My daughter injured her wrist in a soccer game. We raced to the Bone and Joint urgent care. We arrived not long before closing. You would never know it though. Everyone was so friendly and pleasant. No one rushed to get us out of there. They took the time to explain what the injury was (hairline fracture) and how it would be treated. Our PA Hope was wonderful! She put my 13 year old daughter at ease through the whole process. Even though she left in a cast my daughter was happy and smiling and in less pain. Huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Hope.

Dr. Dutt was fine with my daughter when we finally got in. Some of the receptionists have been very rude and you can expect to have your appointments cancelled/rescheduled countless times before the doctor actually decides to be there for one. Would be fine, but when you’re working on early hip dysplasia intervention for an infant it’s unacceptable. Have set aside multiple days to go being as it’s over an hour away from us just to be called the day before or day of and have it cancelled.

This place is a JOKE! I live an hour and a half away and drove all the way down to bring my 2 year old to his appointment. When checking in I get told that they had canceled my appointment and NEVER contacted me! So I wasted 3 hours in a car for NOTHING! They should be made to reimburse me for my gas and the money I had to shell out for a babysitter for my other children! Needless to say, I’m not going to be using this place after this. Stay away from these clowns.

I have been trying since May to have blatant mistakes corrected in my last appt with Dr. Lawrence in April. After speaking to his ofc person & going over line by line with her to clearly point out each and every error, I still did not receive a corrected record. After leaving a message with her reminding her it is my legal right to have these corrections recorded, I received a copy of an ofc note that corrected one serious error, but did not correct several others. Actually, she added yet another error to the note that wasnt in the original note.I called your medical records dept to request a form be placed in my file indicating the errors made & my objections & corrections along with my comments describing Dr. Lawrences behavior during my visit. I was told by Medical Records she had no idea if a form actually existed. No effort was made to connect me with someone who might be able to offer additional information. My efforts to have my medical record corrected is my absolute right that so far has been ignored by this practice.

After dealing with wrist issue and going to several other physicians, Urgent Cares, Hospital, being misdiagnosed was advised by primary to go to the Bone and Joint Ctr., so glad I did. I went in late on a Saturday without an appt., I was taken in and met with a young PA, think his name was Kevin, he listened to my long story regarding issue with my wrist, he didnt dismiss me at all like I had been at the other places I had visited previously. He scheduled me to meet with Dr. Marinello, I have to say he is a Golden Asset , he did preliminary test, scheduled me for MRI, shortly after finally an accurate diagnosis was had. On June 1st 2021flexor tensnovectomy was performed. Everyone there, Nurses, Anesthesiologist (TAZ) from Troy.PT underway and hopeful of full recovery. Thanks for being there doing what you do. The place is an assembly line factory. Some receptionists are incredibly rude with patients and will lie and falsify reports. The orthopedists are arrogant and don’t ask pertinent questions. You are treated as a number and a profit vehicle. The people who run the place are purely profit driven. They really show no interest in patients.Communication between doctors and patient is extremely tough. One needs to advocate for themselves hard, that is if the doctor will give you an audience in the first place. The office is the Costco / Walmart of orthopedic care except the employees are not as nice.

I had a terrible experience here. The bottom of my spine was swollen and I was crying in pain in the waiting room for 3 hours. At one point I had asked for an ice pack. They said they didnt have one and so I asked for a tissue and the woman at the front desk said they didnt have any (I later found out they did). When I finally saw the doctor he talked and looked at me for a total of 1 minute and 30 seconds and sent me on my way despite how much pain I was in. Would not recommend going here.

Wow. My husband had a very bad experience. Both his knees are in bad shape, so he tried to get an appointment with Dr. Gerdemann but the assistant was so rude and unhelpful on the phone, that he abandoned. Then he made an appointment with Dr. Alfred as we had friends who had their knees operated on by him. He made an appointment, drove an hour to the Bone and Joint Center, only to be told that he DID NOT have an appointment, because Alfred cancelled his whole day but no one called my husband to tell him this. Even worse, the receptionist then told my husband that Dr. Alfred would not see him because he is a GENERAL ORTHOPEDIST and not a knee specialist???? The Center should revamp and re-train their bookers as we will definitely go elsewhere and never, EVER, recommend this Center to anyone.

