Let’s be clear, these SNOW WHITE STARS are for the Cafeteria. It literally take the 1Hour and 15 minutes to 1 an 45 minutes to deliver your food then when it do come. It’s ice cold. So my nurses have to microwave it EVERY PLATE I GET, not only that Something is always miss on my plate. So If your a Patient here, your in TROUBLE. But the Nurses and Doctors here get 5 ⭐️, there Great !!!! Ask for well done eggs and there Still wet. The Cafeteria is The WORST. PS. That one star is there because I had to push it just to Post this. They Get NO STARS .!!

My cousin went here to get treated, and we (my sister, niece and I) wanted to go visit, so we talked to him and he checked with the staff. They said we could come visit. So we loaded up into the car and went there. After driving for 45 minutes we get to the place and they tell us only one person can visit him. Really? They couldnt have told us that before? Why didnt the nursing staff tell my cousin this? Is the pandemic NEW to them?So my niece and I go downstairs to chat with him on the phone via video conference, and the security guard comes over and tells us we need to be quiet. He didnt offer a place to go to chat, he just wanted us to shut up. I told him hes bad at his job, and was rude, and I wanted to talk to his manager. He just handed me a piece of paper (their complaint form). I said I wanted to talk to a person, and he said no. Only thing I can do is write a complaint on the form and mail it in.I called the number on the form (they have a phone number and email... Well get to that...) and left a voicemail asking for a call back. Side note: Their signage is awful. Its unhelpful in MANY ways. Youd think they could figure out how to make signs, but youd be wrong.Back to the main story: No call back (surprise!) after a few weeks, so I go to email them... The email address is undeliverable. So I find the correct address online and send it in.These people are terrible at their jobs, terrible at life, and terrible people. Go somewhere else. No need to support garbage like this heap.

This is the worst hospital. This is anything but an emergency room. We were made to wait all day for some basic tests. We were made to sit hungry and without water because the tests need to be on an empty stomach. Ok then do the tests quickly. The doctor is supposedly busy with other patients but I walk around and I see a bunch of doctors laughing and cracking jokes with each other. What kind of an emergency room is this?!

Believe the reviews and avoid this place. The last reviewer who mentioned a foot/ankle problem: we came in today with the exact same problem, except the pain was a solid 9.5 out of 10 instead of 8.5, with him in excruciating pain now even 3 hours later in another ER. We found out now: its fractured and needs surgery. How this hospital sealed with it: They immediately took his vitals, then wheeled him outside and left him for over an hour. We asked about wait time, and they said no clue. We asked again in 30min, no answer as the waiting room cleared out with people in not apparently more pain than him. We left as soon as we could, scared to be there for another 6 hours like the other reviewer was. If youre in an emergency: do NOT come here. Go to Zoom+ care immediately, youll get far better care there

Writing my first Google review to report how horrible of an experience I had here. I was in 8/10 pain when I arrived at ~9:30PM and was non-weight bearing on my injured foot/ankle. I came to the UW ER because I thought they would take good care of me. Instead, they let me sit in the waiting room for >4 hours without offering me ice, Tylenol, or triaging me to x-ray. When I was finally seen, both the nurse and the resident apologized that none of these things had happened. They explained it was a busy night and brought me an ice pack. My issues with this ER did not stop there, unfortunately. It took another two hours to get an X-ray and another hour after that to get Tylenol. After getting Tylenol, it was another two hours before I finally hit the call button at 4:45AM asking for my X-Ray results so I could be discharged. After that, a resident came in who didnt know how to put on a walking boot (she had to read the directions and still got it wrong). So I ended up spending 7 hours from start to finish at the ER for them to tell me I strained my ankle. Except when I visited my PCP the following day, the ER report said that I likely tore a ligament. There are clearly internal communication/organization problems at this ER. It sincerely felt like they forgot about me every time there was a shift change. I understand I was in stable condition and not their priority for the evening but the least they could have done was offer me ice and Tylenol, communicate with me, and discharge me on time.

