Im very pleased to have him & Erin as my primary care doctors. I would give them 1,000 stars if i could. They love & care about their patients & is always kind & treat you like family. They did more than educate me on being a FTM/ Transgender. They told me about the groups & have supported me through out my journey. I love the fact that they call you back when you questions about Testosterone etc. They helped with getting my gender changed to male earlier this year as well. This wouldnt be possible if wasnt Dr. Carroll, Dr.Smiddy, Dr. Erin, Dr. Anne & Their staff. My primary care doctor in Rome, Ga at Harbin Clinic recommended Dr. Smiddy & Dr. Erin to me last year November 2020 & ive been happy ever since. 12/2/2021 will make a year of my transition. Oh, i cant leave out Maxx at Druid Hills Primary Care. He has been wonderful & also has been very helpful since ive became a patient. Please keep up the great work you guys.

I have been a patient at Dr. Smiddys office since moving to Atlanta 6 years ago. As a health care provider myself I value relationships and knowledge; the providers (Dr. Smiddy and Erin Everett NP) are exceptional and provide both. Dr. Smiddys internal medicine background shows with his comprehensive knowledge and attention to detail. I have always been impressed at the time he has taken to explain and examine. More recently I have been regularly seeing Erin Everett and she is amazing. I couldnt be happier with the care I have received here. I no longer live in the city but have no problem with driving back to this office as needed.

I loved coming to Druid Hills Primary Care! I started seeing Dr. Smiddy, who was open and upfront, and communicated the pros and cons of every decision we made. After a few years I started seeing Erin, who continued their history of helpful, thoughtful care. I was really sorry to have to leave their practice when I moved out of Atlanta; I would have continued to go there for the rest of my life if I could.

Do a fantastic job of explaining and working through what you need and taking your requests seriously, even for a wellness visit. Also, more rare these days, they take time to work through and explain costs of different things and insurance and are very helpful in resolving billing discrepancies. Finally, they are open minded and nonjudgemental to alternative lifestyles. Just a great organization. Whenever I land insurance where they are in network I end up coming back to Erin and Dr. Smiddy

I have been seeing Ms.Erin (NP) who is genuinely NICE & CARING but Ive never met Dr. Smiddy nor has he ever introduced himself- However Smiddy has watched me pass him in the office during my visits. Ive been in this office at least 5-6 times and he has never parted his lips -while wearing his nail polish on his hands and feet, which I thought was pretty cool for a doctor to be different BUT he is VERY DISMISSIVE towards patients- perhaps he has some sort of hidden prejudice or maybe he thinks that his alarming style may be judged by a certain group.... This practice is to small for him not to be involved. NEW PATIENTS take your chances but I PREFER DOCTORS THAT SPEAK & INTERACT. Not trying to diagnose him just MOVING ON.......

I have been seeing Erin Everett, NP for over 2 years. She is amazing. She is a bank of knowledge who cares very much for her patients. The office manager with the fun colored hair is also so very helpful and always so personable with a smile and kind word for everyone.

Ive been seeing Dr. Smiddy for 3 years now, and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his team. A lot of primary care docs will try and rush you through, to see as many patients as possible, but Dr. Smiddy will actually sit down with you and take the time to figure things out. Hes super easy to talk to and shows genuine interest in me as a person and as a patient, and makes it clear that he does care about every detail. Hes a fantastic communicator, and is also super sensitive to medical procedures being potentially expensive, so he wont order anything unnecessary. You really get a sense that he truly cares about his patients, and thats super refreshing to see and experience. Hes a phenomenal doctor, you cant go wrong coming to him!Additionally, I needed lab work done and Im EXTREMELY afraid of needles. Blood draws are the worst for me. Dr. Smiddy took the time to make sure I was comfortable and warned the phlebotomist, Tiffany, ahead of time so shed be ready. Wow, if you need blood work, Tiffany is INCREDIBLE. She was ridiculously fast, made sure to keep the conversation going, and I was able to lay down the whole time and not look. Tiffany was so sweet and kind to me, and I was super impressed at her bedside manner and attitude. I usually hate phlebotomists, and I believe I said as much to Tiffany, but she managed to turn around my entire experience.Thank you, Tiffany and Dr. Smiddy, for the best/least terrifying blood draw Ive ever had. 💜

Had an appointment for 8/30/2018 at 1:30 p.m. the nurse practitioner called in sick that morning, I was not notified before driving 30-45 mins that I could not be seen due to her absence. I asked why wasnt I called, the receptionist stated she called I asked what number and she conveniently called out a number 1 digit off, I said thats odd you called me yesterday to remind me of my appointment. But she was nice and I didnt make a big deal, I asked could they at least take my blood to have my work done for my next visit, Doctor Smiddy whom I thought I was booking with said no you have to come back, he then comes to the window of the receptionist where I was standing and barely speaks and walks away like the hell with you, I would have expected the doctor whos practice Im supporting to at least acknowledge the situation knowing Im his patient and make an effort to be customer friendly, he made no effort at all. Ive been treated better at convenient care. My business is going to a more appreciative doctor.

