POOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.. People here don’t seem to be interested in business. The guy here was not at all helpful.He was behaving like a dictator. Not all interested to do the business. He was getting irritated at every basic and needful questions I asked. I got up right away and left! I don’t recommend this place.

One of the worst retail experiences, I ever had. The staff was rude to the point it almost felt racial in nature. I was simply trying to get my frames I bought in Florida repaired and they could care less, since it was not a new sale. I am heading to Costco and will forever take this place off my list of places to buy glasses. I suggest you avoid this place like the plague.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!and that’s an understatement . Impolite staff! The shift supervisor “Myra”calls herself a store manager in absence of her REAL manager should be fired. She is absolutely rude and unprofessional . They made a 0340 appointment, sent me a text I confirmed and when I went to the store at 0335,they tried telling me that I missed my 0320 appointment (which I never made or was aware of) and dropped one of my 4 appointments .Unfortunately after my little incident at the store, they will be loosing 4 patients . Not because of the Doctors ( They are amazing)but because of the staff especially “ MYRA” . She is absolutely the worse.

I am giving one star because that is least .My experience to visit this location is pathetic. The staff members are inefficient and not knowledgeable at all. They are very careless doing their work. They suppose to order something on the day of visit after 3 weeks when I reached out them , they mentioned they have not ordered and do not have explanations for not do order. During regular visit for eye they were no close who is primary and who is dependent same spent 2hrs of just paper rework. I do not recommend this location at all. I agree lot of reviewer comments and second their views. All are accurate. The staffs are rude and they charged me contact lenses exam also. I can keep writing about experience I had.

Very unhelpful and rude staff! I went there for my eye exam appointment, and found out that my appointment was cancelled since I did not reply to the appointment confirmation text message (which I never received). The lady at the front desk was very rude in her communication. I will never come to this place again. Visionworks you lost one of your many customers because of your unfriendly staff.

I read the bad service reviews but still took my chances because its close. I was able to book the appointment easily for the next day and even the appointment went well - easy check-in and quick pre-exam. Doctor is kind and informative! But everything changed when I had questions about ordering frames at a later date. I get anxiety from trying on so many glasses and figuring out what I like in such a short amount of time (thats why glasses should be organized by style and not brand). (Also, the associates talking among themselves about a previous patrons child being unbearable made me hyper conscious of my toddler nearing his limit).I asked the associate if I could browse their selections online and come back to purchase. I got a snappy answer on how I am responsible for returns if I purchase online. When I tried to clarify that I would just check them online by filtering style, I was told not all vision works are the same and I would have to check with them if they have the frames in store. Thats fine and all, but if the associate wouldve been more courteous and took the time to understand what I needed and even expressed that they would check availability for me once I had time to browse at home, this wouldve been a better experience. On the contrary, I suddenly felt unwelcome to return and they were unwilling to help.The appointment was going well until that point. They didnt even offer to set up my 1 week follow up for contacts after the trials, which the doctor informed them at the end of my checkup. Probably for the best because I dont think Ill return to purchase my glasses. Its a shame because this location is so close to me.Update: The next day, I ordered my glasses and contacts from VisionWorks in Oswego (positive review posted) after browsing the website for frames. Much better experience with helpful staff. Wish I didnt have to go further for good service.

Worst customer service every single time I called, they put me on hold for more than 30 mins as if Im calling a customer helpline. Not a polite staff at all. Its been over a month no response on where my glasses are at yet. Not recommended to anyone. Only good part is doctor there is really nice and know how to take care of her patient.

Customer service : not polite ( not all associates, I looked around all associates helping other customers politely ). Computer knowledge - poor. Service Information - poor.Vision Work policy: Stone Age old. They won’t accept email prescriptions. They needed hard copy. My doctor faxed it to them and they did not care to take a look at their fax machine!! We were waiting politely !!! Actually we thought of buying that glass but decided not to give them business and left the place once after we got our quotation.Old frame collections. Too pricey.

I called this place to order my contact lenses after had my five-day free trail given by the Doctor. The lady picked up my phone asked all my information and said she would call me back in 20 mins. And she didn’t call me back!! I will call them again tomorrow. Very unprofessional and BAD customer service. I will not go to them next year. Not recommended.

