Dr. Amitab Puri PURPOSELY ORDERS UNNECESSARY TESTS and LABS. He is GREEDY and GLUTONOUS. He is the highest paid pulmonologist in the state of Arizona for a reason. HE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. He has a horrible reputation among doctors in Tucson. Go to any other lung / sleep doctor in Tucson. Theres one down the street. Trust me.

Dr. Puri was very engaging. Gave me understandable explanation of my condition.I came away with good information that I can use to help me self treat myself.....Thanks again.

My appt was 11:00am I was out at 11:44. He was very nice and informative. The waiting room was packed and made a little nervous but I was in and out. The front desk they seemed fine to me.

My husband and I both see Dr. Puri, he is very professional and thorough. His staff is outstanding. We just cant imagine the bad ratings.

We went to this mad man office. The medical assistant was not very friendly. Then saw Dr. Puri, everything was going fine until an answer he wanted was not given right and he hit his desk with the pen and threw a tantrum. We went up to the front desk and told the secretary that he was inappropriate and unprofessional and didnt wanted to continue his services. He requested a lot of unnecessary tests. If you are looking for a good Dr. Dont come here.

I am SO grateful to Dr. Puri for his care of me. Some specifics: 1. In the past, I’ve filled out so many multi-page forms about medical history that have been largely ignored. For my first appointment, Dr. Puri had reviewed the information and even begun formulating hypotheses about what might be causing my health issues. This impressed me. 2. While Dr. Puri confirmed his hypotheses with appropriate testing, he noted that my asthma symptoms, sleep apnea and difficulty breathing had more to do with my acid reflux than with my lungs. He was the first to diagnose this. 3. Dr. Puri provided me with information about treatment options and encouraged me in seeking that treatment. (The treatment I sought was very successful. I no longer have breathing difficulties, sleep apnea, nor asthma symptoms.). 4. Dr. Puri shows his interest and commitment to his family by displaying his children’s art throughout his office. I appreciate his appreciation of his family. It makes him very human.

Dr. Puri is really friendly and knowledgeable . Answered all the questions and explained well . The only negative was a long wait time but I guess every doctor’s office has that . Highly recommend him for any respiratory issues .

These guys have NO respect for your time. My second and last visit here. Waited in excess of an hour each time. Cant say for sure if this is a competent doctor but completely in competent about scheduling.

The worst place ever. This is my second go around with this office in about 9 years. Got feelings hurt when I was told I was fat (185 lbs) that thats why I suffer from a sleeping disorder. SMH. Second time around nothing still has not changed. First of all they had me go for a sleep study out in Green valley guy was super nice. Then THEY schedule your appointments/procedures for you. I had to reschedule most of the time. I lived 12 miles from their office. One visit a 5 minute EKG. Next visit for a 20 minute walking stress test which that guy was super nice we talked mostly about the office, then 3-4 days later a breathing test that probably dont take more than 20 minutes, 3-4 days later some other test that is probably also 20 minutes. Did not go to those. Either forgot because they do not do reminder calls or no gas. Each and every time billing the insurance. I completely stopped going to much driving and gas. Why they cant schedule that ALL in one day, Like most places do, is beyond me. I asked my doctor for another referral to go somewhere else. I will never recommend this place to anyone

They deleted my comment. I want it to be known that Dr Puri is an absolute scam artist and charlatan. He should be reported to the medical board. I went to another pulmonalogist who said the test and treatment he provided me was due to greed and the fact that he’s just trying to capitalize on these extra test. This doctor likes to make fun of peoples weight and make assumptions but he is overweight himself. I’ve heard this from other patients as well.

Not only did one of the staff argue with me over how a medication I took was spelled and pronounced (she had never heard of it), right before she was chastised by the doctor in front of me for making a huge records mistake, but the Doctor MADE FUN OF MY MENTAL ILLNESS. He asked what I had and immediately laughed and said “whoa-haha. I better not make you mad!” I’m disabled partly due to my mental illness. I struggle everyday with medical “professionals” judging me but this was inexcusable.Then they messed up on my billing.NEVER SEE THIS DOCTOR.

