Very nice camp ground. They have places to swim with life jackets available. They have some great fishing. My son caught a nice 2 lbs bass off the dock. There is 4 lanes to put your water sports equipment into the water. Its a great place to take the family for camping. The only thing I didnt like was you can only stay 14 days then you have to leave for 17 days. So if your working over the road and need a long term sire this is not for you but the place is nice to just stay at for the 14 days.

This is our favorite place to camp. Electric and water hookups. Dump station isnt too far from the camp sites. Bathrooms are cleaned daily. Great for fishing, swimming, sun bathing, hiking, bike riding, even saw someone on their one wheel zooming around. It is the perfect blend of nature and city. Its 20 minutes to the nearest Target/restaurants so if you forget something, its not too much of a hassle. We try to stay here every other month because its the perfect place to decompress and reset. A HUGE bonus is that there is no breed restrictions so my pups can come. We found an area that we could swim(waters really gross for my liking) and teach him to swim. I cant express just how much I love coming here. Groot does too. Lol.

We had a great camping day here in Loop J. Beautiful water front view. All of the staff were very friendly and awesome firewood for $5! The campground is all gravel, hard to put pegs in. To my surprise the shower waster is pretty warm! The only negative things is that the camp sites are very close to each other, not even many trees in between, we got very little privacy from neighbor, we parked right next to their car. Luckily the night we stayed they were very nice and quiet. So BUGGY now in summer, we plan to come back sometime in fall! ( saw a cute water snake)

A great place for family to go camping. There are a lot of fun things to do: swimming, boating, hiking and more. The area, including the toilet and shower rooms, is safe, kept clean and is well-maintained. The beach is kids friendly. Highly recommended for a quick getaway!

Nearly all sites are wooded with large gravel ares where the picnic table and fire rings are located. Sites are mostly level, however some have steep entry that are shared with other sites. Check description before you select. Many of the sites have a view of the lake, typically through some trees. The showers are cleaned daily and well maintained. would stay here again.

Well. So much to say about Jordan Lakes Camping sites. All the information is updated often on the website. We camped for 3 days. Sites are, by personal opinion, close together, maybe 15 feet apart. You can park two cars. Noise is out at 10:00 PM. So for relaxing, great place. For laughing and partying, not so much. No alcohol is allowed.Very family friendly. Kids on bikes and swimming, if youre close to the water. Or there are sites close to playgrounds. We were close to the water, so early in the morning I woke up to do yoga. We enjoyed the day out on the boat and returned to shower and cook. The restroom locations are mostly maintained cleaned. Some people just cant see the garbage can I guess. Showers are good enough. Bring your sandals. You can relax on your chairs go fishing. Lots and lots to do there. The area at Jordan Lake is so big that I cant possibly say what is the best spot. Its a matter or opinion. But you can find lots of information on the website. Jordan Lake Recreational. Super Good Place.

Our first time camping at Lake Jordan and we had a great time on the water. The sites are very nice and a great size.BIG Problem with the bathhouse though! There is absolutely no air circulation in that place. The shower stalls are extremely too small. And the water is temp is too too hot! Would be better if I could adjust that myself especially for the kids Plus no soap dispensers at the sinks.I was more sweaty and uncomfortable than I was before my shower. NOT GOOD! Putting some large exhaust fans in the rafters would be a great first start.

Great little campground. I stayed on Loop J, which was very clean and had a great view of the water. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean at all times. It could definitely use more space or trees in between sites though. We could hear every conversation near us. Easily solved with some music and a crackling fire!

Awesome camping site! Nice clean place! I come here a lot and everyone is nice but last week the young man who works at the gate was extremely rude and had a very bad attitude. I wonder how he got that job with that attitude! I only asked him couple questions but he was so ignorant. Still nice place to camp with great lake view.

This is a fantastic campground with a great staff. We stayed 2 nights at a nice pull-through site. We had a problem with the circuit breaker panel. The layout of the breakers was odd with 20, 30, 50, and 70 amp breakers. We called maintenance and within 10 minutes Mr. Henry Presnell drove up. He flipped on the breakers in the correct positions and we had shore power. Mr. Presnell was very professional, friendly, and helpful. We feel lucky that Mr. Presnell came to our aid.

This use to be a fantastic place but over the last three years the place has really gone down hill. Grass is knee high, the boat ramps are very dark at night. Never see a Ranger or the camp host. I remember when the camp host would ride around and talk to camper and the Ranger would come by several times a day. That doesnt happen anymore and its sad, such a great place. Alot of family memories and fun over the last 30 years. Please put more lights up at the boat ramp like they use to be......

