My grandmother has been going to summit elderCare for many years, unfortunately, because that is only placeMedicare will pay for. She has come with unexplained bruises and my grandmother can’t speak up for herself and tell us what happened. Today, she came home with an open wound, with no bandage. The wound was not cleaned and she is at risk of getting an infection. She came home with the wound on her arm, no call or explanation once again. Is Summit hiding something? Either way it is neglect and elderly abuse. My grandmother is the sweetest human being and does not deserve this. Summit should be striving to make the last years of elderly lives remembered, worth living, giving them a quality life. Summit insists that my grandmother lays in a bed all day because of a tiny bed sore. That is no quality of life. They should be singing to her, reading to her, interacting with her. Not only do they make it clear they do not care about my grandmother’s happiness or trying to improve her quality of life, but then they send her home with a wound like in the picture below. They should not be in business if they are not going to take care of our elderly family members or fight to give them an end of a life they deserve. Please helpMe fight for my grandmother and her rights. Summit should not get away with the way they treat their patients and needs to be investigated for neglect and elderly abuse.
