DO NOT GO HERE. My friends and I signed up to do a private tennis lesson for the three of us and we’re told the cost would be $103. On the phone we asked SEVERAL times confirming that would be the grand total and not the total for each of us (there was 3 of us so we clarified it would be $34 for each of us for a total of $103 not $103 for each of us) in which the girl on the phone confirmed all times asked it was $103 as a grand total. We did the lesson, went to pay at the end. She took all of our cards, didn’t confirm the price and didn’t give any of us receipts. I looked at my bank account the next day to see I ALONE was charged $103!!!!! Same with my other two friends when we had explicitly been told we would only be charged $34 each. We called the following day and spoke with a manager who apologized that the girl misinformed us and then did not tell us the charge day of or give a receipt, but then said too bad and that he couldn’t refund or do anything because the money goes directly to the coach. He literally told us on the phone it was his employees fault and mistake but that he was not going to do anything to rectify the situation or the fact they scammed us into paying over $200 extra. I will NEVER go here again and make sure no one I know does!!!! Absolute worst general service, professionalism, and customer service I have ever seen.

Ive been a member for over four years and this place has gone downhill. I understand Covid has hit many businesses, but at the very least if you are going to cut hours and classes a discount should be offered. They close at 4pm on the weekends and there are at least 1/3 of the classes that used to be offered. Their response to this is I can take a class that is offered to the public for free at Harbor Point or in a local park. I spent 15 minutes going in circles with their member services to be told I can expect a full class schedule in 2022 and normal hours in the fall.

Classy gym, respectful gym goers and quality equipment but an It is an absolute joke that they close at 4pm on the weekends. You’re already opening late for a gym at 8am, but closing at 4pm is egregious. I am eager to understand the logic here.

I absolutely abhor this facility. I moved to Stamford January 2020, joined this gym in February, and was there the night it closed in March for Covid. I work with children and as a nanny have not been able to go back to gyms (as per family orders) as well as moving around / traveling with these families privately. I left my membership frozen for the entire year in hopes I’d return. I ended up moving and was told if it’s over 25 miles, according to my contract, it could be cancelled without a fee. Now it’s March 2021, I MOVED almost 30 miles away from Stamford (WITH PROOF) and they are refusing to let me cancel my membership without a $300 fine... as if Covid, employment, and moving is my fault. Never again! God awful experience.. scammers

For the amount of money they charge it is absurd that they do not enforce re racking weights and equipment. Why even re-rack their weights if they arent even risking penalizacion? Its not their problem. To the best interest of their respectful members it is best thats they enforce these types of people to comply with the most basic expectation or they are no different from any sub par gym. Also have no respect for their consistent members... continue to raise rates almost every year without exception to long-time members. If they choose to raise the rates say 5-10 dollars that would be fine as they will no longer be receiving about $2,500 for the next years membership.

This is a long going issue....I have had multiple issues with the Staff at Chelsea Piers CT, specifically the Membership advisement.I had a medical issue & was in the hospital for a few months during this time. Now I had my girlfriend as well on the membership & I had paid this for over a year & prior was a single member & prior to that my father had a family membership. We have spent thousands of dollars...I have referred 5 members to Chelsea Piers CT & have build long term relationships with many people who attend the facility from business to recreational association & friendships.I had asked for forgiveness on 3 months of family membership with Fernanda and I & was denied.I had just went through my personally issues and needed to get back into the gym. Somewhere I consider a comfortable place for me to regress & digest life. Now I had since left & moved on to another facility ... Because of individuals who are currently membership of CPCT asking me to stop by frequently I had dropped by & figured I can work something out.I had a balance due & I had made the full payment so we can go about restoring a membership.A director of the facility rejected this request. This gym has grown & it’s great to see..I would love to be apart of this growth .I’m looking forward to here your final decisionThis place is a 5 Star gym , only rated 1 star dueto not welcoming me back with understand .

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The management staff do not care about your needs or complains. All they care is blame you (clients) for problems. This is applies to main office and tennis director. I dont want to write all issues I had with them, but after I removed my kids from this facility their game went up in a short time, and they play with appropriate level of kids, not beginners (as I was told by CP tennis director after 5 years playing tennis in CP ). Beware, your kids can be easily underestimate by director and nothing you can do just paying all those fees for membership, private lessons and clinics. I wish I could receive refund for all the money I spent with tennis facility for five years, if my kids still on the beginner level ( it is must be 30,000$ at least if it not more) As I learned from other parents, tennis director cares more about his kids tennis game, not your kids. The rest of the facility is OK. Fitness center can be overcrowded, some members have no problem to dry their smelly snickers in the sauna, which makes this place disgusting. Parking during weekend is a jungle, especially when some tournaments scheduled. Overall after being a family member for five years I received bad attitude towards me and my kids by main office manager, where in the end it was my kids fault for not playing good enough for the tennis director. I am glad to be out of this place, as CP recreational tennis should cost much less money, but not what they are charging. As for my kids, they enjoy other club, where coaches and director truly care about my kids and they became top players after 4 month.

