My Daughter had recently move near the Wilmington area, and was needing to have 3 wisdom teeth remove. The experience could not have been any better! The team took her in and did an excellent job. If I could rate zero stars I would, my personal procedural experience was nice but I overheard the assistants talking about how terrible the management is at this place and how they want to quit. I also heard a lot of cussing back and forth between the doctor and assistants as jokes but still unprofessional. I don’t feel comfortable in a surgical facility knowing the workers hate their jobs and that sets a bad tone. I wouldn’t go here again.

I was a. Work-in patient on a day they already had a full schedule. They got me in within An hour and everyone from the front desk, the nurse, and Dr. Booth were so pleasant and made sure I was taken care of.The Wilmington office is very comfortable and up to date. I have also been to the office in whiteville, but it was great to have an office here in Wilmington. Wonderful experience! Very aware and taking precautions for covid! The staff I met were delightful and explained everything to me which is always great!! I can’t say much for the procedure as I was put under, but that was effortless and fast. The whole procedure of removing 3 wisdom teeth was only about 30 minutes so that’s awesome! Felt shorter for me but my ride was equally surprised! Really appreciate all the work done today and look forward to a speedy recovery:)

Dr. Bufalini extracted my wisdom teeth yesterday afternoon and I felt no pain whatsoever by 8pm that evening. I was told I would have some soreness for up to a week but, Dr. Bufalini did such an excellent job that my soreness was completely gone by the next day! Thank you SO much Dr. Bufalini!!!

My son was in need of (4) Wisdom Teeth extractions before we sent him off to Boone for college. He was originally referred to a practice outside of our dental healthcare network & the out of pocket cost was astronomical. I contacted numerous other practices within our network & they were unable to schedule surgery prior to him reporting to school.I then made contact with Mrs. “T” at Carolinas Oral & Facial Surgery. She went above and beyond to answer all my questions & was able to get my son scheduled for surgery long before he was due to report to Appalachian State University in August. Not only did she arrange the surgery but, when I ran into trouble getting X-rays and records transferred from the original practice to Carolinas Oral & Facial Surgery, she stepped in and handled the situation with positive results. Not to mention, she went out of her way to introduce herself on the day of surgery & see if we had any additional questions. She is a total professional & truly cares about the patients coming into the practice.My son was totally at ease with Dr. Buffalini’s bedside manner and the whole surgical experience. It has been four days since surgery and my son has not had any complications.Truly a wonderful experience!!! Highly recommend!!!

I have been there a few times. Excellent in all categories. If you fear the procedure, or the pain of it, opt for sedation. Its incredible to sleep through to the end and not feel a thing. Thats perfect in my book!!!

Dr. Booth and his nurse were incredible. I have super high anxiety with any dental work and, while that didnt just go away, they made sure I was comfortable, explained everything, checked on me later, and I have minimal pain. I will also add that you could tell from interactions with his staff that he is well liked. Pleasant experience for a double, non-sedated, tooth extraction.

I showed up here for an appointment that I scheduled over a month ago. I was early and ended up waiting outside for over an hour. At the 40 minute mark I asked how much longer and they said they were “cleaning some rooms” and it wouldn’t be much longer. 40 minutes later I told them that I had to leave. Any establishment that is going to make someone wait that long for an appointment is *inconsiderate* *disrespectful* and obviously *unorganized*.When I showed up there were 4 other people waiting, 2 of which were filling out paperwork and obviously just arrived, which makes me wonder how many other people they scheduled appointments with in my time slot. While I waited 2 other people were called in. I saw 1 person leave. I also saw about 6-10 different nurses just standing/sitting around in the office each time I went inside.The lobby is closed and their process of keeping people outside is extremely inconsiderate as well. Seems to me they’d rather just not have to clean the lobby anymore so they make everyone wait outside.I kindly asked for my new patient paperwork back and lefts.

The staff were great. Super friendly and explaining everything.The procedure only took 5 minutes. The only criticism is the amount of paperwork was crazy copies of card and still had to fill out all that information again.

I put this surgery off for years because I was so afraid to have a bad experience or end up like those YouTube videos of people going nuts after getting their wisdom teeth taken out. I honestly remember nothing, I woke up at home and my husband had all the instructions. Its been 4 days and I have experienced zero side effects except for the expected pain. Firstly, I felt very safe being met outside by a rep with a thermometer.I had a tooth pulled so I needed injections for numbing. I felt no pain during the injection or extraction. I especially liked the rubber spacer placed between my teeth on the non surgical side. I was able to bite down hard during pressure but keep my mouth open. It helped.I was well informed of the procedure beforehand and provided with aftercare advise as well as a follow up call the next day inquiring of my condition.Overall a pleasant experience given the task at hand.Cristina

The nurses were kinda rude but thats fine. i went in to get my tooth pulled and the dentist tried to pull it when it wasnt that numb yet and told me to tell him if i could feel anything and i was screaming saying it hurt and he kept doing it for a couple more seconds which made me freak out obviously but i am terrified of needles and the dentist so i asked for the laughing gas because that usually helps but it honestly didnt do anything it felt like i was just inhaling oxygen so it was a waste of extra 100$. not to mention after my tooth was out the dentist took some tool and digged in the hole to “get out gum tissue” which i understand but i was literally in tears and he did it very mean. if you dont do well with the dentist or anything like me ask to be put to sleep for the procedure or go somewhere else where they are nice.

