Cathrine is the most amazing hair stylist. She truly takes the time to ensure my hair is always cut to perfection! I highly value how Cathrine studies the details of my hair and is never rushes through a haircut. Not to mention, she is so nice yet professional. The facility is extremely clean and well maintained. The chairs are comfy, the lighting is well maintained, and the hair washing room is truly a mini trip to the spa. I cannot recommend this salon enough! I refuse to get my haircut anywhere else!

Love this place! They make you feel like royalty. When I moved here from Los Angeles, I was more worried about finding a salon to do my extensions and highlights than a job or an apartment! Lucky for me, I did. And they use the entire Avesa line! Love this place.

This is my first time getting a haircut in Atlanta area. It was easy to set an appointment. They mentioned the prices and hairstylist too. When I arrived to the salon, I really liked the interior. It looked clean, smelled great, and they followed CoVid precautions. I also had to wear a mask the whole time but I didn’t mind it. My hairstylist was Kenzie and she’s the sweetest. I already knew what kind of hairstyle I wanted and brought photos to give her an idea. I got my hair cut about 8 inches. She also showed me how to curl my hair with a flat iron. I really like my short hairstyle! I sent photos to my family and bf, and they all liked it too! I had a great experience and I would recommend this place!

The manager Ashlyn that helped me get my color booked was an absolute doll, my hair came out great from Sydney and lasted awhile! and any complaints I had she took care of instantly. Will come back for sure!

Rob Cook is the absolute best there is in the industry! I have followed him from Va Highlands, to Midtown to now Buckhead. Rob really listens to what you want and discusses each and every cut with you. Im very particular when it comes to my hair....Ive been going to Rob for over 20 years! He is the best in Van Michael Salon, no matter what part of town!! You always walk out looking great!

I’ve been going to this salon for 30 years. You can count on a good haircut at a reasonable price. They require masks for entry and are checking temperatures on entry. Hand sanitizer is plentiful. There are plastic screens between each station. Good customer service.

I have been a client and fan of this Salon for years. Always a great experience with talented stylists like Billie Jo! Right now they are very careful about temperature checks, screening questions, masks, social distancing, and newly added plexiglass screens between stations. I appreciate all they are doing to protect both their amazing staff and clients.

I have been going to Bernard for cut and color for years but was worried about coming since Corona virus. I love the protections salon has put in place with dividers between stations, distancing, constant cleaning, and, of course, masks for all. I felt safe and will not hesitate to go back.

I really appreciate all of the safety measures in place for COVID. I Felt safe as they really set the example for how businesses can protect their customers. And as always Mallory does an amazing job with my color. Thanks!!

I have used the Buckhead salon for well over 15 years. I have seen both Keith for hair cuts and Armand for color. I consistently get compliments about my hair. Is it pricey, yes it is. Is it worth it, absolutely. The two individuals I mentioned are top notch. They are service oriented, experts in their profession and do a consistently fabulous job. I highly recommend both of them. If you are tired of your look and want to go to someone who will finally listen to what you want to do, go to them.

They always do a wonderful job and this time was no exception.

Poor service and unreliable experience

This was my first time in after the reopening. Salon was very prepared with taking temperatures, asking questions, utilizing every other station, and everyone wearing masks. I felt as safe as I possibly could in the situation that we are in. Ashley is amazing, as always. Love my color because she is fabulous.

I fly in from South Florida every 2 months for a day just to come here. My stylists, Rod and Gabrielle, are amazing. So worth the time and effort. I get compliments everywhere I go.

