First, this is a very enjoyable gym that I plan on going to for a long time with my family. As a gym it is great and the staff have mostly been very helpful. Big shout out to the folks who watch our kids. We did pull our kids from swim lessons after numerous negative experiences, but nobody is perfect.My main issue with this place is that it is the most concentrated collection of people (customers) disregarding public health mandates Ive personally seen a business allow throughout this whole pandemic. I understand that working with entitled people is difficult, but Id like to see Life Time make an actual effort here, grow a backbone, and tell people to put on a mask. The sign at the front door doesnt really do it.

This lifetime location is pretty solid. This is the third one I have used so far and it is pretty similar to the Onyx club in Burr Ridge. I would recommend lifetime for anyone who works out more than 3 times a week. If you don’t work out multiple times a week, this would be a great place to start. This location has everything you need and more.

The club is amazing. Ive been a member for years. Stop going and have rejoined. Austin my sales manager was a pleasure to work with. ☺. I use the gym 3 or 4 times a week. I work around the corner from another location in Schaumburg. But I still come over to my club in Algonquin. The service level is great. Im sure there all amazing places to decompress or just hang out and work out after a long day. I dont know that I agree with the new additional outdoor pool fee, as the membership is not cheap to began with😅😅. It is still worth it.

Ive been a Lifetime member for several years and have been very happy with the level of service, equipment, and classes offered. Since the pandemic there have been even more improvements that make me appreciate Lifetime even more than before. My favorite thing is being able to reserve spots for group classes through the Lifetime app and having stations cleaned and set up in advance. I hope this stays in place. Additionally, I have noticed the extra care the staff is taking to keep everything clean. I feel perfectly comfortable heading into the gym and love the ease of having a spot reserved in class. Way to go, Lifetime!!

They have had a change in management and the new management does an excellent job very clean and equipment is changed out regularly.

Was invited as a guest we went to a strength training workout then used the pool laid out in the sun then hot tub. Nice accommodations, clean facility, and staff was very friendly.

Came with my daughter to use the outdoor pool. Told $10 a person and was as specific as possible. Completely different price when I got there. Wed Aug 25th 4:30pm Not worth $50 to swim for 2 hrs. Very rude and unprofessional. Will not be back.

This review is for the kids center. They are AMAZING. My son was miserable when we first started coming last week. He cried the entire time I was gone. They have worked with him this past week, and today they said he only cried for 2 minutes after I left!! I am so proud of my brave guy and I am so thankful to the staff for not giving up on my emotional dude!

My family and I have really enjoyed working out and using the facilities here. Also, Austin C in membership was excellent. Highly recommend!

This afternoon I checked Lifetime website and was pleased to see that Algonquin club hours were extended to 11pm. I arrived at 9:45 pm but the doors were locked and no employees were in sight. I had to wait for a guest to leave to get inside. I found an employee who said extended hours dont start to next week. Why post inaccurate info on your website? This screwed up my night, so here I am.

So far so good. My only complaint is that I was told one thing by my sales person regarding the child mask policy and another by one of the childcare workers. The whole reason I signed up here was because of what I was told regarding that policy by my sales rep. Once I explained that to the childcare they were more understanding and actually said they would work with my stubborn 2 year old on keeping the mask on, which is great because that has been a struggle.Gym wise- the cardio selection is amazing. I’ve worked at and worked out at xsport fitness and cardinal fitness in the past. Obviously there’s a drastic price difference between those and lifetime but you get what you pay for at lifetime. The strength section is good but can be busy at times. I find in the mornings the older crowd tends to use it as social hour which can be annoying when they’re just sitting on the machines chatting but that’s at any gym. So far I’m pleased with the selection of equipment and each time I’ve left the gym feeling like I got a great workout.I signed up here because of the childcare aspect. I’ve been doing home workouts since my daughter was born and it’s just not cutting it anymore. The fact that lifetime offers trustworthy and interactive childcare and children’s classes is amazing. Due to covid my child has not gotten regular socialization with other kids and I was afraid it would affect her development. She loves going to lifetimes kids room so much that she gets upset when I come and pick her up after my workout, she doesn’t want to leave. So two thumbs up for that. I was afraid she wouldn’t want to go, but she has so much fun that she looks forward to it, allowing me to get in a great workout.So far we are very happy with joining lifetime. $100 a month is typically way more than I would spend on a gym membership but with how much my child will benefit from the childcare, it’s worth every penny to us.

