Burson is one of the worst. Talk about drama, she doesn’t listen, gets mad if you correct her, literally called me and yelled at me over the phone when asked to correct her mistaken notes. Accuracy in this profession is important. At least it is to this patient. If you don’t care about being heard, having your symptoms actually researched and finding root causes, if you like being talked down to and arguments about which is a mail order pharmacy and which is not, you’ve come to the right place.

Go somewhere else. The doctor I see seems to rush through appointments and throws pill at whatever they think you might have. The nurse I deal with is rude and unprofessional, and acts like she is better than her patients. (Honey, without patients you wouldnt have a job, BYH.)You could die of old age waiting to get a call back on test results. And make sure they verify you by DOB and name - saw them get blood draws wrong by just verifying a common first name (John - there were 3 men named John waiting for blood tests that day). The last 3 Rx refills I have needed were never called in to my pharmacy - I called my cardiologist to have new scripts sent over - thank God for them, they get them called in within 30 minutes most of the time.

Currently 3 weeks into trying to get a very necessary medication refill with no luck. (Had the prescription for 3 years). Doctor didn’t call in the prescription after a yearly check in, and then still didn’t call in the insurance authorization after several attempts to follow up. Calls to the office aren’t returned, After hour answer line is absolutely no help. Was told I could go to the clinic to be seen again to force it through, which would require another copay. And then was told I “should have stayed on them during business hours”, as if I hadn’t been calling every day. A doctor should not need babysitting. Save your time and money by going somewhere else. This clinic is a joke with a bad punchline.

We have been patients since Dr. Whelchel was at AFP. Changed PCP twice and were not given a choice. Sometimes it also feels as if our newest PCP does not listen to how we feel when it comes to our own healthcare. When asking for a recommendation for specialty care he simply ignored my daughters request. This is very disappointing considering now she has already been treated for the same condition/problem 3 times.

If I could leave a zero, I would. I was a patient of Dr. Hale’s for 20 years. Loved him. We may have had discussions about different issues, but we were in a patient/doctor relationship—just as it should be. When he left, I couldn’t seem to get into his new office. I was placed with Dr. Spurlock who was still a great physician but clearly ready to retire. So, before he up and left too, I transferred to Abby Leake. What a mistake. She was always condescending, rude, arrogant, and there was no patient/doctor relationship. There was one way—her way. I was always taught to keep a participating role in my medical care. But, that wasn’t how it was with her. I also found my records were not up to date with changes, I had the wrong levels of medication being sent to the pharmacy, and the pharmacist even contacted me with concerns. I saw another poster that had the same problem! When I called Leake’s office to get help with this issue, I was brushed off and told the nurse would contact me. This was blood pressure medicine and I waited over a week for a simple call back. Was this on purpose? I really feel like they pick and choose who they want to help and when. Finally, I get a letter in the mail from Leake saying she was discharging me and to never come back to their office at all EVER. I had been a patient at Family Physicians since 1985 and never had a problem until she was my physician. I guess I was discharged and told to get lost because I conferred with my pharmacist? I tried to contact her and was ignored! Horrible doctor and nurse. My review won’t mean anything to her continuing practice, but just sharing in case anyone else finds themselves experiencing the same.I’m with a different clinic now and it’s much better. Just be warned, if she chooses to dump you, be prepared for the upheaval of finding another doctor. It’s her way or the highway. You have no voice.

My Husband & I were longtime patients of Dr. Whelchel (We really liked him) When he left, that is when we tried Dr. Martin. Im so glad we did. He makes us feel comfortable, he is down to earth but caring, and what he has done for me in a few visits has helped me more than years of going to other Doctors! His pleasantly calm demeanor is also appreciated.

The receptionist or front office people need training in PR. My father passed away 2 weeks ago and Ive faxed over a simple form for a physician signature twice and called them 4 times this week and not One time have they transferred me to speak with someone that can actually help me, much less say Im sorry for your loss. Very disappointed in the lack of care or service.

I have never had any bad experiences with this place. My daughter and I both have received excellent treatment. It’s unfortunate that most only feel a need to review if they have a bad experience. The place is very busy. Also goes to show that not everyone is inclined to write a review unless it is a bad one.

Dr. Malone and his nurse Shayla have been extremely professional and courteous. They listen to the patients concerns and problems without judgement or condescending remarks. They take their time to treat the patient and make you feel like a person not a number or nuisance. I trust them and have a great deal of respect for them. Dr. Malone is a good Dr and nice person. Shayla is a good nurse. Both are proactive when it comes to to their patients. Im am very pleased I found them. A big thanks to both of them.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND TONIA HUDSON PAShe DISCHARGED me without notification and after being a patient of Dr. Spurlock’s for 45 years with extreme respect until his retirement. I even had an upcoming appointment with her concerning my recent pneumonia and slight heart attack. The whole experience was extremely unnecessary and of course no one wanted to hear my side. I could continue but enough said. Of course there is much more to the story and I think we could have both made better choices but discharging me was her choice.

