Don’t come to this ER even if your in serious pain. My husband came from the ambulance and after getting this vital and his info he was brought to the waiting room been here since 1:30 am and it’s 3:17 am and we’re still waiting to get a room when there only us two and one person in the waiting when they are saying all rooms are occupied. They suspect my husband has kidney stone and he is in pain but they don’t seem to know they pain he is in as they all say I’m sorry there nothing I can do , we are waiting for a room to open up.

Do NOT go to this ER unless you want to be upcharged. The rates and fees were exorbitant and not in line with the services rendered. I have been unable to speak with any individual who is willing to address my concerns and have not been able to get a detailed bill despite multiple requests.GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Came in at 5:00 pm and at 8:50pm still waiting. When I went to ask what time I checked in the man at the desk (Robert) was very rude and yelled at metelling me by law he could not give me a time I would be seen. I was not even going to ask him that question. Treated me like I was a ghetto patient with no insurance. At least that is how I felt. very rude. If I could give them a zero rating. I would. Still waiting....

Do not go here in an emergancy. I had food lodged in my throat and because I could breathe through my nose they left me sitting in the waiting area for 3 hours. I understand it was a Saturday night but I couldnt swallow at all so they handed me a cup to spit in the waiting room. It was embarrassing as well as not Sanitary because I had to take my mask off constantly and the chairs certainly were not social distance apart.Afer 3 hours the food did dislodge itself so I left agaist thier reccomendation will go to urgent care tomorrow as I still have some pain around my chest area. I did let them know 2 hours in my chest was starting to hurt ( guessing the food was moving) and I was having trouble breathing and they still just let me sitting there spitting in a cup. No urgency, and they never checked on any of the people waiting. Had the meat moved the wrong direction I would have been done. Now I have a heavy pain in my chest and throat from the ordeal so if you have a real emergancy do not go here. They will just let you sit.

The worst wait time for a potential ectopic pregnancy. Explained to the EMT that I had previous miscarriages and that I was feeling the same symptoms. I checked in at 6. Still didn’t get seen and I finally left at 8:22 to go to another ER. When I told the front desk I was going to go to a different ER he didn’t check me out just said “you can throw you bp cuff in the trash”

My husband and daughter have a rare disease that can only be treated in an emergency department. The ED physician took the time to educate The Medical Center of Aurora ED staff about this rare disorder. This truly meant the world to me that they took the time to prepare to care for my family when they need it! Thank you TMCA Emergency Department for you support and compassion!!!

TMCA provides exceptional care. There are so many care givers and healthcare partners that are caring and informative. I bring my family here and would recommend this hospital to anyone needing care. The nurses are all top notch and very compassionate, always a plus when you are coming to seek care during a vulnerable time.

It has been an okay experience for me for 21 years now. I can say the majority of the staff that took care of me every visit ever since I was a baby have been awesome. My only issue is with a whole staff team taking care of me for my issues, there is always one that just doesn’t seem happy or care about their job at all. As mentioned, I have been coming to this ER for nearly 21 years. My mom had me at this hospital August 2000 and the experience has just been neutral ever since I was born and was misdiagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at this hospital as a premiee. I just recently visited yesterday for a near-fainting spell I had at work with severe migraines. The female nurse, her student, radiologists, and physician that took care of me during the 3 hours I was there were brilliant. What made my situation okay was the male nurse that took care of me. i unfortunately don’t remember his name, nor I couldn’t tell I was stressed out at the time. But I was trying to keep my spirits up with my condition and talking to this male nurse. Whenever I asked him for something or I just had a question, he just gave me short responses and acted like he had issues with answering simple answers about my medications for my migraines and dizziness. I also had to reminded him a few times I needed my bed adjusted since I wanted to take a nap from my Benadryl. want to judge the overall environment of this Emergency Room since I’m a future healthcare worker. But what’s up with the small amount of staff not caring for their patients and misdiagnosing an issue?! I nearly died at that place when my mom had me in 2000 from dilated cardiomyopathy because of the lack of empathy a small amount of staff at this emergency room just don’t care. I’m to the point I may just need to find a new ER to visit if I fall ill again next time. It just bothersome every visit I have or read a bit of reviews on Google ever there’s always one staff who is careless about their jobs and a patient’s health is not in good shape.

