Twenty years loyal customer. They treated my Lab Serena for lung cancer and gave her nine extra months of life. Always caring and attentive, they find solutions and take action fast. Now two more dogs are under their cate. I’d be lost without this wonderful clinic and their loving vets and staff.

We boarded our dog here while we went on vacation. Paid extra so she could be outside longer and have extra treats. Came to pick her up and she was covered with urine. So bad that her white fur was yellow brown. I pointed it out to the staff and they said she had a accident in her kennel. Well our dog is house trained and can go 10+ hrs without a problem. Makes me wonder if they ever let them out of the kennels. Or get the treats I paid 45 dollars for.

Our dog was sick, and we took her to the nearest clinic which happened to be this one. They helped our dog, but we will not be returning. We had an agreed upon payment, and when I came to pay it, they wanted to charge me $300 more than what we were told on the phone. I told them I would pay the amount we’d agreed upon. They then refused to give us our dog. During the day, my wife had to call them three times to ask about updates on our dog, and they never mentioned the up charge or initiated the communication. We will not be returning.

I am a previous employee here. There is a lot about this place that people do not know about besides the employees themselves. The kennels for boarding: inside the boarding kennel room is complete concrete floors along with very little windows in the room itself to let in natural light. The dogs get left in the dark 90% of the time. In the kennels themselves there is concrete floor for your dog to lay on. The only “bed” your dog gets to lay on is a metal rack on the floor that is made of STEEL. After the kennel is cleaned it is not properly dried completely to where there is no water left what so ever, so your dog is laying on a cold, hard, wet, metal and concrete floor. The dogs in boarding only get let outside max two times a day and only get fed two times a day. The dog yard for boarding and daycare dogs do not have any grass or even Astro turf. The yards have nothing but gravel rocks and dirt.Day care: Daycare is alright but some of the practices is unethical. Like for instance “doggy nap time.” The dogs are placed in a kennel for two hours without being let out to go pee or poop. They whine and cry to be let out. Their cries are ignored. The clinic closes for lunch so I can understand with the dogs being in the kennel for an hour but should be no longer than that if a person is at the clinic. The kennels stress a lot of the dogs out. There isn’t a big variety of toys for the dogs to play with either. Just Kong balls and Little Tykes play slides for toddlers.Veterinary practices: The vets at this clinic are unprofessional and will push you to make a decision on what to do with your animal. They are not precise about certain things like finding a vein to inject fluids or making your animal comfortable after it endured something horrific. They vets will NOT let you stay with your pet if your pet is dying or in a large amount of pain.Prices: prices are ridiculously expensive for how the animals are treated and for how professional this clinic is. They WILL take your money. Be prepared to be broke if you come here. They don’t care about their animals or their welfare they just care about making money.Training: I’ve never had any of my dogs trained at this clinic but the trainers do not seem qualified or know what they are doing exactly.Cleaning: the clinic is very sanitary. I perhaps though think the clinic is too sanitary as they clean your pets bowl with BLEACH. WHICH CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR PET IF NOT USED PROPERLY. THEY DO NOT USE THIS BLEACH METHOD PROPERLY.This clinic has unethical, unprofessional, malpractices. Do not come here unless you want your dog mentally abused or euthanized for no reason just so they can take $400-$1000 out of your pocket.

I took my dog in yesterday for an exam because she was sick. Dr. Sent her home said she was fine billed me 127 my dog was worse this morning so took her back in to find out she has parvo was told treatment would be 1500 so took her to elpaso was billed 360 by companion for another exam that should have been caught yesterday. I wouldnt take another animal there to even be put down. This place is all about taking your money. If I could give a - rating I would. This place charged me 127 the first day and then 358 the next day elpaso charged me 738 for 4 days and complete treatment. Its not hard to see this place is only about getting cash.

Thank you to the staff at Companion Animal Hospital for the awesome attention we received during our last visit. Val was very accommodating and friendly while scheduling our appointment. The care we received was also above and beyond. Until you experience their low stress philosophy in action, you wont understand it. They use treats, pheromone diffusers and their staff members are trained in handling techniques. The animal is hardly aware they are at a vet clinic! We love this idea - check them out.

The staff at Companion Animal Hospital has been a blessing to me. They accommodate my busy schedule and are open on Saturdays. I have used their daycare a few times while my dog was boarding and feel better knowing he was able to get out and socialize during his stay. They also have a groomer so I had my dog groomed before I picked him up and he was fresh and clean.I recommend Companion Animal Hospital for all of their services.

My dog hates the vet and is a load at 85 lbs. They have always been patient with her and she still dislikes the Vet, but is much better now. They take their time with her and have gained her trust. They always remind me when she is about due for shots, so I have plenty of time to fit it in my schedule. The staff has learned what my dog likes and they do a great job with her. This is the worst place you can take a poor animal! I took my dogs there for daycare and training. They were learning nothing and the trainer always had an excuse like they were unruly or wouldnt obey (Uh, thats why they are there, duh!). But yesterday another dog challenged one of mine and bit him in the snout. They told me there was a fight but neglected to tell me my dog was bit. When I got home I fed my dogs and they took a nap. When they woke up I noticed that one had a raised/swollen spot on his snout. I looked closer and there was blood and a hole. Then my other dog started acting very peculiar. He seemed to be scared out of his wits. When I would open the back door for them to go out to potty and play, he cowered in the corner of the room and refused to go out...even for a treat! So now I have one dog healing from an attack and another who is afraid of his shadow and has never acted like this before. I talked to the vet (cant remember her name darnit) who came on the phone in a loud and commanding voice as to try to intimidate me (no luck there) and she said my dog was the aggressor in the fight. She also said we were ONE visit past the refund policy, which by the way, was never given to me, and she would not make a one time exception. I think with all that happened she should have given me my money back. I only wanted a prorated portion, which at this point only looks like about half. I think thats fair. She wanted to do more training with my dogs but I am not comfortable with them going there. I am also starting a new job and cannot take time off work to go with them. She was totally uninterested in my plight. NEVER take your pet to this place!!