Went to the store on Wednesday to buy glasses. I saw the note on the door that said please call for an appointment, so I did. (Keep in mind the store is completely made out of glass so you can see what’s happening inside.) I really wanted to get my glasses from this store even if it was for another day so I called the number (the lady from inside was hardcore staring at me while I was typing the number) I saw the lady pick up the phone inside and put me on hold right away. After maybe 1 min of me waiting on the phone it just hanged up. I called a second time and that time I wasn’t even put on hold it straight went to “the store is closed at the moment” that was around 5:30pm and it says the store closes at 8. The store clearly wasnt closed at the time and the lady in the front was just on her personal phone..... I went to LansCrafters store on the first floor and bought glasses there

I am a regular customer of this place. I have been going here for my eye exams each year since the past 5 yearsFor this year (2021), I made an appointment last year in December. There was no follow up calls, emails reminding me my appointment, and I personally called and showed up only for a very rude, insensitive, Hispanic customer service associate to tell me that they dont accept Blue Cross PPO any longer. And she (CS) had the nerve to blame me for the total lapse in service on their part; I mean, I am your regular customer - how difficult is it for you to verify my information beforehand? And the attitude of this person talking to me!I am taking my entire family of four business to Costco. They have left me in very bad taste about todays episode and I sincerely urge each and everyone of you to think twice before making or renewing your appointment at this place. Absolutely callous and despicable attitude.

---Worst customer satisfaction. my name is leeladharWe went to this location on Oct-24-2020 and ordered a frame and glass with prescription they called us on Nov-02 to pickup the glasses when we visited the store my 5 year old kid said she couldnt see any far objects. The store employee said it will take a while to get adjusted later she crosscheck the prescription that we have with the one updated on their system was wrong one so glasses are made with high power +3 cyl instead of +2 cyl. so promised she will get it corrected by taking the copy of original prescription and reordering and get it sooner than normal time. Good that she found wrongly updated system record. on nov-16 we called the store and enquired about the glasses readiness. they said its ready to pickup.we visited on nov-17 and store employee said they dont have glasses yet. we are really upset about the way they handle the orders. Another employee in store again promised they will get it in rush order. now they found the prescription during reorder was not updated on system again so it will delay few more days.Its pathetic situation. I have been with visionworks since 2015 at stratford mall, the one at fox valley mall was from past 2 years.I would suggest all customers to make sure you have them in written form about your orders keep follow up and do not wait until the last minute as you will end up hearing surprises.A 5 year old kid if she couldnt express or verify if the glasses are made with wrong power where are we going in todays system ? even during reorder also they couldnt handle properly.

Went in for a scheduled appointment, and while my insurance absolutely led me to the wrong place (thanks meridian) The staff helped me out quick and efficiently. was able to pick out some new frames after having a very polite and friendly exam.Perfectly fine place, but if Meridian told you this place was covered; maybe see why theyre lying. Worst experience ever! Ordered a rayban glass with prescription and waited for 2 weeks for it to deliver, with nosepad being broken. And then went for replacing the nosepad, but they were saying to replace the frame instead. so waited for 2 more weeks to get it replaced. And after i called them, they told the frame isnt available and offered me for the refund. Totally waste of time with not knowledgeable representatives in the store. Its a JOKE!!

Worst customer service ever!!! I reached the store 10mins before the appointment, but associate couldn’t pull my insurance details for about 10-15mins. After 20mins they were able to, but as it already crossed 10mins of my appointment time they want to reschedule it.It’s the problem of the associate or the system that my details weren’t pulled up. It’s really ridiculous they want to reschedule it.

I would like to thank Charles I had to get a new pair of glasses immediately because my dog decided to eat mine..... and they were ready so quickly and he was able to salvage the other glasses and fix them!!!!!! My prior visit in janurary he was also very helpful!!!! He has phenomenal customer service, and his help was greatly appreciated. I will continue going back there because of his awesome service! I am adding to my review I had to come back the following day for my kids eye appointment and Omar who was fairly new did such a phenomenal job, he was very personable which I love when someone goes beyond the job and customer and tries to get to no you as a person! Omar really took great care of me and my children, and I really appreciated him. Then my kids met the eye doctor whose name I cannot remember she is there Tuesday’s and Thursday absolutely phenomenal person! So patient with my children, and also very personable with them. She interacted with them so patiently and with compassion and kindness. And finally again Charles was able to fix my dog eaten glasses. I really would like to thank the doctor, Omar, and Charles for really doing an amazing job!

We’ve been shopping here for years but unfortunately their customer service has been lacking in the last couple of years. They fail to follow up, don’t answer the phones, lack plain and simple courtesy, and their prices have gone up significantly. Plus their COVID-19 store policies are extremely unrealistic and I can’t believe they manage to stay in business. They have forgotten how to cater to their clients and try to meet everyone’s needs.

Everyone was very professional and friendly. They turned around what could have been a disappointing experience into an informative one. When I booked the appointment I asked if there was an ophthalmologist on staff I was told yes, but actually is only and optometrist. We did a complete eye exam and the optometrist is calling to follow up with me in 2 weeks, took my insurance to help me find an ophthalmologist for possible follow up if condition doesn’t clear up on its own.