I find great talented hairdressers in the New Talents but they do not stay or graduate to the expensive part of the salon and then I quickly cannot afford them anylonger... HelloThis is reference to therenew talents side aka their hair school from what I understandAbout month or so ago, i look on FB marketplace to find somebody or and a hair school that did hair coloring.I find a guy, is with van Michael, we come to agreement to come in for a hair color.It was two weeks ago this monday,When I went in.I did my best with the paperwork they gave me,I didnt see that try was anything like,if theres a mistake on the students part, you dont like how your hair comes out, you will need to come back and pay for another hair model service,which is 20$ not bad for a hair color at a salon that charges alot for there servicesMy student and I decideon a true red base with highlights to match.The teacher agrees and we move forward.When all was said and done.What came out, Was Completely Wrong.I was very upset.The teacher came over and said whats wrong, I said this isnt red, and she tells me it is,How, its brown no red anywhere.She said we can add a red gloss if you want.Nop, I want to get going to my evening appt and I realize that a gloss isnt permanent, its just a band aid :(SoI go to pay and ask if they can fix it some other time,Nop, we Dont do that, you will have to come for another service.Not only that our students find models we dont and the person at the counter was very uppity and seem that people who arent a certain size or and look should be treated less than people who are wealthy and thin.Im fluffy and its hard to treat myself, when the world looks at you that way for most part and I dress the best I can, w/o looking like an old lady that wearing wallpaper.{ Im getting really tired of people who faux at being friendly to people who are not the perfect size etc, you are supposed to treat All your clients well, no matter what,Dont judge a book by its cover,Because what if I was of the popular crowd and my hair got ruined, they would be all over me to fix for free or I would of have to money to fix it , that isnt right nor fair, this is 1st time that this has happen to me at a school}I sadly paybecause I didnt was to cause a scene, started crying and left.That nightI send the salon a FB message,Because the only other way to contact them is by #,Weird huhNo Instagram, no Twitter no nothing and how I was feeling, talking to them would been a bad idea.I explain to them what happen, how if this student got a job with your salon, there wont be that many clients, if he does services the way he did with me and how charging me for another service when it wasnt my fault, is wrong.Especially if they knew or care how tired my money was. I used to go here when I was a teenager. Moved back to Atlanta and in my 40s now. Love love love Kelly. She cut my hair amazing! You know when you just get a cut and toward the end of 5 weeks it’s frayed and looks jacked up? LolWell not this time! I’m blown away at how good it looks (with my thick hair that turns into a fro in this Georgia weather) as it’s growing out. It has not lost its shape!Mind blown! I am not going anywhere else.

My husband and I had our wedding down at Sea Island, GA a little over a week ago. Shane Petsch and Rod Lawson were so kind as to travel down to the beach for our wedding to do the hair of our bridal party and family. Rod did my hair and my bridesmaids’ hair and we were blown away. Our wedding day was the most special day in my life to-date and my hair will look beautiful in our wedding photos thanks to Rod :) I could not have asked for more. Sea Island was so impressed that they have approached Rod about doing additional weddings. Both Rod and Shane are incredible hair stylists and I promise you will be in good hands.

I just got my hair colored here and I LOVE it!!! Im sure all the stylists are great, but I recommend going to see Fairren. Shes amazing and super sweet!! They take really good care of your hair here and they provide many services you can choose from.

Rod and Shane are both so great. They did my hair for a very dear friend’s wedding, and it turned out so well. I have fine, blonde hair, that doesn’t hold curl well. They used products that didn’t leave my hair looking dark and stuck together, yet the style stayed perfect all night. I think that’s probably a first for me. I got a business card from them after because I would love to start getting my hair cut by one of them regularly.

For my first visit to this salon, I took a late evening appointment on a Friday night. I had no trouble finding a parking spot right near the door. It was a bit confusing on where to enter for new talents, but I quickly figured it out.Portia was my stylist. She did a great job with the cut and style, and was super fun and energetic to interact with, even that late in the day. The other salon staff members were all very helpful and efficient. I am sure Ill be going back!

Apparently you cant get your hair cut here without fear of your car getting booted. Was in the Salon for an hour and came out to a booted car that apparently the owner or manager had called in. Dont ever go to this place unless youre willing to wait another hour and pay a $75 boot removal fee. 0/10, will never do business with again.

I have been going to her since before she moved over to the salon side (started going to her in 2013, so its been about 5 years now), and the quality of her work is fantastic! I have always left my appt with her, 100% happy with the color work she has done on my hair & even her blowout service looks amazing! I have very frizzy top layers & she always blows out & straightens my hair & it looks amazing, ready to go for a date night!I have never really been one to venture out to highlights or do crazy colors, but I have been so happy with the color she puts in my hair & her guidance & recommendations, that I started doing partial highlights with her about a year ago now & am even more happy that I decided to do it!All & all, I highly recommend anyone go to her for color work as, she is such a nice person,and always provides such amazing customer service!

