The integrity of the office staff is extremely questionable! Dr. Rudd was recommended to me by a great friend who I trust.... Our experience with Dr. Rudd was informative and helpful. She helped me understand my sons vision difficulties and gave me hope that his vision would be corrected with her prescription. My sons prescription was made and I was excited because his vision difficulties were having a profound negative impact on his ability to do well in an educational setting. Unfortunately, we endured three weeks of fighting with him to keep his glasses on. I made another appointment to have her recheck his prescription. Lo in behold, his prescription was drastically different, to the point that he didnt need glasses until later in life. Immediately I returned his glasses and didnt request a refund because my husband and I were looking into having him go through vision therapy.To have him assessed was going to cost close to the amount of the credit I was going to receive for the return of the glasses $400. We have the assessment on March 26, 2021 and was informed afterwards that due to him being hyperactive and his inability to fully concentrate, they were only able to give him fifty percent of the assessment. So they gave me a credit of $268.60. April 21, 2021, we finally sit down and talk about their conclusions of the assessment, to which ended with us having to make a decision on whether or not we would continue to go further with their recommendations. After much thought and looking into other opinions, we concluded that we could not commit to $7,631 amount to continue with therapy. I contacted Dr. Rudds office on May 7 and informed the receptionist of our decision and wanted the credit refunded back to me. I knew it would take a couple of days but never in a million years would I have thought that this process would take as long as it has. Today, two weeks later, I was reluctantly given a refund on my card. It will most likely take 2-5 business days for it to hit my account but regardless the process was completed.This experience has been a life lesson.....get the refund..pay for the services after the services has been rendered then this problem will not occur again. I hope my experience will help you!

I would like to take a minute and let the Tyler community know how good Todays Vision has been to me. Ive recently been trying to find the right contacts and went through alot trying to find the right ones. After trying several brands and numerous trips to the office. I was starting to feel like I was being a pain in the butt, but that was just me. They never once said anything and was always very nice and helpful. If your looking for an eye doctor Todays Vision is the place to go.

A New personal record! The worst prescription Ive ever had!Let me explain:1. Wasnt even facing the wall with the letters to see them, was facing the door to the right of the chair.2. Told doctor I was seeing double, her reply to the other lady taking down the info was just ignore that.3. I got put in Astigmatism contacts for both eyes but Im 24 years old and have been wearing contacts for years and never had an Astigmatism in either eyes my whole life.4. I disclosed when I went in, that I had the contacts I was wearing in for about a month straight, meaning my cornea was swollen from having the contact in for so long.5. Due to number 4, my prescription is now under-strength, I cant really see that great out of my glasses nor contacts, and my Contacts keep falling out when I blink.As far as service goes though, all of the staff was very polite.

Jimmy helped me pick out frames that looked good on me, doubled checked the measurements When ordering the glasses. When I picked them up he took his time with the fitting. Made sure nothing was hurting or uncomfortable behind my ears. I give him 200 stars .

Dr. Rudd was fantastic! She was so personal and really took the time to explain everything for me. I was disappointed when I called back in to get some information that wasn’t in my prescription and the office staff told me I could not have it unless I paid $50. I felt like it was general information about myself and aggravated that they refused to give it to me. Other than that everything was good.

No one person or one practice can make everyone happy all of the time, but Todays Vision sure does do their best. This is all you can ever ask for as we are all imperfect beings. We all need to ask ourselves what our personal rating would look like if everyone we interacted with throughout the day had the ability to leave us a personal review.Dr. Rudd and her staff are lovely people and she is an eye care master. Dr Rudd is very knowledgeable and takes time to get a thorough history from her patients. She also provides a wide range of resources to help her patients. As a traumatic brain injury survivor I have gotten relief from symptoms I have had for years. Highly recommend!

Just spare yourself the headache-in all seriousness, my husband had lenses from here. They got scratched really bad etc. He called to have them release the Rx since we now live 7.5 hrs away-and they won’t. Just flat out won’t do it. Even with very good insurance it was all around $320+ so shouldn’t we be entitled to Rx that we paid for so we can have the lenses re-ordered and put in the same frames somewhere closer to where we live?

WOW! This was my first visit to an eye doctor since moving to Tyler, and it turned out to be the best experience Ive had in the 25 years Ive been wearing glasses. The staff was just amazing and very helpful. All my questions and concerns were addressed and I even got a free pair of sunglasses with my contact lens purchase. The attention to my eye care needs has never felt a priority as it did today and I really appreciate all that the staff did for me. Thank you so much!

I have a particularly hard vision problem to correct. Dr. Rudd was very through in her exam. The staff took their time teaching how to handle the special lenses. My vision is much better than anticipated. While the costs was high, the results are so good I dont care. Nice to see so well.

Fantastic staff, very thorough exam and personal attention!! I trust my childrens and my eye health exclusively to Dr Rudd!! Her passion for the connection between the eye and brain and childrens success at school led her to discover that my son was seeing double! She and her staff then helped my son to overcome this through vision therapy!! Because of her astute assessment, my son will struggle less, if not at all, in school!! 5 HUGE stars!

I have gone here for years, but every time I leave feeling uncomfortable because they try so hard to pressure you into overpriced contacts and glasses. Literally double or more. Everyone is very nice, but the contacts I wear range from $25-35 per box for an annual supply everywhere else I’ve checked but from here they are $70. Same thing with glasses. I was planning on buying my frames from somewhere else but they had clearance frames advertised for $50. But when I asked how much they were I was told $100. I liked the frames so I was ok with that, but when we sat down to order them and I told her I had insurance she informed me the price would be $289 and I would have to pay the portion my insurance didn’t cover which was $159! WITHOUT lenses. How exactly does a $100 frame become $289 just because I have insurance?? I have very good insurance. I shouldn’t have to pay much at all out of pocket for a full pair. I just walked out. This was the last straw for me. They were already acting like I had a third eye because I wanted to look at clearance frames in the first place and kept trying to steer me to higher priced frames. I’ve ordered similar frames from elsewhere. Same brand. For $160 WITH lenses. No glassses should cost that much no matter what the brand. I’ll be finding a new Dr. I should have done it years ago.

I’ve only been there once the staff was very friendly and the service was timely , but I definitely left there feeling I over paid. I have two VSP plan one through my job which covers one eye exam a year and the other I pay out of pocket. I went in wanting to get both contacts and frames which should have been no problem with two plans. I left out of there with a $260 bill and only contacts needless to say I’ll be shopping around for a new ophthalmologist.

My son, my daughter and myself have used Dr. Rudd as our optometrist for 9 years and feel we get much more thorough and detailed service in her office than elsewhere. She has loyalty to her patients rather than the biggest retail system in the country or the two healthcare systems in Tyler.

Worst place ever!! They kept me waiting for 40 minutes the staff are friendly but when it comes to prices this is the most over priced place in Tyler i pay almost 700 dollars for a pair of glasses and the eye exam.

I went to Dr. Rudd to seek advice on my keratoconus. I couldnt have been more pleased with her and her staff (especially Julie). The recommendations Dr. Rudd gave me will hopefully put an end to 21+ years of frustrating vision(negative 12 nearsightedness -legally blind). If they werent 2 hours away each way I would make Todays Vision my eye care provider!
