I have been going to Dr. Davis for a few years for chronic sinusitis. He and his staff have always been courteous and helpful. Dr. Davis always takes the time to explain and show me what is going on with my nasal cavities. Because of his aggressive approach to treating my nasal polyps I have not had a sinus infection in several years and my polyps are gone. I no longer have nasal congestion, therefore breathing easier. Thank you Dr. Davis and staff.

I generally don’t believe in leaving bad reviews even when I have terrible experiences with doctors but Dr. Davis struck me as an especially poor communicator without basic compassion.EDIT: The nature of Dr. Daviss response below should tell you a lot about him and his attitude towards patients. I am disabled and I was struggling in the office. I was immediately treated with suspicion and as a problem. Dr. Davis did *not* actually fully explain the diagnostic tests; he simply said he would need to do a diagnostic test and then just said Thoughts? Then he seemed irritated that I didnt immediately agree to it, even though he later revealed that I couldnt even get the test done that day anyway? I didnt even know what I would or would not be agreeing to. He did not explain how the test works or what it involves in terms of the actual patient experience of it. I have never been to an ENT before and told the very nice woman at the front desk that I would just want to hear more from the doctor about how the tests work before I agreed to them or paid for them upfront, and she was very understanding.Dr. Davis, however, seemed only irritated by my sheer presence. My mother was in the exam room with me and was shocked by his attitude. We mentioned the experience to her primary care physician, and he said this was actually the *third time* just in recent weeks that hed heard this exact complaint about Dr. Daviss poor bedside manner and poor communication/lack of empathy re: the patients experience on a human level, and he wouldnt refer anyone to him. It doesnt matter how skilled or knowledgeable a doctor is if they lack these things.

Thanks to Dr. Davis and his staff I am hearing out of my left ear again! My entire experience at his office was fantastic. His front office and nursing staff were so courteous, professional and helpful. Dr. Davis and his audiologist, Dr. Miles, were quickly able to identify and treat my problem. I am definitely a very satisfied customer! This ENT office has it all - a nice office, a professional staff, and very caring and skilled doctor.

$$ is more important to this ENT than the patient!!! I would call this clinic FAR FROM excellent! Their little play on the word by naming the clinic Excel ENT made me laugh and shake my head as I walked out without being allowed to be seen. The reason?? They wanted to keep my credit card and/or bank account numbers!! NEVER have I been FORCED by ANY doctor or company to give that type info in order to be seen. I have had my credit card and my identity compromised in the recent past and was not about to give that to anyone to keep. They said it was to keep from having to bill for services. I told them I was happy to pay up front every time - but that was not good enough and if I didnt give them my personal info I would not be seen. $$ was more important to them than the patient!!!I was referred by my internist who asked me to let her know how I was treated, because she will not continue to refer to clinics/docs who do not treat her patients well. She heard the entire story from me that very day!I DO NOT RECOMMEND this clinic!! There are plenty of great ENTs in the Bham area that dont put your financial info at risk!

I had not even walked into the office and they managed to convince me to find a different and more professional ENT.As a professional dog groomer, I work in an extremely loud environment so I ask my primary care doctor about referring me to her preferred ENT office for ear plugs made specifically for my ears as my boss explained to me disposable ear plugs are not good for long term usage.I get a voicemail from this office asking me to call them back. When I called the office I was immediately put on hold for over 8 minutes which is fine I completely understand how busy offices can get. However when I finally get on the line with Nicole I told her why I was calling which was for custom ear plugs. She scoffed and repeated “custom ear plugs?” And I was put off and just replied “...yes?”She then proceeded to giggle and say “that’s the first time I’ve heard that.” And I immediately realized I was being spoken down to.Instead of responding with whatever it is you should say or the proper name for my particular need she laughed at me. Okay. Cool. She gets my information and pulls up my referral and asks again, “for ear plugs?”At this point I’m getting kind of irritated for seemingly obvious reasons. I tell her “...yes” once again considering that shouldn’t be a question given the fact that she just laughed at me for calling them “custom ear plugs”.She pulls my referral from my primary care physician mentioning a diagnosis and “CUSTOM EAR PLUGS” the same thing that I had also said and something I was just laughed at for saying.Okay... cool...I mentioned that the ear plugs are not really necessary for my diagnosis I just needed them for work because I work in a very loud environment. She then tells me she is confused because I should be coming there for my “diagnosis” and not for my ear plugs and begins to just push me to booking an appointment with a doctor. She tells me to come Tuesday and when I told her my only day off during the week was Monday she tells me the doctor can only see me on Tuesday’s or Thursday’s.Okay, well in that case, I told her to give me the latest appointment for Thursday which was 3:00 and when I said yes to that she changed the time to 2:30.Annoyed, I agree to the changed time and just to be sure I asked what I was going in for (which should be my specific need of basic fitted ear plugs)She tells me I’m coming in to discuss my diagnosis.Aggravated after being laughed at and talked down to I quickly told her to cancel that appointment I will be calling a different audiologist for my needs. I shouldn’t have to make needing ear plugs fitted to my ears specifically become any sort of medical procedure. Not even 30 minutes later I spoke with another office in Hoover about “custom ear plugs” no questions asked, she knew exactly what I needed and didn’t bother with picking apart my medical history for EAR PLUGS.Anyone should be able to receive ear plugs for their profession i.e. hunting, gun ranges, swimming, motorcyclists, musicians, for sleep, etc...More than half of my coworkers have the specific ear plugs I need with no preexisting hearing loss or issues.I knew if this was how they were willing to speak to me over the phone for the first time then there was no way I was comfortable walking into their office for my needs.Given my one phone conversation with Nicole at Excel ENT I cannot recommend this office for anyone with more extreme cases than someone who just needed fitted ear plugs.Peace and love.