I have never felt more neglected and taken advantage of. I went in for pinched nerves they didnt weigh me they gave me an x-ray. You cant see a pinched nerve in an x-ray and charged me $145 just for office visit but couldnt explain to me why. Then they put smoking cessation for $25 I couldnt explain to me why. they just said it was for insurance so just to get X-rays it cost me $400 for an office visit all together. Dr. Martin seemed clueless and uninterested in trying to help me he kept asking me what do you want me to do for you. he then proceeded to tell me that he was going to take the nurses advice and really couldnt explain to me anything that was going on with my back my pinched nerve my swollen legs or anything I left there more clueless then when I first came in

I have been a patient for over twenty years. I saw and loved Dr Carruth until he retired. Then I was a patient of Dr Welchel whom I also loved. After he left they placed me with Dr Barajas and thats where my dissatisfaction comes in! I cant get a call back from his nurse with lab results. I have had to contact them twice about refilling prescriptions because they wont return pharmacy calls either. After being a patient of his for about four months now, I had to call again today about a prescription refill. I was told he no longer worked there! Why would you not contact his patients and let them know??? Now I have to choose a different doctor and go in to see him before I can get my prescription refilled and its almost out! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

The front office staff is HORRIBLE! They are rude, condescending and hateful. They never answer the phone in a timely matter. When scheduling an appointment they askWhat is the reason for your visit? I explained nicely that I would rather discuss that with my provider since it was personal and I was slightly embarrassed for the reason. The woman was mad that I would not give her a reason. She said I could not be seen without a reason. I didnt know she was the one who decided who was worthy enough for the doctors time.

Review №31

I normally see Dr. Allman and she has always been great! I’ve gone to her for a few years now and never had any issues. This review isn’t about her, it’s about the nurse practitioner I saw because Dr. Allman wasn’t available. I messed up my nose pretty badly, so I had to be seen by my primary physician in order to be referred to an ENT specialist. The NP Bromwell didn’t do any physical exam on my nose, instead said she wanted to do X-rays. (Which from everything I’ve heard is almost completely useless when it comes to the nose since it’s mostly cartilage.) She said she couldn’t see any fracture on the X-ray and that there’s no reason to refer me. Because it “should heal on its own”. This wouldn’t be an issue if you couldn’t visually see how crooked my nose is. It is completely jacked up, when facing forward the bridge of my nose is pushed to the left. It also feels like I can’t breath, and hurts like hell. I had to argue with her and insist that she give me the referral to the ENT. I then asked her to feel my nose, because she still hadn’t.. to which she replied well I can see that it’s crooked and then barely touched it. This is the only exam she did besides the xrays. I feel like it was completely irresponsible for her to make this decision solely based off X-rays. Even if it may heal on its own, it is my choice on whether I want to live the rest of my life with a crooked nose. It is also my choice if I want to have the ENT look at it and actually do a physical exam!

Dr. Abby Leake is a horrible Dr. I had my appointments cancelled with less than an hour to go after waiting 8 days. She failed to keep my records up to date in both my condition and medications. She quadruple my blood pressure medicine and I was concerned. After checking my records online I saw that she hadnt updated her last increase and still showed 10mg instead of 20mg. She prescribe a meloxicam twice and made no mention of the severe risks involved with taking warfarin. I was unwilling to take the risk (something she didnt tell me) and my pharmacist was upset and was going to call her and refuse to fill it. Then she prescribed it again. It just gets worse. I dont have insurance and thought I was lucky finding this place. I am unable to work and financially strapped. I cant help but feel like she was trying to run me off by treating me badly and making misdiagnoses. I have a lot of health issues that did not get taken care of because of the mistreatment I received at the hands of Dr. Leake. I emailed her about a problem and she asked me to come in at 5PM when they turn into an emergency clinic. She misdiagnosed my foot saying it was severely infected and told me to go the the ER. I said it was more of a sprain and could we wait and see. She said I needed to go right now. I am diabetic and worry about loosing a foot or more. She scared me so bad I went. The ER Dr took one look and said it looks more like a sprain and I said thats what I told her and when I told him I was sent from an emergency clinic he just shook his head. So on top of my financial stress I had to add 9000+ to what I owe. She is a Board Certified Dr (BCD)but does not go by their code of conduct. I have talked to two other BCD and asked how easy it would be to make that same misdiagnosis and they said a mistake shouldnt be possible but there could be circumstances where it might happen. I then show them the Photos of my foot from that night and they both asked me who my lawyer was. I am filing a full report with the American Medical Association. There is more but I think I have said enough for now.