Omar is the man! I can honestly say he went above and beyond trying to figure out an issue with my warranty on my glasses. Long story short he got it taken care of with no issues. He went out of his way to call and update me with the progress on 2 separate occasions. I can honestly say that i felt i was in good hands the customer service was superb!!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when i came in. Nice job guys its refreshing to feel welcomed at a business these days.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy shown to all of the customers at Visionworks today. Every customer was greeted immediately upon entering the store and all of the associates made sure that each of us knew when we could expect to be waited on. My experience at the Fox Valley Vision works has by far been the best experience Ive had at an eye doctor. Dr Jackson was very kind and personable. One eye has always been weaker than the other and Dr. Jackson took time to pinpoint the prescription for each eye, even though there is only a slight difference. There have been times I treaded going to eye doctor because the doctors sometimes seem condescending because I am extremely near sighted. But Dr. Jackson made me extremely comfortable and I didnt feel rushed when i couldnt tell if there was difference between 1 and 2. My prescription is perfect and I can finally take a break from contacts.And Alyssa!!! Alyssa is a SUPERSTAR!!! She was very kind and patient. She address concerns before I even asked a question. She is very passionate about what she does and she has a genuine love for helping people. I picked up my glasses two weeks after my eye exam and Alyssa noticed I changed my hair and complimented me! My boyfriend doesnt even notice when I change my hair!!! Alyssa has a priceless personality and she made me feel like a valued customer and friend. THANK YOU!!!!

Avoid Visionworks if you value your time and money.Went in for yearly exam and ordering of contacts. Was weary since they screwed up my last order, but thought I would try one more time. At the appointment, they had me sign for an extra exam to map the eye balls, and said it was included in the exam. My medical insurance covers my exam so I signed. Afterwards I was informed that the exam wasnt covered by my insurance and I was responsible for it. When I asked why it wasnt fully explained I could opt out, they didnt have an answer and said thats how they work it.So after trying a new set of contacts out, I called back to order. Now my prescription hasnt changed in two years and both eyes are not the same. When I called they had the wrong prescription. When I informed them they were wrong, the attitude started. I politely asked to speak to a manager, and was hung up on. I called back and spoke to the manager, Alyssa, who looked into the issue and saw there was a discrepancy. She advised she would have to contact the Dr. in the morning to correct it, but would have to hold off on ordering, but to make up for the delay, would offer 3 months of contacts. Order went through and went to pick up my contacts, and no 3 months supply.Sick of the games being played, lack of customer service, and errors being made. Take your business elsewhere. You will be happier.

I would give zero stars if I could, but you cant leave a review with zero stars.I went to vision works to choose a pair of glasses, I asked the clerk if they had a fax machine so my ophthalmologist could fax over the prescription. She said yes and handed me the stores business card with the fax number on it. The prescription was faxed, but was nothing ever printed from the fax machine at the vision works. We waited half and hour, nothing, so I had it faxed a second time. We left, got some food, came back an hour later and still nothing. So I dialed the number for the fax machine, and it was out of service..I told the clerk who said ok I dont know..PAY YOUR BILLS VISION WORKS, OR AT LEAST DONT TELL PEOPLE YOU HAVE A FAX WHEN YOU DONT.

It took over an hour after my scheduled appointment to get in. The optometrist did not look at services requested as he did not do dilation as requested in the chart. I had go back and ask for it. Over 3 hours later we finally left after buying a pair of glasses. The system they have are so convoluted that the staff struggled for over an hour just to get me the final price. Nice people, poor systems require better training for staff particularly for the new ones. To make up for the time lost in the wait, the lady threw in some extras, which was very nice.Update: Two weeks have gone by and no glasses yet.

Now, had I not paired up with Alyssa Paukner, general manager at the Fox Valley Visionworks, the outcome of my ordeal most certainly would have had a different outcome. She made the end result superior to a previous experience.Originally, I went to an alternate Visionworks location---three times they made my glasses, three times they were incorrect. How? I will spare you the long story but poo-poo happens. Needless to say I wasnt pleased. I just could not return to the other store, again, as they began to treat me as if I were the one with the problem...I kinda was! I kept getting the wrong prescription, incorrect information, and then the cold shoulder!So, after many weeks and three tries at the other Visionworks location, I decided to visit the Fox Valley Store instead to see what my options were on getting proper fitting lenses. The sales associate listened attentively, then said shed like me to meet with Alyssa Paukner the general manager. When Alyssa listened to my ordeal she couldnt believe her ears. She immediately apologized for the other locations misgivings. She then asked to see my old pair of glasses and compared them to the new ones the other location had made. She remarked that the prescription was way different and wanted me to see Dr. Gregory Jackson, the eye doctor at her location. Dr. J took a great deal of time to listen to my needs (I do a LOT of desk/paperwork all day, plus need to see at a distance as well. So, my previous bifocals had an unusual prescription--he recognized that by an inspection of them. The other store did not bother to do so even though I asked them to.)LONGGG story short. Dr. Jackson was spot on with his prescription assessment. Alyssas skills at taking on a problem created by others was above and beyond what I had been expecting. My glasses are perfect, I can see so clearly. No blurriness, no wavy motion. These two folks saved me from my fear of being disappointed again.The Fox Valley Visionworks location was pleasant as were all the staff members I encountered. So many times nowadays, its not the overall company but the attitude and atmosphere of a single location that makes or breaks a customer experience. As a business owner myself (20 yrs and running so far) I try and give the benefit of the doubt and always give another chance at redemption--I was right! Thank you, Visionworks / Fox Valley.