They should be out of business. How can there be this many complaints about the same stuff and nothing is being done. The worst and honestly most illegal place ever. They submit claims with back dates because the office staff is so far behind. BTW the front office staff is all related to him which is why they can be horrible to patients and get away with it. Dr. Puri doesnt even care because ultimately his wife runs that office and placing complaints is complaining about her. Wish I knew where to complain to get them in serious trouble. I mean insurance fraud for one. Arent there places governing this dr. They even lost my husbands chip from his sleep machine and then said oh well when they couldnt find it. Excellent Doctor dealing with sleep disorders. He shows lots of concern for his patients and has help me see the danger of certain treatment I wish I had the chance to meet him years ago then the things I went through would not have happened. I have taken his advice and now I am on my way to a new life thanks to Doctor Puri and his group of doctors. If your insurance allows you to be able to go to Doctor Puri for lung and sleep problems consider Doctor Puri you definitely will not go wrong I can testify to this I like to add this comment the staff in his office are not reliable an appointment was set up for a Sleep Study and it was canceled because the person had an accident but they were supposed to call and reschedule that was in March I called several times now and no one return the call or reschedule so although the doctor is excellent he really needs to check his staffI like to add to my comment an additional thought I know the office staff has a lot to be desired but now I think they take their attitude from the doctors while I was waiting for my insurance to change so I could return back to Dr. Puri I was going to Banner Sleep Study so when everything was in order I return to Doctors office and had a hard time getting an appointment on the phone so I made a trip to the office and finally got my update and the appointment. The visit after the exam determined I needed a sleep study couple hours before the study it was canceled and I never received a call back to reschedule in fact I never heard from them again. I went to my appointment back to Banner and the head doctor said everything was perfect and he had never seen such a good report. I asked him about a sleep study and he said that wasn’t necessary unless I just wanted to give him money with my record it wasn’t needed. With the comments from Banner in put me in question whether Dr Puri is really a good doctor or one that just wants to make money. I’ll leave that question up to each individual person who may be looking for a qualified sleep study doctors

This Dr Puri needs to go back to Medical school. Lack of knowledge and professionalism. Thank God I found another pulmonologist. Don’t waste your time, money and more important your HEALTH. He scammed me with so many tests I didn’t even need, charged my insurance a fortune, plus all copays and the worst part was that He diagnosed me with something totally wrong. He never looked at the tests done either. When I talk about it with other doctors they laugh. I can’t believe this person holds a medical license. It’s dangerous. Please follow my advice and see a real professional. Not a scam artist.

Ive been to a few other sleep specialist. These people rock! Very professional,and made me feal at home. Dr Puri is the best and he knows what he is doing. Also a high five to BIll the sleep study nurse. I just need to say this, these people saved my life thanks.

Horrible. They farm out their initial consultation call to India. You are literally speaking to someone who does not have a firm grasp of english in a call center asking you questions you could have easily filled out on a form in 10-15 minutes. The call takes 45 minutes...with every question having to be repeated twice..and you dont even know if the person is understanding what you are saying.HORRIBLE. And this is your initial contact with this place. They care that much. They farm it out. I am immediately canceling my appointment right after I post this.

I am a disabled veteran that was referred by the VA to Dr Puri. Their administrative practices do not include that you MUST complete their verbal history BEFORE your appointment. I was called and tried repeatedly to get through their voicemail system and left hanging on hold for 45 minutes over three separate calls without speaking with anyone. They then told me that because it was MY fault that I did not complete their process, that my appointment was cancelled. Find another solution, unless Dr Puri takes personal interest in his front office processes, you wont get to see him, EVER!

They scheduled me 4 weeks out, with no sooner appointments offered. On the day of my appointment they called me at 7:30am to cancel it, when i called back they were not open, apparently they do not open until 8am. So why call me to tell me to call you back if I cant!? Then when i called at 8am they told me they had not recieved my medical records yet but expected them that day. You had a month and never contacted me there was an issue, So I rescheduled for 2 days later. I called them back the next day to see if my records had come in and they hadnt but was told they would call me back in 20 minutes to let me know what the issue was..5 hours later they still had not called. On the day of the rescheduled appointment they called me and again canceled on me. They are rude, unprofessional, and I had my Primary Doctor refer me to another sleep specialist.

I was very surprised to see negative reviews here. From day one, Ive had a great experience with Pima Lung & Sleep. They were able to see me 3 months sooner than other sleep doctors and everything was a breeze. If I had one complaint, its that the beds in the sleep lab arent big enough for someone of my size (6-6) but Im sure you see the irrationality of that as well.As a side note, I ran into Dr. Puri in a grocery store parking lot one day about a week after my original consultation. He came up to me, asked how I was doing, and offered to help me unload my groceries into my vehicle. I can honestly say that something like that has never happened to me before and it just meant the world to me. Just goes to show what kind of person is tending to your healthcare.

