After a terrible visit at banner health coming to this institution was a great change of pace. They took very good care of me as an inpatient. They respond quickly to call lights and go above and beyond to make you comfortable and happy. They found alternatives for my diet based on my allergies and preferences, found alternatives to my meds because I don’t like needles and they were all just very kind genuine caring people. My stay was short but my impact was big, they helped me walk again easily and as comfortably as possible. They also provided transportation to and from appointments for me. And set me up with at home therapy to further help me recover. Would recommend

They promised exceptional care. My husband has had several debilitating strokes, and they promised to help him to walk and use a fork and spoon to be more independent. Instead they left him sitting alone all day. Hes incontinent, and one nurse told him he was too lazy to go to the bathroom. HE CANT WALK! Then upon discharge, they didnt have his gait belt tight enough, and he fell on his wheelchair, hitting his hip and causing a hematoma that was so bad he ended up in the ER and had to stay in the hospital. When I called Encompass they acted appalled and promised the CEO would call, but of course no one ever called. shoddy, uncaring nursing staff and disconnected management.

I think that the outpatient physical therapy will help greatly with my recovery. My therapist Geneva Kaplan is competent in her field, nice, good to work with. I feel that she will help me to recover fully from my injury.Update: When I went into surgery in June, my surgeon told me it would take 4 to 6 months for me to recover enough to go back to work and drive. Well, its been 4 months and Im ready to drive and work again. Im certain that I owe my good recovery to Geneva Kaplans skilled and patient work with me. Great experience!

Care is excellent and compassionate. My daughter can neither speak nor feed herself well at this time and there was an aid who was impatient and rude to her, scolding her, saying you need to learn how to feed yourself!, but after speaking with the nurse about it, the aid returned and was honestly much better and more patient. This it the Best place in Tucson for Rehabilitation and nursing care! The Best! The Nurse coordinator is amazing; thoughtful, kind and compassionate. God bless her for making my daughters stay as comfortable as possible and keeping an open line of communication, shes so kind and conscientious... going far above an beyond what is required, I will never forget you💕 Im teary eyed, were going to miss you terribly. Its difficult knowing my daughter is leaving your watchful eye.The nursing staff has gotten to know my daughter, and even though she cannot speak at the moment, they have gotten to know her and her preferences. OT, PT, Respiratory Therapy and all therapies and therapists are caring and kind and very skilled at what they do. We need more facilities that are of this caliber, that offer this kind of high quality care and staff. The Best! 5 stars!

11/26/2020 3:42amI havent even been here 24 hrs and I dont feel comfortable at all. I thought this was supposed to be a good rehabilitation center. I should have read the reviews carefully, another review from a person of color said they were put in the very back at the furthest point. I sat in my wheelchair for nearly 20 minutes to get assistance to the bed after Manny the transportation guy took me to my room. I was then told the overhead lights dont work. The bed is old and makes weird noises adjusted. The nurse I ended up with for the evening said he would be back in 10 minutes to administer pain meds that I desperately needed and took nearly an hour. I was told by the UMC nursing staff that I would receive toradol when I arrived at this facility she had called ahead regarding my pain management as my leg was swelling up from the days activity. The night nurse here said he would check into it but there were no notes for him regarding such a thing. He gave me a way too low dose of pain medication and nothing for my severe inflammation, he said he would contact the on call doctor. Then when giving me my lovanox injection he did it really slow and made it extremely painful. I have been getting these shots for almost 30 days and he made it hurt the worst almost like it was on purpose. It took over an hour to get the toradol shot. I was experiencing severe pain from the inflammation for a total of 7 hrs and the pain was exacerbated by the drive over. The nurses aid was also rude. She assisted me to the bathroom, when I was done I waited for her as I could here her in the room, SHE opened the bathroom door and I stood up to get back into my wheelchair. Then she got an attitude with me and said Im not allowed to get off the toilet with no one around. I tried to explain she was there in the bathroom with me and I waited for her and she proceeded to try and argue that I have to pull the cord, I just stopped talking. When I was wheeled to my bed I found that she had taken my clean and dry paper sheet and put down the quilted one, she threw away my paper sheet which upset me because the paper sheet is breathable and better for my grafts donor site than the fabric ones that get too hot and irritate my healing skin. She then offered me the one in the trash. Thats not sanitary! I thought this was a professional healthcare facility. She then rudely asked if I wanted the mandatory ultrasound, I said if its required then fine and again with attitude she said yes or no. Im regretting coming here. Im terrified to be here as this has all happened in less than 10 hrs. I dont think I will be able to sleep at all tonight.12/22/2020 UpdateNot only did this facilitys nurses (including a wound care nurse) fail to realize that my skin graft had become necrotic which landed me in the ER but they also have zero regard for a patients opinions and comfort level. Im not only being discharged tomorrow with little to no PT or OT with a non weight bearing leg but with no equipment that I need and no one to follow-up with or any idea what milestones I have reached for this discharge. Do yourself and your family a favor. DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE.

I spent a month at Encompass after a bad fall at home. The care I received was amazing, consistent and truly lifesaving. The staff work as a team with there only goal being meeting the needs of the patient so they can go home. When I returned home I was able to walk, talk and eat, none of which I could do when I arrived. The care at Encompass was amazing.