Had to wait 45 minutes past my appt time in the parking lot so that I could have a 15 minute referral where the oral surgeon cut me off in the middle of my questions and just seemed not to really care.

The ladies answering the phones here could not possibly care less about your dental emergency, and have no problem making that very obvious while talking to you.

So I was referred to Carolinas Oral & Facial Surgery Center in Wilmington from my dentist.. I had a brown spot on the bottom of my inside gum that he wanted to have checked out.. Dr Booth examined me and said I needed to remove the spot..billing advised me that the procedure would be covered under my insurance and all I would have to pay is my copay.. I said great.. I had the procedure done, the results of my brown spot.. an amalgam tattoo (a spot caused by silver fillings). Seriously what professional dentist/doctor doesn’t know that immediately upon seeing that..so my insurance company didn’t cover it and I’m responsible for the procedure.. $400..I feel as though I was duped.. had I known it was a tattoo I would of left it..I will never go back!!!! If I could give zero stars I would...

Before going in for my wisdom teeth extraction, I was really nervous because of all the horror stories other people had told me about their experience getting them removed. However, I was fortunate enough to experience NONE of that. The staff were great, really friendly, they worked quickly and efficiently, and the whole surgery only took about an hour. Recovering over the weekend was a breeze as they explained exactly what to do and gave me a helpful brochure to read in case I forgot. Im at work 3 days later with almost no pain and feeling good. I had two teeth extracted yesterday afternoon under sedation. I was extremely nervous and, while sitting in the waiting room, a huge storm resulted in a power failure - you know, like waiting to be put to sleep for an extraction isnt enough excitement, right? The staff was amazing and handled it all without missing a beat. The back up generator kicked in and everything ran smoothly. Kim (dental assistant) took fantastic care to address my fears and concerns. Dr. Booth was exceptional and took a great deal of time explaining what was going to happen and that all would be well. He also had a keen sense of humor. I cant say enough great things about my experience. Everything unfolded exactly as they said it would. I wouldnt hesitate to have any procedure done by this practice and I certainly wouldnt be nearly as nervous as I was yesterday. It was an all-around positive experience, minimal post-op pain and I was treated with kindness and compassion. I HIGHLY recommend this practice.

Dr Booth removed all four of my wisdom teeth, everything went well. The staff walked me to my car with no irrigation syringe. Was told just not to swish my mouth for 48 hours. I went in 3 days later because I got an infection (no antibiotics or irrigation syringe) I was treated by Dr Buffalini and got put on antibiotics and he told me I should have been irrigating it and gave me one. I finished the treatment but still have lingering pain and redness on the side that is infected and called to set another follow up with Dr Buffalini but the secretary was set on setting an appointment with Dr booth and I told her I didn’t want to see him since I felt he just ripped my teeth out and didn’t care to hand me a syringe to irrigate with or care to put me on antibiotics. The SECRETARY Rhonda acted out of her wage tried giving medical advice and tried speaking for the doctor saying “most patients are so irresponsible and don’t follow instructions and clean too soon and get “dry socket” (so I guess she’s saying he’d rather I get an infection instead of dry socket which is self healing?) and to state her opinion on ALL patients...then after I reminded her to act her wage she tried setting an appointment wayyy out in the week, mind you I have a lot of pain still. I would not want to speak to her again.

Dr. Booth and his team did a phenomenal job with my implant. I would highly recommend him. I cracked one of my teeth with a crown and needed my tooth extracted and a dental implant. My dentist referred me to his office and I am so glad that I was able to work with him and his awesome assistant Sarah. I was nervous and had a list of questions and they were very thorough in their answers. They went through everything in the initial consultation including an itemized list of costs at the end so that there were no surprises. I had insurance that is picking up a small portion and I felt the remainder of the cost was reasonable. The day of the surgery they talked to me the whole time, letting me know each step which was comforting. I had no pain, which was my biggest concern. Im now just treating the area very carefully as it fully heals. I also appreciate that they use the latest technology for everything and show you your scans on the monitors in front of you. The office is new and very clean. At the end they had a small care package with a list of care instructions which made things simple and easy to follow. My experience exceeded my expectations! Thank you Dr. Booth, Sarah, and the kind office staff that I spoke with.

They were able to get me in fast. Once they did the nerve blocker and gas, they had my 2 wisdom teeth out in about 10 minutes. After care wasnt explained too much, but they gave me a pamphlet that told me everything I needed to know, pretty simple and easy!

My first appointment with them and it went well. In and out pretty quick. Very friendly staff. Doctor was great. I only wish I had written instructions that were specific to me. They gave my daughter verbal instructions but once she dropped me off at my house, that was it. I have a temporary partial until my implants and didn’t know to NOT take them out. She failed to tell me this. No damage done but would have liked written instructions to read up on once I was coherent. Maybe just an oversight but a follow up call would have been nice.

