People may have issues or other circumstances that make it a disappointment for them. However they are a very useful and needed requirement inside this community. The cost of living is to high for a place I dont think is great at all. Jobs here pay to low and a lot of families are struggling to survive here. They provide a service that is helpful especially when your at the bottom in your most difficult time. I am grateful for this service as it is the only reason i am surviving right now. So i can not leave a negative review because they help to many people in their time of need.

So far, they have been extremely helpful. Also, they communicate well. They make sure that you understand whats happening and why. I never encountered a long line yet.

I dont understand how this place is ran...clearly not by competent individuals. On hold for 30 mins just to be transferred to a voicemail service of someone who couldnt clearly state their name. I dont have a lot of time in my day between work and my children and spending HOURS on the phone to have none of my questions answered leaves people frustrated, and then yall wonder why people are disgruntled when someone finally stops digging in their nose to answer the phone.

Cause get what I need there, but was giving great information

Like all places of business, busy times and slack times can make all the difference is spread of service or alacrity of acknowledgement.Check your slide bar graph regarding busy times or you might be stuck, bored, and inefficiently spending extra time waiting. Even better, try to make an appointment first. If not able try to be the first in line or closer to the first in the afternoons.

I go here for supervised visits with my daughter. Then applying for Medicaid and SNAP BENEFITS THEY TELL US TO DO ONE THING AND THEN WE DO IT AND NOW YOU DONT QUALIFY FOR VENEFIRA U MAKE $4.00 TOO MUCH

They never help me! Never return my calls. I really need their help and cant get my worker to call me.. By the way second worker to dothis as a result my food stamps got cut off and I am 65 years old and disabled and out of food. Hard to go to food bank because I dont drive.

The employees there were so friendly and very helpful when I went in to pickup my Snap card.

I spoke with a worker by the name of Robert Smith and wanted to express how Unprofessional this individual was/is. Very argumentative, dismissive, and few other verbs/nouns/Pronouns that I won’t mention. A poor excuse of what the Department of Human Services SHOULD represent. The Virginia Beach Department of Human Services will always have a Bad reputation as long as they continue to hire individuals like Robert Smith. My advice for you Robert would be as follows: Take some classes/trainings on how to Communicate Effectively with women and stop trying to be one.

This place is the worst as far as customer service. The case workers never return your phone calls and when they do they are stressing you to submit more paper work for one thing or another. But let them even think your trying to get over and they waste no time sending it to the 3rd floor to be investigated. The worker Susanne Smith that handles investigations acts like she loves sending people to court to try and get prosecuted. She told me of 3 different people she was submitting paper work to court on as if she were getting commission for each one. Then had the nerve to say Im a Christian woman. Yeah OK! These people are the worst. Thats why there is such a high turn over rate here.

After over 50 phone calls and several in person visits only to be left sitting in a waiting room for hours and still no resolution to issues that are the fault of Human Services my efforts to correct these issues have gone unheard at 66 years old Im assuming they are playing a waiting game in the hope I die I have come to the conclusion that perhaps death would be a blessing and cant come soon enough.

I’ve had nothing but issues here. My son has to go without insurance because they won’t give me a call back and they ask for ridiculous amounts of information that are nearly impossible to obtain. I have been waiting MONTHS for my EBT card and my case worker refuses to call back and never answer her phone her supervisor doesn’t even answer her phone. I had issues with this place while I was pregnant and had to go in SEVERAL TIMES.

If I could give them less than a star I would. I use to work for them a long time ago and they still have the worse service ever ! I called Ms. Fields and left plenty of messages for her and yet still no answer !!! no call back !!! I am BEYOND tired and upset with them. My son has to go without insurance because they never put him in the system its been WELL OVER 2 MONTHS now. they are supposed to be here to help out but yet they cause more stress. Most of the people their sit in their cubicles and text sleep or just plain do not be at their desk ! I am over it !

They never return phone calls, I left numerous messages for my case worker, never recieved a call back, called the supervisor Mrs. Fields numerous times and left messages never got a call back. I finally went in and was told Mrs. Fields wasn’t available but she would call me the following day, never recieved a phone call. This place is a joke.