Repair of my deviated septum was very good. I can breath fully through both nostrils now. This solved a problem I had been living with for about 50 years. This is the first winter in many years that I didnt have a sinus infection. The entire staff is easy to work with as they are courteous and professional. I would highly recommend Dr Davis to friends and family.

I have dealt with my sinus issues for years. I have seen many other ENT doctors in the past in the Birmingham area and have had multiple sinus surgeries. Dr. Davis performed a sinus surgery on me approximately 12 months ago. He spent a great deal of time with me pre-surgery to make sure I understood all the ins and outs of surgery and what I would be required to do long term to manage my condition. It has been twelve months since my surgery and I have never felt better. I use a steroid nasal wash twice a day to help manage my chronic condition. I see him back in the office every 3-4 months to make sure my sinuses are in good shape. I cannot tell you the difference Dr. Davis and his staff have made in my life. Thank you is not enough.

Staff not that friendly or helpful ..... Despite me having insurance and money for my co-pay..... they wanted me to sign a waiver to allow them to store my credit card information for future charges that may or may not happen. I told the women at the front desk that I wasn’t comfortable with my credit card information being saved and she stated “ you have to sign it or you won’t be seen”. I immediately left without signing the form.

These people are trying to catchup on the money they lost during the pandemic. They insist I have a test that I cannot have because I’m claustrophobic. Dr Davis was very rude because I refused the test. He said he couldn’t help me unless I had the test. This morning I received a call from Cahaba Imagining to schedule my MRI. Apparently Dr Davis does not understand what no means. His office sent in orders for a test that I refused. I canceled the test with the imaging office and left a message with Dr Davis’s office that the test was cancelled and that I monitor all statements and bills.

Dr. Davis did a wonderful job explaining in detail the cause of my sinus issues, the pros and cons of the options to resolve them, and his recommendations. The sinus surgery he performed significantly improved my health in a way that was, without exaggeration, life-changing (I went from chronic health problems primary and secondary to sinus issues, to virtually none). I highly recommend the knowledgeable and compassionate team at ExcelENT.

My experience here with Dr. Davis has been nothing but positive. Ive been having constant intense, chronic pain, pressure & inflammation of my entire sinus cavities for several months. Constant pain & pressure in my face - forehead, cheeks, ears - it was unbearable. After only 2 visits I feel he discovered the root of my sinus issues. At both visits he did look in my nose with an endoscope, which is an additional cost, and at the second visit I had a CT scan of my sinuses. After the CT scan, he went over the results with me and discussed possible treatment options. (Surgery to address my deviated septum, and then a possible additional sinus surgery to help with the pain & pressure.) A member of his staff was in the room and went over the costs of any potential surgery. At NO point did I ever feel like I was being pressured to get surgery. I was prescribed antibiotics for 3 weeks prior to the scan, which helped tremendously! Now I am currently on a regimen of 2 different nasal sprays and flushing my sinuses with a sinus rinse system, and would love to have the surgeries. I am extremely happy with my experience and would definitely recommend him. My husband also has some serious sinus issues, and Ive advised him to see Dr. Davis.

Great Staff and Doctor! From the first telephone conversation, initial visit, consultation and therapy could not have been better. My initial visit was really an eye opener for me. The equipment Ms. Carleen Ozley , SLP, used to evaluate my speech and the directions (with explanations why) she gave me during the evaluation was awesome. After the evaluation, Dr. Davis along with Ms. Carleen formulated a plan for me and explained step by step what to expect. Ms. Carleen has really opened my eyes with Speech Therapy and I feel so lucky to have her, not just telling me what I need to do to improve, but why a certain therapy exercise is necessary. I am very pleased and excited about Excel ENT and their ability to help my speech.
