I visited Dr. Koshy’s office for a new patient visit today and I had a terrible experience. At first glance the office is unkept and outdated. She did not even bother to pull the records that I had faxed over to her off the fax machine before she saw me. She was rude and condescending when I told her I couldn’t remember the year and name of a specialist I saw over 10 years ago. “Ten years is not that long ago, I’d think you could remember that far back.” I had my records sent over, so I’m not sure why we were even having to rely on my memory in the first place. Ultimately I felt belittled, uncomfortable, and that I had wasted both my time and money. The entire new patient visit lasted less than 15 minutes. Nothing was accomplished. I sat in the dingy waiting room longer than I sat with the Doctor. 1/5 starts, will not be returning.

Ive been doing to Dr.Koshy for over 10 years, and even though I now live much further away, I still want her to be my Primary care physician. The front staff of the family Fremont office is always courteous and when its time to see the doctor, Im greeting with a big smile and friendly manner. The other reviewer said the office was dingy, which I think is a bit harsh. The rooms are clean and modest, with personalized photos and pictures of the doctor and Nurses families. To me it has a homey touch! Dr. Koshy has a gentle bedside manner, and as someone with anxiety about needles and being there in general, after taking blood if I feel faint, she often offers me a little chocolate or treat to make me feel better. She always listens intently and we try to come up with a long term plan for my health issues to get the best possible outcome. Sometimes even suggesting other forms of therapy, like acupuncture, better nutrition, certain exercises, etc. So if I dont feel like being on another medication, she can offer other ways to combat the problem(s). The medical system in general seems to run at a snails pace, so even if she doesnt have some of my records, we work with what we know and information can always be sent to her at a later date. If youre looking for a humble neighborhood doctor who can treat and send you to the right specialists, I highly recommend Dr. Reena Koshy and any of the doctors & nurse practitioners at this practice.