Its a nice facility especially if you have kids and want to get them involved in various sports. I personally used their pool and free weights facility. The pool is wonderful and they have nice locker rooms. The athletic center is large but even still at certain times its way to crowded in the weights area and you end up waiting to use certain machines. Thats not unique to this gym though, you have to pick the times you go.My real complaint was when I went to cancel my account. I was cancelling because I had to move work locations and had access to a gym at work. Even though I cancelled before the next billing cycle their policy is as follows:Please note, all cancellation request require 1 additional billing once the form is received (equivalent to 30 day notice). By submitting your cancellation on October 22nd, 2018, you will be responsible for November Dues.As a customer who enjoyed their facilities this was really disappointing. It doesnt take 30 days to cancel an account and isnt a massive burden on their staff. Its a pure money making policy. Disappointing and as a result even if I needed a gym again I wouldnt come back because of this. Just bad client service to do something like this.In summary great facilities, nice staff, frustrating membership policies.

Just signed up about a week ago. So far I’ve had a great time. The facility is incredible and well worth the price if you can take advantage of everything. Just going to the gym and taking a few classes breaks even. I’ve taken classes, used the gym and indoor track so far. The trainers in the classes are polite and keep you motivated. The gym is extremely clean and everything is well maintained. It never gets that crowed, sure you might need to work around some people but nothing you wouldn’t have to do at any other gym. I looked at other gyms and nothing in the area compares to CP. Parking has not been an issue, I go both in the am and pm, always get a good spot. They have a members parking area where you have to show your id, if needed. The locker rooms and also very clean, lots of products( hair gel, mouth wash, shaving etc) available as well as locks on all lockers.

About a month ago, the CPCT athletic club sold me a set of private training sessions (in my case, a reformer pilates) for $1,000 in a well-lit, clean, private room. After I paid, they moved the equipment/sessions to a dank hallway next to the fire escape, on a different floor. There was no consultation ahead of time. I was disappointed with this development, although I love the actual trainer. I should mention, the sports facility in general is absolutely world class.UPDATEI was very pleased to get a call today that the gym has ordered a partition for their pilates class studio, so that those clients who have purchased private training can have those sessions in a private setting. The club is also offered me several complimentary sessions for my inconvenience.I appreciate the clubs effort to make amends, when a mistake was made.Thank you.

Little Athletes Zone Mania: this gym offers parents a small gym / play area for toddlers to play BUT BEWARE IT IS NOT TRUE. Beware that children over 5 are permitted entry, many times there isn’t a facility monitor watching over keeping things safe for the “5 and under” kids. It is extremely unsafe as the big kids charge through the entire play area in full speed (ages 7 through early teens). Perhaps their parents aren’t aware of the age limit or as I’ve witnessed simply don’t care as they text away. (Tip: place a sign letting parents know they need to sign in & inform them of the age limit). Really shocking after so many months being a member they haven’t done one thing to keep babies safe. Shame on you Chelsea Piers CT you’ve been unfair to the toddlers & patient parents.