Spent part of the afternoon with Laura today & W-O-W!!! SHE.. IS.. AWESOME!! Laura made my purchase & coverage VERY simple. She spelled everything out & answered all my questions.. Even some I realized I asked twice. The questions I did ask a 2nd time though she didnt just repeat herself, she answered/explained it differently to make sure I understood.One of the frames I really liked didnt quite fit my fat face, so she toddled off for a couple min & had me try them again. They fit perfectly!! So of course she nailed that sale with a home run.Being the end of the year I wanted to straddle my purchase between calendar years & she didnt miss a beat, knew exactly what I needed done for that. So the way she did it I was able to take advantage of the 2nd frame at 1/2 off while having my insurance pick up the second set of lenses on my next years coverage.Laura was very accommodating & I left a very happy customer! Thank you!On a side note I do have to say that the General Manager (Alyssa) did NOT add to our pleasant experience. We were trying to compliment Laura to her & she just kept on talking right over us, totally ignoring what we (the customers) were saying, not paying attention to us at all. She came across as very robotic, like she was repeating herself for the 412th time.. even if she was, you DONT show that or make it the customers problem, making them feel like a nuisance or just another cog in the gears. We literally could not wait for her to walk away fast enough. LAURA is why I had an awesome experience, & shes the reason Ill be back & why I am still recommending this store!***Update***Charles was at the front desk when I came in to pick-up my 1st pair of glasses & he was great! Very personable & knowledgeable! This is my first pair of multi-focal glasses & Charles took the time to very thoroughly go over exactly what I should expect from the new experience over the 1st few days. Im very glad he did as I was definitely wondering/questioning them the 1st couple days & had I not been armed with that knowledge Im sure I wouldve been back in the old glasses & on the phone. BUT, the experience so far as been exactly what he told me to expect while my eyes adjust. Thank you Charles!Oh, and I really do like the glasses!!! :)Thank you Laura & Charles for the great experience!

I havent been to the place for business but i was there to know some prices on their stuff, and believe me when i tell you the customer service was so awesome especially the girl in the hijab. First i didnt follow what she was saying coz she was so cute but then i caught her drift and she cleared every question i had. I would surely be here again for business.

I had a wonderful experience! Great customer service, very cleanly store,was dealing with a lady named alyssa paukner and she was by far the best when it comes to customer service and perfessionalism, she answered all my questions and made sure I was happy with my purchase! I will definitely be a returning customer and will personally be asking to deal with alyssa because in my opinion she is the definition of what customer service should be now days and I will definitely be telling my family members to ask for her as well! Extremely rude customer service by Jenesis. When we walked in the store no eye contact or a smile while she is standing right in front of the door. She kept talking on the phone with customer which is ok for few minutes, but if it takes too long she should have ask someone else from the back to help out.The height was she got another personal call and AGAIN started talking on the phone in Spanish while I am still waiting for her.Now its my turn so, she took my glasses while I am still explaining her my problem, she walked in the back of the store to the technician. When she came back I told her I wanted to show you scratches on my glasses she said wait for the technician to look at the other problem first. Why ????technician cant handle two steps instructions? I am not familiar with their process so it was her job to explain me first how they handle repair services.Then finally while helping us she started a personal conversation with the co-worker. Then she gave me wrong repair cost $60.00. I asked her to look up my insurance she said I know the price, but then she finds out that she actually gave us the wrong price and now it is $30.00. After few minutes (actually after looking at my insurance) she says its $10.00. I was almost going to walk away without getting my glasses repaired if it was $60.00. And when I gave her my credit card she swiped once and handed me my card and said itsgiving me reading error . I was confused I didnt know what to do. Then co-worker walked in and she swiped and it worked.At the end my observation was its not like she didnt know her job, but just lack of focus, no efforts and very poor customer service.

Prices are crazy high, they fudge the numbers to take advantage of insurance. I my insurance was going to investigate them for double dipping. Avoid.