Easily the worst experience I’ve had in a long time. The urgent care registration woman, I believe her name was Corrin, was so rude it was unreal. She was nasty to multiple people including telling me “I don’t need your maybe answers, yes or no, it’s that simple”, told a concerned mother “too bad” when she asked for an estimated time to be seen since it’s been a while since they checked in, and even told a man he should go else where. So you get treated like a burden and garbage by registration to then have to wait over an hour to be seen.

I would add less than one star if this allowed. I moved here from NC in June and have been attempting to set up a new Spinal Doctor for 5 months for pain management. I finally got one of the rudest people I have ever talked to (and thats saying something for how we have been treated in this state) to tell me that their practice has nothing to offer me. I have never been talked to the way this woman talked to me and the fact that a pain management center and spinal cord doctor is so above helping a patient is behind my comprehension. I am disgusted by the lack of care this practice must offer and frankly disgusted by the holier than though attitude I was met with from this practice. Just atrocious that you would treat anyone the way you treated me and cant imagine why or how they stay in business unless theyre the only game in town.

She called to request a phone appointment to simply read an MRI that was already completed. “Doctor” Riccio said he doesn’t do phone appointments. We drove the hour the next day to appointment and when we got there Jessica told us that “Doctor” Riccio had car trouble and can’t come in. My mother called three times that morning before making the hour drive to be sure and then “Dr.” can’t take an Uber to work apparently or even pay for AAA road service. I didn’t know people still had “car trouble” these days but it must be difficult calling to cancel appointments from the ski slopes.

Poor service, from appointment scheduling to doctors visit, some people are nice but the majority are overworked which makes them short and uncaring. If you have a minor problem you probably will get taken care of but a major problem is iffy, do your own research if a doctor offers you a treatment plan, because they dont take the time to look into whats best for you but whats best to process you quickly and move on to the next patient. Appointments are very quick due to overbooking, if you keep a doctor longer by asking questions they get agitated, most of them have a tough time also due to being overbooked but hey, dont forget thats why we go there, for help.If you have to go there then so be it but if you can go to a smaller Orthopedic office, I would recommend trying somewhere else, i dont like to leave negative bashing reviews but the truth is the truth.

I have been in chronic back pain for almost a year since a car accident I was in and have been trying relentlessly to figure out the problem. I went to Dr. Shatynski for a new patient appointment and I would give him 0 stars if I could. He continuously cut me off and would not let me speak or explain my own medical history in my OWN appointment. He then went on to scold me and dismiss me about medications I was on prescribed by my PCP. He treated me like a burden and was extremely rude and rushed. I never had the opportunity to ask any questions. He told me to go to physical therapy and come back in 6-8 weeks. When I tried to tell him I already completed several weeks of physical therapy and the physical therapists themselves had to stop seeing me because it was worsening my pain he completely cut me off and then left the room. I will never return to this office. I felt extremely mistreated and misjudged. He had no right to treat me so poorly when all I was searching for was help. I tried several times to speak to a manager in regards to this and sat on hold for over 40 minutes waiting, left messages with no return calls. I would not recommend going here, at least not to see Dr. Shatynski. He treated me like I was just another paycheck and not a person in severe pain begging for help.

My family has been with Bone and Joint for nearly twenty years. Through them, we have met some of the kindest, most well-rounded physicians who have gone above and beyond for us. They are truly phenomenal and we are extremely grateful to them for all they’ve done for us. Until recently, we’d never had an experience with them that was less than stellar. Those who need to make an appointment with Dr. Riccio, PLEASE beware of the fact that Jessica, his secretary, is extremely rude to patients. My grandmother (who is nearly eighty) had an appointment at his office a couple weeks back, and Jessica was so obnoxiously unkind to both my mom and grandmother that my grandmother was literally SHAKING in the office. I find this act of downright disrespect troubling. This woman is a clear and present anomaly in the Bone and Joint family, and I’m genuinely puzzled as to why she’s still with them. While Jessica’s behavior is enough to land any business or office at a pitiful rating of half a star, I still give Bone and Joint 3 stars because they truly do have the most compassionate, brilliant doctors, which somewhat makes up for our poor experience. We’ll take a hard pass on Dr. Riccio’s office until they hire a new secretary (which is unfortunate because he really is a great doctor), but do intend to return to Bone and Joint for treatment from other physicians.