I can’t express how grateful I am to have this man as my doctor. I have been in the medical field for almost 30 years and this is the most caring, personable doctor that I have ever known. He saved my life once already and he continued to amaze me with his love and care for his patients.

Best primary care doctor Ive ever had. Its amazingly difficult to find a primary care doctor with good bedside manner, but Dr. Smiddy is the exception. Spends plenty of time with you, listens, and will explain everything in detail. Office staff are friendly and wait times are negligible. Id honestly consider paying out of pocket just to keep him as my doctor if I ever switched to an insurance he didnt take.

Dr. Smiddy is the best!!! He encouraged me to see a specialist after a routine physical, even though I was feeling fine.It turned out that I had early stage colon cancer. I am fine now, but if Doctor Smiddy was not so aggressive and cautious, it could have been a different story.A++ physician.

Not somewhere I recommend going.I question their knowledge of basic practices. On one occasion, they took a test knowing I didnt fast for the standard time (basically an industry standard practice for years) then told me my numbers were bad because I didnt fast (You think?).On another occasion, I showed up for a follow up appointment only to be referred out. Dont worry - they still billed me for the 5 min office visit which entailed handing me a business card of another doctor. I kept the $150 business card (its fancy!)

My email has nothing to do with the doctors themselves, but the receptionists.I received this email after originally scheduling an earlier appointment: Hi Erin! The office of Erin Everett, NP has rescheduled your appointment. Your new appointment time is Thursday, January 11 at 2:30PM. To cancel or reschedule this appointment, sign in now.Great, right? I drove 45 minutes to the office for my expected appointment time only to be told that they forgot to put me on the schedule after changing it and the appointment time had since been filled, but I could wait around the office until 4:30 and she MIGHT have time to see me, but it was not guaranteed.That was the most unprofessional experience, and although they were the ones at fault, I had to deal with the consequences. Needless to stay, after their unprofessional and unapologetic manner, I had no desire to stick around and took my business elsewhere.

I switched doctors recently and am so glad I did! I chose this place specifically because Erin Everett (nurse practitioner) had a web page up saying she was knowledgeable about transgender healthcare. I am FTM transgender and at my previous doctor I felt like a number. They stuck me for my blood and sent me out the door and I really didnt ever get to speak with anyone in depth about my health.Erin immediately struck me as someone knowledgeable and she really knew what she was talking about! She spent the time to really listen to my history, did a thorough physical exam, asked intelligent questions to find out how Ive been doing on hormones, etc.Excited that I finally found a healthcare professional who knows about transgender healthcare I asked several questions that my previous doctor was unable to answer. She knew about everything I asked and I learned so much from her! I highly recommend her to any transgender patient, especially considering how rare it is to find someone who known about our healthcare needs.

Ehhh. Im willing to bet Dr. Smiddy is amazing. However, Ive never been seen by him, even though I sought different health insurance to be seen by him. Erin is great, by the way. My guess is that the volume is too great for him to see everyone. I get it, but I thought that at least by visit 3, I would have seen him. Not the case.As for the atmosphere; straight to business. Not a lot of fluff; Just you, the front office and the front staff. Not bad. One of the front desk ladies (not Dianne - shes great) seems to be aggravated at just about everything. I cannot recall her name, however, I recognize her tone and demeanor, if you know what I mean. Good thing is, she is consistent! lol Heard her a few times with others. Not just me. Somewhat sarcastic, but ya know...Good with the bad.Erin is great and very knowledgeable. Dr. Smiddy looks to be amazing, but I doubt I ever make it in to see him since I have been assigned to Erin (it seems). Also, Ive had to be a little more persistent than I want to be for follow up information. Small staff, doing the best they can, but if youre going to consider here, please be flexible. I will stick with this office a little while longer because it works for me. Thank you for your service.

I MISSED A LOT OF WORK BECAUSE I HAD BAD SIDE EFFECTS DUE TO A MEDICATION THEY (NP) GAVE ME. THEY (NP) NEVER TOLD ME OF THE NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS. IT ENDED WITH ME IN THE ER FOR A RARE INFECTION..... I MET THE DOCTOR 1 TIME. (ON THE DAYS I HAD A VISIT, HE WOULD SIT IN HIS OFFICE AND LOOK AT PEOPLE PASS HIM BYE) THE ONLY TIME I MET HIM WAS THE TIME HE CAME IN TO ACCUSE ME OF DOCTER SHOPPING: I FIRED HIM ON THE SPOT AFTER I EXPLAINED THAT MY DOCTOR OF 13 YEARS HAS RETIRED. Dr. Smiddys office is great - you get a lot of one-on-one attention and Dr. Smiddy listens to you and spends time with you so you dont feel like youre being rushed out the door. This practice operates a lot more like old-style doctors offices used to, before they all became part of large medical centers and hospitals.
