My dear friend is dealing with kidney failure, so he is currently receiving care here at Swedish First Hill. This is a super nice hospital with amazing views of the downtown Seattle skyline. The staff is kind and attentive. Rooms are impeccably clean with crown molding and hardwood floors. I hear the milkshakes are a big hit as well!

My child is placed on an administrative hold without any imminent danger to child my wife was led to believe that the child would be placed on a pediatric unit so that she could leave and get some rest and once she signed her discharge papers the plan was changed and there were suddenly no pediatric units available for her to stay with child she was lied to continuously throughout the day about an arrival time for a social worker while they stalled for time to place an administrative hold and there was never any social worker on the way it was a complete fabrication in order to stall for time and to place that hold and when the hold was placed there was no reason for an administrative hold there was no imminent danger to child and now theyre looking for a reason for the administrative hold theyve already put in place but if you called right now as of this moment they have no reason on file. Complete violation of not only the law but of ethics, have your child here if you want to roll the dice on their life and safety.

I had surgery on 08/16 and stayed overnight. All the nurses and staff were so wonderful. I had the best experience at Swedish and a beautiful view. Everyone was so caring and they even had me wheelchaired downstairs to my car while my husband filled my meds and brought the car around.

Some of the staff at swedish are the best! Then there is those who are as rude as the day is long!! But today I went to get a covid test an was told it was in another building. But when you have to carry a heavy tank of oxygen and not in the best of shape, the person at the counter of (mask and hand sanitizer). I was rude for no reason she was trying to be helpful. But I lost it. Im sorry for my behavior.

We had to go to the ER for a non-stopping nose bleed. The ER staff, check-in ckerks, triage nurse, ER nurse, and Dr. Schwetz (sp?) were fantastic!!! Took care of the issue quickly, professionally and EFFECTIVELY. But all were incredibly caring and customer service oriented -- going well above and beyond. Dr Schwetz had excellent bedside manner and was excellent explainer. This was the best ER experience i have ever had.

Staff is really attentive when you come as a patient. Most of the staff speak and are friendly and helpful. The volunteers at the concierge station take their roles REALLY serious and if you take a wheel chair, the will hunt you down in the hallway to remind u to bring the wheelchair back. I don’t know about you, but I ALWAYS put things back where I find them. Cafeteria hours are reduced, so be sure if your needing lunch to go before 2 or 230. The grill is where I order most of my food.... the most try’s are the omelets with bacon, tomatoes, cheeses mushroom and whatever else you would like to add in for an additional $.50 to $1.00. Also, try to grilled cheese and add ham or your favorite sliced meat. I always loved t try he roast beef and mashed potatoes or salmon n mashed potatoes. They’re ARE pricey! So remember that the lunch specials will usually cost you about $8-9 bucks and you may get a better deal for ur money going t to o a local restaurant or finding a lunch special. Sometimes the kitchen staff is a bit funny style and depending on who you get, you could get a different answer. I had a woman that would always go to the taco bar to grab me jalapeños but if she wasn’t there, the other ladies would say no, they couldn’t do that. Interesting. George and Angie are all stars and very friendly. Food is just mediocre. You’re always safe to try a pre made salad (Asian chicken salad) .Also if you are like me and trying to avoid ribs and carbs try the turkey burger no bun.

If I ever have to go to the hospital again, I hope Swedish is still in-network because I would definitely come back here if it was necessary. The nurses and doctors were all so sweet. I came into the hospital feeling extremely anxious because of my pain, but I knew I was in good hands and trusted the professionals. I stayed for a couple days as I recovered and was discharged only once I felt comfortable enough with going home. I was on a liquid diet so I cant speak to the food, but the broths were good.If you cant afford the hospital bill, Swedish does do financial assistance, so that may be an option. I was able to get most of my bill waived.Overall, I had a pleasant experience here, given the circumstances.

The care received is adequate however the support staff and I mean everyone from the receptionist to the pa the ppl in the records dept are all, without exception, rude, condescending difficult ppl bent on making anything and everything harder than it should be. Its as though they get a prize at the end of the day for who was the least helpful. God I hate this place.

This is where our nightmare begins. After the birth of our son we received a bill for a little over $30,000. We were shocked, absolutely shocked. We were in-network, we have health insurance, how is this possible? Long story short; 3 years, a lawyer and many thousands of dollars later we found out that the hospital neglected to process our bill through our insurance. They instead charged us at 100% for all of the services we received. This nightmare sadly still continues. We are still fighting the bills for services because of Swedish Hospitals mistake. It has been horrible and our credit is still recovering. This is why we need universal healthcare. You should not go broke having a baby. I should re-phrase this: You shouldnt have to suffer because of a hospitals clerical error. Do better swedish

I have been with Swedish for over 51yrs.....I never received such rude and arrogance treatment, as I did this evening.I asked operator for consulting nurse, she says they do not have consulting nurse or anyone who could give advice. Only after I asked why and I have been a patient with Swedish for over 50yrs. She told in no uncertain terms, that she did not make the rules and hung up in my face. Wow! I had my COLVID shotToday and just wanted to talk to a nurse about pain in my shoulder......Is this the attitude/temperature of a front line person, rather than directing them to call their primary or whoever......In the middle of a PANDEMIC, this a frontline persons attitude......