Called asking for a referral for Physical Therapy (my son has ASD so hes pretty clumsy to begin with, not to mention after breaking a leg and it being in a cast for seven weeks) and it was never followed up on. Also my son needed a note from the Doctor stating that he is ok to return to school after breaking his leg several months ago. After receiving a voicemail stating the secretary was unable to send it (because she was using the wrong fax number, which is fine, we all make mistakes) it took me FOUR phone calls of being transferred to the Doctors voicemail when I SPECIFICALLY stated that I wanted to speak to the secretary that was trying to fax the note. (Last time I was on hold for ten minutes and they STILL tried to transfer me to the Doctors voicemail.)Keep your expectations of their secretarial staff super low.

Each time my husband called, the office said they had no record of him.We did this for 10 days. We had to go in person with referral in hand to get an appointment and complained about it to office manager who was dismissive and said we were insulting. Then he kicked us out without an appointment bc we told the truth about what happened which he did NOT care nor see an issue with. the man was not phased by the fact that my husbands back is out, he’s been waiting to see a dr for 10 days and cannot even get his foot in the door bc the office can’t get it together. The fact that it’s 2020 and we had to drive over there to hold their hand to get an appointment is beyond bad business. I had foot surgery back in October of 2018 with Dr. Andrew Rosenbaum. I had a very successful surgery; however, I had well over 45 minutes or more (last visit was over an hour) of wait time for all 3 of my post-surgery visits with him. First, before I get into my complaint, the check-in is absolutely ridiculous. There is a sign at the front of the check-in line to stand at the sign so that you cant hear folks giving out there personal information when speaking with the people at the front desk. Well, if they havent figured it out yet, you can hear EVERYTHING folks are saying - their home addresses, phone numbers, etc., etc. So much for privacy. Anyway, moving along with my original complaint, the nurses (or assistants - not sure what role they hold) would call me into a waiting room, shut the door, and then I would just sit and sit waiting to see the doctor. On all 3 visits, I had to get up and open the door because it would get so uncomfortably warm. These folks think that we patients have nothing better to do but wait to see them. Its ridiculous. They are over-booking appointments and we patients have to deal with it. I have a job, too, and my career is just as important. I have one more appointment coming up in the summer and I am hoping that it is my last.

BY far the worst experience at this place than any other. I would leave less than one star if I could. I had spinal stenosis, drop foot and was in excruciating pain for about a month. I could not sit, stand, lay down, I was on crutches and could not sleep. They did not treat me seriously because I am 20 and prescribed me steroids and muscle relaxers, and no pain management. In those weeks I developed permanent nerve damage because it took them so long to read the MRI. I eventually ended up going to Saratoga spine with Dr.Herzog ( I would save your time going to bone and joint and just go here instead, he is absolutely amazing) and the DAY I went to see him I had nerve testing and scheduled surgery for the next day because of the severity of my condition. After I had already had a lumbar laminectomy and discectomy, B&J finally called to give us the results. This was a horrifying experience for me and I will NEVER go back to this place, and I tell anyone considering going here to never go here either.

Dr. Dipreta has a seriousness about him- and is very professional. He is open about his diagnosis and offers viable options and he works with you to determine which may be best for your situation. He is kind to my other children who are just along for the ride- and sometimes breaks his professional demeanor to interact with them. I appreciate that a lot as a mom.

Went here as a second opinion. Felt comfortable from the moment I entered the office. Staff were really great, and Dr. Gerdeman listened to my concerns and there was no pressure to stay with him or follow his recommendations. We were definitely on the same page as far as my injury and why he was suggesting the treatment he was. I ultimately decided to go with his recommendation over the previous doctor I had been working with. I would highly recommend him to anybody.

My experience with Dr. MORSE and the staff at the Bone and Joint Center has been nothing but excellent.. I have found them to be both professional and kind... Yes, sometimes you have to wait but this is a large practice and I am not the only patient.... They have been wonderful in getting me in quickly when I needed to see Dr. MORSE.. Tracy, his secretary, has a terrific personality and adds a smile to every visit... Based on my personal experience I highly recommend this practice.....

Spent hours waiting..I would call it non-urgent . In fairness, it might have been unusually busy but I dont know. The doctor was good. The check-in and check-out staff were annoyed that I existed. Customer service training would be a good start for these glaring sourpusses.

