I wish there were 6 stars I could give to the Atkinson Eye Care Team. From start to finish everyone here was friendly and accommodating. My husband and I came in as new patients looking for a more specialized and personable experience than the average low price vision chain stores could provide. This visit was worth every penny. Dr. Patel took the time to thoroughly examine and explain our current situations, and recommend quality products to assist us with all of our vision needs. I also want to give a special shout out to Brandy and Meg. These ladies are the dream team of helping you find new frames. We have never been to any other eye care office where employees have been so knowledgeable (and excited) about the specifics of the inventory, as well as the best styles to recommend for your face type. After many years of relying on Dr. Bill for the health and care of my own and my husband’s eyes, I realized that I’d never taken the opportunity to let others know what kind of experiences we’ve had over the years.Everyone we’ve come in contact with at Atkinson Eye Care have been top notch professionals. Starting with the scheduling of appointments all the way through to the final fitting of our new eye glasses and/or contact lenses, we have encountered kind and enthusiastic people.The practice is equipped with state of the art technology and procedures, which Dr. Bill uses to the fullest in determining the state of our eye’s health. He answers all our questions, and offers advice on how to keep the sight we have today from deteriorating.My most recent visit gave me the pleasure of working with both Meg and Brandy in choosing my frames. These ladies went above and beyond in finding not one, but two pairs of frames suitable for my needs. With protocols in place for mitigating the spread of the virus, Meg hand-picked over a dozen frames for me to consider. With Brandy close at hand to.offer a “second opinion “ I was able to find frames suitable for my lifestyle.They were patient throughout this sometimes difficult process, going so far as playing off each other’s comments and observations in a entertaining and comical way. I cannot say enough about my experience at Atkinson Eye Care. We moved to the Barrington area recently and chose them for my children’s back to school eye exams. I hadn’t had a visit with them myself yet when I woke up unable to open my right eye. Despite not being registered as a patient with them myself, they worked me in the same day and quickly diagnosed an ocular ulcer. Dr. Jay was able to immediately relieve my pain and set up a treatment plan. As part of the healing process, I needed to wear glasses instead of my usual contacts, but didn’t have any backup glasses. They were able to see me again the following day to update my prescription, chose the perfect frames, and walk away the same day with glasses. Thank you to Dr. Jay, Kathryn, Cindy, Brandy who together did an excellent job helping me to choose and fit frames and cut lenses on site.A++++++++ experience!

I haven’t had glasses I would wear out of the house for about 12 years now and I decided this was the year to get new glasses!!Brandy is super knowledgeable about eyeglass frames, face shapes and skin coloring. She chose frames that I would never have thought of! After we narrowed it down to three frames, the rest of the office staff came over and gave their opinion. Dr. Jay was awesome! He was very thorough and helped me find comfortable contact lens for astigmatism. Brandy was absolutely fabulous with assisting me in choosing a new pair of frames. Everyone was friendly and helpful!!