I want to start by saying that the nurses in PICU were wonderful everytime. However, we went three times in Swedish first Hill for our son. The first time, he should have a 24hours EEG under sedation, but when we arrived, they forgot the sedation part (even if it was on the pré procedure paperwork they sent us) and there was not any anesthesiologist for us. We were sent back home and received a few week later an invoice for it (that we had to pay and had a lot of trouble to have canceled later). We were rescheduled, for having a MRI under anesthesia, then a 24 hours EEG. At this time, our son also needed some blood work done and they did a blood draw while he was asleep. This blood draw was lost. They did not saw it right away, so when he woke up from his anesthesia, they asked to do another blood draw. My son is severely disabled and terrified by hospital so we needed to be 4 of us to hold him for the second blood draw. We werent happy, but held him and had a second blood draw done.Fast forward to last month were he was admitted for another blood draw under sedation. The sedation did not really work, he threw up and we ended stopping the laughing gas and holding him with the help of three nurses to have a blood draw done (nurses were great in PICU by the way).Today, I received a call from our private neurologist (who was the one asking for the blood draw under sedation). She told me Swedish was not able to do any blood test because there wasnt enough blood draw. My husband and I were there, we saw the full tube being taken. So it is very strange they werent able to have enough blood to do one level of medication test. I believe they did lost it or did an error on it. So not only we paid for the sedation. (who did not work), for a blood draw who was lost or put in the trash, we also traumatized our son a little bit more. Swedish was not even honest enough to call us and tell us directly. This is a shame !!Once, we can understand there can be an error (everybody is human) but three times on the three times we went there is a real problem. And each time we were billed for the blood draw. I wont trust them at all now and will do my best to not go again.

We are currently having issues with Dr. Shaikh in the palliative care group. We have insisted that we would like to keep our loved one Gabriela Gladwell on the ventilator (she has a small chance for some form of recovery), since her heart, and brain are 100% and her lungs are still pushing through. Dr. Shaikh insists that he is not pushing an agenda to cut her off, yet he keeps pushing to disconnect her. A little empathy from the hospital my sister admired would be great. She’s had her cough for over a year and was not diagnosed for her lung cancer, by Dr. Ellis (who has not met with the family). This same doctor has been treating her for breast cancer over the last several years (about 5). All we ask is for these doctors to have sympathy for our sister who’s a 49 year old mother with two younger daughters (one under the age of 18). If anyone reads this and can assist us, please do. Our family would greatly appreciate a helping hand.

Swedish system in general is a very good place. I go to Swedish first hill very often and Im always greeted with a hello and a smile. The attendants are always helpful and willing to go out of their way. The concierge in the front is always knowledgeable and helpful to anyone and everyone. I personally have never had an issue at Swedish first hill. You walk into the lobby it is huge. They have a Starbucks inside the lobby. The workers at the Starbucks are always friendly and fast. Ive gone to many of the floors to get patients and they always tell me they love the nurses and the doctors. I personally have had good experiences with the nurses. Very friendly and sometimes even super funny. Swedish first hill is usually always clean. The mens bathroom on the very first floor could use some work. They need to fix the doors and even clean it a little bit better. Other than that I personally think they do a phenomenal job. (mind you this review is going in to visit or for work not as a patient.)

Having a baby Febuary second was the best day of my life at the most amazing facility. The team that delivered was not only the most amazing team I have ever felt the feeling of, but also the most knowledgeable staff I have ever came across. It was almost confusing, trying to build more wisdom. Unfortunately, it might just be the JJ families eating style, it just seems to be very obtuse when it comes to food portion size. My Lady ordered three entrees and she could of ate it by herself. Rather just say welcome to the Swedish buffet.Very easy to navigate. Friendly staff. Food and drink stand right inside. Would definitely dream about having another baby just to be able to deliver here again. Positive energy your way, may all who read this wishes come true. Always and forever.

Let me start off by stating that Swedish hospital nurses and doctors are great! The Ladies working at the surgery check in desk are very unprofessional carrying personal conversations before they help patients checking in. Laura (one of the receptionist) told me to wait so she can finish her conversation before she attended me and it did not sound anything regarding work. I was picking up some personal belongings of my mother in law I didn’t have my wallet I left it on the 11th floor I did have a picture (the nurse stated it was ok) she gave me a sarcastic laugh and rolled her eyes and said no. So I went up to get my wallet came back down. When I got back she ignored me and told her coworker you handle that. I asked her coworker what her name was she rudely stated you can ask her your self. Then I asked for their supervisors name and contact and she rudely answers we don’t have supervisors??Swedish I am a big supporter of the establishment I would highly recommend you to set higher expectations/standards for the receptionist/checkin staff. I’ve visited Gas stations with friendlier service than what I received today.

In regards to the Lytle Center Clinic (Pregnancy & Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Assistance) , they are over booked and under staffed. They will turn you away if you are more than 15 minutes late even if you have called to let them know and it is a very reasonable and even exceptional reason for being late. This seems ludicrous for a mental health clinic to do this, especially one that targets new or expectant mothers (I mean what could possibly keep a new or expectant mother from getting to an appointment on time? *sarcasm*) You have to book appointments a month or more in advance and they only reserve a slot each day for emergencies. The Lytle Center Clinic is a great idea, but it is atrociously run and hopelessly bureaucratic even in its early days.

BEWARE! Atleast one employee at this location have severe mental health problems and i have evidence of one employee saying drug addicts should all die and much more. this was not a one time thing, this individual preaches this disgusting sentiment on the internet and expects to maintain a job in the medical industry. I have screenshots, links to his comments, and his name is Sal S Saliman, a nurse/registrar at Swedish medical center. Please be aware of this problem if you go to seek help. I believe some 1-star reviews below could be a direct result of this situation. I am trying to resolve this properly because such a high risk exists with this person in this position! Please investigate this matter further. I have sent Swedish messages and emails and i will contact the appropriate authorities if i do not get a response from here. Thanks for reading.
