My kids liked their counselor, Kathy Frode. I never had to wait as long as some other people in the reviews have claimed. I did have a scheduling issue with the office once for a series of appointments. Unfortunately, the office is closed! I’m needing info on how to get records and how to get in touch with Kathy Frode….

Extremely chaotic at all locations and the staff isnt always the nicest, Dr. Huff being the worst. Ive witnessed him yelling at the front desk infront of a lobby of people, and he told me that I was making stuff up when reading my mental health evaluation results, yet I tested as having severe chronic depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He also told me I wasnt diagnosed with ADD and didnt need to be on meds for it, but when I got home and went through the packet of test results, it stated that I was in fact ADD. Front desk lost one of my appointments one time, and if you have to call in for prescription refills, good luck because youll never get through. Its just utter chaos. Theyre ALWAYS, and I mean always behind on scheduling. If you show up to your appointment on time, be ready to wait at least an hour before youre seen. The lobby of people waiting are so loud and obnoxious, kids running around everywhere, people yelling at eachother, etc. Theres no structure or order, and certainly no peace. Been going here for a few years and nothing has changed. Luckily I found another place to go to and the comparison is night and day.

My regular doctor left the practice. I have been trying to get my prescriptions filled for 10 days. I am suffering extreme withdrawals for 3 days now. Do not use this practice.UPDATE: Finally got one script filled. No communication from a doctor. Still need 2 scripts. Again, this practice is junk. The only reason I stayed with them is because of the peraon I saw there. Now that she is gone, so am I.

Please save yourself the trouble . You’ll leave out feeling worse than how you came in. I was reassured that my insurance was accepted and seen TWICE ... while booking my third appointment I was told about a large balance I had ... I begin to ask questions about the balance .. the lady began to rush me and pretended she had no clue neither did she have the resources to see why my balance was so high. I was going to cancel my third appointment but the lady was able to reschedule me with a different doctor who did accept my insurance. It all happened so fast like I said I was rushed off the phone so I ended the call very confused .After doing my own research only certain doctors accept my insurance ... and the doctor they booked me with for my first two visits happened to be one of the few doctors that did not accept my insurance. I’m being charged $600 for just evaluation when I could’ve used my insurance to help cover it . The front desk reps are rude ... you will walk in and stand there for 5 mins before being greeted ... backs turned against you they won’t even look your way. Not only rude but they are careless and do not take accountability for any of their mistakes .

The therapist and doctors are fairly good but its difficult to get in contact with anyone when running late for an appointment. When you have a scheduled appointment with one of the doctors it never happens at the scheduled time. I can understand 15 minutes of waiting but Ive waited in excess of 45 minutes before being seen. Not a very efficiently ran office. Not to mention when checking for counseling sessions the receptionists will stay on the phone with what they are doing and make you wait negating the fact that you are losing valuable time with your therapist.

I love my doctor shes helped me with relationship issues with me and my husband and also personal issues. But I agree with other comments that the office staff makes you not want to go there they take their time getting to you answering the phone and half the time they dont even know the answer to your question. I just like to skip them and go straight to my doctor if theyll give you a direct line with an extension. I was lucky enough to get a good therapist on the first try. The only downfall is if you have any pre-existing conditions the medicine doctors there will not prescribe you anything and you have to go find another one lucky for me my therapist had some recommendations I was able to get my medication from another therapist at another location

I’ve been going here since 2016. The physiatrist are wonderful but the receptionist are rude. I cannot stand calling and receiving a nasty attitude EVERYTIME. If a receptionist is reading this, please, if you don’t like your job, don’t put it out on others. Share your love of Christ with your other coworkers and patients. You never know, maybe someone could be going in for the first time and is not a Christian and if your rudeness and terrible attitude is one of their first impressions of Christ, they will most likely turn the other way. Thank you for hiring well trained psychiatrist who are ambassadors of Christ. I hope and pray the receptionists will have a change of heart.