Came in with 2 chief complaints. Was worked up for one and told to follow up with my PCP about the other. It was only through persistence (seeing a clinical provider at Zoomcare Bellevue a week later) that I was finally worked up for the second condition which happened to be a significant pathology. What is even more alarming is what I found while reviewing the notes in MyChart. The write-up for the history of the present illness transcribed by the resident is completely fabricated and nowhere near anything I said while in the ER. It seems he (1) concocted a tale that suited his diagnosis and (2) completely omitted my second chief complaint. Also, the attending physician wrote in those same notes that she saw and evaluated the patient. If popping her head into the room and informing me she will come by shortly to check in on me (which she never did) is an evaluation, then I guess she did?I have unfortunately been to other ERs over the years for differing health situations but have never experienced malpractice to this shocking extent.I post this with the hope that someone in need of proper medical care goes elsewhere to be treated.

I have spent numerous occasions in the last 2 months at both UWMC E.R., and the broader UW facility/affiliated services. I’m not happy about that, it’s never feels great to be around a hospital so much. However, it’s a great feeling under such dubious circumstances to be in caring, capable, compassionate hands,. Between October 23 and today I’ve seen so much linoleum I feel like E.R. Errol himself. The experience at UWMC is exceptional. It starts with patient, knowledgeable, intelligent, tactile nurses, techs, and doctors. Working with calmness and aplomb in the middle of a horrid pandemic. It includes amazing equipment, immediate access to specialists 24/7 in more dire situations. Quick diagnostics, straight answers, and real talk when it’s needed. Not half answers and suppositions, needless platitudes or nonsense. I’ve read some of the reviews and I want to make a point that an E.R is not a hotel or concierge services; as some patrons here seem to think. It’s a complex fast moving system that to me feels like a central nervous system almost, calibration being really important. I can tell pretty quickly that if the nurse is not at my side then they are off doing something higher priority, or coordinating, making behind the scenes decisions for my health that could save my damn life for all I know. That is where I want their efforts focused frankly, not on my immediate comfort (which was always attended to by the way) but doing the expert work they trained to do. Shout out to the radiology team for being very literally world class and for having such amazing techs; as well as high end imaging available to the common folk with no distinction. I have seen people here at UWMC E.R in bad shape; I’ve seen drug addicts show up fishing for pills, car accident victims, chronically ill, anxious out their depth folks like me, crazy, old, young, foreign. I was here today at 40 years old genuinely convinced I was having some kind of brain stroke type thing, hideous weird symptoms, light blindness etc...transpired it was likely combo of sleeplessness, stress, high blood pressure causing a grievous headache. I was in a panic and pain, I was given compassion, analysis, calm talk, great diagnostics. No apathy, making me feel stupid, making me wait ages, or lacking priority. If anything they were too kind to me and I hope I did not cost a critical patient a good nurse. ABSOLUTELY Everybody is received with respect and treated with respect; unilaterally. Thanks again, your guys made my Christmas!Truly YoursAll the best holidays and 2021Charlie AndrewsI am humbled and appreciative, as is my family

I am a frequent traveler to this facility. I have a chronic condition that requires cutting edge medical science to keep up with. This is the kind of place you go to for things like that. The doctors, in addition to many being teaching doctors, are also scientists themselves, and they are the authorities for the research in their specialties. Ive also been hospitalized for this condition before, so I was a guest for a week. Even for the initial ER visit, I actually had a room with 4 walls rather than curtains (albeit small). The inpatient hospital room had everything I needed, and a good view of the campus across the street. I also really have to give credit to the outstanding nursing staff. UWMC saved my moms life! She was transported here from St.Peters Olympia due to type A aortic dissection which led to a heart attack in April 2019. Needless to say, I was in the ER with my mom and 15 staff members emergently preparing her for major surgery. My mom wasnt able to communicate so the doctors explained to me the seriousness of her condition. They rushed her into the OR right away and was there for 5 hours. Was the most traumatic experience of my life and they were all so great supporting me and my family. The ER social worker (Erin?) was quiet and available for anything we needed. The ER doctors and staff were all so wonderful. Eventually my mom ended up in the cardiothoracic ICU for a few days and EVERY SINGLE NURSE was amazing. Many of them were traveling nurses so probably will never see them again but their skillset and kindness to a family who needed a lot of TLC is much appreciated. Everyone was very professional and always knew what was going on with my moms health and educated us/walked us through every step and question we had. I didnt leave the hospital for a few days so the nurses offered me towels to shower and such. Dr.Burke was her surgeon and he was AMAZING. He checked in on her almost every day. He looks young but I credit my moms recovery on his handiwork. This hospital is amazing. Wish the dining room wasnt such a long walk though they did have a coffee shop with soups and sandwiches open almost 24/7. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the staff who cared for my mom and my family. We are eternally grateful.

