We highly recommend Seattle Doula Partners! Autumn was instrumental in our birth preparation and labor, our experience would not have been the same without her. She is personable, informative, respectful, and gave us the confidence we needed to have a positive birth experience, even when the unexpected occurred. We would highly recommend the Seattle Doula Partners team, they are now a part of our family in the best way!

I had my son in February 2020 and it was the most beautiful and empowering experience of my life and Autumn played a very significant role in that being true.Autumns wisdom and experience proved invaluable throughout my labor and delivery. I had arrived at the hospital with possible preeclampsia and they wanted to begin an induction. Autumn helped walk us through our options at every step and ultimately gave us the confidence to be patient. I felt informed and capable to ask for what I needed and was able to avoid Pitocin. When labor began she was by my side, helping find the perfect coping strategies as labor intensified. I was able to have an unmedicated birth and I dont think that would have been possible without Autumn. She helped my husband feel so comfortable and present. I felt safe and strong. Autumn even took some of our most cherished photos as our son was born. All the nurses and my OB commented later about what an incredible Doula, Autumn was.Stay-at-home covid restrictions began right after our son was born and in all the newness of being first-time parents, I felt overwhelmed and alone. Autumn was available in the weeks following our sons birth for questions and support.Weve moved out of the Seattle area and are so sad thinking that Autumn wont be at future births! Were so grateful for Autumn and highly recommend Seattle Doula Partners!

Autumn is an awesome doula!!! We had a great experience with Seattle Doula Partners and would absolutely hire them again. We interviewed 3-4 doulas and the team at Seattle Doula Partners stood out the best to us. They were not pushy and their experience and calmness in communicating to us through facts and information really appealed to us. The initial conversations before the birth were very helpful. I was very apprehensive about the birth and talking with them to help uncover my and my husbands anxieties about the birth and it really helped prepare us emotionally. In many ways I felt like it was a therapy session! When I was hospitalized at 32 weeks, Autumn checked in on me consistently to make sure we were doing okay which felt very reassuring. Finally when the day came, we let Autumn know we were on the way to the hospital at about 11pm and she arrived just after I settled down in the L&D room which was super speedy! She immediately attended to both mine and my husbands needs, answering any questions we had. One of the most valuable things that Autumn did was that before anything that happened, e.g. getting my epidural or pushing, Autumn talked through in detail what to expect and this helped prepare us well emotionally and in many ways, made me less fearful. She was always right by our sides coaching us on what to do in a gentle and reassuring way. She wasnt intrusive and allowed me and my husband to have our own time.Through the pattern of my contractions, the nurse hypothesized that my baby was face up. Autumn had a ton of suggestions on how to resolve this and coached the nurse to getting me in the right positions. By then, my lower half was pretty weak from the epidural and every time the nurse had to shift me, Autumn was always there to lend a helping hand. At about 2am, all of us went to rest and my husband was exhausted. The IV machine kept beeping and Autumn always promptly stood up and turned it off so that we could all rest. She was close by and helped me with every small little thing I needed so my husband could rest.Autumn coached me through the entire 2 hours of pushing and holding my legs up. She was very encouraging and her calming and reassuring words gave me a ton of confidence. Once the baby was out, she stepped back, got one of our phones and took a bunch of pictures that I really treasure today!Post birth, I had a lot of difficult breastfeeding and Autumn shifted her schedule so she could come and visit me soon after that. She helped me with the latch and gave me a bunch of ideas to help increase my supply.3 months on and I still think about how lucky we were to have Autumn by our side! Thank you so much for your hard work, Autumn!!

Delivering a healthy baby was the goal for my wife & I and Jocelyn & Autumn helped make that happen! Even though we went with the a midwife at Swedish, having Ohana on the team boosted our decision-making and confidence. Their knowledge & experience stands out. However their best skill is knowing when to be assertive or let the partner do their thing.

Having Autumn there with me was an immeasurable gift. She was so calm, so soothing, so loving and so very helpful. She was a deep well of quiet strength, experience and knowledge that was ready to be tapped to the fullest, but she didn’t interject herself into the precious time with my husband and our special adventure. And besides that, I knew my husband was glad she was there, because she could help in ways he couldn’t, and she could also offer him a break from his (sometimes stressful) helpfulness :o). Thank you Autumn for blessing me and for being such a wonderful part of our daughter’s birth day!

Autumn was FANTASTIC, and neither my husband nor I could have gotten through my extremely tough and long induction without her incredible support. I knew having a doula both during pregnancy and for the birth would be invaluable, but I had no idea the level of support that Autumn would be able to provide, especially when I knew I planned to get an epidural. Because I had a scheduled induction, we were brought in at 8pm at night. Autumn met us at the hospital to get us situated with our nurse and medical team, and make sure we were comfortable with both our surroundings and the decisions being made. Once we were settled, she headed home for the night with the instructions to call whenever we needed her or when contractions really started up. We called the next morning around 10, and she came right in. Once things really got going, she physically supported me with different massage techniques and belly/back support as well as I labored through back labor. Without her knowledge of different positions and techniques, my back labor would have definitely led to a c-section. Long story short, she got us through 43 hours of labor on pitocin, during which an epidural broke off unknowingly, and a vacuum-assisted birth. Nothing went as planned during my labor and birth, but with her amazing support (physical and emotional!) both my husband and I made it through, with a baby safely in our arms. We were blown away by the fact that Autumn stayed for over 24 hours, slept upright in a hospital rocker, and did so with so much grace and love. Now that baby #2 is on the way, we have already gotten on their birth schedule!

