I am 100% satisfied with my overall experience! Its shocking, considering my fear of dentists! The clinic is always cleaner than clean and ALL the staff is incredibly nice! The Dentist, Dr. Ortega, and her assistant, Blaire, are absolutely the BEST! Any anxiety I had..they completely took away! These two go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and happy! I would recommend anyone and everyone to go see them if you need dental work! Thank you guys so much at Victoria Community Health Center! Y’all are very much appreciated!!! 😃

ALL the girls in the office know me now but they are all so professional and friendly. I would highly recommend the clinic.

I had an appointment at the Victoria clinic because I required a deep cleaning and was pending to do this review. I wanted to say in this review that The responsible hygienist was very kind and explained in detail what she would do to me in a clear and professional way, something that I had never been explained to me. Before she started the cleaning, the doctor responsible for the clinic explained to me the reason why it was necessary to put anesthesia. I did not even feel when she did it. She was professional and with silky hands. I did not feel anything during the cleaning and also after leaving the clinic. They were both very kind during the treatment.Thanks for such a good job with me as a patientThey know what they do, so I recommend them both

A few days ago my tooth started hitting worse than before I went in. I only had a small break on the inside of my back tooth. I looked and my tooth has been mutilated. Its jagged and the top had been chopped all apart in different directions. Im getting flash pains in it now. I dont know if it can be fixed, or If Im going to have to get it pulled.A waste of $100.

ZERO STARS/The HORRIBLE/WORST- Victoria Community Health Center Dr. Martha Avila-Adame- My mom called to be seen early in the morning and was set to go in at 9:15. My mom confirmed it and drove 25 minutes to be seen at that time. However, she was just 2 minutes after her appointment. The staff decides to decline her appointment and stated she could no longer be seen. That she could come back again at 4pm to see if someone canceled (waste gas again because its so cheap). Because the provider is now busy and wont be able to see her at the moment anyway. The following day she calls to schedule again and was scheduled in the morning. Arrives at her appointment and was not able to be seen in a room. Everything was over the phone. She then gets prescribed TWO medications and gave her local pharmacy a moment to have them filled. She then goes in the afternoon and picks them up. She was able to pick one medication up and the other was never received at the local pharmacy. I went in person to the clinic and the receptionist checks and stated both medications were sent electronically at so and so time. I called her pharmacy again and they said no I am being honest we received just one. I can send them a request and you can have your mom call again. Well long story short, my mom calls the clinic again and they come to say oh Dr stated its not a prescription medication. You can get the medication over-the-counter.All this running around and trying to get my moms medication so she can feel better, and they decide to just say its an over-the-counter medicine. I feel it was NOT an over-the-counter med. They only said that so my mom can stop bothering them. Also so they dont have to be dealing with having to send it again etc. Why would the receptionist tell me the time/date they were BOTH sent out? So my mom was charged to be seen(called over the phone only!) and just to tell her to get a medication thats over-the-counter?? smh some providers SHOULD NOT be licensed to do what they signed up for. If they cannot perform their job correctly, be friendly and greet all patients with a smile. But yet yall want yalls money, patient to arrive on time, patients to wait on yall and be called 20-30 minutes after the appt time(some are fasting for lab work), and have zero complaints. JUST BECAUSE ITS A GOVT ASSIST. CLINIC. IT DOES NOT GIVE YALL THE RIGHT TO TREAT PATIENTS THIS WAY, ESPECIALLY THE ELDERLY!!🤬😡

Many years I avoided dentists because of the dental experiences I have had in the past. That being said, my teeth were in horrible shape. Dr. Ortega and her staff are THE BEST! She is VERY gentle and extremely thorough!! They are laid back and professional making the anxiety a thing of the past. I received a confirmation call the day before my appt . I was not near my phone when they called so they left a message. I returned their call and was told that I needed to make an appt for help to quit smoking for my surgery. I asked what surgery she girl on the other end said she didn’t know just what the notes said I told her she was telling me I was having surgery but you can’t tell me what kind of surgery I’m having she said it’s just what the notes said ! I have also been waiting on a referral to an orthopedic for my wrist which I feel I should have gotten by now.