The greatest help I have had in my recovery. I would highly recommended this place to anyone who needs rehabilitation as they push you to do your best. They will keep you only a few weeks for most cases and trust me in that few weeks they will make you 100% stronger than you came to them.

I was a patient here Mar 7 -16, 2018 and was very impressed with the outstanding care I received. The physical and occupational therapists and their assistants were outstanding. The nurses and techs were top notch. As a nurse who practiced in health care for almost 50 years I know excellent heath care delivery when I experience it. HealthSouth is first class care!

My stay at HealthSouth on N. Wyatt Dr., was great. I found all of the staff to be courteous and very caring about my rehab and treatment. The nursing staff and techs could not have been greater. The Physical and Occupational therapists certainly gave me information to help me recover. The two Doctors were really caring about my pain and progress.

The thearpists, speech and occupational are wonderful, young, caring intelligent U of A grads. The food is not great, but everything else is.Go in there with the right attitude and you will find it the best place you could ever be.

My mothers recent stay at your location, from the first day, we encountered issues at your TMC location. From giving my mother another patient’s diabetic meal, disclosing another patients medical records (I have a picture), trying to change her diet from the doctors/hospital orders to a rude admitting nurse. On the other hand, the staff in the rehab center were excellent, and techs like Yvonne Mazon were terrific. The nursing staff that we encounter most of the time were unfriendly, lacked customer service skills and appeared to be going through the motion of caring for patients. There were several who were better, but the atmosphere of the location lacked luster from the first day of admittance. When you walk along the corridor to the rooms where the pictures of patients are hung, there is not one person of color. Perhaps, that is the staff mixed my mothers food order with another African American patient. Not only that, the nurse called me by the name of the other African American patients daughter. The food choices for patients was boring; the blinds were broken, her bed was old with a call button that has exposed wires. They moved her to the exit wing and dumped her clothes in a wheelchair, when they moved her bed she was so far away from the wall; she couldnt reach the call button. No one should experience this type of service unless this is the service that minorities only receive. We brought our mother there because of your rating, but that was a misnomer. I hope this email serves as a notice that your company needs some turn-around improvements. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my concerns.

Lied to a veterans family about waving doctors fees. Charged thousands of dollars above what is covered by medicare for rehab during first 20 days (which are covered 100% by medicare part a). Wont answer phones or return calls. Gives the run around while more bills appear from who knows how many different places. 15 days with only seeing cnas, occasional nurses, and a couple hours a day with therapists-all of which is covered by medicare. Taking advantage and lying to families during trying times when they are forced to find a place for rehab by the VA is low.

I want to commend my outpatient therapist, Kylie. After she learned I had left my walker behind after a stay at the northwest Encompass facility, she worked together with her fiance, Eamonn, to return my walker to the outpatient facility, where I was able to pick it up. A million thanks to both.Wayne Minana

I have not been happy since the day I arrived to follow my spouse who had been transferred from Sierra Vista. I didnt feel good about the place from the beginning and did not want to leave him. I only left because I was told this was a good facility. He arrived here on Thursday. When I came down on Saturday he told me he was going to leave here. I told him that we couldnt do that and spoke with a case manager and the nursing supervisor. I advised them of what was going on and advised them about why he was upset. Techs openly speaking badly about a patient. He was also upset because his roommate had asked to be helped to bed(after a second stroke) who was still in his chair 50 minutes later my husband then said something and it still took another 15 min for someone to help this gentleman. I myself have stayed three days here with my husband with the understanding that they were trying to facilitate a transfer to Sierra Vista .Then his case manager came in after I questioned where she was and informed me that she had spoken with a facility but they had not requested ins auth and my husband now would not be released because his blood pressure is high. His blood pressure was good yesterday. The stress in this facility he has endured I feel is probably the cause. It is now four PM and we are still here. This facility has been truly detrimental to his health and welfare. It is now 6:28 PM and I found out from my niece who works at the center where we wanted him to sent that they never received anything not even a call which I had asked them to make!

In general, this place has been good for my friend. However, when I arrived yesterday--Saturday--she was crying in frustration. Her meal had been delivered but she is severely disabled and cannot open all the containers and packages that are presented on the meal tray. She had called for help and was told someone would be there shortly but they never came back. I was there for the next hour, helped her to eat her meal, and did not see any personnel during that time. I think weekends may be a risky time to be a patient at HealthSouth!

And then theres the outpatient therapy. Im giving it one star because there was one therapist there who really helped me. But dont try to get her because the office staff will do their best to palm you off on somebody else. I had a different therapist every time I went there until I saw Pratchi and as soon as they figured out she was helping me, they tried to get me to see another unhelpful person. Office staff is officious and incompetent. Billing staff is incompetent. (They told me to call Social Security, myself because they billed wrong and then told me I was wrong when I relayed SSs feedback.) When you are sick and in pain, a little of this goes a real long way.

My nephew was recently there and from the treatment that I heard his family received it was not very pleasant especially when a nurse or tech said the job was just a paycheck, I wouldnt recommend you spend your money in a place that doesnt truly desire to help the patient.
