this is an unfair practice. I could understand if we cancelled before. But we have not ever cancelled, this was going to be our first visit. We will definitely go elsewhere. This doesnt reflect a caring Doctor.

Dr. Silverman has changed my life. After all but giving up on mental health professionals I decided one last time to try to get help. I’m so great-full that I found Dr. Silverman. For the first time ever in therapy I felt safe, listened to and genuinely cared for. His dedication to my wellbeing has been unwavering. I’ve been a patient for over 5 years and I can honestly say that I feel as cared for now as I did after my first session. This is a doctor that is invested in his practice. Not like many others just going through the motions. I couldn’t recommend a better psychiatrist.

I felt threatened and afraid. I was being abused in my marriage and he added more. We were all alone and I was afraid at the end of the appointment. It was also 2.5 hours long. Ive never talked about it to anyone, but I know that what he did was not compassionate and left me feeling more abused than when I arrived. He told me I was going to pay him the $350 I owed him for one session after not letting me know my insurance wasnt accepted.

My son needed help and when he had a breakdown, Dr. Silverman was unhelpful with providing next step suggestions, and didnt answer/return our calls when we followed up with updates. Very disappointing, would not be able to recommend to anyone I care about.

Ive been seeing psychologists since I was a child, but have always felt disappointed because they dont tend to engage in discussion with me. I feel Dr. Silverman listens with great intent and talks with me which creates an incredible trust to share my deepest troubles. I always leave feeling listened to, cared about, and understood. Lucky, lucky! to have found him. He alway gets me on track with feeling better about mysrlf.

The absolute worst experience! This man should NOT be treating anyone, especially children. He appears to be a sadist and seems to hate females. I’ve know first hand other people he’s treated (a Providence doctor and his family) who absolutely agree with me. I find it so disturbing that someone this cruel is in this profession and allowed to “work” with the most vulnerable; our children.As a side note, scroll to the first review on this page. It’s Mark Silverman himself, giving himself 5 stars. I do know that he thinks very highly of himself and here’s the proof. How pompous and unprofessional.

This is a doctor who cares about his patients. I think a doctor patient relationship is a very powerful one. As a patient I acknowledge that I have responsibilities as well.

The absolute WORST psychiatrist Ive ever seen. He barely ever smiled during our session, seemed to make judgments and criticisms before he even asked enough questions to get any idea of who I am, as well as being hostile to his receptionist when he ran 30 minutes over my appointment when she politely reminded him he had other clients. I did not need in any way at all an extra 30 minutes with him considering I felt judged and uncomfortable the entire time. He is not friendly or gentle. He questioned my responses and made faces like he doubted me to my responses. One visit with him was way more than enough. If you dont feel like leaving your session miserable and more anxious than when you came in, dont see him.

If you dont want to help yourself or even except the help dont waste his or our time or the ones who are truly fighting to get better and not cry like most feeble minded weak people this is a very good doc he will listen and he will make you think and work with you if you are willing to make the effort to actually help yourselfs he is good at what he does and if you listen you will learn the tools you need and more if any bumps come up he always helps with what he can or call the others who can help you i been screwed over 9 years and he is the only one who was willing to actually help and not use me as a ginnie pig or another way to make money so before you judge remember you where the one asking for help dont give him bull crap and will get it and more thank you Mark been a life changer for me over these years and thank you for helping me when my D.O. put me on the side burner

He treated my child with humor and support.
