Summery/TL:DR at the bottom.Been with Cap Com for around 10 years. Up until now I have not had any issue with them. Recently their systems have slowed down and their Bill Pay system is buggy and unclear. For most people (Or At least for me) Send Money Should mean that the money is being transferred, Right? Nope that means that the request to send money has been sent to a third party. The third party is not plainly visible on any section of the website. If/when a billpay fails you will not get an alert/notification but they will attempt to withdraw the funds 3 times. ($30 each time if it fails.)Summery/TL:DRPros: Capcom themselves and their employees are helpfulHas Online/Mobile Banking (Not sure if that is a pro or just a basic in this day and age)Cons:Uses third parties without disclosing that plainly and clearly.Third parties use deceptive/unclear languageAlerts can take up to 2+ weeks to come in. (Just got an alert for Aug at time of posting 10/20/21)Phone system is a pain to work with-Having to press 2 every 1:30 min of being on hold when waiting to talk to someone-Static/Hard to hear-Takes around 4-6 min to get even to being on hold-Hold times can be upwards of 10 minSo would I recommend Cap Com as a bank? Yes unless you want to have an online banking experience that is fast, clear and concise.

Been banking with them for ten years. Moved out of the area 2 years ago. Had to switch most of our banking to a more local financial institution. Accidentally paid two bills via EBT recently from the old account and they charged me $210 in overdraft fees and refused to reverse them. We had planned to keep the account, but I guess stealing from their customers via legal extortion is more important than keeping a customer.

I have been banking with Capcom since 1987 when they were only a small office in North Troy near Gardenway. They have always treated me with respect and they have always had my best interests in mind. I Highly recommend Capcom as a financial institution that you can trust for all your personal and business needs.

I was a new member for about a month. Planning to use them to take out a mortgage loan. Just when I was about to start to use them I discovered a hold was placed on my account. Confused I called the number. Turns out they werent satisfied with me using my electricity bill as proof of residency. I remember when I first open the account. I sent them my lease. But that wasnt accepted for reasons. So I sent them my w2 that wasnt accepted. So I sent electricity bill. No one got back to me so I assumed that was accepted it. Turns out it wasnt. Nonetheless the guy on the phone said that my account was all set. But I was still confused as to why no one contacted me before putting my account on hold. There was no warning or communication. If they are like this for proof of residency what are they like for a mortgage. I tried to talk to the guy on the phone. But he actually got upset. Claiming that the issue is resolved just move on and let it go. Never been spoke to by a bank associate like that. So I closed my account. Also I got shamed for having a low balance. I just opened the account and had yet to transfer funds. But none the less made the passing remark. Closed my account. I understand customer service is a tough job. And normally I would let this go. But I was planning on using capcom for a mortgage which is a long process. And I need to be able to have good relations with their members. I need a bank I can trust to communicate to me about an issues that may pop up. Based off of this experience I wouldnt recommend them if you actually plan on using this bank for any kind of financing. But there mobile banking was great.

I have had accounts with Cap Com for more than ten years, my adult daughters also opened accounts with them, and they have consistently been pleasant, helpful, understanding and professional. Ive wondered if their management is harsh and leans heavy on them to always be this way, but they have all assured me that that is just the way they do business. Im happy, theyre happy, so its a win win. Everyone I know who does business with them also feels the same way.

The slowest mortgage operation ever. I have bought and sold over a dozen homes in the past 20 years and I never had to wait more than 9 weeks to close. If you need three months before you move into your new home this is the place for you. They stack closings and buyers with the same law firm and they take their sweet time.

Homeowners advantage is OK. Problem is with cap com not allowing my renters account to transfer funds into mine automatically so now I have to hunt them down to get paid rather then it being automatically transferred. Cap com is not for landlords, I will be switching banks.

Although we moved out of the Albany area over 10 years ago, we have maintained our business with Cap Com because the service is always impeccable. They make everything easy and stress free. Yesterday when I called and needed a payoff faxed to my attorney before the end of the day, Chris kindly assisted me. He needed to put me on hold while another department processed my request, yet checked back in with me so I knew I wasn’t forgotten. It is the kindness and thoughtfulness that Cap Com has always displayed that sets them apart from other credit unions and banks. Their custom service cannot be beat! Thank you for always making potentially stressful situations a breeze!

Ive had CapCom for years and they always come thru for me. ive had 0 bad experiences, everyone is always nice and chill. they dont have hidden crazy fees and charges like other banks ive had in the past. always helpful and making my life easier. i love CapCom so much

So I bought a vehicle not knowing it had a lien on the title and didnt get the lien release from previous owner/auction. So upset that I couldnt register out of state without the lien release receipt. I decided to call CAP COM FCU to see if they can help even though I wasnt a member and they were the lien holder. Spoke to a very nice woman name Tara and it was such a great experience from start to finish. She made all my troubles go away. Told me the car was already paid off and not to worry she will send a release receipt. This credit union rocks. thanks again And thank you TARA

This bank has the worst customer service we have ever seen. We received $60 less than our balance when closing the account, and when we asked why, the teller said he could not check the balance since the account was now closed. We then called to try and straighten out the missing money issue and my wife was verbally attacked by a customer service representative. So we essentially had $60 stolen from us, then verbally abused by someone who should have been trying to help. I strongly recommend taking your banking elsewhere

BEWARE!! Use to love this credit union. 2 years with them now all they do is charge crazy fees. Had 2 $30 dollar courtesy pay fees that was a mistake on there fault and the guy i spoke with on the phone who had no hospitality and no personality claimed that this was a service i signed up for and even tho money was there nothing he can do total bs im done with this credit union!!!

Excellent bank and friendly staff, but please stop training new employees first thing in the mornings. I own a business and have to make it there before 9am(bank branch opens at 8:30am). I cant tell you how many times Ive been late to my business because a new employee is learning the ropes. This morning I arrived at the bank at 8:40am to make two deposits and a withdrawal, I didnt walk out the door until 9:15am and there was no waiting line.

Was very happy with CC for quite awhile, now main branch has tooooooo few tellers working at a time and lines are to be expected. AND to many conversations by the main branch tellers and not enough work. I mostly go in during work breaks and, well you know. Overall with CapCom I am pleased and have almost 0 problems other than above.

If you are a member, get out now. If you are thinking of becoming one, DONT. quite possibly the WORST bank i have ever had to deal with. No one helps, a lot of beating around the bush when you ask questions. Been battling with these people for years to get payments made and its like pulling teeth. finally get payments arranged and then something goes wrong, they say they are calling to get it fixed but they are full of it. been sending payments for almost 2 months now and now out of no where my account has been sent to collections. if you are thinking of moving out of state and still be able to make payments or get any information dont even think about it.

Giving this branch 1 star because the ATM never works, and they never seem to fix it it properly. The machine once froze and kept my debit card inside for 30 minutes! I was late for work because of this.