The doctors and nurses are HORRIBLE! This hospitals ER hires the worst of the worst.I was treated like a criminal who was pill shopping in the ER. No one here listened or took me seriously. I was literally crying from knee pain. A DOCTOR told me that if something were torn i would be in more pain than i was.I went to a different ER in centennial, got an MRI, and found out that i tore my MCL and ACL. My MCL had ripped in 2 and flipped over on itself. Surgery was immediately scheduled.

Dr. Morgan (I hope that’s the write name) was amazing and took great care of me. He kept rubbing back and fourth taking care of his patients and making sure I knew exactly what was going on. He knew something was wrong with me and I ended up needing emergency surgery with Dr Lasasso. As busy as Dr Morgan was he got all the tests needed and speed up everything to make sure I was taken care of properly and admitted to the hospital. Just an overall upstanding and sweet man.

On October 28th I went in for a second suicide attempt. My nurse left and I heard a male employee say something along the lines of “You’d think she’d get it right the second time.” and my nurse LAUGHED... it felt so unreal and I was in a state of shock so I didn’t say anything, but over the months it’s hurt like hell. Those are the kinda of employees you’ll get there.

I came into the ER after being told in the urgent care that my pain was too severe and I needed to immediately go to the ER. I get there and I am visibly in pain. I am crying and moaning out in pain. I did not know it at the time but I was passing a kidney stone. Not a single person moved with any urgency at all. I was left for over 3 hours to sob, cry and literally scream out in pain amongst other patients. Other people were uncomfortable being near me and hearing me writhing in pain. In the meantime various nurses and staff walked by me avoiding eye contact. Once I was finally in a room I waited another 2 hours to get any pain medication. The doctor was very nice and the nurse while in my room was nice. But no one seemed concerned about my pain.

I highly recommend this hospital for expecting mothers!Labor and Delivery ward is phenomenal. Ive been there twice and both experiences were perfect. The nurses listen, and will do anything they can to help you during labor and afterwards. My last birth, my nurse was there, hands on and ready to help through the whole process. The hospital is clean, the post partum ward is quiet, and the security measures are perfect. They aim to keep mother and child together as much as possible, and I was only away from my child when I needed an MRI. Dont be scared away by the Emergency Department reviews, the staff and doctors in L&D are phenomenal!

I was misdiagnosed with COVID19 and mistreated like the intravenous drug user which they called me because the incompetent medical assistants and nurses continued to make my veins collapse at least eight times. The most unprofessional hospital in Colorado, this place should be called the Morgue of Aurora - this is where patients go to die. I am appalled by their lack of medical expertise and the overt discrimination that I endured at this facility.

1501 S Potomac St, Aurora, CO 80012I wish that we could take this ER with us back to Philadelphia! From the moment we walked in the door of Emergency we were greeted with kind and helpful folks - from the security guard, to the RNs Julia and Dana at the intake desk. My husband took a tumble skiing yesterday and had developed concussion symptoms through the night in addition to the strain in his calf. We were seated in the waiting room after giving Julia his recent history. The waiting room was clean and comfortable, and equipped with sanitary stations of tissues, face masks, and hand sanitizers. When his name was called, my husband was briefly taken to an intermediate waiting room in the back and then placed in a room and connected to a monitor. The ER rooms all had walls and doors - no drapes around rolling stretchers! Our RN was Jess (Jessica). Kennedy came in and finished the admission paperwork. Both were cheerful and personable. Our P.A. Skyla, examined my husband and they both joked that perhaps his skiing days were over. Smiling Cindy from CT scan took my husband for his scan and they returned less than 15 minutes later. Dr. Crysel came in after the results of the CT scan were read and discussed follow up care with our primary physician once we returned home. Dana came in and we were discharged within minutes.Although we were in the ER for several hours, we could not have been treated any better. Everyone we came in contact with was respectful and attentive: knocking on the door before entering the room, addressing my husband by name, explaining to us what was going on, medicating my husband after the initial exam was completed, communicating each step along the way and peaceably answering any questions we had.We have both concluded that doctors, physician assistants, nurses, and technicians are just kinder here in Colorado. We are fortunate that such gracious and skilled professionals are employed by the Medical Center of Aurora. Thank you.