I was absolutely terrified to have all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. But everybody in this wonderful place didn’t amazing job . It was not even half as bad as I thought it would be . They even called the next day to make sure I was feeling all right. The surgeon who took my wisdom teeth out did such a wonderful job that I did not even need stitches, being that all four wisdom teeth were impacted I think that’s unbelievable . This is the only place in North Carolina that I would recommend anyone to go to.

I had an amazing experience with them. They had pulled a tooth back 2012 for me, and did great. I recently got my wisdom teeth removed through them. And they did such a great job of making me feel comfortable! I am healing just fine and it has only been 5 days! I recommend them to everyone.

I’ve had oral surgery here two separate times for my wisdom teeth and had no complications either time. My doctor and the staff were friendly and easy to talk to. I was at least 30 minutes early to my last appointment and they got me in right away, I barely had to wait at all and I was expecting to wait until my actual appointment time. Overall really good place.

I have had a referal to this office since 4/24/19 to have 3 teeth extracted. Three teeth that habe been causing me pain for a year. Ive tried to make an appointment several times only to be told their booked full, arent taking new patients(,ive had surgery there multiple times) or just cant get anyone on the phone when im told to call back. They are the only surgeon in the area who does sedation & takes my insurance so they have left me screwed fighting pain & infections for over a year now. It seems like they dont care about their patients well being anymore as Ive had great experiences with them years ago.

I was in for a wisdom tooth removal. I chose to go the route of nitrous oxide and nerve block because sedation horrifies me. They were totally ok with this. I got in and started on the nitrous, surgery got under way about 30 min later, and within 20 minutes my teeth were out and stitches were in. Now, you wonder why Im at 3 stars. First of all, they dont include the risk form in the consultation. Its something youre given to sign RIGHT before your surgery which seems sort of rushed. Next, I didnt even get to see my extracted teeth let alone keep them (like everyone else in my family since I was 13 years old). Its a cute traditional in my parents house for the tooth fairy to bring something cool for the adults when their wisdom teeth come out and I did the same for my husband when his came out about a year ago. These are the biggest teeth that will ever be in my mouth and they just whisked them away and quotes OSHA. This is NOT a law that I can find anywhere... Ive been looking. So either they intentionally lie about laws or no one has ever though to actually check which makes them seem inept.Overall, skilled oral surgeon and an office that just knows how to quote policy.

My wife had an appointment for 10am. She couldn’t eat or drink anything from the night prior in preparation for surgery. We arrive at 9:45am. By 11:00am we are still sitting there with no explanation. Another woman in the waiting room tells us her daughter had an appointment at 8am but wasn’t seen until 9:45am. On top of the blatant disregard for people’s time, the front desk clerk had the nerve to ask for our $1400 payment up front (so as to save her time later). My wife and I took off work for this. Our time is money and when you disrespect our time it’s like a slap in the face (before demanding payment).We left and found another surgeons office. These doctors offices continue to treat people like cattle as long as we let them. My advice, find a doctors office who respects your time and respects you as a person. This place did neither for me and my wife.

I THOUGHT I was in good hands. Why they are $100 more per extraction than other oral surgeons? Why would you have to WAIT for an extraction, until the office is closed, to be able to accept your insurance? I dont know either, so I started calling others. I HIGHLY suggest you do your research 1st!

Very professional and nice employees. They all went out their way to make sure everything went well. Definitely will go back there if ever needing more work done!!!

Can not recommend this place enough. Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Bufalini. They were able to fit me in on short notice. The office is very nice. Dr. Bufalini did a great job explaining the procedure and all of the possible risks. The surgery went well and I have had a very smooth recovery with only minor swelling and discomfort. Carolina oral and facial surgery much exceeded my expectations!

Worst experience I have ever had anywhere! My granddaughter was referred there for a tooth abscess from her dentist of 6 yrs. we waited 1 month to get the appointment. went at time we were given. I filled out papers, gave insurance card and we sat waiting for an hour. Then the desk clerk called me to the counter and told me because I am the guardian/grandmother who has been raising her and her sisters since their mothers death I had to prove I was guardian for the consultation.. she said she had called the dentist and they confirmed over the phone who I was but that they could not at that moment fax the legal documents. The desk clerk said without seeing it they would not see the child.. she then even said she had called the pediatrician listed on the insurance card and they told her they could fax the documents but didnt know when. . I asked if she was telling us to leave and she said yes. they could not see a 9 yr old child for the consultation without proof I was guardian. 2 dr offices gave her my name as guardian and that wasnt enough for the consultation? we were sent out and my grandchild has yet to get the care her dentist referred her for. The woman asked if I wanted to reschedule.!!! I have 3 children to work around schedules , had gotten this child out of school early. baby sitters for her sisters , waited a month just to get the appointment and an hour in the waiting room just to be told to leave.. This person was very rude and disrespectful.. I would now never give them our business. I will certainly take myself and my three girls to someone who cares more about their patients.
