Dr Pickett diagnosed and was instrumental in first stages of both my knee replacements. He is professional, courteous and personable in his treatment. I have returned to him for other aging issues of ankle and shoulder pains. He remembers who I am after even after a few years have past since last visits. Dr. Prickett is awesome. Broke my clavicle in multiple places and he fixed it up the next day. Surgery was quick, plate is comfortable and immediately felt relief and was able to move my arm without too much pain the next day.Staff was great (friendly and nice to talk to), facility was clean, and everything was done professionally and on schedule. Truly the best surgeon Ive ever dealt with. Unfortunately Ive had multiple surgeries over the years (12 seperate) - twice with Dr. Prickett. You can try to find a negative, but you will only hear of his perfect surgeries. I know what a perfect surgery feels like. Had an unfortunate accident on my family vacation and fully ruptured my distal bicep tendon. Called TOI and they got me in same day and was seen by MD Prickett who scheduled me for surgery 3 days later. The people are very professional, friendly and efficient. They get you into your room and their doctors are willing to sit and talk with you regarding any questions or concerns.

I went in with shoulder pain that had lasted 6 months. Dr. Prickett gave me options for resolving the issue on both the first (diagnostic) and second (followup) visits. The options included least invasive (ibuprofen and physical therapy) to most invasive (surgery, which he did not recommend). I like having information and options and being able to make my own decision with my doctors support. I definitely recommend seeing Dr. Pickett for any shoulder issue.

For the first time I had to wait an hour although their TV Doctor status showed he was ‘on time’. One patient was get quite irritated thinking she was getting passed over.

Dr. Prickett seemed like a good doctor and wanted to give me options based on my lifestyle. But, I probably only got about 5-10 minutes with him...and left feeling kinda confused. Thankfully his scribe took helpful notes I was able to look through at the end of the day. I think it would have been helpful if he had a nurse that went over things before and after with me, if he was overbooked.My overall visit was one of the most disorganized doctors visit I have ever had. I felt like I got tossed around between 6 people without getting a lot of re-iteration about what was going on. The MA was pretty rude and was not happy when I asked any questions. The front desk staff also would not make me a follow up appointment at the other clinic and gave me the wrong number to make it myself..I was told that I would get a call about getting MRIs...I still have yet to get a callI do not remember the East location being this disorganized and not having nurses.

Despite the fact that this is a very busy practice, I was met with a patient and caring staff that paved the way for a great experience with Dr. Prickett. I was seen on time and was given a thorough exam that included three different treatment scenarios. At no point did I feel pressured to choose one option over the others. I left the appointment feeling that my needs had been met administratively and clinically. I absolutely recommend this practice and especially Dr. Prickett!

This is the second injury I had to my right knee. The last doctor I saw for my workmans comp said it was a torn muscle. Dr Pickett with the Tucson Orthopaedic Institute was more thorough and gave me a picture of what actually happened. Now I am better able to focus on the injury which will better enable me to focus on my physical performance in the field and not get injured again.

I get home from my surgery and still under anesthesia and I get a email asking to rate the doctor. Pretty tacky if you ask me. Horrible doctor. Loves to do surgeries and in my case wasnt very skilled at that. Ive had nothing but problems since my straight forward collar bone surgery. The doctor dismisses my complaints on each of my two post op visits. What finally got my goat is after reading the surgical consult I saw nothing but untruths in the report. Basically everything I told him was changed to the opposite. I had almost no pain, good mobility and no problems sleeping. But everything was stated as the opposite perhaps to support surgical intervention? Avoid at all cost.

I have been putting off having my shoulder replacement surgery for 5 years! I went to the emergency room 3 years ago for my arm burning+ swelling + was admitted to the hospital. Dr Shapiro was called+ he operated on my arm. He did a great job! I had seen Dr Prickett 2 yrs earlier for a consult so I was further convinced to go back to Tucson Orthopedic when I finally get my shoulder replaced. My visit was yesterday + I am blown away by the organization of the whole process!! No one rushed me, including Dr Prickett. I asked a lot of questions + was really listened to. Dr. Prickett was very willing to discuss my options for surgery. He was a good listener and provided various opinions pertaining to my personal situation. He was very informative about what surgery involves and whether this was the right time to have it done. Dr. Prickett completely ruined my sons knee. He placed his ACL graft in an incorrect vertical position in his knee causing a very severe flexion contracture. My son couldnt straighten his leg for months post surgery and he kept telling Dr.Prickett that something was wrong, but he would not listen to my son, telling him it was all in his head. My son has since had to undergo 4 surgeries to try and restore normal knee function, but unfortunately he is still in constant daily pain 3 years later. The most appalling thing is how Dr.Prickett and his staff blamed my son for this, telling him that he did not do physical therapy properly. This has been confirmed by multiple surgeons at HSS to be a complete lie, and that Dr.Pricketts negligence directly caused his complications, and the lack of quick intervention post surgery has directly caused the long term damage to his knee. Dr.Prickett and his staff should be ashamed of themselves.

Dr. Prickett took the time to explain my MRI, type of surgery required and best options going forward. It was the information I needed to make the best decision.

My initial experience started out very negatively but I was able to speak with the right person and things turned around to be only positive. I see they only reply to decent reviews to pat themselves on the back. But Ive never had such a bad experience with a doctor in my life. He was very dismissive with me and my injury from the first visit. I had an MRI done and when the results came back he told me I Have to learn to live with it ignored what I had to say about the treatments Ive had in the past that improved my injury and mid way talking to him he just went out the door to the next patient and had a nurse bring my paperwork and told me my appointment was done. A huge waste of time and money.

Their is so much good to say about my experience beginning with parking, which is very spacious. The greeters at the reception desk are truly the BEST and were eager to assist in my visit and everyone in this area was very cheerful and accommodating. My wait time after meeting the greeter to have my vitals checked was less than 5 minutes, this didnt take long at all and I was walking to the doctors area promptly. Again my wait was less than 5 minutes to see the doctor and Dr. Prickett was very happy and always smiling and also interested in why I was there and I felt very comfortable that he was truly interested in my personal health and provided various options for me to address my current health condition. We talked about various options and together we agreed on an option which was promptly acted upon. The MA was terrific in accommodating the doctor request and had my paper work in order immediately. Out processing was truly amazing. I left TOI feeling very pleased with the doctors recommendation/actions and overall was happy with the entire staff/associates. Conclusion: if your looking for the BEST orthopaedic doctor, doctor Prickett is honestly my only recommendation. He is the BEST in the West and more than likely the rest of the US.