I am a new member of the Chelsea Piers Connecticut and I hate to think that I have to spend my time writing this review today but I’m absolutely sure that thing can be improved and problems can be solved only if you talk about it.Today I came at Chelsea Piers around 6:15 am, I wanted to play some squash cause it’s the only time I could come today and I know that courts are absolutely empty early in the morning. The fitness center was closed which surprised me because I checked google maps before coming and it said CP is open from 6 today. Ok, my bad, I had no idea it had different hours. And here I ran into Tatiana, the lady from front desk. I told her I wanted to use the squash courts and asked if she could help with switching on the light (the light is always off when I come early in the morning). She said: “give me one second” and left. 15 minutes passed, Tatiana was minding her own business at the front desk area, I was still sitting, waiting for her to come back to me. When I realized she wasn’t going to come back I approached to the front desk myself and asked what was going on? And then she says that the building is not open till 7 (she showed me the screen of her computer) and I have to wait for another half an hour! So she knew she couldn’t help me and I can’t get in now, but she didn’t bother herself to come and tell me that. Ofc, I understand that! Why treat me well? Why value my time? Who am I? Just some client, paying 220 dollars a month plus my sons classes fee, who came at 6 am instead of 7 by mistake. Not to worry about me! A lot of stuff to do at 6:30 am! Like for example, chatting with a colleague instead of dealing with a stupid client who can not even remember the fitness center hours.Very disappointing :(But this is not even the end of the story.I asked Tatiana why she made me wait for so long if she already knew she couldn’t help, why didn’t she come back to me? I told her that this is not the attitude I expected. She answered“I understand” in the most unpleasant intonation one can ever imagine, turned her side to me and started to smile to someone else showing that she is done with me and that she doesn’t care about me at all.I didn’t leave and asked for her name. She IGNORED me and my question!!! I had to ask 3 TIMES befor I got her answer. And here is the answer: WHY EXACTLY YOU WANT MY NAME FOR? That’s what she said. Shocked. I didn’t know to laugh or to cry 🙈 I told her that I was going to leave my review about this situation. After that at last she told me her name and I left, upset and disappointed.Honestly, there are a lot of jobs for ppl who don’t like other ppl, but this is most certainly not a front desk of the most expensive sport center in Stamford. Is the nice attitude too much to ask for? May be I’m stupid but I expect ppl to come back to me when they say “give me one second”. May be I’m stupid but I expect ppl to be kind and say they are sorry that they couldn’t help me. May be I’m stupid but I expect ppl value my time when I spend around 500 dollars per month in their sport center. This situation is nothing. If only she was nice and said “ oh I’m so sorry but I can’t help you right now, could you please wait for 20 minutes until the courts will be open?” I would answer: Of course! Not a problem at all! Have a good day! It’s all about ppl being nice and kind to each other. Nothing is perfect. Everybody can make a mistake. Who cares for such a tiny things in life when everyone is being helping and welcoming? I wouldn’t even think about it for a second. But now I do. My day is ruined, I feel upset and offended by Tatiana’s attitude.I felt so happy I bought this membership and It was such a pleasure to come to CP every time! Not anymore tho. Not anymore :/P.s. I forgot to mention that this is a 3rd time a see Tatiana being not nice to ppl. That’s also why I decided to spend my time writing this review. It happened with a girl I know who came for a trial gymnastics class with her son. And also to ppl that I don’t know, I saw it while waiting in the line.

In advance this review only applies to the Gymnastics Dept. my child has been enrolled in the gymnastics program for about 2 1/2 years and this will be her last year. I myself or my husband has attended every class so I’m speaking from 1st hand knowledge!Ann as the gymnastics director is ok but it’s evident that she’s stressed and at times downright overwhelmed. She’s rarely found showing CONSISTENT interest in any other program aside from the girls in the Excel program. Even as I type this she hasn’t checked in with any of the other classes. When one is a director their presence should be felt everywhere not just in specific areas. There are different teachers weekly, now I don’t know if it’s due to call outs or what but nevertheless, when there are different teachers how can a child be developed in their week areas as the covering teacher has no knowledge of that child and their capabilities or lack there of. My daughter has been with this company as I stated 2 1/2 years and she cannot do a backflip, she still struggles on the bars and has yet to successfully complete a backhand roundhouse....why is that? I have along with other parents shared my frustrations and the expectations we have for this establishment to no avail. I commute from Monroe CT every week to Stamford for my daughter to receive subpar gymnastic instructions.Don’t get me wrong there are some amazing instructors in here that are committed and it’s evident. I wholeheartedly appreciate them and their efforts. However consistency is key here guys!In closing, when I 1st chose Chelsea piers...I picked this place thinking my child would be developed because hey, after all it is Chelsea piers and of course they’re the best right?! But after 2 1/2 years I give up because I’m fed up. It’s not cheap to send your child here...I expected more consistency, installation of values and dedication to my child and unfortunately this just isn’t the place for that.