Set up is very confusing as they dont explain how they operate. Maybe its because this is my first seeking mental help but theu should be more accommodating to that fact. After spilling my life story to Danielle Gagne, thinking she was my psychiatrist, I left with being prescribed doxepin and a referral for therapy. I thought she was my therapist? Apparently not. Also, I have pre existing conditions which I have to take multiple medications for. She prescribed doxepin which I found out later after reading the pharmacy pamphlet and researching online it conflicts with 2 of my medications! I also told her Im hesitant with anti-depressive medicines because they take awhile to go into effect. I need mental relief NOW as Im a step away from receiving a heart transplant and dealing with a lot of anxiety from my life in general and managing the unknown of my heart failure treatment. However she seemed to put more weight on the fact Im 3 months postpartum and that was the issue of my problems rather than issues Ive been dealing with MY WHOLE LIFE. Now Im still trying not to break down in front of my kids and hide my panic attacks because she just wanted to shrug me off with postpartum depression. I have a following up appointment but Im going to cancel as she does not deserve anymore of my insurance money. How inconsiderate of you, Danielle.

Today was supposed to be my sons first appointment with Jessica Anderson. My first impression of the place was less than good, not the nicest waiting area. It gets crowded very quickly, there were 2 receptionist and 1 of them was training another receptionist. I understand that training someone is difficult but they were completely ignoring myself (standing right in front of them) and the 5 people behind me a minute. I checked in 10min early, had all my paperwork done and then we waited....and waited...and waited. Finally after 40min I went up to ask the receptionist why the wait was so long. She first corrected me instead of apologizing saying that I shouldve come up and said something after 10min. Then she double checks the schedule, calls back for Dr. Anderson, doesnt get an answer, asks the other receptionist if she knew anything, she didnt, she then looks at the schedule again and *light bulb* says, OH, I see there is a note here that Dr. Anderson had to leave early at 12 because she wasnt feeling well.....I shouldve gotten a call as soon as which ever receptionist put that note in, they shouldve thought to call all of her afternoon appointments and let them know.Overall Im feeling like not even trying to go back there. They did not make a great first impression. Especially after I just sat here and read everyone elses reviews of the place.

I had made an appointment with another therapist but I am to scare to start all over, afraid of being rejected about. If he felt like he couldnt handle our sessions than he should not have let them go on for months at a time, playing with my emotions. I called the founder and told him about the coward behavior behind Carey Savage. (Carey Savage called me up and try to trick me into getting another therapist. I couldnt understand why he didnt tell me why he did that. Thorough out our therapy session, he would be burping a lot like he was just there to get a check. My kids go to other therapist and I see how caring others are. I should have went to their therapist but I was trying to keep it all separate. According to the website, thats what is stated; but when I called, the lady said haha no. Its $150 for your first appointment and $50 for refills after that. Can someone whos been here before enlighten me on how their payment plans and sliding fee works for people without insurance who are still in the process of obtaining insurance? The customer service between the reception staff, scheduling, and billing departments are just awful. If they answer the phone or return a call at all, they are nasty and rude, full of attitude, argumentative, condescending, and just horribly unpleasant to talk to. It doesnt matter how calm and pleasant you are, even if you dont rise to their negative attitudes and argue back with them. And this is a mental health agency??? A Christian one, at that????? They mess things up and blame the patient. My husband called to reschedule an appointment, and they still charged him a no show fee because they forgot to take the old appointment off their calendar. We sent in a payment by mail, which they processed (have the statement to prove it), and they tried to recharge us because they didnt update their records to show it was paid. They REFUSE to budge on any errors being on their side. They just charged my husband a fee because they hadnt verified his insurance and didnt know what his copay was, even though it says it right on the card. Charged him $60 even though his copay is only $15, but would not let him see the doctor until he paid. What are you supposed to do??? And then, he was scheduled for an hour long appointment and they only saw him for 15 minutes. I really hate this place. Really unprofessional staff and managed very poorly.

There is one person who isnt all bad, and that is the nice woman who gave me the tests I needed. I have yet to be proven wrong on that count, and I do not recommend this place to anyone who need mental testing done no matter how desperate you may be. Best suggestion, whole front desk needs to through customer service training and find someone who can lead them.

