Doc Lynman has been my doc for over 20 yrs, He is a wonderful doctor, he has pulled me through some very horrible times over the years and I have all the respect in the world for him!

Been seeing Dr. Lyman for 3 years, hes a great doctor, actually listens to you and cares about his patients. Would recommend to anyone! I dont have insurance and his price is very affordable. My quality of life has improved tremendously thanks to him

I saw himMany years ago. If I only had followed his advices my life would have been much better. He may not be everyone cup of tea but Doctors are not your friends, they are there to treat you. They listen, prescribe and some are more friendly than others. Well, even tough I have never returned to see him I had a real good impression.

I have been seeing Dr.Lyman for the past 3 years. He saved my life. Having tried several meds with another Physician for my illness and not having found anything good. I asked Dr. Lyman to let me try an older less popular choice. I explained my reason and he said that he supported my idea lets try it. We did and I have been well balanced ever since. He is not a counselor he is a dr. He helped me in a way that has allowed me to have a regular life again. So I guess Thanks.

I read the reviews and had to defend Dr Lyman. I have been a patient of his for over 10 years and he is an awesome psychiatrist. He will take the time to listen and work with you to find the correct medication and doses to treat you. I don’t understand where the negative reviews are coming from but I hate for a great doctor to be misrepresented. If you are looking for help in Victoria I would highly recommend Dr Lyman.

I read the other reviews and am shocked as they don’t represent my experience at all. I’ve never had anything but manners and kindness from the receptionist and Dr. Lyman spent over 45 minutes with me on my first appointment getting a full background and sat and listened patiently as I explained what I was going through. I was at the end of my rope and he literally saved me. When I called the emergency line he called me back immediately and wasn’t the least bit impatient or upset that I had called. So far I’m very impressed with this doctor and have gotten a lot of help from him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Hello Bipolar 1 here. And I have had many P-docs. I really like Lyman. He listens without judgement and works with me to find the right medication. I understand people are unhappy - it is a hard hard road for the mentally ill and we need so much more than any doctor can give. But I think myself very fortunate to have him in V-town. I worked with a doc that took insurance here and it was HELL. My mother pays for me to see him. But blame the insurance companies and the mental health crisis- it is so rare to find a good doc that takes insurance. If you can afford it - we are the lucky few. And I think people are misinformed about what a P-doc does. His focus is on medicine. I see a therapist once a week to help with my daily struggle. I know Lyman has my back and I am hopeful that with his help I can prevent psychosis. I plan on being a success story. I pray that we all will.

I told him my anxiety attacks were getting worse and worse when I would have them. I told him I was hurting myself more and more. He wrote stuff down months ago. I finally was put on a different medication and its doing something but its not magic and Im probably lashing out. I still feel like I cant fully trust him yet and I feel like he may be starting to actually listen to me. I dont think hes a terrible person like others seem to, but I feel offering any other coping mechanisms would be beneficial for those of us that cant also afford a therapist as well. Im fine with being on medication, but its not a cure all. I have to chose between medication and counseling. Im not super happy about my experience with how much I have to pay out of pocket but it is what it is.

Absolutely no customer service skills and rude receptionist. I called for simple availability to help relay information to my family member who is a current patient but has not had time to inquire on availability. The receptionist was rude telling me repeatedly my family member needed to call. I asked for zero patient information and was simply inquiring on their offices appointment availability so I could relay the information. Since when is asking generally when a doctors office has an opening for an appointment a violation of HIPAA? Absolutely ridiculous and absurd.

He is not a bad psychiatrist, maybe not a perfect fit for everyone. He does listen to everything you say.

They love to take your money every month... but as far as helping you out its about like talking to a wall. Wasted 4-5 years going here. By far one of the worst psychiatrists in Victoria. Dont waste your money Victorians. Theres much better psychiatrists in town. Just trying to save people money. Evil man

I have been seeing Dr Lyman for several years. The first time I saw him I told him I wasnt looking for therapy, been there done that. I just needed help with my medication. He respected that and he always asks me how I have been doing and listens to my responses without interrupting. He has respected my opinions about how well my meds were working or not working. Together we found a med for my bipolar that works well. I really like Dr Lyman. I think he is a fine psychiatrist and an honorable human being. I dont plan to change Drs. My life is so much better now that I have the correct diagnosis and the correct medicine for it. I have seen some reviews that state that all he does is take a persons money, and I have found that to be untrue. He is definitely not all about the money. I believe he cares about my wellbeing. I would highly recommend him.

This is by far one of the worst psychiatrist in Victoria. He does not care about your well bieng. I have went to see him several times only to feel ignored. Its like he didnt care for what I had to say and that he just wanted me out of his office. Very rude. Please friends dont waste your money on Robert Lyman.. you will be let down tremendously in the end. I was literally in tears leaving his office. I cant believe citizens allows this to continue.... they need to fire him and get a more qualified psychiatrist to take his place. This is ridiculous. Shame on you Dr.lyman.

Ive been going to him for 5 years and i will probably never change dr again. He truely cares about his patients.