I must give it 2 stars because of the bathhouse! Everything was fantastic! The sight we are at is awesome! The staff is great! The lake is beautiful but the bathhouse and restrooms were very dirty and had not been cleaned for a while! To bad cause they are great except for mold on the shower curtains and on the floor and trash in the stalls!lUPDATEI bumped it up to a 3 star. They put some new shower curtains up and cleaned some of the mold up but still some mold around and trash still in the stalls. Doesnt seem to be getting a daily cleaning? Everything else about this place is definitely deserves 5 stars! To bad!

I really love going to Jordan lake no matter what seasons it may be, if you love photography this place is a good spot for a spectacular sunsets. It is also nice to cool down during the summer, and there are various activities you can do for jet ski, canoeing, paddle boarding , boating or simply just lay out in the sun and have fun. I also love hiking and or bring your bike for trail biking and there are also families that do picnic and or play beach volleyball.

This is a great campsite. The bathrooms were not a bad walk, and were clean (although bring your own soap - even for the sinks). There isnt a beachy area that we found to walk up to the lake. It was frigid and windy, so the lake was very choppy and seemed rough and deep right up to the shore. Your neighbors are pretty close, but the layouts provide decent enough privacy. We would go back.

This is my familys favorite place to take our camper. We dont live around here, but the drive is always worth it. The scenery is beautiful, the bathrooms are well kept, but most importantly it doesnt feel like your surrounded by people; theres a pretty good amount of space in between campsites. The lake is great for tubing, kayaking, and they have a roped off section of beach for swimming as well. My whole family and I love it here!

Enjoyed our first experience camping at Poplar Point. Sites are nicely spaced and screened with trees inbetween. Rangers were friendly and had our reservation ready at the gate. Spring flooding had limited the number of camping loops open. Lots of clean-up needs to be done before the full campground can be opened. We did experience power outages, but the campground sent repair folks within half an hour and had the problem fixed. The shower facilities could use updating. There are no benches and only one hook on the back of the door to hang things on.Many sites have water views and some even have sandy beaches where you could launch a kayak or canoe. The campground has a boat launch facility and a beach which are limited to campers use, so they arent as crowded as the larger beaches and boat launches locations in the park.We walked the Poplar Point trail and enjoyed bicycling the roads in the park. We will definitely return and bring our kayak.

To be honest Im not the person that usually leaves a review ..but I felt it may help someone..Soo about 2 months ago my family wanted to go camping (something weve all never done) ..so we booked our trip, it was about 20 of us including little kids so we reserved 4 plots that would house 2 tents each ..as time got closer something said look at the reviews the reviews said the rangers haggled you and it was almost as if they were looking for something on people which caused me to worry because we are African American and plus its the week of elections so we were all worried about our safety or if we would be targeted but... Long story short everyone was friendly ..we were the only black family there but everyone treated us nicely,.the park rangers did drive around during the day but they didnt bother anyone..very relaxing environment and everything you need is there at your campsite(power/water).bathroom was very clean .overall experience 10..my trip date was 11/6 -11/8

Such a wonderful campground! My husband and I came for a weekend to get away from the craziness and the hustle and bustle and Poplar Point was too perfect. The sites are really well-spaced out and everything is so clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the trails and lake access are so convenient and clean too! If you are unable to reserve a site ahead of time and have to grab a FF (first come first serve) site like we did, be sure to get there before 5 on Friday to make sure there are sites available because they fill up FAST and there’s a line to check-in. All in all, such a great and beautiful place!!

Qas approached by a ranger at about 8pm whp came onto our site after popping out from where he was hid in the woods watching us. He said he came to tell us that quiet time starts at 10pm but that we werent being loud or anything. Then he proceeded to open our coolers and check every cup we had by sniffing them for alchoal. After which he called in more Rangers who illegal searched and harrased us without any proof we had done everything wrong. They then wrote us tickets for alchoal and kicked us out. Everything was dropped In quart immediately by the judge because of the illegal search an seizure, harrasment and the other laws they jist decoded they didnt have to follow them selves I guess. Would never go back here and would not recommend for anyone else to go unless you like having youre rights violated and having all of your personal items throw around and searched illegaly.

I had made mine and my husbands reservation. Then read some comments, some were not so great. I kept my reservation because my husband had been to Jordan lake a few times with our youngest son and our cousin and each time they came back they had nothing, but good things to say. Now they didnt stay and poplar point campgrounds. My husband said keep the reservation and i did and we were off to camp. Anyways my husband and I had a GREAT time. I felt safe with the park rangers driving through. They didnt once bother us. The younger people working the gate were polite and informative. As I am a small business owner. I go by customer service and they were excellent. Also the showers bathrooms 🚻 were kept clean. I could say so much more. I highly recommend Poplar Point. The next time we go were staying 7 days instead of 3. I normally am one to want to hurry up and leave the day to go home, but I wanted to stay longer, but had to get back home for work😒. Again I HIGHLY recommend Poplar Point campgrounds. 👍👍👍