I have had some terrible experiences with chain offices in the past-so much so that it has been years since I have been to an eye doctor. My eyes have been fading a bit and I knew that I needed to find a new office to go to. So I did a google search to find a new eye doctor that would be a better fit for me. Enter Atkinson Eye Care. The doctors and staff are amazing, completely. They took time and listened to everything I had to say (and I can talk a lot) :) Sam took me back and did all my initial prep and was amazing. She made me feel comfortable and was so kind and nice and explained everything that we were doing. Dr Jay was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and talked through everything with me. Giving me lots of options and making me feel very comfortable with my choices moving forward. Brandy helped me with glasses selection and it was so much fun! She helped me pick out some fantastic ones and she and the other women in the office encouraged me to go with a pair that I really loved but felt that I might not be able to pull off. I CANT WAIT TO GET THEM! I am so excited and cant wait to rock them!Bottom line, every single people I spoke to at Atkinson Eye Care was warm, knowledgeable and completely lovely. They made me feel like I was important and my input was valuable. They are a bright spot and a warm hug compared to my past experiences at those shall not be named chain eye doctors. Atkinson Eye Care is a top notch practice. The staff is extremely outgoing, pleasant, and professional. I first visited the practice after experiencing headaches, and eye fatigue. This was new for me, as I have had no vision problems for 30 + years.Dr. Patel explained my condition (astigmatism), with such a great bed side manner, and helped me understand the factors that were causing my eyes to strain, which was the cause of my headaches.Meg helped me pick out glasses that were comfortable, and looked good as well. As this is my first time wearing eye glasses, I had a lot of questions, and Meg did a great job giving me options, and helping me avoid bad choices.Fast forward 6 months, I had a situation where my 2 yr old daughter hid my glasses on me in the morning, and I thought I lost my glasses. I had an upcoming business trip, and was in a tight spot, as not having my glasses would leave me unprotected from eye strain. This was a sign that I need to order a second pair of glasses, so that I had a backup pair.The staff at Atkinson was so helpful, found an opening in the schedule for me to come in that day to get fitted for a new pair of glasses. The glasses were on order that day, and since I was still experiencing eye strain, we add the Preventia coating to help. The customer service that Atkinson has demonstrated in all interactions, has been top notch. My wife and I are very grateful that Atkinson does pediatric opthamology, as our now 2.5 yr old has astigmatism, like her Dad.The last example that I would like to share, was several weeks ago, when I had gotten something in my left eye. It felt like there was sand in there, and I thought that maybe I had gotten pink eye. I was in a lot of pain, and since it was Sunday, I toughed it out til Monday AM, when the Atkinson office opened. The staff was great, they fit me in that morning with an appt with Dr.Patel. TL;DR, I had gotten something stuck under my eye lid, that was gently scratching my eye, and Dr. Patel was able to reduce the swelling with drops, and then clean the eye out a few days later.As I mentioned, every interaction that I have had at Atkinson Eye care, has been fantastic. My family and I will continue to trust the Atkinson team with our eyes, and I would recommend Atkinson to anyone, without reservation.Oh and one last thing...we found the first pair of glasses. Since my second pair of glasses had the Preventia coating, when wearing them, I was no longer experiencing eye strain. I followed up with Brandi about this difference between the two pairs, as I was confused why the Preventia coating (in addition to bluelight blocking Sapphire coating). Brandi offered to have the lenses for my first pair, remade, to include the Preventia coating, at no cost to me.This gesture went a long way with me, and solidified my loyalty to Atkinson Eye Care, as the whole team really sets the bar high when it comes to feeling like the most important client.Signed,A grateful client

As a professional proofreader who has worn gas permeable contacts for 45 years, I know my way around eye care. In 2020, whether rushing through the exam because of the Covid pandemic or just having a bad day, my long-time eye care specialist had declined to address an annoying discrepancy that had developed between the vision in my two eyes. I switched providers in 2021 and I highly recommend the excellent clinicians Dr. Elizabeth Atkinson and Jay Patel to anyone who is intolerant of vision issues. Melissa took a thorough history that made me feel valued as a patient. Dr Patel conducted an empathetic consultation that took into account my work needs, an ophthalmologic exam that staged my cataract conditions, and a diagnosis of the vision disparity between my two eyes. Dr. Atkinson followed up with expert fitting of new lenses and state-of-the-art computer glasses to address my lengthy daily exposure to blue light. Brandy selected a few frames of their many options in my stated budget and she could be a stylist with her uncanny perception of my taste. Altogether I am impressed with the quality of the staff at every level.

