Ive been seeing Dr Taylor since 2010. Dr Taylor is a great dentist. Its just a house thats been converted but they have all the great technology. The staff is wonderful too. 2nd to None!!! I hit my tooth with a belt buckle, it ended up turning dark because it was dying - I had to get root canal then was given the greatest advice by Dr. Taylor to get it treated for the change in color, he explained the different options in a step by step process, and I choosing bleaching. In ONLY 2 VISITS i was done. The team there is excellent, friendly and very professional. He is my forever dentist!! Recommend them 100%

I’ve been going to this dentist since 1996.They do a very thorough job in cleaning my teeth, and a complete check for issues, keeping track from one appointment to the next of any “watch” items. I’ve only had one major issue with my teeth that they fixed with a crown (grinding teeth) and a mouth guard. Because of the great job they do in maintenance i don’t have any long term issues. I still go to them even though I moved form 2 minutes away to 30 minutes away.

Great bedside manner and great response times. When I had a chipped tooth overnight, they got me in the very next morning. And I was a new patient with that being my first visit. When I had a second tooth crack years later, they got me in the same day and made arrangements for me to get in that day with an endodontist to get a root canal.I would definitely recommend this dentist if you are looking for a professional and courteous dentist with a great staff.

I have been a client of Dr Taylor for over 10 years. A year ago I retired and moved to North Carolina. I thought about finding a new dentist, but instead I decided to travel the two hours to go back to where my teeth are happy and well taken care of. I arrived on time and Dr Taylor saw me in the waiting room and came out to welcome me back. Thats what you want in a doctor. I was not just another file folder in his cabinet. The other reason I came back was because of his incredible hygienist, Luz. While I want a good doctor, the person who is in my mouth the most is the hygienist. I left my last dentist because it was always painful to have my teeth examined, cleaned, polished and x-rayed. With Luz, I could just about go to sleep. I never feel like Dr Taylor is mining for gold in my mouth either. I have 30 year old crowns in my mouth and he has never once suggested they needed to be replaced. Finally, at my age gum care is of paramount importance and for the past 5 years Dr Taylor takes the time to check around every tooth and notes the condition of my gums to ensure that no deterioration has occurred. There is no other dental group I have experienced as good as Old Alabama Dental.

Very helpful and accommodating staff ! I had to find a new dentist after 20 years with the same one and Dr. Taylor was a great find. He explains things slowly and easy enough to understand and does not make you feel pressured into doing anything. Great view when sitting in the chairs too...

Ive been going to the dentist for 35+ years. I hate it. Between the squeak of the ultrasonic scaler (which gives me the nails-on-a-chalkboard feeling) and the feel of the polishing paste, I absolutely dread going to the dentist. Id been using a big box dental chain for the past 15 years, and due to COVID, they cancelled my cleaning appointments no less than 3 times over the past 6 months. On the advice of a friend, I scheduled an appointment at Old Alabama Dental Care. Holy moly, THIS is what going to the dentist should be about. Friendly office staff and hygienist, NO LECTURES about flossing/gum health, and they were able to accommodate my desires for hand scaling and the prophy jet with baking soda. I left feeling completely satisfied and even called my boyfriend to gush over my experience. Who would have thought you could leave the dentist feeling EXCITED? Not this lady. I will be using Dr. Taylors practice from now on and spreading the good word.

Top notch dental care - Everyone is wonderful, Dr Taylor, his front office staff and the dental techs, everyone is so nice and cares about there service and quality of care. Every time I walk in (Ive been going for 5+ years) says hello to me by name its is just so nice. I recently got my 1st crown and I was nervous! Dr Taylor and his tech took such good care of me, even the practice manager ( I think that is who she was) came out to the waiting room and tried to help me relax simply because as she walked by she could tell I was not happy. I am highly anxious around dental work! Shoot me in the knee - I wont flinch. Put anything near my teeth and Ill tell you anything. I just had my first root canal. I thought Id die. But - Dr. Taylor recommended I talk to my primary care provider to get something to take the edge off. Then they gave me gas. Through the whole procedure he was soooo nice and understanding. His assistant was an angel and she was very reassuring. They let me know the stages and % done they were. They let me stop a breathe (sinuses). I never felt rushed, but they worked very quickly. It wasnt bad at all! Next time I might not need the gas! I totally trust Dr. Taylor. He is the best. He never judged me and made me feel ok about my anxiety. Also - he never pushed me to have the work done. My last dentist wanted me to have a million crowns and whiteners and all that junk. Dr. Taylor told me it was time - and I trust him. I am a patient - not a client! I HIGHLY recommend!

Professional. Friendly. Quality. Organized.

Unprofessional. Awful. No bedside manners. The doctor has a condescending, scolding tone. He did a filler between my front teeth but left a gap next to the gum. It always looks as if I have food stuck between my teeth. Also the color doesnt match. I was charged $500 for the work. When I asked him to fix it he claimed it couldnt be done any better. When I complained to the front desk he refused to see me and asked for me not to go back. Later on he refused to treat my mother because we were relatives.

The dental hygienists and the rest of the staff here are wonderful and do a spectacular job.

Always friendly and helpful, from the front desk through the entire process and back again. They dont teeth shame you if your flossing hasnt been perfect. Always seen quickly. Only issue is their parking lot is hard to get in and out of.

This visit was my first to OADC. I was looking for a new dentist near my home who took my Aetna insurance and had great reviews. I was very pleased with how nice and experienced everyone was at the office. During my checkup, they were even able to fit in getting impressions for a new night guard, which saved me a another trip. Unprofessional. Awful. I leave there feeling awful every time. I work in medicine and I would NEVER let my patients leave feeling the way I feel when I walk out their door. My family had gone to them for years but the doctor has a condescending, scolding tone and actually asked my living arrangement information to make sure I could pay my bill. Every time, I feel worse about decisions based off my dental health than I already do walking in the door. Never more informed about dental medicine. Not the place for me.

I’ve spent an hour in my friend’s car trying not to cry because of the cruel and unprofessional treatment I received from Dr. Taylor.I have a flipper (like a partial denture) to cosmetically replace my left canine. I lost the baby tooth my senior year of high school, and the adult tooth is impacted, meaning it won’t come down without the aid of braces. The flipper cracked recently, and I was hoping to have it fixed or replaced before going back to school in August.Dr. Taylor wouldn’t stop saying how ugly the flipper is, cracking belittling jokes about how I was deprived of orthodontic work as a child, and generally making me feel about two inches tall. He sent me away without a treatment plan. His advice was “to try not to smile until I get those braces.”Truly stunned by this experience.

Ive been going to Dr. Taylor since I was in middle school (Im now in my early thirties). When I went off to college and for a few years afterwards, I went to various other dental practices, but when I moved back to my hometown, I didnt hesitate to start going to Old Alabama Family Dentistry again. Theyve always provided excellent care and now, as an adult, I realize how wonderful they are to work with, how they dont press unnecessary services/procedures on me (or my fiance, now also a client), and how accommodating they are. The entire staff is exceptional and Ive never had anything but the best experience.

My husband wanted to do cleaning but they refused to provide him this service, they insisted that he do deep cleaning, he said he doesnt want it since its 280 dollars and he prefer to do regular cleaningsince its covered by the insurance, they just refused and even hang up on him when he said that he wont do the deep cleaning.

Front desk staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. The Hygienist was fantastic!