Today I took my husband in for his blood work review. The nurse practitioner Martha was rude. Wasnt interested in hearing what we had to say about his condition. My husband cant walk and has to have a walker now. He has emphysema. and copd and was told at hospital he has osteoarthriris in his hips and knees. His condition has gotten worse and she said he looked fine and his blood work is fine. Even though he has elevated wbc count for past 3 yrs and because doctors change so often and I tried to explain to her that Dr krafton had referred him to hemotologisr and cardiologists but we have no money or insurance to go. She didnt bother to really look. And said I dont see anything here. We need him to be evaluated by doctor to have as I medical papeework filled out and said we dont fill those out here. And Dr.long had done one for us before. It makes no sense when this is his primary care clinic. This man is disabled and he is only getting worse. Never have I seen someone treat us so cold and rude in my life. Now we are told to wait for a call for appt with Dr Irwin and she said or when we get another Dr at that clinic. So how long is that going to take? She couldnt answer that or even clarify if hed even Do the ad ssi evaluation and paperwork. I just dont understand!! He needs help!!

Worst experience I have personally ever had in Victoria with any doctors office. The ladies who set the appointments dont seem to know much and hardly answer the phone! I was given the run around two days in a row about my appointment which was set in advance! I had to call them and ask why didnt the doctor call me and it was excuse after excuse and then the final time the lady just got rude said i would get called next and two hours later no call! I switched doctors the same day. How can these people work in this type of business and care about others health and well being?! You are better off going to the local E.R. than sitting around waiting for their office and/or doctor to call you for your scheduled appt! Dont waste your time with this ignorant staff.

I normally dont do reviews but i just feel the need to say how AMAZING my experience was! This dental clinic was a true blessing for me! Thats coming from someone who in the past has visited several expensive dental offices (with a few bad & painful experiences). I have to say, i was very, very impressed with the caring & knowledgeable staff, Dr Beatrice Ortega, was the BEST, she made sure that i was comfortable and aware of what to expect from the beginning to the end. Very compassionate, which put my nerves at ease. I would highly recommend this clinic to my family & friends with no hesitation. Thank you Dr Ortega!❤

First visit was okay. Second visit was awful. Basically got yelled at by the NP or whatever she is for having too many problems and having no health insurance. No help at all from that appointment just a waste of time. Some people cant afford health insurance you know...

Awful. Unprofessional! I called & made an appointment on Friday for Tues @3:15. I recieved a confirmation text message. The does not say that I need to come in a hour early & doesnt not have a link attached (didnt know I needed it because I had insurance. ) Well today,Tuesday at 2:47,at the office, Im told that Im too late. I should of been there at 2:15 to do paperwork. The confirmation text does not have that anywhere. So I finally received another message & a link while Im waiting outside. The lady also hangs up in my face & then sends a cancellation text. Thanks for nothing. For Gods sake, Im only trying to get a refill on birth control pills.

Worst place ever. My husband was told to come in early in the morning because of the pain in his teeth, drove 40 minutes there just to be told that he couldn’t be seen. They never answered the phone and when they finally did, the lady who answered was very rude. They are liars and I would never recommend this place to anyone!

I am so fortunate to have a clinic to go to especially since I do not have insurance nor do I have money to pay for my visits. If I went to a regular doctors office I would be paying over $100.00 for a visit, and at this clinic I only pay between $10.00-$25.00 and I am so blessed and thankful!! Yes sometimes the wait is long but I am willing to wait to get the care and resources I need for my health. It is frustrating to hear the other negative comments when I know the staff goes above and beyond for patient care. The staff is nice and I enjoy coming to my doctor visits. Keep up the good work.

Ive had really good experiences here. I like all of the Drs, but have been seeing Dr. Crafton lately & shes attentive & straight forward. The staff has always been courteous & helpful. I usually dont have a long wait to be treated. I dont have insurance so paying $25 a visit has been a lifesaver.

Awful. Denied my mother because of paperwork which has never been mentioned till today through jumping through hoops for a month and all of a sudden shes back at square one. Thanks for nothing.

I am writing this review based solely on the fact that I saw so many bad reviews. The staff and the doctors try their hardest to be professional and friendly and treat everyone like they are they’re only patient. I don’t think people realize what all goes behind the scenes in a hospital and the fees that are involved with certain things but this place is a really good place for low income families and people and I go there and yeah sometimes I have to wait a really long time but this is Victoria and there’s tons of people that come to this place as well.

Got blood work done, but never got a call back, it’s been almost 2 weeks and not a word.I know for sure I’m not “fine” , overall pretty unsatisfied.

They never answer the phone. Never. Customer service needs to be better than what it is here. Patients rely on the staff and a lot of the staff seem like they dont care enough. They also need to work on handling information/paper work for the patients properly and in a timely manner.In other words: Hey give us your money and then maybe well help you.Good Ole Murica!Olga has been especially helpful in a lot of situations though. Thank you for that. Too bad she Isnt a doctor though. She can only do so much for the patients.

