Probably the best Indian restaurant in Downtown . ambience is good.. wide range of options.. Food really tasty and portions were large..Naan / roti were really big and believe they should be sufficient for 2 persons easily.. would definitely recommend for anyone looking for good Indian food..NOTE: they also have few American and Mediterranean options as well..

I interviewed for a Personal Training position back in February of 2018. I followed up with Kelly Stewart at the time and thanked her for the opportunity. I also mentioned that if Im not chosen, to give me feedback on what I could have done better in their opinion. Im still waiting. Based off this ghosting experience, I wouldnt inquire about a membership, and I notice enough turnover to not revisit any sort of employment opportunities.

Staff are great. Location is awesome. Plenty of amenities. My biggest issue is that it is way too hot where the treadmills are and there are no fans. I don’t want to sweat profusely and then freeze outside. Can we at least open some windows? If we’re using a gym like we should, we’re going to be really hot, especially for northwesterners.

I cant say enough about the YMCA in Seattle downtown on 4th Avenue. The staff are so friendly and professional. They always make me feel so welcome whenever I enter. I wish I could go there every single day just to get a smile from one of the staff members. Clean towels are available. They are definitely environmentally conscious as they asked us only take two towels and or as many if you need more. Facility always clean. Swimming pool wonderful. I love the womens locker room, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. No doubt about it 5 Stars plus if I could give them 10 I would !!

The staff at the downtown Y are truly the best. Outstanding customer service. Genuinely friendly and helpful. That alone makes me give 5 stars. This is a gym for everyone in the community and they operate as such. Expect to make new friends after a couple weeks, youll find friendly patrons willing to answer a question or give advice. The free classes are what make the membership dues and fees well worth it. Take advantage of the variety. I hope the facility will do better with cleanliness in the near future(locker rooms).

It had everything I needed to get in a full workout! The basketball court, the heavy bag and speed bag, the weight room, the indoor track, the bands for stretching, the lap swim pool. I strongly recommend the Y to anyone who is new in town and is looking for a place to work out, meet new people and be part of an amazing community. Here is why: great facilities with tons of equipment of all sorts (swimming pool, basketball court, sauna, a lot of cardio equipment...), classes of all kinds are organized every day, amazing friendly and professional staff, many events are organized for the members such as hiking. It is much more than just a gym, it is a community of great people from many horizons and backgrounds.

For some reason the DT Seattle YMCA decided to close the hot areas of the lockerroom an hour early! Not ok for paying customers that rely it to be open at least until 15 minutes before closing! I love this gym, its literally in the heart of downtown. It has everything a person will need that applies to regular lifters and pro athletes. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is when you are in mens changing room and you see some dudes walking fully naked with no shame around. I understand that people need to change but when you are naked you are not suppose to go around the changing room talking to people butt naked! It is a shocking view!! One day I was traumatized by a guy walking naked and talking to his friend while I was coming to change( true story!). Overall Awesome place to workout

This was once one of my favorite gyms but I dropped my membership as soon as signs went up in the locker room saying bathing suit would be required in the steam room and sauna and whirlpool. Hmmmm, not too repressive and creepy, is it? I’m not sure who this rule was made for since, based on my experience at least, all the ladies in the locker room seemed comfortable with their bodies and comfortable with nudity, just as I am and just as I raised my kids to be.One of the specific reasons I chose the YMCA over other gyms like 24 Hour Fitness was that the Y encouraged a healthy body image and open nudity in the locker room areas. Now it seems the Y wants to shame people and tell them their bodies are disgusting. It’s not just that, though; it’s also an extra added inconvenience I don’t need to bring a swim suit every time I go to the gym just so I can.....um.....take a steam with other women? There were some whisperings that this was done because of sexual activity in the men’s locker room. As a proud lesbian I feel the need to defend my gay brothers and say that this policy is obviously homophobic and if I were a gay man, there’s no way I’d be going to this gym. YMCA would be wise to rescind this absurd policy before they wind up alienating all their members. You can hang up all the “we accept everyone” posters you want, but actions speak louder than words and these recent actions show that the Y is definitely no longer s safe space for gay men and women and that’s the reason I will never be returning. If others are looking for nude-friendly environments that don’t body shame, I recommend the Tiger Mountain Family Nudist Park in Issaquah.