She asked if we checked in. I actually checked in 15 mins early than my scheduled time. No apologies given and no time frame on when we will be seen. The doctors with whom Ive engaged are first class and I am very pleased with them and their genuine caring and professionalism. However, the office staff is a nightmare come to life. If youre not 15 minutes early for your appointment, youll wait in line for 5-10 minutes if not longer. The waiting room is no place for someone with PTSD, because the crowding and the loud noises will leave you in tears. I dread going into that office because of the office staff and the crowding. Theres one nice older lady within the office staff, but most days when I have an appointment, shes not present. And this may seem a minor point, but I *despise* that one must ask to use the bathroom. I have been coming here for about 6 years and have never had any issues with the staff, my therapist, or my medication provider. Dr. Guanzon, my medication provider is the most caring doctor I have ever known. She always takes the time to make sure I am well, and treats me like I am one of her family members, and from speaking to others that come here and see her, they all feel the same way about her. Jane Brown my therapist treats me the exact same way and I trust them both with my well being. The staff are very nice, and although sometimes the location I go to in Virginia Beach can be quite busy, the staff are always helpful and pleasant to speak with. Once or twice in the 6 years I have been coming here, I forgot to schedule my appointment before I left, and when I had a week left of medication I realized I never scheduled one. The staff and Dr Guanzon were very helpful in finding a way to fit me in to her schedule even though it was my fault for not scheduling another appointment. My son is a patient of Doctor Daniels and I finally changed that today after the grief this whole office puts my family through. Several months ago, my sons prescription ran out and I thought there was a refill, (my fault) however, for the next THREE days, I called and called the office asking for just a prescription to hold my son over for 3 days until his appointment. The first day Dr. Daniels was off, and for the next two days I was told the phone message was “in his box.” I finally got the prescription the day before the appointment, when my son was already in school without it.I should of left Christian Pyschotherapy after this incident however I didn’t. Fast forward to this week. Sunday, I called the pharmacy to have my sons prescription filled and they tell me the medication is on back order and I won’t be able to get it for over a week. Well since the prescription is electronically submitted, it can’t be transferred. (even to another Walgreens, which is insane) Well first thing Monday morning, I called and explained the situation to the Prescription line. Whoever answered the phone made me think there was a possibility for another doctor to simply call the pharmacies and cancel one prescription and submit another. I called back a few hours later, the phone rang for several minutes before I spoke to someone else who stated “I’ll call down there” (Which implies to me that she would find out what was going on through the medication nurse.) Still I never heard anything back. I called back around 2:30 and spoke to the first girl I had spoke to, she told me she did not know when the prescription would be sent to the pharmacy. At this point I did get an attitude because I keep getting the run around. All night, no prescription. This morning, I called, once again, first thing. After the phone ring for several minutes, I spoke again to the second girl I had talked to the day before. She explained the paperwork was on Dr. Daniels desk and that’s all she could tell me.I called the office back five times before the end of business. Every time I was unable to get a hold of anyone. The phone would ring and ring. (Maybe they are just avoiding my calls)Tomorrow my son will have no medication at school, and he will get a bad note written home, like the last time. All of this could have been avoided. This is such a simple request and it is a shame that the communication between the patient and doctor/staff is so delayed and poor. The biggest thing is if the staff could of just told me on Monday morning, “this thing has happened before and the doctor is off today, it may be a few days before he can take care of it, you may want to see if your primary care can do anything,” that would of been so much better than stringing me along for three days, where I’ve called the Walgreens so much the lady knows my sons info to check to see if the doctor has called in his prescription.Yes, It’s not the doctors office fault the prescription is back ordered, however it is there fault they have horrible customer service and this continues. They need more staffing to answer calls and training on customer service. The business certainly isn’t lacking in patients when I have to schedule appointments 3 months out, now use that money you are making and work on getting your online reviews better!!!!!