Had my hair cut by Whitney at Lifetime today. Love it!!!! She really took her time and had many suggestions on something fresh. Highly recommend her. Also, she is such a sweety.

Good place with many amenities like a basketball 🏀 court, swimming pool, steam room, and sauna. But the sauna and steam room are closed due to the pandemic. Locker rooms are mostly clean but shower areas could be better.

Very unprofessional and disrespectful Regional Manager (Edward Zappile)!! This guy has shown this company does not care about small local companies at all. He had their management team at the Algonquin location handle getting estimates for a painting project only to disregard all the estimates the management team got and picked none of those contractors, 5 of them!! I would give you zero stars if I could.

Went to the Algonquin club for the 1st time and none of the cleaning stations had paper towels or the disposable wipes to clean the equipment that everyone is sweating all over! Not one station! But you need mandatory masks to walk from upstairs to the locker room. No common sense! The GM should look at the Bloomingdale location and see how they run it! Lots of cleaning supplies everywhere. I dont want the clubs to get shut down again. So lets fix this!

I love this gym. It has everything you could ever need. Sure they are pricier but they offer everything including indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, spa, and on and on. I love the fact they are 24 hours. I like to go at night when its not busy to just do my thing. I highly recommend this location. If you are looking for a massage - then Toni is your girl. I have had many massages over the year, and I will never have another person other than Toni do my massages. Ask for her you wont be disappointed.

I signed up at the lifetime in Bloomingdale, the place is amazing and so clean. I went to the Algonquin location cause its a bit closer to my house. I will avoid that location when I can. Gym area isnt as clean as Bloomingdale. The womans lockers are horrible, not clean at all. The pool area is a mess, now Bloomingdale had a ton of water weights. Algonquin I had to look around for just a pair asked the life guard and she had no idea where any were. Its sad you pay so much money and for what? Shouldnt they all look the same. Clean? Something needs to happy to that location.

Ive always received a great customer service from the Algonquin location. Guys at the kids club are all great. Guys at the swim department are awesome. This is the beat gym I have ever been to. I’ve done planet fitness, LA fitness, the YMCA and none have made me feel as valued as Lifetime fitness. Kyle Dorko is going to be your go to guy, he is a person before he is an employee in my eyes. I personally work in a sales and customer experience environment, it takes a lot to impress me. With Kyle and team Lifetime, for once I feel like I’m the one being taken care of. This is the gym if you have a family, if you want to make change to your health and if you are looking to invest in your life.I’m an old school guy that cares about the quality of what I get and I have to say that Lifetime upholds it’s mission statement and name. It’s a lifestyle.Go check it out! Me, my partner, my two kids love this place.

I have been a member at the Algonquin facility since it opened and I am really disappointed with what is going on regarding covid. I understand certain policy changes such as wearing a mask, however, I am very disappointed that Lifetime will not open the rock wall to the public even though the childs center is still using the rock wall. I joined Lifetime because it has a rock climbing gym, a very nice one. I am not paying for a day care, I do not have children therefore I do not receive any benefit from the day care. I live closer to Northwestern and get a discount through work, Im sad to say Im considering cancelling my membership with Lifetime as Northwestern does not have a rock wall. Additionally when I ask the Manager, Lindsay, when the wall will open, I get a very rehearsed standard answer, seems fake. I was also told they are happy to cancel my membership if thats what I prefer, that by no means is a response to help me understand when the rock wall will be opening back up.I would much rather prefer a climb at your own risk environment just like the rest of the facility is currently running, rather than closing the wall to the public and still allowing the day care to use the rock wall, that seems very hypocritical and money driven.