Thank You.... Thank you to Atkinson eye care for giving me my life back! I’m in my 40’s and have lived in a vision bubble for over 20 years. I couldn’t see much past 7 feet from me. I had seen many eye doctors that never listened to what I was telling them. I waited entirely to long to wear glasses. In doing so by the time I was legally blind it was to late. I couldn’t get used to them and it was way to much for me to transition. Headaches, depth perception and feeling sick to my stomach I gave up! Everyone I saw just kept putting into glasses and collecting my money. My wife made an appointment for me at Atkinson eye care and I was like here we go again. All puns intended this appointment was different a true eye opener! Dr Atkinson listened... something no other eye doctors did. He cared and the passion for what he does was obvious. He sat with me talking just talking no pressure to do this or do that. He was investing in me as his patient. Asking questions and taking the time to get to know me and why I was there. That made me feel good as everyone is different and everyone has different situations. In doing that I found myself dropping my walls and formulating trust!! We put together a plan. A custom plan that worked for me. He treated me as an individual with individual circumstances. As I sit here now writing this I tear up!!! He did more then just give me my vision back he gave me my life back!!!! For this I thank him!! I thank him for caring and thank him for daring to be different then all the rest!! If you are reading this you probably are in need of eye care. I would highly recommend this amazing doctor and is wonderful staff to everybody. An excellent team! I appreciated the steps that they were clearly taking to make sure all staff and guests are safe (due to COVID). Dr. Elizabeth was fantastic and so caring when I was getting my exam and was patient to make sure I was getting the correct prescription. After the exam, Brandy was an amazing help with getting me the perfect pair of glasses and sunglasses! She knew exactly which pairs to show me and made it very fun! I’ve been to Atkinson Eye Care three times this year and every visit was wonderful. From before you enter the building till you leave, the staff does everything to protect your safety (especially in these crazy COVID times) and make your visit as comfortable as possible. The staff and Dr. Elizabeth Atkinson (the optometrist I saw all three visits) are genuinely caring about you and your eye care. There was no rush feeling and they answered all my questions. On my last visit I had to get glasses for reading, especially since I do a lot of screen time with my job. This is the first time I’ve discussed glasses in 20+ years and I didn’t have a clue about what to get. Brandy and Carol were such amazing help. I have had great experiences with Dr. William Atkinson. He prescribed Ortho-K lenses for my son nearsightedness. My son wears the lenses at night while he sleeps and he can see great next day without eyeglasses. It is fantastic! Dr. William is very professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and can fit my son in for appointments first thing in the morning. He is always helping us to find appointments that will work for us. I highly recommend Dr. William because he truly cares about his patients. It was such a great atmosphere, wonderful, knowledgeable staff and especially a fantastic doctor.

The best Optometrist in this area! They have very friendly and professional staff and optometrists. What I really like about this place is their equipment are all latest technology. This really makes it easy on young kids. My kids likes getting their eyes checked at Atkinson. I think its combination of their equipment and friendly team. Recently my daughter broke her glasses at school. I was surprised to hear it was covered under warranty and no cost to replace. They ordered exact frame my daughter owned overnight express, so we got her replacement glasses next day! Wow, Atkinson proactively took care of everything. I was pleasantly impressed with this entire process. I highly recommend Atkinson eye care.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I brought my VERY stubborn 2 year old I with the assumption she was having vision problems. Upon examination, my instincts were correct. The Dr was so patient and made the experience as kid friendly as possible as did the entie staff. My daughter was diagnosed being SEVERELY farsighted and had probably never had clear vision since birth. Dr. Bill fitted her for her purple glasses that make her a super hero princess!! Fast forward to our 2 month check In and today she was able to see with 20/20 vision while wearing her glasses. He changed my daughters life! If youre looking for an honest, trustworthy, caring Dr and staff this is the place to go!! 🤓😎

I haven’t been to the eye doctor in 20 years so I was nervous and not sure what to expect. Dr. Atkinson was so nice! He asked about my family and told me about his and the nurse and the woman, Ellen, that helped me pick out my glasses were both so friendly and helpful! I appreciated the honest opinion I received when picking out glasses since I’ve never worn any before - I would hate to spend the money without having that opinion! About a month ago my wife took our 12yr old son to Atkinson Eye Care and felt they did a fantastic job. Since it was now time for me to have an exam my wife strongly suggested I make an appointment there too.I went in today for an exam and was absolutely blown away. I brought my mom to Atkinson Eye Care today for an eye exam. The doctors and their team was simply amazing. They were warm welcoming and extemely patient. We felt a geniuine concern for my mothers eye health. She was given a very thorough exam. I have to say it is difficult to find a doctors office that can serve someone who is in a wheelchair and unable to transfer. We was so pleased to see that Atkinson Eye Care was able to provide service for my mother while sitting in her wheelchair. They made sure she was comfortable during every process. We appreciate the experience we had on our visit to Atkinson.