I am so thankful that I was finally sent to Albany Med after 2 previous emergency rooms looked at my arm. Dr Cory Czajka was fantastic. He repaired my arm and elbow. He was professional, compassionate, and thorough. I never felt like just another patient by any of the staff at Bone and Joint. In my opinion, there is no ace better. Thanks to all of you.

Grateful for getting an appointment for urgent care on the same day I called. From the reception staff, nurse, Nick in x-ray & Kevin giving me a cortisone shot, each one explained what was happening & was very friendly & professional. Dr. Robert Hedderman listened, evaluated my concerns & provided treatment & information about follow up within a half hour of meeting him. Would recommend this practice! Thank you!

Dr Ally is personable and has a commendable way of explaining your medical condition in such a way that you understand all points of your care-without a medical degree! When I leave his office I have a good understanding of what’s expected, both from the practice and myself, on the road to recovery. I would rate his service a 10.

While practice side of the house is great the billing side leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. I was over billed on a visit and when I submitted the claim to my FSA, CDPHP denied the claim because B&Js billing error. To fix this error I had to fight with both CDPHP to get a straight answer and B&J to get my money back. It is not the dollar amount that us the problem it is the careless disregard for fixing the issue.UpdateAfter speaking with the office manager she was able to correct the issue that original billing office was unwilling to fix. I have updated the stars to reflect that. If I could I would rate the practitioner 5 stars and the billing dept 3 stars.

We have not had a good experience here. A wrong diagnosis in January and months later my preschool age daughter is still dealing with pain and swelling in her ankle. We are currently waiting for a prescription from the doctor for physical therapy. I want to make a formal complaint, but it sounds like this business really doesn’t care and nothing would change. Too bad for our injured kids and others suffering from injuries that the doctors and their staff won’t put more effort into providing better patient care.Update: we ended up having to get an MRI done on my daughter’s ankle. She had to go back in a cast for a few weeks. Misdiagnosed by first doctor and the second doctor (pediatric ortho at same office) took the cast off too soon. Her injury happened in January and it took until May to get proper treatment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Their extremely long and obnoxious voicemail system that tells you how great this place is before you get put on extended hold is just the beginning. It takes forever to get an appointment, then they cancel it a day before because the doctor became unavailable (golf?). When I did get an appointment it took over two hours of waiting before seeing a doctor. Most of that time was spent sitting in a hospital gown in a general waiting area with clothed people - talk about uncomfortable.

They have a very disorganized service. There is a large waiting time from the time you check in to the time you see your doctor. Some doctors are usually running late so I would recommend getting an early appointment if possible. The specialist I visited was not very good either. I got a second and third opinion from other specialists and they were both confused as to why the Doctor at Capital Region Orthopaedics decided to target a certain area when the cause of the problem clearly laid somewhere else as evidenced from the MRI. The clerical staff is also not very competent. They consistently told me that they would call me to schedule a follow up appointment or that they would take care of the following steps. Do not believe them, you will have to either push to schedule a follow up before you leave or keep calling them yourself until you can get through and get a follow up appointment. Even trying to put in a suggestion to make their services better is problematic. But it is a large complex and maybe your specialist has a much better team. My specialist did not. Even his nurse agreed with me and asked me to put in a written complaint so that the managing team could take better care of the multiple issues.

Horrible experience. The desk girl was texting her boyfriend while trying to do my intake and messed everything up. I waited 2 hours. She entered my phone number wrong so I never received my follow up calls. After having an MRI done I could not get anyone to call me back to discuss results. I have called daily for the last week trying to schedule and appointment and no one will answer the phone.

First time at the Bone & Joint Center after being referred by my primary care physician because of hip and knee pain.Found everybody polite and efficient and Center seem very busy do not feel rushed at all. Dr. Fuchs seems like a down-to-earth but no-nonsense guy who diagnosed and gave me the news like it is. I like him.The only thing I did not like about my visit was standing in lines to check in and to check out. Most of us are there due to some sort of pains and it is a pain standing and waiting in a line, even when it does move somewhat quickly.

The past three interactions I’ve had with the secretaries in this establishment have been extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. It’s so disappointing that the only quality care is unattainable because of the inability of staff to communicate and coordinate.