I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness Algonquin since its original opening. It offers a full range of exercise equipment at a clean, comfortable location. Monthly membership costs do represent a premium compared to other gyms, but there is a consistent sense that those funds are reinvested on maintenance and upgrades. Hard to imagine living in the area without a Lifetime membership.

I love Algonquin Lifetime! The facilities are very clean, the staff is friendly, the spa and salon services are great, the machines and workout floor are functional and clean, the yoga program is authentic and the studio ambiance is perfect, the smoothies are healthy and yummy, and I enjoy the sauna during the winter and the outdoor pool area in the summer... Lifetime literally has everything I need all in one place! Thanks Lifetime :)

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS LIFETIME!! Unauthorized credit card charges! Changes to my original contract without my permission! Never emailed the copy of original contract for the personal training. Way overcharged for services. No help from management. Nothing but a headache!!! Buyer beware! I will be sticking with Planet Fitness! At least there honest and upfront. Only leaving one star because it wouldn’t allow for a zero

I recently got a free two weeks of trial passes from Colin a sales associate. I have been loving the experience here at Lifetime. The staff has been treating me very well. No complaints so far. That’s until today 03/10/19 Sunday, I came in and was approached by Don Zeh that’s a member services Supervisor. You would think he would be phenomenal with customer service, But that was not the case. He came across as combative and made a massive deal about getting my license out of my vehicle when I was told days ago this very week that it was no problem to scan my temporary phone badge and sign off on the I phone tablet and proceed through. He refused my guest pass when the other gentleman was very kind and becoming and says he understands how I feel and have a great workout. When Don told me to have a great day basically telling me to leave the facility when I didn’t do a thing wrong. Doesn’t sound like a good experience does it? Come on Lifetime fitness, We can do better than that!

After having explored multiple gyms I will tell you this is my favorite. Its large, has a great child center, excellent cafe is you finish a workout before breakfast/lunch/dinner/elevensies/second breakfast/snack/tea time....etc... Any ways, I really do love this gym and though it may seem expensive, its prices are on par for with other gyms that offer similar amenities. And, if you travel a lot its nice to have a national brand, Ive used this location, Schaumburg, Atlanta and Tampa.

Thats okay but a lot of equipment theyre not open yet but theyre still charging full price I dont think thats fair for anyone I think they show cut their prices since half of their things are not running like their Jacuzzis are saunas I dont think thats fair for us to be paying full price and not enjoy what we like

I just got a massage at the Lifespa with Bobbi Jo. It was the single best massage I have ever had. She really took the time to listen to and focus on what I needed! I will definitely be back to her and I suggest if anyone needs a great massage to ask for her!

I have seen the same person who does my hair for over ten years. I have been loyal to him and have only seen one other person one time, during all the years that Ive seen him, and regretted it. Recently he has cut his availability and its hard to get in. So, I decided to try a different place.I was very nervous to go to a different salon but was referred to Life Spa by a coworker and decided to give them a try. The receptionist was very nice and I saw George for a haircut. I was so impressed by his professionalism and knowledge. He was confident but also took his time to give me a perfect cut and color. Cant wait to go back!!I am so happy I found another person I can trust. My expectations were definitely exceeded. Thanks Life Spaand George!

I participate in various weekday 5am group fitness classes. The place is 1 mile from my house and very conveniently located. The gym has a lap pool, racquetball courts, basketball / volleyball courts (no tennis court / running track), kids pool, kids swim lessons, kids daycare (2 hrs), hot tub, steam rooms, sauna, etc. Locker rooms are nice. Members at the gym and instructors are all fun folks, this is a great place to be.

Hard to find parking. Way too packed. Not enough space for the amount of people. Have a favorite machine there is probably only one and it will be taken. Rock climbing is pretty much always closed and the indoor waterside is not on enough just a few short hours on weekends only. The only benefit is that there is a child center if you can catch it open. I took my son to the child center today and they told me they had closed due to weather. For the price I’m paying I am not satisfied with this place.

