Tank it self was a classic sensory deprivation / isolation tank . Has the potential to have a overall relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staffNo lighting option in tank , black liner made me feel like I was in dark plastic bag music was only played to indicate the session was over . Music being played could have made it more relaxing ease into the isolation tank experience .Reply , owner response : For the purpose of Relaxation color therapy /music / and lighting all play role in a calming atmosphere, black plastic bag tank .... could bring A lot of negative the association itself who wants to go in dark plastic bag . A lot of research with music therapy / color therapy so I’m sorry it’s not business tactic it’s to bring overall calming experience with the less possible negative effects . Overall has a lot of potential just needs some adjustments

I have floated in other places, pod and cabin style. This place has the creepiest float cabins, they are lined completely with a weird liner that looks as if it were duct taped together in spots. The filter mechanism/machinery is IN the cabin with you. The cabin is very small ( felt smaller then a pod) and the liner is very disorienting when you float into it, ruining the sensory deprivation feeling. The cabin also had an odd smell, it could have been from the liner. There is rust on the doors, the mirror shelf is in poor shape and the products for showering were watery. Had this been my first float I would never have floated again. No blow dryer for wet hair, now where to sit and get yourself back together afterwards. This is a very no frills, poor quality float place in desperate need of upgrades.

Highly recommend! Very welcoming friendly staff, can easily make and adjust appointments if needed. Ive done a few floats and used both the infrared & traditional saunas. The float tanks are top of the line made by Float Lab. They are big 4Wx8Lx7H so even though there is zero input (light, sound) there is plenty of room which allows you to relax and let go quicker. Floating is very relaxing like a deep meditation once you settle in.The saunas can be set for infrared (air is less hot), or traditional. You can adjust internal /external lights, change the light color, or turn them off before getting in. They also have an aux cable to connect your phone to play music or a podcast through the internal speakers while in there. (I like to turn lights off and put on relaxing music)Each float tank and sauna is in a private room where you can lock the door and take your time to set up, shower, etc.

This was a birthday splurge for me--and it was worth it. Loved being alone in my thoughts for an hour. But the ear plugs had to go for me--with them, I was acutely aware of my breathing and the pulse in my neck. Once they were out, I could relax.

Nice, clean rooms. Helpful staff. She gave me a great explanation of everything a first-time floater needs to know, including a little background history lesson of the whole concept. The little shower area was relaxing in and of itself...lovely soap dispenser choices. The experience was very therapeutic and I felt calm, aware, and refreshed afterwards.

What an interesting experience! I went expecting to have an out of body experience but it wasnt like that at all. Its very comfortable floating in the tank (DO NOT GET THE WATER IN YOUR EYES!) and its easy to stretch and move your body in ways that arent possible or comfortable on dry land, so to speak. The facilities are immaculate and the staff was very friendly.

Amazing relaxation. Water felt a little chilly at times. Tension is peeled off my body. Will need more sessions to fully feel comfortable. Clean and inviting environment. Towels could be softer and felt like they were dried on a clothes line.

This is a truly sublime experience... not just the floating (which you should definitely try, if you never have) but the entire ambiance, facilities, and all the services are just a really great. The place is brand new and gorgeously done, plus the owner (Jeff) is SO personable and really into what he does and really just wants to share his joy for the rejuvenating/restorative/centering potential of floating.

Always good to float but ... the float tanks are lined with rubber which is a little disconcerting and smells funny. The float tanks dont have pre or post float dim lighting available inside either which can make it a bit jarring at the start and end of your float. The salt level is perfect though allowing for excellent buoyancy unlike some other places Ive floated at.

Review №19

Not a bad experience but I dont think Ill be going back. The Pros: clean room, friendly staff, good salt ratio that allows for buoyancy, and the temperature of the water was nice. The Cons: hard to see going in and out of the tank, the tanks take up so much of the room that its difficult to maneuver you items away from the shower (though I cant speak for the other rooms, this was the case for mine), and the worst part of the experience — the smell. The tanks are lined with a rubber that has a strong vinyl smell. I am sensitive to smells, smell can trigger migraines for me, and I could not stay in the entire scheduled duration of my visit. I think this place could benefit from some sort of airflow in the tanks to help with the overpowering smell. I was unable to completely relax because of the off-putting smell. This is the #1 reason I wont be going back.