I mostly just use this place for the Swimming Pool. And since I am still learning, I can only use the reck area. But unfortunately, the reck area is closed “on/off” from 4-7:30 everyday! (And the entire facility is shut down on Sunday) Which basically means that people who have a family and are working cannot use it. You could be asked to leave the pool and be made to wait for an hour or more if it was your bad luck when you reached the place at the wrong time.

Great place for all types of people. They put up with degenerates, rich, etc. You can all go there together to prepare for your day. I stopped because of all of the nudity and felt a persecutory sixth sense around all of the Christians and too many negative thoughts ran through my mind about respect for abusive men and women in submission. Im just that way and get creeped out in religious environments fairly quickly. It doesnt take much. If you like that kind of thing, join! They also help with community service and house teens, run blood drives, etc.

Absolutely sterling attentiveness by its Front Desk Reception staffing. Greetings warmly with rach and every individual entering to exiting the building. Just admirable personable genuineness ! I LOVE this Y. I come from Illinois and the only gyms like this are the very highest priced health clubs. The womens locker room is pleasantly equipped with a hot tub, steam room and sauna, plenty of showers that are private, some public and also some handicapped. Body soap is provided. Swimsuit dryer with plastic bags, lotion and plenty of lockers. The swimming pool is comfortable but need to make sure of the times to swim as sometimes the schedule doesnt match up with classes they have. Its one of those things that Id rather not publicize and keep to myself but that would be like saying some delicious cookies are awful just so I can have more myself, right? Hehehehe!

The good: friendly staff, amenities (sauna, steam room, etc), equipment. The bad: not maintained, feels like a homeless shelter, creepy clientele, locker rooms always littered with hair that never gets sweeped, and most recently: ridiculous rules. They recently implemented a new rule where you have to have a bathing suit to use the sauna/steam room. Now they police this stupid rule, disturbing you while you try to relax in the sauna wanting to see you have a bathing suit. Ridiculous and humiliating! They also shut down for over a week (I showed up on the Saturday and went home disappointed) with little notice, supposedly to do maintenance. When I came back there was barely any difference and still hair everywhere in the locker room. Gross.

Still a Y member, now working out in a different location since I moved yet I felt compelled to write a review since I had some unsafe experiences here as a young man. I would be concerned about being a female here. Ill spare the stories and details but lets just say it is kind of a rough crowd that exercises here. The facility is in nice enough (cleanliness, wide array of equipment and rooms, central location downtown) but all Ill ever remember is being threatened by another member, which was reported by another witness and the Y really failed to address or remedy it in any meaningful way, ultimately making me fear for my safety and quite shook up (perhaps I should have made a bigger deal about it?). I really wish it didnt happen. Sorry, I want to love this place. It could be like exercise Hogwarts but it just isnt safe with who they allow/attract to this location (AA members, homeless). My fiance just straight up wouldnt go here with me after a couple experiences. Other than this, it is your typical, mid-price point gym that is relatively busy and has too many people verbally exerting themselves or generally not paying attention to their personal hygiene/space.

I was impressed by the range of facilities but was not impressed by the cleanliness of the mens locker room. The unsanitary floors gave me athletes foot. The staff is usually friendly but not very affective at keeping the place clean. Nobody seems to work there long enough to care. I also quit because I didnt feel safe being around some of the guys they let into this place who seem either right out of jail or on their way to jail. The staff is also quick to accuse some innocent people of breaking their rules while letting the real violators get away with murder. Theres no consistency. I think the Y has provide a safer and cleaner experience to attract and retain their members.