I did have to wait a long while but everyone that I encountered was polite and very helpful!!! The NP that I saw was thorough and knowledgeable about my condition. This was my first visit and I certainly will return.Thank you all for making me feel comfortable!!!

They cancel your appointment if you aren’t 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. As if you couldn’t fill it out in the 2 to 3 hours you have to wait there🙄. Then they will halfway tell you the paper work you need so when you come back you, of course won’t have everything and it’ll be another month for you to be seen.

They have very bad service for the patients, especially the front desk people, very unprofessional and rude. I’m sick and it’s already horrible enough to deal with my own condition, without a good patient service just make the matter worse. The only positive note is the family practitioner, very caring and willing to listen.

I was seen 4/24/2019 and was told by the dentist that because of my anxiety she would not have the staff or herself treat me and that I should go to any other Dentist in town that would be better equipped to sedate me. I told the Dentist that I didn’t have the money TWICE AND I was not asking for sedition, I just have a disability and apologized several times for my anxiety. They were NOT UNDERSTANDING and I left devastated, embarrassed and humiliated. People with mental illness should not be treated with so little compassion. A very sad representation of what Victoria has to offer.

Called to schedule an appointment and a girl named Lexi, lex , lexa or whatever answered . Very rude!!! the appointment was for me and she told me that i was going to need to bring my kids birth certificates n social and so I had to asked why if it was not for them. I guess I must of put her in a spot because she didnt really know what to say and when I said that it was ok and thank you, This Female who apparently hates her job hung up on me! Thanks girl u may cancel my appointment 😂 dont care for services like that. You are in the wrong field!

Very unprofessional, lazy, and inconsiderate staff! They never reschedule your follow up appointments like the dr says. The staff is rude and every time you call to try to ask a question or get an appointment etc if it is something they don’t want to do or maybe don’t know how they just hang up on you. Dr.Angie was great. The others including the person taking you vitals al act like they hate there jobs and just ready to go home. Also sucks they don’t have any equipment here either. Switching doctors after the first month. I cannot deal with the unprofessionalism of this place!!

The most important thing to know about this facility is that not one of the doctors or nurse practitioners have a license to prescribe any scheduled medication. That means for people like me that need ambien to sleep they cannot do anything. The nurse practitioner said pain medication of any kind was completely out of the question so if you ever find yourself in pain then this primary care provider cannot treat you. When I got my blood pressure taken the person doing it hoped the blood pressure cuff was working because she said a lot of their equipment is breaking down and they arent allowed to replace it until they move to a new building. My first appointment was cancelled by them and when I went to my second appointment I found out they had cancelled that one too because the day previously they had called me to confirm the appointment while I was at work, they didnt leave a message so I never called them back to confirm. On the third appointment time to establish a primary care provider I waited 2 hours 10 minutes from the time they said to be there just to get 5 minutes time of a nurse practitioner. This place serves poor people and their rates are $85 per visit for people without insurance which beats my new primary care provider which is $140 (although they may give me a discount, havent been in yet), but cheaper rates dont mean anything if they cant actually treat real medical problems. The only thing that cheaper $85 is getting you is a substantial delay in weeks waiting to be seen and an extra $85 expense before they hopefully refer you to a doctor who can prescribe medication and has equipment that works.

After being told, when I called to make an appointment, that they could do the extraction that day, they refused because my period was a couple of days late. Had me fill out all the paperwork, then told me that, cause at 42 yrs old, my period was 4 days late (after being in severe pain for 2 weeks) that cause I MIGHT be pregnant, that they wouldnt do the extraction. Period showed up less than 24 hrs later, but now I dont have a ride to get it pulled.

I hate this place dont know what the hell they r doing sucks will never recomed it to anybody trying to get the hell out of ther n they keep making excuses to exit me out

This is a terrible place. They say they will help and pretend to have programs but all they do is take your money without treating you. I waited 4 hours to be seen as an emergency walk in in excruciating pain after being on antibiotics for ten day only to be told thery had too many other patients and didnt have time to pull my tooth and I would have to come back. I spent all the money I had on that appointment so now no more money to get the treatment I need. This place is preying on the poor to line there pocket books.

The most racist place I have ever been to. Employees are rude, if you speak they look at you and never say anything back. Never a great, just what is the problem..smh...this is sad
