I am a patient that gets deep root cleanings and scaling for many years before stepping into Dr. Wolskes office. I would dread going to the dentist. My first visit I was surprised how well my visit went. My first cleaning I left happy with how gentle the dental hygienist was. I also left with a plan from Dr. Wolske to improve my dental care for the future. Everyone was wonderful that visit and every visit since. Unlike other dentists I did not end up with an extraordinary bill. I was also told by another dentist I needed to have work done that Dr. Wolske told me was 100% unnecessary. Now my whole family goes to Dr. Wolske!

My husband and I have been going to Port City Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for years and love it! The staff is fantastic… so friendly and professional. I also love that I’m in and out in no time! Port City Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is the best dentist office I have ever been to. The high level of service and attention to detail is unmatched in my experience . Hannah, the dental hygienist who usually provides cleanings for me, has always been very friendly, very knowledgeable and does a great job every time. In addition Dr. Wolske is easy to work with and has always made me feel comfortable and informed about decisions Ive made about my teeth. To top it off the office is very clean, has top of the line equipment and is decorated very nicely. I would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone in the Wilmington area, you will be pleasantly surprised how well youre treated.

The staff is really nice, but I had a terrible experience with Dr. Wolske. I was told I needed a crown and some fillings by their fill-in dentist. When I got to my appointment for the work to be done, I had never met Dr Wolske yet. She was pretty short and not friendly and just told me what I was having done. Then during the procedure she didn’t tell me anything she was doing. She put tools in my mouth without warning or anything. She barely acknowledged my existence and just chatted with the assistant the entire time. She also dropped tools a few times which I understand can happen but it was a few times and with her rude manner it just made things worse. Finally I’m so unhappy with my crown. It looks really bad and nothing like my tooth before. On top of that I’m still having pain, I don’t even think they fixed the real problem. I really loved the staff but unfortunately not the dentist and I will not be going back ever again because it was a really bad experience.

Went to an emergency dentist appt because my fiance had a tooth that was broken. On the phone, Danny (I believe was the dark haired ladys name) was nice and she helped us schedule the appt as soon as possible. Upon arriving, Danny took our information in a friendly, pleasant way. The other lady, Shelly was older with blonde hair. She was short spoken and made the visit a rather unpleasant one. Upon speaking with my fiance about how she was paying for the visit, Shelly was not friendly at all. When I walked to the back to be with my fiance during the procedure, I mentioned Shelly to her and she also said you read my mind, that lady is hateful. The dentist, Dr. Barris she was amazing and made the procedure easy and comfortable for both of us. She was talkative and knowledgeable when we had questions. We were in and out in less than an hour, and this appointment was scheduled at the last minute, less than 4 days ago. If it werent for the receptionist, and her having a spiteful attitude I would rate this dentist at a perfect 5. However the receptionist is the first person you see, and the first person you contact over the phone! She is extremely important to this type of business. Without that, it doesnt matter how good you are at your job.

Dr. Barras and her team make your dentist experience great from the moment you walk in the door. It had been many years since I had been due to high anxiety and Dr. Barras eased my worries and was extremely patient with all of my questions and concerns. Shelly, the Office Manager, is also extremely polite and willing to work with you on large bills. I was able to pay for some expensive work in a manner that was best for me. Dont have insurance? No worries because they also have a great deal to make sure you still get affordable teeth cleanings and dental care. Overall, this practice makes any fears of costs or general anxiety wash away with their friendliness, kindness, and patience. I highly recommend Port City Family Dentistry!

Great care and treatment. I love their dental hygienist! Note: they don’t have a person who can do Spanish translation and that’s why I gave 4/5 stars. Other then that they are a great place to go to!

Dr. Barras is amazing. I have been seeing her for two years now. A year ago she re-applied all my sealants that were last applied when I was a kid. Beautiful new office, state of the art equipment. She also takes many forms of insurance including tri-care.

I can’t say enough good things about this office. Friendly, efficient, very very helpful. They don’t make you wait or stress you when you are in pain. They get you in, fix your issues, and take wonderful care of you. 5 bonus stars!!!On another note, I’ve never seen a more trendy office. It looks like a living room out of a magazine. Beautiful, comfortable, stylish.

Dr. Barras is fantastic. She takes care of my entire family. Shes amazing with my 3 year old son and takes such incredible care of my parents who now live out of state that they travel 12 hours just to see her. Before she met Dr. Barras, my mother hadnt been to a dentist in almost a decade because of anxiety and previous bad experiences. But she was able to get her fillings and crowns without a problem from Dr. Barras. My dad got a much needed bridge and his smile has been transformed. The best part about Dr. Barras is that you can trust her. She has only ever acted in my familys best interests. No extras charges or salesmanship. She just tries to give you what you need and only what you need. Every procedure she has performed has been with done with professionalism and complete expertise. I highly recommend her!

My main goal when I visit my dentist is to be healthy.This location goes way far than my basic goal.After my appointment I felt relax , happy and with a true smile ear to ear.Thank you Dr Barras and your staff to have an excellent services for us ( your patients).

Place is very professional and very friendly. Dr Barras is incredibly efficient, succinct, and easy to work with. Hannah is an exemplary hygienist. Easy to work with... this is my favorite dental office in the county.

The team is always so friendly and on time. In the 4 visits we have had, we have always had a minimal wait time and the kids are in and out. Dr. Barras and her dental hygienists are knowledgable, efficient, and organized. We will be patients for life!

My child was in need for assistance and she had no heart. Shes cold and judgmental and I cant look at her.

