My daughter made an appointment for her senior prom. She texted Nelly a picture of what she wanted. When she showed up on a Friday at 1:00..no one was there, door locked and lights out. My daughter called Nelly. She answered and said “I can’t talk now” and hung up. A few days later we stopped in to see Nelly. She lied and said she didn’t have our #! DON’T TRUST NELLY!

I have going to Nelly’s Salon for over 7 years. Her and the staff are always nice and friendly. I would recommend her to Men, Women and children for haircuts and salon services. A true gem in Stamford and Reasonably priced

Not sure if this was just a REALLY bad day for Nellie (sorry but not an excuse if youre a professional) but had the most horrible bizarre haircut experience of my life, I never write reviews but HAD to share. She was the only one in there (came at 430 on a Monday) and we started off with friendly conversation since it was my first time there. I asked if shes usually got other staff/ if everyone went home due to the bad weather, she freaked out on me and started asking how I would feel if she asked how many boyfriends or husbands or kids I have, and that it was none of my business and has nothing to do with her cutting my hair. OK..was just trying to make conversation. It got worse and worse, she did some initial face framing and then asked me what I thought, I wasnt sure and asked her thoughts on what worked well with my face/if we could do some more layers to blend it bc it was quite choppy (I Come to a hair stylist for those opinions?). She again got mad and aggressive and said it wasnt her job to give me 5 haircuts, and I needed to tell her exactly what I wanted right now. She handed me the hairbrush aggressively and told me to do it. She then pulled my hair and said I hate you Spanish people you are so annoying with your hair (Im not spanish, I just speak spanish so I told her I understood when she tried speaking spanish around me). and then she said I hate this as she TUGGED on my hair. At which point she was halfway thru cutting my hair so I felt super uncomfortable and also didnt want to leave , so I just told her she didnt need to be so aggressive / rude and hoped she wouldnt go chop crazy! After continuing to make me super uncomfortable with her hostile attitude throughout the whole haircut, she tried to sweet talk me at the end by saying she could do any color service and I should come back for that / do it now. NO THANK YOU!BTW this cost me 65$ (yes I still tipped 10 ontop of the 55 because I have a conscience), and she literally took 10 minutes to trim my hair, and 10 minutes to dry it - was still damp / not even fully blow dryed when I left. Spent more time hassling me and making rude comments than actually working on my hair!Safe to say Im never going back there again!! Weirdest experience and horrible customer service!See photos for her idea of “face framing” ! 🤦🏻‍♀️

1st time visit and Nelly is fantastic. Showed her a pic of the cut I wanted and she came thru perfectly. Nelly is so sweet! Will definitely be having her as my permanent hair stylist.

I had made an appointment to cut my 1-year-old babys hair, when I was outside the premises I called to say that I was already outside but there was no answer. My husband went to the local and she from inside said not today. It is not professional to do this.

I recently moved to the area and have not been able to get a good haircut until I found Nelly Salon. Not only are they very skilled, but they also offer such a great value. You also get a full wash after and razor shape ups. Go Monday-Wednesday for a discount!!! Id give them 6 stars if I could!

She burnt my eyebrow. I have missing skin. She denied it and said that it’s just sensitive. I know I have sensitive skin and I know what it normally looks like after waxing. She ripped off my skin.

Great place, great service, and great people. Nelly and Diamond were very accomodating, skilled, and nice to talk to while getting our hair cut and dyed.The both of them did great work - if youre looking for a new salon, give them a try. Definitely recommend.

$65 for a wash, cut, and blow out. Cecilia did an amazing job on my hair and I will definitely be back! Would definitely recommend.

Nelly has worked on my hair for many years...I recently moved out of state in January and miss her talent...she does good work on thick straight hair...very clean salon too...convenient location with plenty of parking

2 days ago my daughter & I went for trim’s to Nelly’s, my hairdresser of many years broke her left hand & I was in need of a trim. When we arrived there were 2 women currently cutting hair, approximately 5 mins after are arrival my daughter was seated for her cut during her wash the other woman who turned out to be Nelly was with a young man, at that point he leapt from his seat mumbled something about going to High Ridge grabbed his coat & proceeded to leave without paying.I was shocked & had never witnessed this before. I consoled Nelly telling her he probably was looking for a free cut. I was then shown to a chair, shortly after I started to realize something was up with Nelly she was acting oddly I had a sick sense of foreboding at first I thought alcohol but after observing I came to the conclusion she had definitely taken pills. At this time she had already started to what I can only call a hack job. I was getting upset & told her the cut was fine I just wanted to leave. She then rang me out & tried to charge $165.00 for a child & a woman’s cut it was listed as $25 for a child & $55 for adult I couldn’t believe this was happening to me I told her, here is $100.00, 25 for my daughter 55 for me & 20 for the tip, & left. I debated writing any review but my hair looks like a 5 year old cut it & I only hope she gets the help she so obviously needs.

Sweet people, but quality of men’s haircut is low, especially at $30. Needs a LOT of improvement to justify those prices.

Had an appointment, when I arrived I was told I would have to wait 15-20 minutes, not sure what the point of taking appointments is if they dont honor them. Let without a hair cut and wont be going back.