I am extremely picky about salons, having been the victim of seriously bad haircuts and color jobs in the past. That being said, I researched salons in the Buckhead area, and found Van Michael Salon. I decided to give it a try, given the reviews I read. I am so glad I did! I cannot express how happy I am with my service. Anne colored my hair, and she did a phenomenal job! I wanted something as close to my natural color as possible, and she delivered. Bo trimmed my hair, and she is wonderful as well! Before cutting, she showed me exactly where my hair would fall after the trim, and gave me plenty of pointers for keeping it healthy. I didnt hesitate to book my next appointment. This place is run but a bunch of liars.I have been calling yesterday for my appt and was told they could not provide any and that Natalie would call me back today. She did not do it. I called and been on the phone for 90 min to be told that she was with customers! So basically I could not make any appt yesterday while others could! And I still have no appt!

Ive been coming here to have Brandon cut my hair for 25 years. My only other relationships with men that have lasted that long are my Dad and husband. Brandon is an Aveda educator, traveling the world to teach other stylists. If I ever want something that wont look right with my hair, he will explain why he wont cut it that way and give me an alternative that works for me. I can show up with no idea of what I want to do, hell share some ideas with me, and I know Ill walk out looking fresh and fantastic.

Ive attended Van Michael for over 5 years now, and I have found the service to be incredible, the hair cut and color to be better than expected every time, and the cost to be worth every penny. I go to New Talents, which is still pricey for me, but I have never found a less expensive alternative that came close. If you want to look professional and feel more confident about your appearance, this is the place to go! If you want to feel well taken care of by your stylist, this is the place to go! I love that they give you shoulder, arm, and scalp massages to ... soooo relaxing. Enjoy the experience!

Issac is truly a magician! I went to him for the first time recently and am so very pleased with the final product. He was very good about taking time during my consultation to explain the process and the product being used. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a color specialist.

THIS SALON DESERVES NO STARS!!!! I went in with a full head of healthy hair to get color and a cut but now have a huge bald spot. They applied a peroxide color that was left on too long and not washed out properly. I discussed it with the manager (Lori Guyton) and sent her photos of the damage but she said it was just thinning from age even though the hair loss is one huge bald spot on the right side of my head. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! This salon was great at one time but now they allow anyone to work there. The entire visit was a disaster! I wish I had never scheduled the appointment. They deserve no stars! By the way, my stylists were Amber and Gray; I can not remember the name of the shampoo girl.

Great client service and I am very happy with my cut!

I went in for a trim, no more than four inches cut off. I was extremely clear about this since I am very picky about my hair. I said no more than four inches, no layers and no thinning. She cut off SEVEN inches, put layers all over and thinned my hair. It is choppy and uneven. When I called the salon to tell them that she needs to told to listen to her clients I was told that I would receive a call back. I never got that call. I called again and they said they same thing and the call never came. I do not recommend this salon at all and if I could give them zero stars I would in a heart beat. The stlyists are nice but they are extremely clueless.

Colten did a balayage on my hair and it looks amazing! He made the time go by quickly and it was a lot of fun!

I went to the new talents section and it was a great experience. Phoenix gave one of the best haircuts Ive ever had and paid amazing attention to detail- if youre a guy I highly recommend her. I only wish I had found her sooner!

This was definitely the worst haircut experience of my life. I paid $55 for a small trim and then the stylist proceeded to YANK on my hair for an hour while blowing it dry. I have never heard of a stylist being so careless when working with hair. It hurt so badly and now I feel like my hair is damaged and broken. Do not book your cut with Karl. He was unfriendly from the beginning and I’m glad I didn’t let him do more than a simple trim. Will never go back. Wish I could leave zero stars.

First visit today to this salon. Great experience! My stylist, Sperow listened to what I needed (a pic-me-up cut and style), didnt let me go too short like I had originally thought I wanted, and took his time with my hair (about an hour and a half). It is hard to believe some of these other reviews. Yes, it is busy and loud in there but if that isnt your thing there are other salons with different atmospheres, it isnt necessarily a negative. I will return. Reasonable price for service given.

This place is a zoo. You can count on good haircuts if the person has been there long enough, but the atmosphere seems like a bunch of nasty teenage girls running around in black. Very noisy. If you want to feel like youre having a big city experience, it fits the bill, but if youre looking for a comfortable, cohesive place to enjoy a relaxing experience, youre out of luck.