I called to get my son in for an emergency eye exam. They got my son in right away and the doctor was able to get a piece of white fleck out of his eye giving him INSTANT relief. I decided to make my boys eye exam appointments before I left there office. Not only are they close to home but the staff is AMAZING!!!!!

Who wants to go to the doctor for anything. Well at Atkinson Eye Care I had so much fun with the staff. Dr. Bills exam was awesome had a test done that I never had done before for macular health. Awesome place, awesome staff, from reception to the technicians to the doctors to the sales people. Great selection for frames, lenses, contacts, and other vision needs. I had a more one on one experience with Dr. Bill, Ellen, and Renee (I think thats how her name is spelled. Its pronounced Rainy). I felt very comfortable and felt like I was being educated to be empowered to make my own decision rather than being told what to get. Ellen was very helpful in helping me select my frames and everything else I wanted. In the end, we were conflicted between two frames, so the ladies behind the desk helped with the tie breaker. And Ill put this out there since its a concern for me and others who may look different from the societal norms, but the way I dress and look, you can clearly tell my religion and culture, and Ive been to businesses where Ive felt uneasy because I clearly wasnt welcomed there, but I felt very accepted and welcomed by everyone in this office, and they have done a great job creating an inclusive environment. Their glasses selection has always been fantastic, and with a few simple questions and answers, the dr and the staff suggested contacts. For the first time in nearly 10+ years, I can see ! Thank you for the trial pair and answering all of my questions along with being patient with my children who go for their routine check ups. I will be back next week for a post check up to ensure the contacts are working out!

My first experience with Atkinson office was when I walked in one morning with no appointment. My eyes beet red, swollen, itching and hurting. I had been seen by two other doctors with no results. I so needed help and answers. The staff was wonderful and understanding they set me up to see Doctor Bill Atkinson and after filling out paper I was in his office. After my exam he was helpful working with me with my insurance for meds. Even the next day when I called they were able to get me in again right away. I was so impressed with the service and care I would recommend them to my family and friends.

Awesome experience I am new to the area therefore looking for someone that makes me feel comfortable is important. The moment I walked in I was greated with a smile. I didnt have to wait over 10 minutes the entire staff was vert pleasant. Dr. Atkinson did a very precise exam they helped me choose just the right color contacts i had to get a second opinion and they didnt mind asking another employee which color looked the best. The office is decorated with beautiful artwork .i have found my new eye doctor thank you guys for making me feel special.Valerie. H.

An eye exam may have saved my Dads life! Dr. Atkinson took a photo of the inside of my Dads eye. This photo revealed that my Dad possibly had high blood pressure or diebetes. My Dad went to the doctor and found out his blood pressure was dangerously high.My Dad was impressed by all the details of his exam and said hes never seen better. My Dad has problems with his eyes and other doctors just couldnt seem to get his glasses prescription right. Atkinson got it right. Ive been going to Atkinson for about 8 years and recommend them to everyone!

I’ve been seeing both Becky and Bill Atkinson for years. Wanting To surgically correct my eyes since I’ve needed glasses/contacts, they recommended LASIK with Dr. Probst at TLC In Westchester. After the consultation I booked the procedure the soonest possible date I could. I was in and out of that office in an hour and less than 5-10 minutes in the actual room getting the LASIK done. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made, I get asked often, is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! I see better now than I ever did with contacts. Westchester is a slight haul for me but you’re only there for the consultation then the actual procedure itself, all follow up appointments are with Dr. Atkinson. I can’t thank Dr. Atkinson’s enough for the referral.

I have been going to Atkinson Eye Care for a few years. I see Dr Bill who always fits me with the correct prescription eyewear. I wear multifocal contacts and progressive lenses. They use upto date technology for testing the health of your eyes. Wonderful staff. Well trained I highly recommend them to trust your eyes.