Please read if you dont want to fall into this mans trap!First review Ive every written but I just couldnt let this go by unperceived. This doctor scammed my mother into having a bunch of unnecessary tests!!! She went from appointment to appointment just to get a useless test. He forced my mother into getting treated for a condition she did NOT have and he knew it!! Had I been there and known I wouldve put this to a stop immediately! He is a disgusting, arrogant, repulsing human being that takes advantage of people. This is someone you cannot trust! This guy is a con man not a doctor! Just thinking about how many other people have and are being taken advantage of by this guy makes my blood boil. If he is your current doctor leave him now before you end up getting dropped by your insurance and broke! For those of you considering seeing him save yourselves and others! Please spread the word on him! The staff is also terrible but I honestly feel sympathy towards them because of how awfully he treats his staff. Thank goodness my mother told me about this she is often one to keep to herself but this clearly was too much for her to handle.

This practice is disastrously mismanaged. Ive been to see them 5 times over the last 8 months. I have never been seen in a timely manner even once. Theyre always at least an hour behind, sometimes more. Ive tried to provide feedback but they just brush off any attempt to have an honest discussion. I had a sleep study done with them but I have not received any results. They cancelled the appointment to receive the results and a treatment. Avoid this practice at all costs. They arent worth your time or money.

If there was an option, I would give it no stars. The staff here is so unprofessional and inefficient. Total wasted 2 days of work for me. Who knows what the doctors is like. After 2 scheduled appts we never made it back to see him. Not to mention, the patient questionnaire (over the phone) conducted buy someone who could barley speak English. Should take 1/2 hr but took over an hour because they are so hard to understand the question and answers have to be repeated. This experience has been ridiculous. Dont waste your time, even it it means waiting for months to see another doctor. Im sure it would be worth it!! I should have trusted the bad reviews that were already posted. Live and learn.

This is an absolutely awful place. Horrible experience after horrible experience! The office staff are THE most rude and disrespectful people I’ve ever encountered in all my life. The person who answers the phone for new appts option is so rude and belligerent. Talks down to you, doesn’t listen to you, never apologizes for their mistakes. Blames mistakes on someone else. She cut me off numerous times on the phone, I couldn’t even finish my sentence. I waited for the dr for 2 hours, 1 hr in waiting room, then 1 hr in room. Then some other guy, a Dr. ? that I’ve never met before comes in and starts talking to me about my sleep study results that I waited 3 wks to have that appt for. It was rushed, he didnt know my case or history and didn’t explain all the other 4 separate tests I had to take off work for. They lie, Follow up appts were never scheduled after telling me they would. Had to call them several times and every time the hateful disrespectful person who answers the phone treated me so rudely like it was my fault or something and talked to me so irritated and blamed another office. This happened to me 2 diff times. They lie and say they did the task but they never did, and then blame another office. Please trust ALL these bad reviews, it’s all true! You deserve to be treated with politeness and respect especially for the money that this Dr. must be getting for every patient. DON’T GO THERE!

I found the office staff to be unprofessional at best. The doctor talked to me as if I was 5 years old instead of a college graduate. The sleep study was the worst! Ive had several and this one was so bad I never returned for the results! It was an abysmal experience to say the least!!!

They dont care about their patiance I been waiting on a med refill for a week they claim the pharmacy never fax it I have checked w the pharmacy n they have showed me the log of faxes to request a refill starting on 11/11/15 now they claim the Dr is out of office till the 30th and there is no one that can sign the refill. But they got someone to sighn off on one other medication, They have a 73 yr old lady suffering because they are to lazy to do their job. I guess its time ofter 6 yrs to find a new doctor someone that actually cares...

They treat their patients and staff poorly, curse and yell at staff in front of patients and only waste patients time for them to go in for a consultation for money. Their number one priority is and always has been money. They dont care about the patients health at all. HIPAA laws are constantly being broken inside that hell hole. You can never find any charts in there and theyre constantly losing medical records. The system is so unorganized and none of the staff knows how to do their job because Dr. Puri wife makes every employer do 3 peoples job because everyone is constantly quitting or getting fired. Do yourself a favor and go to Phoenix or anywhere else for your pulmonary or sleep apnea problems. I wouldnt recommend Dr.Puri to my worst enemy.