They actually need a receptionist that speaks proper English so they can communicate with people that are calling in for Emergency Calls.. haven’t slept all night from a toothache from a bad dental experience & speaking with her was so hectic. Have to just come in person and be the first in line @7am. .Besides that had no clue why the 6 diff ppl at the site told me diff timing of the Dental ER schedule and location in the building.Wasn’t told that you’ll be tested where these student have to practice on you. In NYC they can squeeze you in for ER for dental but here they make you wait for months regardless.. 😩 I had a huge hole in my cavity where the dentist in Comfort dental @ kent messed up. It was horrible and I was in deep pain.Got to meet Justin & Versha. Which both are dental students. Super mannered but they do need some practice. I like their vibe but it took over 2 hours to get out the app. I don’t think it’s the best to go there when your spending a lot of $$$ on your teeth. Erica the receptionist was the only one that got to help me when I was getting frustrated waiting for my app. I got there 7am since I was told it’s 24 hours then by 8 I was so upset and hungry and then was told it’ll open @830 and when 830 hit I was told by another girl they may not come in then another girl said they’ll be there @9-920am. Wow it was crazy mostly I broke night from the pain & the building was huge and confusing. I even past by The orthodontist area and a guy receptionist was there telling me he can’t help but I asked for a brush jus to take away whatever germs in the cavity hole which helped abit. Overall this building is Confusing & a huge mess of management. The students do need more practice & don’t come if you spend a lot on your teeth and got time to wait for an app for a more professional dentist 🦷.

She had a grand maul seizure, which she had never had before. After about 10 hours it was determined they could do nothing for her so they were releasing her. When my daughter, who was still dizzy and confused after the seizure, inquired how she could get back to Seattle Childrens seeing as she had no shoes, no wallet, identification or money and soiled clothes (normal after a seizure) the charge nurse Julie grudgingly gave her a bus pass and told her to Google the route. Busses werent running that day because of the graduation. So they turned a young woman who had very recently had a grand maul seaizure with no shoes, soiled clothes and no resources out on the street to fend for herself. Great patient services wouldnt you say? I will be filing a complaint with the Washington Dept of Health and the Joint Commission on Monday.

I was there because UWMC family nurse decided my situation was an emergency. But after 3+ hr wait, I asked the front desk whether I can be checked by a nurse, if they dont think my situation is critical I can go to an Urgent care later. However, the front desk kept saying I was the next one to see doctor, but kept me wait for another 2 hrs (there was only one new but more critical case during that time).I also saw a worrying wife want to visit her husband. She was waiting for hours and made several calls to nurses inside but was refused to get in since the husband was sleeping. I would like to communicate the events of my most recent visit to UWMC Emergency Department on 6/18/2018.I arrived around 1300 and was greeted professionally by the admissions staff. I was quickly called back to triage where I was met with a portable EKG machine, vitals were taken and I was promptly moved to a room, an IV administered, and vitals were being monitored. Within a matter of a few moments I was taken for chest x-rays and shortly thereafter a CT scan. While waiting for results, blood and urine collections were sent for analysis. When all results came back no one was able to make a clear diagnosis, the main concern I had was ruling out any cardiovascular issues and a repeat PE.All the staff I encountered were professional, courteous, caring and concerned throughout my 7/hr stay. They were very apologetic for the duration I was in and that they could not provide a diagnosis for the issues I was experiencing, I explained that I came to rule out two issues and they confirmed that and I was satisfied with the outcome.I wanted to take the time to write this review and provide feedback, I know most people in a desperate situation are not always understanding, appreciative, and cooperative.Im glad to be a customer of UW Medicine and SCCA.

