Sam was genuinely sweet and friendly. I enjoyed my time there. She is very honest with any hair advice you may ask her. She did such an excellent job on my hair(I have thick hair)my hair was very long and looked dead. I left with a beautiful cut and my hair looked brand new and healthy! It was a pleasant, refreshing experience for me. Thank you Sam. Ask for her!

Varuna is an exceptional spa experience every single time. I have worked with several stylists now and truly each one is as great as the next. I have never once been dissatisfied with a cut. The appointment starts right on time, the products are great (they sell the products but are NOT pushy at all), their personal blend cup of tea is delicious, and the results and experience is a 10 out of 10 every time. Massages are always great and the massage therapist is always very well trained and versitle, too. Highly recomended!

Update: Varuna called me back and I appreciate their customer service to try to rectify the issue. I appreciate that they reached out.To say the Chakra massage is a disappointment is an understatement. The website description is correct except it leaves out that the massage is only about 15 min and only on your back and feet - guess Ive been to too many others where an emphasis on any area didnt totally discount the rest. In addition, the meditation is about 25 min long and almost entirely unguided and what was said was pretty uninspiring. The front desk attendant didnt seem surprised when I mentioned it was unsatisfactory. The oils were nice.

I love this place !! Garret has take care of my hair for a long times and I love it, he is just wonderful. Everyone there are always so nice and happy. I also go to their spa which I also love I they al away have great masseuses. I highly recommend this place . In general it is a super clean so welcoming place. I always walk out very happy .. after trying a few well known places in Annapolis , I stay with Varuna and I am not planning to change it anytime soon!

If youre hesitant about getting back into self-care and going to a salon.....have NO fear at Varuna Aveda. Temperature screening upon arrival and a VERY clean and socially distant waiting area. They do disclose that there is a nominal $2.25 COVID-19 cleaning fee which I was more than happy to pay. Business are struggling right now so if they need to have such fees to support their safety/health/sanitization efforts, by all means charge me! It also gave me the warm and fuzzies that theyre focused on the health and safety of their patrons. Beyond that, Lucia gave me (not the first time) the most amazing massage! Her energy is calming and let me tell you, I could fall asleep to her voice. Overall, it was a great way to spend a part of my Saturday taking care of ME! Thank you Varuna Aveda!! I will be back!

Been here for a wedding hair style and two cuts. Style was by Robert (I believe) first haircut Amanda, and Antonella recently fixed a botched cut i got at Robert Andrew. Every service I’ve had was wonderful. My friend also had her makeup done by Robert and it was perfectly natural and glowing!

Im pretty sure they will delete this review vs fixing the problem because I noticed that they delete reviews that show them in a bad light , I gave my friend money to treat her self at this spa because Ive heard nothing but good things about it ... Only to hear how horrible it was from my friend about a week ago and was shocked at how many people were in the spa !!!!!, For crying out loud we are in the middle of a pandemic and their packing their salon like theres no tomrorow , the prices are extremely high for the mediocre services they provide , my friend wanted a simple massage and couldnt even get that, I will not be recommending this place to anyone if they care about their health and safety and Im shocked someone hasnt called the health department on them for over packing their salon with appointments during a pandemic , Im very dissapointed .

I have long curly hair and I hadn’t had my hair cut in three years. Finally I went to Varuna and had Liz, SHE WAS AMAZING! She actually cut my curls like I hadn’t had before, one at a time and dry upon request so I could really see how the curl fell. Took off five inches and am so happy with how she took care of my hair.

Awesome! I go a few times a year for a full body massage. Today, John was my therapist and he was absolutely fabulous! He was very considerate of my body type and comfort level. I would definitely ask for him again!

I was in need of a new stylist and after lots of research I decided Varuna Aveda was the place for me. Now the next hard part was picking a stylist since they are all experienced and talented. After checking out some bios I felt like Garrett was a good fit and I wasnt wrong. The salon itself is beautiful with a nice seating and reception area up front. I was immediately greeted by staff and offered several choices of beverages while I waited, which was probably less than 5 minutes. Garrett came out and introduced himself and took me back. I almost expected him to run because I have a LOT of hair and it was way too long but he didnt bat an eye which immediately calmed my nerves. He gave me a good consultation, shampoo, and we were on our way to the cut. The thing that struck me the most about Garett was he didnt try to make me into something I am not. He cut and styled my hair in a way that I can actually do myself at home with my skill level and using tools and products I am comfortable with. I am pretty natural and dont like to do too much to my hair and he followed that. Sometimes you leave a place looking like a stranger and cant wait to wash all the products out and that wasnt the case here at all. Another bonus was I felt like I had known Garett all my life. The conversation flowed and he has a wonderful disposition. All around it was a great experience and I am excited and looking forward to my next appointment.

