Dr Ko seems like a very professional and polite orthopaedic surgeon. I was booked to have an arthroscopy of my left shoulder with him and unfortunately that is as far as it went. His assistant, Kira, was unfortunately very dismissive, telling me to call the front desk, being reception, and ignoring e-mails. Its arrogant to feel that you do not have to answer emails or phone messages and that clients should chase after you.I then followed up those e-mails by pointing out that I not had a reply to the e-mails and asking her if the operation was still going ahead. I received no reply to even that e-mail! I eventually had to phone the reception to be put through to Kira and left a message for her on her voicemail. A few hours later when she still had not returned that voice message, which detailed to her that she had not replied to me on any of the e-mails and that I was very concerned about that, I phoned and was put through to her. So she was in the office and of course could have phoned me back or made an effort to reply to my e-mails, but did not. I can only say that she had a very condescending tone and her whole attitude was basically if I felt unhappy about it, to the extent that I should cancel the procedure, then I should do so. I must say at that point I unfortunately really lost my cool, told her that she was no doubt costing the doctor a lot of money, because I can only imagine what has gone on with other operations for him that she is meant to schedule and on the basis of dealing with her I would then cancel the operation.I think that Dr Ko will have to look at his support staff, because you cannot have people treating your patients in the way she treated me and without raising an absolute stink there was no way to get hold of Dr Ko. In fact, Kira’s supervisor was perfectly fine, when I suggested to her that I might need to write a Google review, to bring this to the attention of Dr Ko, basically in a polite way telling me to go ahead and do the review. I am sure he is a great guy, but he needs to be aware of how his staff members are dealing with people and consider some training for them so that other people do not have to go through what I did and the complete condescending approach of Kira who did not even reply to my final e-mail which read: “Hi Kira, I am somewhat shocked that my e-mails have not been replied to. I have a procedure next week and I simply cannot get an answer from you at all. I have now left you a voice message as well. Michael.” One would think at that point one could reply.Kira obviously does not feel that the clients of Dr Ko are important enough to extend the courtesy to either reply to their e-mails or phone messages and to pretend that that is in terms of the Hippo rule, which her supervisor said to me is absolutely nonsense. It is just poor customer service.

Dr. Ko is the most amazing surgeon I have ever met. From the minute you are greeted by his assistants you are made to feel like you are in good hands. I had a severe spiral fracture of my right humerus. I fell on May 14 and was told I would never need surgery by other orthopedic surgeons in the south end. After carrying my fractured arm around for over three weeks, Dr. Ko took one look at the X-ray and informed me immediate surgery was be necessary. In this day and age, no one should have to endure the pain and suffering I went through. Dr. Ko was very sympathetic to my situation. I am finally getting PT. The therapist looked at my X-ray and told me she has never seen better work on such a horrific fracture. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Kevin Ko.

Dr. Kevin Ko is a genuine surgeon. I was very surprised for the fact that he had sympathized towards my situation despite not seeing him locally in person as I am out of town. I just had to write a good review about Dr. Ko as he provided me his time and care to give me his thoughts. I would definitely consider him for any orthopedic needs. You will not get a better surgeon who will be more passionate and willingly to help than Dr. Ko