Hi.its a long stroy but might help someone.i had 2 experienced with them recently and both went wrost.First time i took my 3 days old baby for crying sleepy and with juindice in ER.it takes 1 hr for them to take only vital by different staff after 1 ER came doctor checked, gave some order to nurse and then after waiting 1/2hr ask them when are they going to do test .again doctor came with the perception that test already been done which wasnt then she said she is consultong oncall paediatric for further management again we wait for a while and she came back with the answer of pediatric that we should go other hospital as may he need admission facility that we dont have doesnt even bother to come down and check child either what he need now.again no test done.we decided to take other hospital.as we reach reception of other hospital they took child immediately to ER and first thing check his glucose which was critically low(25mg) life threatening low .this is the first step you should do with child at this age check vital with glucose which they didnt bother to did.2nd experience few days ago i landed in ER alone at night time with stomch pain. score 9/10 after same waiting, nurse took blood test and told me to sit in waiting area untill some bed empty i understand situation some patients need more attention then me as they are more sick and complicated after 1 hr sitting in waiting area i asked receptionist again as i cant bear pain .she went inside and asked.nurse took me on the bed which was in corridor.its fine with me as i need pain management.its seems every body runing from here to there and passing orders to each other like ping pong ball even i was on bed but again without any managment.after almost 1 hr 1 DOCTOR came ask me few question abt pain and order given to nurses without asking what i took before coming here.this pain continues for me whole night i requested for some strong pain killer and then they decide to do scan as per them only 1 perosn right now in scan dept and he is busy after waiting whole night my scan done in morning and it was appendicitis morning team came called GS dept which was excellent team.they did thier job nicely.but here again anaesthia dept.his consultant was very nice and genlte man.with his team 1 girl though she told me doing masters in anaesthsia sweet before surgey as i came in recovery room and open my eyes told her about my pain she said i have to eat some thing and then tablet.then i have to go home.i ask if i am not feeling well with this severe pain then, just concentrate on her answer she said my duty is finishing at 4.30 and nurses too so you have to go home all will be fine .as per surgeon team i can go home if i think i am fine as per thier protocol 1 or 2 days stay after surgery.i went for surgery at 12.45 and i am home at 5.30.with their rude and unhuman behaviour i dont want to stay there anymore while i am drowsy ,dizzy and with pain came home.I pray that i will not go again in UW hospital.Being human they should teach them basic ethic about patient care.niether they are looking their clock.

One star ratings for a hospital ranked #10 in the USA? Somethings obviously wrong here, and Id suggest you ignore the grudge carrying mouth breathers. As for my experience, having just undergone a second identical operation as one I had done four years ago somewhere else, I can only say that every facet of my surgery and recovery went better for me this time at the UW Med Center. And that I never encountered a single staff member who was rude - or something even more commonly seen - who was indifferent. They all seemed to be making a real effort to engage, and their skill and professionalism impressed me as well. Thank you for the first class service and care.(And sorry for the silly anonymous username, thats just the way I prefer to register with Google. But I assure you this is not a fake review.)

In my opinion, based on my experience the UW Hospital is the very best you could get for medical reasons. If anywhere, anyones could save not only your life but the QUALITY of your life then the UW Hospital you want. Outstandingly professional medical attention and care, astonishingly clean, green environment, the staff has happy-to-work-and-please you with absolutely positive attitude and energy at any time of the day, great communication between the doctors, staff and the patient via phone, mail or in person.Special thanks and standing ovation to Dr. John L. Gore and his staff and the Surgery Dept.s staff members on the 7th floor! :) :) :)