Amanda Is a fabulous hair stylist and colorist. She makes me feel great about myself and she makes my hair look awesome!!! But she best feature is that she tells you the truth, which is why I go there. She is the specialist not me and she gives me options - which I love. Thank you Amanda!!!

Ive been seeing Amanda S. for my haircuts every 6 weeks for months now and my hair has never looked or felt better. She creates beautiful layers and angles that give shape to my long curly/wavy hair and the balyage highlights I just received were worth every penny. The entire process was so relaxing and she definitely worked her magic. Ive gotten so many compliments. The massage and facials here are top notch too! I had my first facial this past weekend and I literally dont know why I havent had one before this. Jill did such an amazing job. She was super knowledgeable and willing to answer my questions along the way. Im very sad that I wont be able to use her again in the future unless Im in town visiting family again. I highly recommend her! The whole staff was super friendly and the whole place just gave you that zen feeling that you crave when you go to the spa.

Aimee was awesome, bar far the best treatment I have ever had. Will be going back to see her again. The spa is nice and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The hot tea they offer was good and was nice drinking it from an actual mug and not some cheap cup. The relaxing area before you go in for treatment was nice.

Love this place! I was referred here by a friend when i moved to Annapolis 10 years ago, and I never go anywhere else for hair or spa treatments. Amanda is an excellent stylist and i highly recommend her. . I also enjoy their spa packages and products. Every person who works here is warm and friendly and provides great customer service.

I spent too many years just getting a haircut and never really liking how my hair looked. I decided to go to Varuna and lucked out getting Liz to cut-style my hair. She takes her time and is very attentive to what she is doing. My hairstyle is not edgy or trendy, but I love how it looks every time, and I always get complements.

My experience with this salon has been touch and go but my stylist today, Jessica, did an amazing job. She talked to me about my hair type and helped plan a cut that was flattering. From the shampoo massage to the styling this was a great cut. Highly recommend!

As someone who I constantly moving, Im always trying to find a new hair dresser and someone that gets me. I read the reviews for this salon and was very hopeful. I absolutely love Aveda salons and the products that they carry and the talent profiles seemed very promising. I was initially disappointed with my cut and color, but the salon worked with me to get to where I wanted to be. After I was scheduled with a new stylist (master stylist) Ronnie, she was AMAZING! She was able to translate exactly what I wanted and gave me a fantastic haircut to!

I love Aveda products and think this salon was very nicely designed. My service here has been inconsistent in quality. I would suggest getting a personal recommendation and requesting specific staff for your visit. It’s not very easily accessible so make sure you plan extra time to park and walk to this spot.

Excellent hair cut.

Had a 90 minute with (relatively) new esthetician, Harper, and it was outstanding. She has a healing touch and her energy is calming, yet confident and composed. Highly recommend a service with her -- especially on a quiet late afternoon when its raining outside and the chill is in the air.

Liked the atmosphere and quality of hair color and cut I received. Was a little dissapointed by my stylist being late and a bit disillusioned by another stylist dressed in a mans, loose fitting tank top worn over a very visable sports bra. (It was a Sunday and only 2 stylists were working) It was not my normal experience of professionalism I have come to expect from Aveda hair salons.

Cant speak for the Spa experience, never got there. Charged my credit card $70 on Jan 8th for a surprise for my mothers 70th birthday. On Feb 28th she showed up only to be turned away. I finally spoke to the Owner Ricardo. He couldnt care less. He arrogantly asked me to prove that I had actually paid. I did via email. It is now 30 days later and he still hasnt refunded my money after following up several times, apologized for embarrassing my mother or to me. This guy is a piece of work. The Spa looks nice but the guy running it is a first rate buffoon.