We recently had our child’s birthday party here and we’re extremely disappointed in the quality of their service and at this time do not recommend to other parents. We worked with Harry the director for the booking. The staff that managed the party were college kids which is fine but they are trained very poorly and seemed like they had no interest in the job at all or had partied too hard the night before. It was clear they did not want to be there and could care less about our daughter having an enjoyable birthday. The decorations we requested didn’t match in color and the light bulbs flickered the entire party, the staff didn’t care and shrugged. The space is drab and ugly so there is absolutely no way you can get it looking decent in the 30 minutes of allotted time of which the staff showed up ten minutes late and were completely useless and did nothing to help us at all, beyond frustrating. They didn’t even know how or care to work the sound system to play some background music so we struggled with that awkwardly as parents were walking in. Thankfully there was no party before ours so we had one hour to setup and had family to help otherwise this would have been an unmitigated disaster of a party. The staff did nothing during the kids play time and barely supervised and two of the kids ended up getting injured including our daughter. We ended our time in the bounce house early because everyone was bored after 30 minutes. When it couldn’t get any worse, with 20 minutes left in our booking they started taking down our decorations (that they did nothing to setup) with all the families still sitting eating and celebrating- very embarrassing. We were livid with them and they stopped and stood by until our party ended at the agreed upon time before breaking everything down. This was a very very poor overall experience, absolutely not worth the money and will recommend to parents to evaluate other venues first before considering chelsea piers for a birthday. We expect Harry to follow up with us immediately to offer an apology and make this situation right because we feel we’re taken advantage of on saturday.U. Dharia - 130PM 2/23/18 Birthday Party

I played in the mens basketball league so that is what I am reviewing.Pros: The facilities are great, this is one of a limited number of leagues in the area individuals can sign up for (most you need to register a team for)Cons: The stats taken were very poor (often inaccurate), jerseys were not given to everyone causing problems throughout the season, the schedule of games on a particular day were changed on that day (making it so youd have to constantly check if you still had a game or had a game that day or youd miss the game), prices were the highest for any league in the area (and rose the next season), it was hard to reach head of league (Brian Bertucci)Overall a very neutral experience. There were some good refs and one horrible one. My advice to them is to either find a new league coordinator or lighten the load on the current one so he can better take care of this role; planning games, making sure jerseys are ordered, ect. My advice to players is to check out other leagues before automatically signing up for this one, although it wasnt the worst league Id played in.

I give this place 3 stars for all that it offers. However, it does nothing and offers no incentives at all for the immediate community which I think is ridiculous but it does offer incentives to the big businesses and brand new condos on the Southend of Stamford again which i think is ridiculous. A water park for 20 an hour? What child goes to a water park for an hour? Id like to meet the genius that thought of this. I think that they should make it a little more affordable for the LOCAL COMMUNITY (that has many children who can and would benefit from their programs) rather than a RICH EXPENSIVE CONDO COMPLEX ACROSS TOWN OR BUSINESSES THAT HAVE THEIR OWN FACILITIES. You should get statistics on the economics of the community surrounding your facility and price a little more affordable for the LOCAL RESIDENCE or set up a package and/or specials specific to the needs and budgets for the surrounding community. Im just saying if your in OUR Community then maybe you should support and give back in OUR community. I called regarding a family membership and it is absolutely impossible to afford with living cost and raising children.

C.P. has incredible yoga, pilates, and fitness classes for every level and the value is tremendous if you take multiple classes per week like we do since you can take unlimited walk in classes. In house childcare is top notch! My 2 yr old never wants to leave. The splash zone indoor waterpark is awesome for kids especially during the long winter months. The people/services/ facilities are world class and I would highly recommend to anyone whos actually going to use them. Paying x3 cost of other gyms, you would expect better quality as well.Pro - Equipment is pretty new, decent locker rooms, food bar with healthy but expensive options.Cons - Free weights are not readily available during busy hours, bar plates are not well organized, expensive membership, classes and use of certain facilities will cost you extra, poor gym culture (felt like I was working out at Abercrombie ), pop music in background with most people in the gym seem to just be lazily sitting around looking at their phones.Overall, I dont want to say its a bad gym but I cant say that it provides any more value than other gyms in the area. CP seems to dedicate most of their time and efforts to corporate events or youth camps, not that that is a bad thing but not what I personally want for a gym.I also was interested in setting up a basketball team but a friend who works a CP said that the leagues were not worth joining unless your company was coving the cost. (seems consistant with other reviews here)

Massive, family friendly facility. Expensive, but you are getting the best Stamford has to offer.

Tons of activities, good staff, tons of parking.

Im basing this purely on the guest services staff. They are tremendously disrespectful. Their customer service is non-existent and frankly frightening. The parking accommodations are already an annoyance and to top it off with a couple of imbecIles is inexcusable.

Its a great facility, but they charge a lot of incrementals which is frustrating considering it is already very pricey.