I called Dr. Barras office Monday before Thanksgiving because I had pain in my jaw and couldnt open my mouth very wide. The office staff offered me a same day appointment and Dr. Barras explained about the cause of TMJ pain, gave me a prescription and offered to make a night guard. I felt relief within a few days and was able to eat Thanksgiving dinner. The combination night guard and medicine has made my jaw pain all but vanish. I highly recommend Dr. Barras for her excellent knowledge and genuine care.

I had the best experience with Dr. Barras and Ashley! I had to have my two front teeth fixed after I broke them in an accident. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Barras and her staff for their amazing kindness. I actually cried when I saw my new smile. I highly recommend this office for all your dental needs!!

Check the bills very carefully, unfortunately money appears to take priority over the care of their patients. I had several treatments done and each time I had to wait long periods of time for the dentist to arrive and for my follow up treatments on each occasion the assistant was not knowledgeable/trained correctly and on occasions the dentist would completely take over trying to do the suction as well as treatment on crown and my fillings telling the assistant to step away.If you have a treatment and it is billed incorrectly expect the owner to demand the extra money regardless of whether the treatment was done or not.This is not a customer focussed business with money taking priority as demanded by the owner.

Dr.Barras was kind of rude and gave attitude, seemed super annoyed the whole time.so to start I had a broken molar. Asked me to bite to see if it felt normal .. took over 4x and she was obviously irritated about it. Talked over me the entire time ( bad bedside manner) raised her voice at me. Then before I set up the appointment I asked if they take my insurance ( I had just gotten married they said they saw my name on my husbands insurance) about a week later they said they couldn’t find it and we realized you have to enroll in dental separately. We said we pay out of pocket the $400. They said they’d do payments. Paid $100 each week . 3rd week they said they were going to put it in collection if we didn’t finish paying it. We only had $100 left so we obviously paid it.. a month later my filling broke and I went somewhere else told this story gave me a discount because word on the street is Jillian is rude to a lot of people

This was the first I have been to the dentist in over (at least) 4 years. I was nervous about getting my teeth cleaned and the talk I would have with the dentist about some repairs I would need. Needless to say, they made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in and the entire time. The dental hygienist was so kind and gentle and easy going. Dr. Barras was the same and very forth coming on her thoughts about what would be the best for me and my repairs. I would HIGHLY recommend this office. EXCELLENT staff and clean environment. I felt completely comfortable there. Thank you for a wonderful visit! I look forward to my next appointment!

This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I have PTSD and they are very accommodating and empathetic. Dr Barras is very calm and kind. I feel empowered because my hygienist Meghan doesn’t tell me to open my mouth, instead waiting for me to open it before she starts doing anything. This may seem silly, but it’s a giant leap away from any other dentist I’ve ever had. And my teeth are very happy, too!

Theft is the only way I can describe the business dealing of this practise. I have been having periodontal cleanings for 12 + years so am very familiar with how they are performed. In June I met with a new hire hygienist who cleaned my teeth using a pick which is not how periodontal cleanings are done. I questioned her and she assured me she could do a good enough job this way. I then received a bill for a perio cleaning which I questioned. At my next appointment I met with a different hygienist who remarked that I had more bleeding and swelling than usual and she conceded that it was possibly due to not having a periodontal cleaning the previous time. When I again questioned the June treatments I was told by Dr Barras via her assistant that I had in fact had perio charting and a maintenance completed. SHE WASNT EVEN IN THE ROOM! How the heck can this woman possibly be able to defend a member of staff based on a computer report when I was actually there and having had a number of these cleanings both at her practise and in my previous home state, I am well aware what these cleaning entail. I have paid the bill because unlike these people Im honest but have cancelled all future appointments. What business choses to take such a short term view and loses not one but two clients for the next 15 years? Oh thats right a dishonest one that doesnt want relationships but will just pounce on the next unsuspecting person

It was my first visit for exam and cleaning. I seen hygienist Hannah and Dr Jillian Barras. This dentist had great reviews and my first experience there was great as well. Hannah and Dr Barras were very polite and professional as well the secretarial staff. The waiting area is extremely inviting and we’ll layed out. I do miss the Keureg coffee/tea machine that most other dentist offices offer.

The staff was so kind and friendly! I hadnt been to the dentist in 5 years (because who doesnt hate going to the dentist) and they didnt make me feel bad about it at all. Would definitely recommend them. The office and esthetics are very nice as well if thats important to you!

I have gone to Dr. Barras for many years and have received excellent care. Her office is very relaxing and calming, staff is professional and I have always gotten an appointment when I needed one. I highly recommend her.

Initially I was happy with everything. I am still with the crowns. But the simple fillings failed. First in my lower right pre molar and second in a filled molar(same side). I paid over $8,000 dollars for this work combined, but I couldn’t even bare to go to the recommended oral surgeon, because I’m scarred it will be the same. I fixed my right teeth, but can’t use them because a second filling failed, and hurts. She repaired the first one, no charge, and it seems to be holding up. The rear molar, a piece of the repair fell off and I removed with floss a couple months ago. I have fillings from Dr Howdan in chapel hill (my childhood) that are still standing ( im 30). And yet she can’t make it 6 months without failure?

Very professional staff, who do their best to ensure you are well taken care of. This is possibly the most hi-tech dentist that I have been to. If you don’t have a dentist I recommend trying these guys.

Hannah is a great hygienist who takes her time and doesnt needlessly hurt you. I also had to have a filling by Dr. Barras and it was easily the best experience I have had. Great Job