Let me start by saying how excited I was to try my first float session. Upon arriving I was told that that they were running behind because it had been a crazy day. We were then instructed on what to do prior to our float session. She used some profane language which was extremely unprofessional. In my room the tank that I was in was sanatizing while she was talking to us. I was told once it stopped running I can get in. The tank finished while I was showering and I got in about a minute after. As soon as I opened the door to the tank I had shortness of breath, I felt dizzy, and I coughed with every breath that I took. I sat in the tank for about 2 minutes thinking it would pass but it did not. I jumped out feeling dizzy and took a cold shower. I had to get dressed quickly and get outside for fresh air. One of the ladies there went in and said she flushed the air out and it should be better now. I did not get back in the tank. I was told that the manager would call me on Monday. It is Saturday today. My wife did not have this issue. I work in the swimming pool industry so I knew something was wrong. I looked into it and it turns out that I was inhaling PURE OZONE or 03. Ozone is a powerful oxidizer and can cause lung irritation and damage if inhaled. Do yourself a favor and look up what ozone damage can do.When my wife finished her session the lady at the counter apologized for what happened to me and said that the other lady did not know what she was doing and did not properly sanitize. She also stated that there was another lady with the same problem that I had about 20 minutes after me. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM! What if I would have passed out and kept breathing that for my entire 60 minute session.Never again.

Loved this place! My chronically aching back felt great after just one session. Ive never found anything non-medicinal that could take the pain away like floating did, so Im totally sold. The facilities at Float Annapolis look and feel very high end, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the owner took me on a tour so I could see their super fancy filter system for the float tanks. The owner was very nice to talk to, and he explained things really well. I will definitely be coming back regularly! Thanks, Jeff!

**update**I had responded to an email asking for my thoughts about my experience, and the response back was basically what I wrote in this review. The response I got from the owner was INCREDIBLY inappropriate and unprofessional, excusing the behavior of the employee on his financial woes of how hard it is to keep a business open. I was appalled. The email exchange was enough to make me never want to return, and to definitely make sure my review was as complete as possible to warn others. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place for float sessions!!!....I had been once before and had a great experience.... but...This time the girl working made this experience incredibly disappointing. I arrived early and she asked if I would like to start early. I was ok with that. She showed me into the room, and then told me because I was starting early my time would end early (which was fine), but then she said that the music normally played to indicate the session was over sometimes can be heard in the other tanks, and she was going to knock when my time was up since she didnt want to disturb the other people when their time was beyond my hour. I didnt think much of this at the time, but Im pretty disgusted that the comfort of other customers and consideration of their float time was a higher priority than mine.My session was fine, but when she knocked it startled me (unlike the music which is calming a pleasant way to end things), and I sat up quickly since I was almost asleep and got the salt water in my eyes. I was going to chalk this up to a meh experience and not leave a review, but when I pulled up the website the FIRST thing you see is a quote from a client raving about arriving early, starting early, and finishing at his scheduled time. I would have rather waited until my start time, or given the extra 15 minutes like the guy in the review, than having it end abruptly. Not impressed, and really disappointed that my rare day to go do something by myself, for myself was like this.

I scheduled floats for two separate special occasions that were two months apart and, on both occasions, they were closed! Keep in mind, Id received e-mail confirmations for both floats. After being contacted by them in response to my complaint, the excuse (for both appointments) was that their scheduling was screwed up.DO NOT UTILIZE THEIR SERVICES! There are a couple of other Float places in the area that are a lot more reliable.-------------* Response to owners response:Yes, this IS quite interesting...that you are just now responding to this review. We have had more than one negative incident with your service, and it was well-documented by your mother (who was still working there at the time). If you need additional/specific information, check your past email & voicemail messages.

My girlfriend and I had done a float in Austin Texas for the first time before Christmas and both loved it, so I scheduled a float for us here for Valentines Day. We came in at 5pm on Feb 10th for a 40 minute sauna session followed by a 90 minute float session. Before we got in the sauna, one of the float rooms was ready, but the young woman said the other still had to have the cleaning cycle run while we were in the sauna. After the sauna, I was given tank 1 and my girlfriend tank 2, the one that was recently cleaned. After I got out of mine after 90 minutes with no issues, I found out that she got in hers and started coughing immediately, got light headed and almost passed out. She had to get out after only 3 minutes and sit under a cold shower to keep from passing out. It is exactly as the other 1 star review on this site describes. My girlfriend is a healthy 32 year old with no respiratory problems, and had no issues during our previous float at another establishment. The young woman did nothing to mediate the situation other than let her sit in the massage chair until I got out. We called the owner the next day to get a refund for her float, and have not received a call back. I called again and got no answer, so I emailed after that and still no response. Ozone or not, if something really serious happened to her as a result of the tank chemicals, like passing out (and yes, you can float face down and drown) this could have had an unthinkable ending. The fact they have not reached out and taken responsibility or even offered a refund is unacceptable. We were not given waivers to sign so we will be taking action if this is not resolved.UPDATE: The owner recently contacted me and was sorry that this happened and refunded our money. A cleaning cycle only meant to run at night was possibly used for the cleaning before our float. He is looking in to his staffing and procedures to eliminate this issue from happening again.