We love Companion Animal Hospital! Ive had dogs all my life and this is the only place where we feel like family. We took advantage of the dog training course offered by the clinic & we use the groomer. The best thing about Companion is our little Sheltie loves to go see Dr. Tammy! The low stress environment is just what she needs. Valeri M. at the front desk is great about thoroughly explaining all procedures, costs and follow ups. I would highly recommend Companion for your fur-babies of all sizes!

Because I had to give a one star to post this I did!!! Animal lovers, BEWARE!!!If you have a dog that isn’t seriously ill they are probably ok. If you have a Dog like mine which had Parvo when I purchased him please pay attention to the care they give to your animal! On Sunday DR Trusdale left me a message in the morning telling me when she comes back in Sunday evening she will call me back! She never called me back.My animal was in her care for a week I only talked to the vet one time!I followed my gut went back in Monday morning to take my Puppy back to the Emergency Hospital! He was in bad shape!I am hoping the emergency animal hospital will save my Dogs life! He had to receive a blood transfusion when he got back to the hospital! Nobody at the animal companion told me how bad he really was!!!!Won’t go back, won’t recommend it!In my opinion they have one person that cares and that was Sonya one of the techs!I bought the Puppy, it was no longer Petlands Puppy!!!! I should have been notified if MY Puppy needed to go back to the Emergency Hospital, not Petland!!!!! Shame on you!!And to say MY Puppy was not in pain!! Please show me in the text where it states Parvo isn’t painful!!! When I picked the poor guy up and took him back to the emergency hospital he was in horrible pain, I could not even touch his tummy!! I did some research on Parvo.. A document that I had read described Parvo, ( It’s like taking their intestines and putting them through a paper shredder)... It’s your responsibility as a licensed Veterinarian to communicate with the Owner, not Petland!!!That’s the humane thing to do!! If you knew he needed further help I should have been notified..............................

If i could give them 0 stars, i would. I brought my 9 week old pomeranian to the vet and they provided zero communication, abysmal customer service (especially the lady at the front desk), and they claimed that my puppy which I purchased at Petland was completely healthy without even checking for Parvo. Keep in mind, during the first visit I informed the vets that my puppy has continually had zero appetite, constant diahrea, and vomitting issues. WARNING: Companion Animal Hospital does not care about your pet, nor do they care about you. They only care about profitability. Such a shame..

I have taken my dogs to Companion Animal Hospital since 2008. I am very happy with the relationship I have built with the staff here in Maize. They take very good care of my dogs, as if i were taking one of my four boys to the pediatrician. My favorite part about CAH, Dr. Davis always calls to check on which ever dog she has cared for. If you should live close to Maize or are looking for a different Vet, I highly recomend Dr. Shauna Davis :) She Cares :)One thing I might mention, when I call & Beth is not in. So, I ask to leave a message for Dr. Davis to call when she has time. I dont mind letting the staff know what its in regards to, but I do not need to be quizzed or any attempt to TRY to answer my question. I am very funny about talking to the Doc.Thank you again for all you have done for our family members & such a great relationship we have built. I look forward to many more in the future :)Tango & Cashs mommy

We have used Companion for about 14 years now. Every time we visit someone has called us to tell us what our options are prior to treatment. One Tuesday 03/25/2014 we took our 12 year old cat in who had been peeing all over the house and stopped eating all together. No one had called us and so we called that afternoon to check on him. The girl on the phone could not give any info, except that they had to sedate him to get him out of his kennel and would give him an IV. They would keep him overnight for observation. The next day we called and they told us that he had Kidney and liver failure (Dr. Lindsey)... That the bill was around $1000.00 at which point we asked? How is it that you have only had this cat overnight and just done a IV and the bill is $1000.00 and we have received not calls informing us of options. This time the girl on the phone asked us what we wanted to do and we informed her we wanted to stop his suffering. Later that day Dr. Byers informed us that he didnt believe that the previous diagnosis was accurate. He believed that the cat had an infection and would just need a special diet. However If we choose to have him put down, We needed to come in and sign a form and we did. There would be a $70.00 Fee. When we came in the girl had the form ready and it was signed. Later we received a call from the Vet asking why we had not paid our bill? To which we replied with all of the info above. As well as the fact the our mother was in the hospital and it was not even that much for her for one night. We were then told that nothing would be done with our cat until the bill had been satisfied. Keep in mind we have went to this vet for 14 years and never had an issue with billing. This was a SHOCK>>>>> We are still awaiting a resolution and have also filled with BBB. Once this is settled We will be taking our business elswhere
