I really enjoyed downtown Sports and Wellness. The staff was polite and the club was clean. The club never reopened after closing due to COVID and I was still charged for a full month of membership to cancel my month to month membership even though the club I was paying for closed.

I would’ve given five stars had I not walked in today to find the pool full of screaming unsupervised children splashing about throwing the physical therapy tools everywhere. Some of the members seem to think that the pool is a daycare for their children. Not on my dollar. If it ever happens again I am immediately terminating my membership and withholding all future payment.

The staff is always friendly and helpful and there is always plenty of equipment to go around. Im never waiting. I also love the variety of equipment, including the pool area and racquetball courts and classes. The variety keeps me excited to come back.

Fine gym. A lot of options- my one issue is that it’s always warm. Which is nice when you walk in but means I sweat WAYYYY more than normal when I workout so I’m taking a class or running and I have sweat dripping into my eyes when I don’t usually sweat that much

Downtown Sports and Wellness is a small and friendly club. I have been a member since 1982 since it was Executive Sports Club. It was built underground as a movie theater so its a bit funkier than the more upscale locations. Downtown doesnt have the number of classes as the larger and newer clubs, more like living in a small town. You also are not cheek by jowl with others which is wonderful. . Staff is always willing to help and is accommodating. I have never had a problem with towels and equipment, and if you live and/or work Downtown or in the Near North Valley, the convenience is great.

I would have given 5 stars. The gym should not allow children. Its frustrating to swim with kids who are diving in the small pool and splashing about. I dont have an issue with kids and I know they dont know any better and they just want to have fun. But Im tired of parents dumping their under 14 year old kids at the pool while they work out.

This gym suits my needs to do PT, stretching and swim. I use a power wheelchair and this is truly a wheelchair accessible gym. I could not be happier with the staff and the quality of the amenities.Theres a large wheelchair accessible shower with shower seat and grab bars. Although there is no wheelchair lift at the pool or hot tub, having an incomplete injury I use hands and knees. After my swim or when I get cold (as I cant regulate my body temp), I crawl over to the hot tub which is divided from the pool by a small wall. They have a dry sauna, a wet sauna, theres shampoo, soap and body lotion. The gym has a stretching machine for eight different muscle groups. As I cant do anything else aside from swimming, my review is based solely on the pool. Yes, the Downtown location probably shows its age here and there. But for me its perfect. The attendants are great. I cannot wish for a nicer and more professiona l crew. However, I can see that there has been a lot of personnel changes including managers over the last year and a half. The current manager is fantastic, so hopefully that will adjust issues regarding membership.Give this gym a shot though; where else in Albuquerque would you find a pool, hot tub, wet and dry sauna in one location? They also have a ton of group exercise classes including spinning and yoga, and very motivating trainers, and nice members.

All around Downtown Sports And Wellness is a great gym but the price is what drove me away, however, Giles has been excellent and has gone above and beyond for us, great customer service, the ladies at the front are always great, the gym has everything you need, great pool, my only complaint would be the swimming pool allows kids and it’s a little to small to do water aerobics and having kids screaming splashing and constantly in the way!

Bo (the personal training manager) loaned me his own shirt when I forgot mine so I could work out. He was really nice. He said I had to take a picture with him in exchange for the shirt loan.

Do you like working out in a sweaty cave? Then I have the gym for you! Save yourself - place is a joke and the so called manager George is useless when approached with questions. When you look up small man syndrome in the dictionary his name appears. Find anywhere else to go

This is a great club with a real big city feel. Reminds me of the equinoxs in NYC. The staff is awesome and there is rarely a wait for equipment. This location is very different from there others. This a pure sports club and lacks the country club feel of Del Norte or High Point but is great for that reason.

This establishment is always exceptional. The mens room is slightly dirty at times, but I am a perfectionist, otherwise excellent.