Update 11/19 - the monthly fee recently went up to $70. One of the front entrance turnstiles is still broken after at least 6 months (if not longer) and several machines are out of order. I think this place knows they have a monopoly downtown now and simply has stopped trying.Overcrowded facility that is not properly climate controlled in the summer. There are never enough sweat towels available and sometimes it feels like a homeless shelter. All that and they charge $64 dollars a month. Someone needs to open a new gym in the downtown core. They also shut down for an entire week during the summer with an excuse that they upgrade the facility but its never any different other than shuffling a few things around. Hey YMCA, why dont you do this stuff on the Sundays you are closed during the year instead of majorly inconveniencing the members you soak for an obscene $70 a month?

This business has a ton of issues. It is losing the middle class as well as whites + others. I should know. I was a member for 13 years. It blames the victim of stalking and bullying and not the aggressor.Diversity should have to mean appealing to the lowest common denominator.Notwithstanding some wonderful volunteers, I cant help recalling Hannibal Lecter and Nurse Ratched when I think of this business.* * * * *On July 9, 2015, I, a disabled senior citizen, was bullied and verbally assaulted by Cynthia Klever, director of the downtown YMCA. The experience left me traumatized. The Ys core values of respect, caring, responsibility, and honesty were flagrantly violated by Ms. Klever. This YMCA selectively enforces its rules of conduct, which is discriminatory.Contempt and hostility invite the same in return. I decline the invitation to lie.* * * * *Ah, but underneath...If we do not speak this week, I will put your membership on hold until I return from vacation, which is Friday July 17th. -Cynthia Klever in an email to me, dated July 8, 2015* * * * *This business tolerates and tacitly encourages racism and bullying. One of my shocking memories is taking an elevator with a fellow lap swimmer. A lifeguard--a twenty-something African-American woman, and another staff person was in it as well. The other swimmer, a Vietnamese-American, said hello to her, but she refused to acknowledge him and continued to talk to the other person. On the fifth floor, many white and black members form buddy pairs (with the African-American being the object of admiration, even adulation) and ostracize members of other races. What are you doing talking to me?? They dont want to see you. When I first started going to the downtown Y in 200, it looked more like Seattle: 70% white, 10% Asian, 5% black. Now it is closer to 40% white, 40% black, 12% Asian, 3% Hispanic.Dont we want civic organizations that look like our city and not encourage white flight? If you think it is cool to be around African-Americans--and many, many people do--even who bellow when they speak and who look like they might just have walked out of either the King County jail or a mental institution, this place might be an excellent fit for you.African-Americans get special treatment. In my observations over the past 13 years, the things that might land others in trouble dont apply to them. They rule the roost here.Rumor has it that a director who expelled an African-American for exploding and slamming a member who had simply asked if he could work in on a machine (the guy had been doing reps on one machine for 15+ minutes) was fired.Rules are selectively enforced; staff is reluctant, understandably, to confront aggressive members and then face charges of racism. It wasnt just the towels all over the locker floor. There were major security issues, too.On all floors you will find phalanxes of security lockers: regular lockers for clothes, smaller safety deposit boxes for valuables, medium ones just for gym clothes, and still others for laptops. This doesnt count the containers for needles in the dressing rooms. Not just locker break-ins. It was also common to have ones I-phone snatched when one wasnt looking.* * * * *Why do some people get picked on, and not others?I was harassed repeatedly here by some members, including one Hannibal-Lecter, who continually forced himself on me for years, while for years a group of young bored lifeguards got away with ganging up on and taking out their frustrations on me.If you are small, nerdy, and/or Asian and male, expect to be treated with less respect or even dumped on from low-level staff who find in you a valve for their frustrations. The final straw was when the Y let its director, a h.s. grad, verbally assaulted me, using the pretext of my having questioned the veracity of a 20-year-old lifeguard she claimed was autistic (!).