I am so furious with Life Time Fitness Aquatic team. They kept pushing us around from one time to the other and when we would show up they would tell us to leave because either the class was too full or that they did not have us on the schedule. One time the pool was closed because of the maintenance, no one notified us so we showed up to class, after kids changed, just to come to a closed pool. And we were not even able to make it up. Last time we were scheduled to make up a couple of classes (that we called in due to traveling) and one member was helpful enough to put it in the calendar, or so it seemed, but when we showed up today, they said we can leave unless we pay for these classes. I feel like I was scammed. I never write complaints online, but this just threw me over the top.

Great facility. Members for years. Love the pool & rock wall. And now that I have been to about all the climbing gyms in Northern Illinois I can say the Algonquin LT has THE BEST indoor rockwall gym in the region.

Recently joined. Expensive but lots of amenities. If you do not have children. Seems like each person so far has something different to say as far as policy. Theres been a bit to many well technicallys so far. I started to bring my own cleaning spray if I need to use showers. *Enough said. Will let you know in a week or so if anything changes. Oh and yes the spa is WAY over priced and the massage my husband received was ehh, not worth my time. Wont go back for services there.Oh and the child center is a hassle. My 7 year old does not want to sit with the toddlers because you want to sit and chat! ! I hope things improve and this is just a couple bad days...although I feel like I shouldnt have to be the one going out of my way to make it a decent experience (isnt that their job) for the cost especially!

The gym itself is okay but some of the staff are really annoying, especially a guy there named Edward Lee. I just wanted to get there, do my thing and leave. Never wanted to be bothered by anyone but that guy will keep harassing you even after continually giving him the silent treatment. He even went as far as to bother me in the locker room! Never going back as long as hes there. The guy needs to learn boundaries.

I have been a member of this gym since 2001 and have always been met with great service. Undoubtedly this gym has continued to evolve with the fitness industry.This gym with all its current amenities runs me around $70 a month. this could be considered steep but includes all amenities such as hot tub, outdoor/indoor pool. If you are not interested in a lifestyle of health then this gym has too many options for you.The trainers: I have never worked with any of the trainers directly but I have heard good things. Jamal has hiked a mountain and another is a veteran. Whatever your fitness goals or questions are they can help.Lifespa: 5/5 again. The food is nutritious as well as excellent and they offer $5 smoothies of the day which are all great. Margret, Izzy, and Kia all are phenomenal and greet you with a smile.Operations/cleanliness:I can not possibly say enough about these guys. They are some of the hardest workers I have ever met. They work around the clock to ensure the gym is operational. Ryan b, Romano, Xavier, are a solid unit. These guys deserve promotions.Other notable workers: Janet, Pam and Robbie (Front Desk) Edward Lee (Sales)And Kenny. Kenny has been there as long as I have and deserves to be recognized as one of the hardest workers. I am taken back by how humble and grateful this man is. Incredible keen supervision over the facility. Without him and Ryan B I dont think this gym would be worthy my membership.I have worked and worked out at multiple gyms so I know when they are worth it.Also that girl who cleans in the morning. Shes cool too.All around excellent facility Well worth the price.Trust me I lost over 100lb since I joined.

Horribly inconsistent with enforcement of policy. Seems that they pick and chose who they want to make follow the rules. This goes for everything. Most recently in regards to guest usage. We saw that you could only bring a guest once every 60days but we didnt notice that until after the 3rd visit. No one ever said a single thing to us until we make the 30 minute drive to get here and now they want to enforce it. Interesting.

Taken a big turn for the worse in the last few months:1. Like watching TV while working out? You better like people being the color green as a quickly increasing number of TVs are partially failing. Some have been bad for 6+ months2. Sanitizing wipe stations are rarely looked after. In the last few weeks I had to walk around to 3-4 of them to find one with wipes multiple times..3. After a renovation last fall, they got rid of some basic machines and instead put in a jungle gym. They also moved the machines in the back so you have to zig zag between jungle gym users to get there.If your needs are pretty basic, you can do better for less money at this point.Disappointed...

Amazing gym! The only problem is their nutritionist, for $500 she told me to eat real food and calories dont matter....really? Even I know its a lie.

I recently cancelled my membership, and while I realize they dont want to lose business, they make it painful and almost impossible to cancel. Although while I was a member, I never had any complaints.