BEWARE!!!! A WARNING FROM THE HEART! I was attracted to this particular counseling agency because its name makes reference to being a Christian Network, however I consider their treatment of their patients to be somewhat INHUMANE. A very close relative of mines started treatment with this agency. Do to her particular mental health issues, managing her own schedule can sometimes be very difficult. (I have been helping her with this aspect of her life. )As a result, she failed to arrive for a couple of appointments on time but she did call to inform them as soon as she possibly could. She had been without her medication for a week already and was told that the earliest appointment to receive her medication would be thirty days out. They were aware that the medication that she was on should not be STOPPED ABRUPTLY because it can cause the patient to have a PSYCHOTIC BREAK! However they still refused to see her any sooner or give her any medication. While waiting for her next appointment, I saw her begin to mentally unravel. She SUFFERED greatly as the medication faded from her system. She became DELUSIONAL, AGGRESSIVE and became a potential THREAT to herself and the people around her. We tried to seek help from the ER but we were told to go to a mental health facility. Some places would not accept her insurance, others only had appointments for much later dates and we needed immediate care. She had NO SLEEP OR FOOD FOR DAYS. She BECAME PHSICALLY ILL. By the time she reached the day of the appointment she was EXTREMELY SLEEP DEPRIVED. On the day of the appointment she dosed off just a couple hours before. She had been up all that night and had finally fell asleep. Once we got her awake, I called to let them know that I was on my way with her but may be 15 minutes late and this is when she and I were informed that she would not be able to see her doctor and was being terminated as a patient for being late and missing an appointment in the past. We pleaded with the staff, explaining our situation, begging for CHRISTIAN consideration, just this one time we pleaded! But the answer was a hard, cold NO! I watched her suffering as the ABRUPT STOP of this medication caused her to become unraveled and ultimately suicidal. She became a threat to the people around her as she became more delusional and paranoid. I feel, if this establishment decides to stop seeing a patient, fine, however they should at least provide enough medication to serve as a bridge, allowing the patient and family to seek out another phycisian. Her prescription as well as other psychiatric medications, have a LABEL WARNING that these types of medications should NEVER BE STOPPED ABRUPTLY because it can cause a psychotic break! This organization still has no problem ignoring this warning and sending the patients out into the world knowing that they now pose a PUBLIC SAFETY RISK! They also have a HIGH RISK OF COMMITTING SUICIDE! How does this total disregard for human life display CHRISTIAN VIRTUES in any way? This was a VERY CRUEL way to treat a mentally disturbed person in my opinion. Also, what needs to be considered is, as a citizen yourself, how would you feel if someone in your family was attacked by an individual who was experiencing a psychotic break. Especially when you discover that this break was 100% preventable just by this establishment ensuring that THEIR PATIENT was mentally stabilized before terminating THEIR RELATIONSHIP with him or her. How unfair that would be to you and your family. This organization needs take responsibility for the people the agree to help and to find a better policy and procedure concerning the severance of mentally unsable patients. If not, im afraid that its only a matter of time before some innocent person is injured or looses their life for something that was totally preventable.

Which would have been helpful ti have been told on the phone. At this point its 1147. I go upstairs and talk to the same women i spoke with on the phone and she asked for my id and insurance. I give it to her and she calls someone and says yea i know and laughs. Now its 1150. She hangs up smiling and says to me it wont be fair to you because you will only have 15mins with him....why would i only have 15mins....? And she tells me that he has another appointment at 1215 😐 YOU KNEW THAT WHEN I CALLED AND YOU SAID 1145 WOULD BE THE GRACE PERIOD! If i would have know that it was only 45 min sessions and they scheduled back to back leaving only 30 mins after the grace period i would have rescheduled when i called instead of wasting my time driving there smh veryyyy unprofessional. Wont be returning. There are people who are going through very difficult times and you need to have a certain bedside manner to do that type of work and she does NOT! especially with it being a Christian facility smh

This is by far the worst place to seek help. Dr Bogus is very unprofessional and could care less for his patients. Please do not waste your time and money with these fools. You will leave with more problems than you came in with.

I called on Friday to verify the time of my appointment today (Monday) and when I showed up to my appointment today they told me my insurance was no longer covering my appointments and they cancelled my appointment for me last Thursday and refused to see me today. Then why did the person on Friday tell me my appointment was at 1:30 today? Now Im left scrambling for a therapist and medication at the last minute. Ive been going here for almost 2 years and this is unreal.