I will be filing a complaint with the state medical board. Please do not waste your time at this place.

I heavily advise everyone to avoid this hospital if at all possible. In September 2017 I visited this ER for a laceration to my left index finger. I chose to go to the ER because after the cut happened, I realized I couldn’t bend my finger anymore. I thought I may have severed a tendon. This was on a Friday night, I went in and told the attendant that I had a cut and couldn’t bend my finger. After a short wait I was seen by several EMTs. They looked at my finger, told me I’d be fine and just needed some stitches. I told them it felt tingly and I couldn’t bed my finger anymore and they reiterated that it was shock and would all be fine. A doctor did come in to put in four stitches and then I was sent on my way.Two months later, the cut was healed and the bending/tingling sensation had not improved. I went to urgent care to get it looked at again, and was advised that I had probably cut the tendon. I went to a hand specialist who immediately confirmed this. Not only had I cut it completely in half, but because of the time that had passed there was also a chance that it had retracted so far up my arm by then, that it wouldn’t be possible to fix. The fun part about that was we wouldn’t know if it was fixable until it was reopened in surgery!I went ahead and got the tendon repair surgery ASAP, and luckily it was still in the realm of repair. I then went to four months of physical therapy to get the functionality of my hand back, and wore a brace on my hand for over two months. I couldn’t continue my job for several weeks following the surgery, and had to miss a ton of work to make medical appointments, all while paying on my high deductible for my medical care. Even after all of the physical therapy, it was determined that I will need additional scar removal surgery on my index finger to regain functionality. As of now, it still does not bend at the tip, and is very stiff from the scar tissue around the repaired tendon. I have gotten used to keeping it out of the way when using my hand, rendering it a useless appendage.Tomorrow, I will have the scar removal surgery, and immediately go into intensive physical therapy for at least eight weeks. This is May 2018. If all goes well tomorrow, and in therapy, I will have spent 10 months on the repair of this injury. If not, it will continue into a year after the initial incident, when I was seen by clueless EMTs on a Friday night, typically one of the more active nights of the week for an emergency room. I have had to endure more medical expenses alone than my income will be for this year from this incident. I spoke to several lawyers and dont have much of a case to pursue in attempt to get some sort of compensation, unless I end up with permanent, unrepairable damage. Even though this is considered malpractice on behalf of this emergency room!I’m currently not employed, as the frequency of my medical appointments, along with the inability to use one of my hands, makes it difficult to find an employer willing to accommodate the schedule I would have to keep. I’m unable to apply for disability, since I am expected to make a full recovery eventually, and you have to be medically deemed disabled for at least two years to collect disability. So I am truly screwed right now as a result of all of this. The only good thing about the free time I have is that I can focus on the recovery, however, once I finally am recovered physically, the financial damage of this whole mess will take years to come back from. All I can do is advise you go somewhere else in the event of an emergency if possible. I have had to dedicate the last 8 months of my life to fixing this issue when if I had been seen by an actual doctor in the ER who listened to my concerns, I would probably be able to use my hand again by now.

Nurse Nelly and PA Skylar were absolutely horrible. Nelly wasnt professional in the least. She slapped my hands to bring my veins up (not a good practice), threw a sheet at me and blew my vein while taking out the iv (she decided ripping it out with the tape was a good idea). PA Skylar is rude and I hope she doesnt become an actual Dr because her practices are disgustingly unsatisfactory. She clearly has no compassion for her patients. Overall the medical staff I interacted with was an embarrassment to the medical profession. I highly recommend going to a different hospital or if you hear RN Nelly or PA Skylar request a different staff. I knew this hospital had bad reviews, and its sad that poor medical staff like the two women mentioned above bring down all thier colleagues as well as the hospital.