Nice facility but highly disappointed to find that i was being charged for a number of things i never signed up for. For example, i was charged 6 months for a Lifetime Magazine that i never signed up for nor ever seen come in the mail. The magazine charge appear in the monthly membership fee on your statement so you cant see the charge unless you sit down with a lifetime employee and make them show you the break down of your monthly fee. The employee told me that every member is automatically signed up for this until they cancel it... slapping on a secret charges is unethical

A great place to workout. Excellent Selection of equipment. Large locker rooms. Numerous classes.

Facilities: Facilities are varied and relatively clean. You can do pilates, basketball, wall climbing, sauna, and swimming. Classes are not free. Instead, you have Life Bucks that can come with the membership, which you can spend on paying for the classes. The equipment is mainly cleaned by the users before/after using it. Needless to say, some of the equipment is sometimes sticky. If they made sure the equipment was wiped and made sure bolts were tightened (one equipment had loose bolts for nearly a week) every 6 hours or so, it would be great. They do have plenty of towels and showers available. Ive only come across an empty soap dispenser once during busy hour, but there were showers always available. The facilities can get quickly crowded during busy hours so I recommend either going to the gym in the wee hours of morning, around 9 or 11 pm, or when everyone is eating lunch (around 2 pm).Staff: The staff is very sympathetic to your problems and do their best to resolve the problem quickly. I mainly had problems with my account manager. Know that everything (putting things on hold and quitting) have a 30-day notice and that putting your account on hold gives you a surcharge. My account manager failed to inform me of that until I ran across some problems doing so. I did find that the managers in general were hard to reach by calling so I would advise contacting them by email and by going over to the facility to meet the managers.Price: I am not sure about the prices of gyms around the area, but I have certainly been to cheaper gyms. This gym is not the priciest or cheapest but it does still cost a bit. Out of a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the costliest, I would give it a 7. In terms of what is offered for your money, I would give it a 5.

Very loud, trainers play their music over the house music, and then have to yell so that their class members can hear them, complained to management, along with other members, but it does seem to do any good. Been a member for 15 years, It is no longer enjoyable

The cancellation policy is ridiculous. The staff is not very friendly and it is very expensive.I do have to say that a few of the instructors are awesome!

Avoid this particular location! For as nice as this facility could be its absolutely filthy. Mold in the showers and steam room. Very poorly managed and run! Look elsewhere for less money

Nice gym, but Lifetime fitness Spa sucks. Spa employees are very rude people. They charge a lot but services are bad. Manicures and pedicures are made unprofessionally, and instead of the 60 min massage that you paid for, you would receive 40 min because of all the stupid paper work you have to fill it out.

Love this Life Time location! I am not a super fit gym buff, but I feel so comfortable here. The account manager (Curtis) was very helpful throughout the registration process. The Kid Center staff (Kaylie, Katelyn, Brina...) are great with kids and so pleasant. The kids programs and camp are magnificent beyond compare! The kids camp offers more than what I could offer at home--STEM activities, character development, field trips, swimming, sports and games--they do it all! Despite not knowing anyone, my five year old felt right at home from day one!Christine at the activities desk is super kind and helpful. Nica and Nico are always available to help. The camp staff is well-trained and are all so wonderful. The group fitness instructors are inspiring, encouraging, positive and professional. Saira, the AMP cycle and C9 instructor is a gem--and a real asset to the gym. She connects with each member and truly has a unique brand.My sons and I are known by name, and its feels great to be at Lifetime! I know there are several gyms in the area, but the quality of service and facilities make Lifetime the obvious choice for someone striving for a healthy mind-body-soul balance.

Aquatics management is aweful. They dont know what it is customer service. They apply pool rules when they feel like it. It almost feel that they apply them based on your background. The manager Scott Anthony does not know how to treat customers. I was asked to change my child’s swimming lesson to a different time the day of the lesson. Didn’t work out with us to figure out options since they closed my childs lesson because they didn’t have enough kids enrolled however they ask members to give a 30 day notice. We had been doing swimming lessons for over 2 years.
