Horrible communication skills .. set to go for surgery tomorrow..,Nobody has told me a thing no pre op no post op no ekg , no cervical collar fitting for neck Surgery, no discontinue of Meds prior to Surgery .. Hell I had to beg to t my blood work done and a Covid test.. I had to cut my Vacation early because nobody would get back on the phone with me. I’m so disgusted… I should cancel. And go with Swedish, who did my Brain Surgery.. who is phenomenal.. I want The Board to know they have an inept staff running the show and scaring patients my insurance will know about this as well!

Let’s face it, a surgery waiting room is not on the top of the list of where to spend your time. However this surgery center is top notch. I had shoulder surgery here in 2018 and had a wonderful experience with all the staff. My mother has had two surgeries here this month and has had no complaints. The staff is very friendly and they have a board with your loved ones number so you know if they’re out of surgery yet. You also have access to a cafe one floor down or can go up one floor and go to the main cafeteria. They also have comfortable chairs, and tables where you can sit and plug in your laptop, tablet, or phone.UW has some of the best surgeons in the country. I’ve met many people here in the waiting room who have come from all over the world. My father had a lung surgery here in 1996 and was told it could help him live another 5 years. He lived 19 years after that surgery. UW truly does amazing work and safes life’s.

Beautiful facility! Love all of the public art. Pics of facility included amongst art pics. Mom had a successful medical procedure that requires her to stay for many days. Doctors and nurses are very attentive. No limit on visitation hours. Paid parking (and sometimes free) in the garage. Lots of helpful people around to help us find our way to our moms room. 4th floor art is really amazing!

Everything is probably good if you have no post op issues, but try getting someone on the phone when you do. No call back for over a day.

Surgery today... Nurse issues!?! I must write a review for everyone to know about the surgery pavilion.I was completely surprised by the way the nurse (Lisa) acted. At first I thought she was rushed and didnt have any time for a question. I tried to ask about a medical term she used, she appeared adjitated with me even taking 20 seconds. Lots of deep sighs, eye rolls and head rolls. She was very short, no eye contact and I felt she was having bad day. When she contacted me too bring me back for educating for dressing and syringe. I asked a simple question about the syringe and she was so frustrated she the the paper with a quick hand toss, followed by I guess Ill start over, again. She kept on with the attitude. The patient and I looked at each other wondering why shes acting like this. She went to talk with someone and the patient said shes been rude to him. When she got back, she started from the beginning with Major Attitude. I quickly said she needed to come back and have a talk. We needed to clear the air and figure out why shes acting so short and not explaining the medical terms. She didnt expect me to speak up. She continued with tude. I asked if we could please clean the slate and start over. We dont do this everyday and we dont know the terms shes using. Rushing thru everything isnt helping anyone. If The patient, my fiance, is fussy and hard to satisfy, just ignore it and move on. Ppl in this field should know that if the person is grumpy theres a reason. Either find their pain level or kill em kindness and sincere sympathy. She appeared to have no sympathy at all. Seemed to only have frustration and attitude. No kindness anywhere. I tried to give her kindness from the beginning to the end, even after trying to wipe the slate clean for her. The darn CoVid screwed up so many things. This whole problem could have been avoided If I was allowed back there from the beginning I can make everything easier. The patient doesnt communicate well in pain. Plus his anxiety about surgery was through the roof. He was scared to death. Ive had several surgeries, Im very calm and soft spoken, Im very good with being calm and keeping ppl calm.Today was not a good experience in many different ways. The worst part was the nurse, Lisa. The 2nd worst part is not hearing from the doctor yet. Dr Walsh. Its 540pm and the doctor has yet to call. I have many questions and since I was not in the back I didnt get to ask. Since the doctor hasnt called I havent been able to ask. There is a catheter this time and last time we came back to Dr office the next day. This time we dont have Dr appt for 2 weeks. No one went over the catheter. The nurse was inadequate. She was useless. I asked for the Dr directly after surgery at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 130pm. He was very busy today and didnt have time for his patient. Hence this poor review.I would never recommend this nurse again. If we were asked to refer this experience including nurse experience, wed say THAT PLACE WAS TERRIBLE. No follow up with dr and the nurse sucked big time.Ive never experienced anything like this before. Very disappointed with the overall experience. Negative stars.Again, still waiting on the doctor to call and the patient was his 1st surgery of the day 730am. We arrived at 530am. Its now 6pm.

Only reason not five star is scented stuff everywhere very hard to avoid with both open air set up of curtains in patient areas and because no way to get away from areas with even if you bring scent free version with for staff I would suggest separate air areas for allergic patients and encouragement of no scents on staff like laundry stuff perfume etc to prevent patient breathing issues. Staff is excellent despite nothing being simple about my case and how allergic I am to things.

If youre not certain youre in the right place, look for the monitors about 1/3rd of the way in. It will take a minute, but you can use them to confirm things initially. It was a little bit confusing at first, but everyone was friendly.