My wife and I highly recommend Ohana Birth and Parenting Service. We just had our first baby together, and the doulas at Ohana gave us a lot of confidence. Working with Jocelyn and Autumn was a pleasure. They were very attentive, compassionate and engaged the whole time - from the first time we reached out to them, to even now, weeks after the birth of our son. Before the birth, they were always on top of things, kind, and informative. Helping us to cope with and make decisions that arose from interacting with the in-laws to getting enough sleep. Helping us feel in control.During the child birth, they were on point to answer questions and there with terrific pain coping skills and mood-calming talents to get through the 40 hours of labor and through to the birth of a wonderful, healthy child. Even helping us navigate and make difficult decisions when we needed to.After the birth, they have provided photos and continuing support in the early days, including advice on setting up a great pattern for breast-feeding and lactation. They work wonderfully as a team, bringing different skills and specialities to all phases of the pregnancy, and we were thrilled with their deeply kind and professional support. They truly helped keep healthy and happy mother and baby foremost… and father was very happy and supported, too.

Autumn was our birth doula and she is hands down THE BEST. We had a difficult pregnancy with lots of unknowns, and Autumn was always available to chat about any concerns we had regarding birth and postpartum. We ended up requiring an early cesarean section, and Autumn was there in a heartbeat to wait with us until my scheduled surgery time. In such a scary situation, it was so helpful to have a peaceful, grounding person there to keep my husband and myself calm. (She was also able to catch a few videos of us meeting our baby girl for the first time and they are so treasured by us!) After surgery, she stayed as long as we needed, and kept me company while my husband was in the NICU with our baby. She helped me navigate a breast pump (and saved some colostrum from being dumped by our nurse so it could go to our baby!) and did all she could to make sure I was comfortable. After we went home from the NICU, we had our postpartum follow-up with Autumn in our home. She helped with some breastfeeding questions and we loved having her around to spend some time with our baby girl! We had a rough breastfeeding journey for a few months, and Autumn was always a text away with advice which was so helpful for me as a first time mom.Autumns continuous support and advice was so helpful and absolutely worth the investment! We cant say enough great things about her!

We had an amazing experience with Autumn. We were induced, and Autumn was able to support us and explain what that really meant for me, as well as how long an induction realistically took. My providers did not do a great job laying this information out, as peoples experiences can vary so much. Prior to the birth of my daughter, Lisa and Autumn helped us work through anxiety and gave us a broad view of options as we developed our birth plan. My husband was wary of hiring a doula at first, but after talking it through with the team, his anxiety disappeared. He was afraid that having a doula would make him obsolete and this triggered some insecurities. He was put at ease when he realized that Autumn would be there to support him supporting me. In the moment, she was able to reassure him that I was okay and that what I was experiencing was normal. They worked together to support me in a wonderful way. Honestly, my husband will admit that the reason he was able to support me so well during labor was because he also had support from Autumn. Now he is the one who tells everyone that they NEED a doula! During labor she gave him recommendations, stepped aside at times and was a reassuring presence in a new/ overwhelming experience. Autumn helped me with pain management tools, breathing techniques and specific pressure points, Because of these tools, my labor experience was quite low key. I would even all it zen (at times)! I am not kidding, when I was laboring in the bath, autumn put tea lights around the tub! Beyond the labor, Autumn was there to take notes and record our birth story, take photos and help with breastfeeding after the birth. Having another person on point for these things freed my husband up to truly focus on me and the baby. It was such a gift!

Joceyln and Autumn were amazing! From the initial meeting to the last postnatal visit I felt supported, taken care of, and so grateful to have them as part of our team. Jocelyn was our doula during the birth and was absolutely critical in helping me have a successful unmedicated birth. Her presence was calm and relaxed, but absolutely present, and assertive when she needed to be. She was so helpful in helping my husband help me during the entire process. I also appreciated that shes very knowledgeable about the current research about interventions, alternatives, etc.A few days after the birth I was having some struggles with breastfeeding. Autumn came to my house the same day, on a Sunday night. During that time our baby ended up having her second full on meltdown for two hours, crying inconsolably. I cannot even tell you how helpful it was to have Autumn there to tell me I was doing a good job, that I was doing it right - and that sometimes babies just cry even when youre doing everything you can. She was a lifesaver that night. I would absolutely recommend Ohana - Jocelyn and Autumn as doulas and will definitely use them again in the future with baby #2.

I feel so blessed to have had a successful VBAC at 39 thanks to the support of Autunm and Jocelyn! Before, during and after the birth Autumn and Jocelyn were each a perfect combination of warm, sincere, supportive, extremely competent, reliable, organized and professional. They showed enormous endurance at my birth and went the extra mile to support us.I credit my successful VBAC in large part to the support of Autumn and Jocelyn. Despite all my best intentions, I did not go into labor in a strong state of mind. I felt worried for my baby, who was overdue and showing signs of distress. I also didn’t trust my own body after having had an unsuccessful labor previously and an emergency c-section after 26 hours of labor (with six hours of pushing) which started at home and ended up with a baby in the NIC unit. After that experience the prospect of natural labor deeply terrified me, but I felt strongly that I wanted to try for a VBAC anyway. Autumn and Jocelyn gave me exactly the coaching I needed to help me find strength and to deliver successfully despite a difficult position of the baby. They supported me with complete respect for each my decisions.I also really appreciated Autumns postpartum visit to my home. I had been struggling with sore, raw nipples (a problem I did not have with my first) and she helped me correct the latch and try different breast-feeding positions that quickly improved the pain and let my nipples recover. She also had many useful tips for all aspects of life with a newborn.Overall I feel completely blessed to have had the support of such a talented team. I cannot recommend Ohana highly enough.
